21:00 it was “my life as Liz” and you should TOTALLY do a video on that show. As a middle schooler I couldn’t really tell wether it was a reality or scripted, and I still really don’t know. It’s interesting how that show kinda walked so “Awkward” could run too
I miss MySpace. I was coding at 12 years old and I’m still mad it lost to Facebook. I still can’t figure out how something so fun and creative lost to something so boring. I will never understand it.
dude i wasnt around for myspace and i miss it. im only 17 so i didnt get to experience it all lol wish i did though :")
This! MySpace was the reason I took an interest in coding

Man that scene girl phase had a fucking chokehold on my generation ~2007-2010
Its like the part that egirls/emo-revivalists of gen z wont acknowledge 😭 the deep side part and fringe is too much for them but it was THE hot girl look in 2007-2010
Right?! Audrey Kitching, HannaBeth, those where the "scene queens" forget paris hilton, alot if those girls were the og influencers
Speaking of chokeholds:
CuPiD gOt Me iN a ChOkEhOLd
rawr xD ♥
My hair hated me during those years 😂 so much bleach and manic panic!
A CHOKE HOLD YA HEA ME!🤣😭
The misogyny they faced for just trying to do their own thing was awful. Truly feminist icons ahead of their time.
They literally talked crap about other female artists every chance they got and worked with multiple men that have been accused of SA but yas queen feminism gaslight gatekeep girl boss
They portrayed themselves the way they were treated. They could have changed their image so they could book better shows.
They got undeserved hate, but they weren't positive, progressive people. They had a lot of internalized misogyny they clearly were dealing with themselves.
Yeah...find somebody else
@@trashbasket11 proof?
I miss MySpace days, I hate how over produced social media has become
Yes everything was so candid
YESSSS! It was perfect back then. Just enough to get in touch with everyone and a way to express ourselves, but not enough to completely take over our social life and in-person experiences.
@@darlingdeb7010 exacly! People have a hard time telling what's even realistic nowadays. Something so cool has become an obsession and it's making us sick! :(
2003-2010
eh it's always been the same, just different platforms & different strategies
watching them get on Bad Girls Club was so surreal , it was like two opposite worlds colliding and i loved every second of it!
that’s where i remember them from! i wasn’t around for the myspace era cuz i was only like 6 years old lol
They were so unlikeable on that show. Nothing but bullies.
@@MsVitaD they definitely were unfortunately , definitely a huge let down. not only were they bullies , but they were also followers as well
What?! They were on BAD GIRLS CLUB?! I have to find which season rn
@@missbraindamage season 15 which is named “Twisted Sisters” , they make their debut in episode 4

As someone who has worked with Snowblood/Dani directly, I can tell you that she is a literal dream and genius to work with!! She's so fucking smart and can be as campy as they can be! I hope that Melissa's solo career does amazing, and I hope Allision has an amazing time!!!
@JJ JelyBean yup!! its an artistic style which correlates to being over the top, ironic, etc
Alison is unfortunately now a hardcore trump supporter 😭

My hair has always been too fine to tease it. I ENVIED Melissa's scene hair. Those girls were gorgeous. I saw them in convert and I have never seen that many guys in skinny jeans and spiky belts since. I cannot explain the nostalgia I have for myspace. As a millennial, NO other social has given me the serotonin boost MySpace did. The drama that happened over top 8 friends is unmatched.
Thank you for this video. I loved this blast from the past 🌙
FACTS
MySpace really was the best. Had my ass learning to code too!
Lol fr though!!
Yesss I was so proud of my MySpace page lmaoo I went to look at it a few years back and it was all grey, half my pics were somehow gone(probably for the best) it was so disappointing
I miss it too you guys ... I miss filling out surveys and posting them to bulletins, and how unique and new it felt to post selfies, which weren't even called selfies ... they were called myspace pictures !!!
I met Katy perry and Jeffrey star at warped tour, this was before they were crazy big and I just remember being very uninterested in them because all I cared about were the bigger bands at the time. Warped tour was truly wild especially during its height when I was a teenager. I can't believe how much has changed since then and that it has been over 10 years since then. Time really does fly!
Warped tour 2007-2010 was the concert to be at. But I hated that the same bands weren’t in every city. The millionaires didn’t make it to mine, cleveland
I haven't heard of The Millionaires in forever! Definitely a blast from the past. Them, Tegan & Sara, and Meg & Dia Band were my go to girl bands back in the day
Tegan & Sara. I found an old Blink 182 & Greenday concert ticket from 2002 and Saves The Day opened for them♡ Left me feeling nostalgic.
body work by Tegan & Sara and Morgan Page will sit rent free in my head FOREVER. the choreography in the video is so impressive alone.
Oh my god Meg & Dia Monster was constantly playing in my head
Don't forget about t.a.t.u.!!
Tegan and Sara! Have you heard their newer stuff
I met them in 2011 (Melissa & Allison) on the DGAFTWD tour & they were truly the kindest, most genuine artists I’ve ever met. I clearly saw how appreciative they were for the fans. They hosted the meet and greet on their tour bus, offered everyone snacks and water & chatted for at least an hour with us (also tbh they spilled tea on Dani leaving). It felt so personal and authentic idk I just have the fondest memories of them I will forever remember
love!! i met melissa and allison in 2015 they were buying everyone shots on shots!!! it was so fun
What’d they say about Dani leaving?
I want tea please 😊
Tell us the tea. Don't do us dirty
Thats so awesomee, what did they say about dani leaving ?
Okay when Ke$ha says “I’m money because I have no money” I related too much lmao 😭
I'm 31 so I was on myspace at the time they were popular. My parents were super strict and I always wanted to go to warped tour. Of course I wasn't allowed to go BUT it's so great to reminisce on old times with videos like yours. I appreciate all the time effort and energy went into making this!!! Finding old footage is hard enough!!!!
Same!! I’m also 31 & grew up with strict parents. MySpace was a great social outlet
I'm in my late 30s too but luckily in my case my parents dgaf so I went to every Warped, stopping in 2011 when I had my son and it started to suck musically
When I was like 14, I saw the Millionaires at Warped Tour and had a chance to meet them towards the end. I was surprised by how nice they seemed to be in person, they actually invited my friends and I to come hang out with them (I don’t think they realized how young we were). I was so fucking nervous/excited but that was of course the moment our ride back home said they were already waiting for us 🫠
Which I just realized is kind of ironic, because I totally forgot Trace Cyrus dated one of them and I kind of met him too. When I was at a small concert that Metro Station played at, someone ripped out my cartilage piercing. I just felt a pain and a bunch of blood on the side of my face and ran out, we were at the front of the stage and my friends didn’t know where I ran off to in the thick crowd. Someone helped me get to the show medic in the back, and while I was sitting their holding ice to it with blood all over the side of my face and crying, some of members of Metro Station(I don’t think it was all of them but Trace was one) walked by and saw me, and asked if a picture with them would help me feel better. My dumb ass said no because I was embarrassed how I looked with all the blood and tears 🤦🏼♀️
Omg they could’ve offered you a hug instead! Lmfao. Thank you for sharing and sorry your cartilage piercing got ripped out!
well, reading a bunch of comments I noticed that only teens liked that band.. no wonder.
I was too young for myspace and never knew their backstory but this was so interesting! Their style is still relevant today. Inspiring.
as an OG fan from back in the day i loved this! so glad they’re all doing well 💗 they really were pioneers, i had no idea how much hate they got though because there weren’t channels like this back then and i was in middle school lol
Hahah same here!!!! These girls used to perform at the heist in LA back in the day as well as other clubs. I’m having so much nostalgia watching this. Lol also I feel old 🤣😂
I saw then live at warped tour in… maybe 2009? Somewhere around there. Anyways the crowd was so horrible to them they had bottles (some of which were GLASS) thrown at their heads. Didnt happen at my show but seeing other vids from warped tour they had so much shit thrown at them and at my show they were heckled and booed like crazy.
They weren't as known anymore when I was in my scene phase but I still remember how much people hated them. A lot of hate seemed to focus around the fact that they were girls, slutshaming type of hate (maybe not exactly slutshaming, but that's the closest thing I can think of to describe it), as well as jealousy from girls like me (yes, I unfortunately also disliked them for absolutely no legit reason) who were very insecure and had internalised misogyny.
They were on BGC twisted sisters
Six albums is crazy!! 😢 Thank you for talking about Ke$ha as well. I know she was going through a lot of things in the industry.
They were so iconic and ahead of their time that sadly no one knew what to do with them in the early 2000s. They would fit right in with hyperpop artists of today, and the whole host of other musicians who are doing their own thing amassing tons of genuine fans without industry help. I still listen to them and love them, they really embraced their aesthetic wholeheartedly and unashamedly, that's so rare and inspiring.
saw them at warped 09 and it really was sad how many people booed them, but they were fantastic
The millionaires are the reason I can spell alcohol correctly. Anytime I write it out I always sing A-L-C-O-H-O-L 😂 I remember seeing them at warped tour in 2009 or 2010 and never knew how badly they had it on stage from other crowds
SAME
hahaha saaame! to this day 😅
SAME!!!!
The Cash Only EP aged really well; I wished it were a whole album. Plus, I used to obsess over the unreleased track, That's How We Party.
never listened to them before now but party like a millionaire? a fucking bop.
Never clicked so fast! Millionaires were so underrated and deserve recognition, they were so ahead of their time! There is definitely a place in the world for a Millionaires re up these days, I'd love to see them on no jumper, they had a huge influence on the culture! Even if they started a side project like a podcast would be incredible!
Why tf would you throw your shoes at a concert? Now you gotta spend the rest of the day without shoes. At Warped Tour. That is just poor decision making.
Maybe they bring an extra pair just to throw at people LMAO
@@lNDlCAhahahahaha
Maybe they had extra ??
I got caught in a wall of death at warped tour back in 07...I made the poor decision to wear ballet flats....and somehow I lost my shoe in the chaos...speaking from experience spending the remainder of the day at warped tour with only one shoe was absolute shit..
Can't lie I was a Kesha fan. I was early wave emo (pre 08) so we had this dumb war between "real emos" and "wanna be scene kids "... kind of treated scene kids the way old school goths treated emos. Basically we were too dumb to realize we are all facets of the same alt scene
The way my head shot up when I heard Maniac by Girlicious playing 🤣 You should totally do a video investigating Girlicious and the show they were formed on (The Pussycat Dolls Present.) So much weird stuff has with those involved since its release
Omg I forgot about Girlicious 😭
Yes yes yes.
As someone who was never allowed to have a MySpace (or internet access in general) I love retrospectives like this that deep dive into the web culture back then and shows how integral it was to modern pop culture. It both let me know what I was missing and how impactful it ultimately was to the media I ended up consuming later on
the millionaires were soooo ahead of their time! i’m glad you made this summary of their greatness ❤️
This was the style at the time so they weren't ahead of their time
First, I love how you showed Dahvie Vanity on stage when you mentioned s*xual assault. Very nice touch.
Second, this was so great and i haven’t seen this covered elsewhere. I was too much of a snob goth back in the MySpace days and despised electro pop punk but this was so so nostalgic! Def can look back now and understand/appreciate the appeal, those girls really were tough as nails and really did the damn thing.
lmfao i didn’t catch that but that’s such a nice touch 😂
I would be shocked if Dahvie wasn't the guy who SA'd Melissa
@@kristasweetleaf5695 Right?? Unfortunately warped tour was a hot spot for those kinds of dudes.
@@HeteroSkeletal going through old warped artist lists is like a who's-who of who's cancelled 💀

Oh goodness, I love the millionaires & Melissa Marie will always have a special place in my heart. She used to do tattoos randomly down the street from my house not even a mile away. I have tattoos from that place but never was there at the same time unfortunately. I do have a huge handmade red bow from Melissa, though! I miss the old Myspace days. Anyway, I can't wait to watch this. I love all of your deep dives & I'm super glad I found this channel. 🎀✨
OMG I would LOVE a Deep Dive on NeverShoutNever! I was obsessed with Christofer Drew as a late teen, but I remember him getting sort of "out there" and instead of becoming the global sensation he probably could have been, he just sort of... I don't know! I'm hoping you'll tell me what he's up to these days.
You should watch the cozy representative he has a multi part video on him
been binge watching deep dive lately and I'm so glad that you gave us a new video
you guys are amazing and I hope you guys have an amazing day and happy holidays
Happy Holidays 🥹💖
The nostalgia I felt while watching this made me tear up !!
I miss the myspace era!!😭
Please make more scene queen videos! There is so much to unpack about trashy life, kiki and Dakota, etc
I’ve honestly never heard of them (no offense) but I’m still excited to watch because this channel presents these stories so well! On the other hand, even when I already know someone’s life story (like with Miley), I still watch their video to see their take on it. They always seem to have more information than others about these celebrities.
Same x
Same here

Same lol like who are they? Didn’t even know they existed. Still, because of this channel, I don’t mind finding it out lol

I was a teenager in the MySpace age with them and bring Mr the horizon, nevershoutnever and kesha of courseand I'm from colorado and when 3oh!3 came out.......oh my god. I personally think that was the best time to be a teenager. The time and love it took to personalize your MySpace is unexplainable lol
This is straight bringing me so much nostalgia from when I was a wannabe scene queen/emo when I was 9 - 16 (2009 - 2016), wishing I was a young emo teen in 2005-2008 and I remember these girls vividly and I'm LIVING for this video stfg.
I miss MySpace more than any other epic social media
I feel so attacked. 😂 I met Melissa Marie Green, Jeffree Star, and Brokencyde. This videos bring back so many memory’s of middle/ high school.
❤️ Songs/samples I recognized after the intro:
Kesha - We R Who We R 1:30
Kesha - Cannibal 3:18
Kesha - WooHoo (Unreleased) 22:48
fashion by lady gaga is in there too
I thought woohoo was windows down by big time rush lmao
@@Narthalee i think they reworked it for big time rush when kesha didn’t use the song for her album (i think her backing vocals are on the big time rush version)
i love them sm they were one of my fav bands back in like 2010
I was just thinking how their needed to be a documentary about the Millionaires! This is amazing!
I hope Dani and Melissa reunite to make another song. But I’m glad this group didn’t end on bad terms.
The way I was obsessed w the Millionaires
I met them at Warped Tour, they were so sweet! And I loved them on Bad Girls Club
Melissa Marie is still touring and doing scene Queen things!
It’s insane it’s been so long 😭
Wow this was such a cool blast from the past!! I was just starting high school when the millionaires were HUGE on myspace and I remember having to secretly love them bc I was also very into metal and in high school back in those days you def couldn't be caught dead liking both genres. This made me beyond nostalgic for myspace and everything from that era. Very well put together video! I couldn't believe it was over, it went by so fast it had me HOOKED!
Omg i was into punk/metal etc and I had to secretly like the millionaires too hahah
Omg i never expected a documentary made about them. Idk how i found them about a decade ago on youtube but their song "stay the night" have been my jam ever since. Matter of fact let me go listen to it before i watch this video lmao.
As a previous scene kid it is my duty to consume this content. They helped me spell alcohol way too young and I will always be thankful 😂
Giving the people what we needed!!
I secretly had a MySpace during the start of the downfall of MySpace and the scene girl phase had me in a chokehold at the ripe age of 10 yrs old😂
Yessss same here lmfao
same 😭😭and it was definitely not a flattering look for me! honestly a lot of girls looked super cute with the scene look but i don’t think there’s a style that could’ve been worse for my vibe. live and learn 😵💫
Same and I couldn’t straighten/tease my hair cause it was a too long and thick & I couldn’t have MySpace either and I see why my dad tried to keep me away from the Internet… should’ve listened… lol. 🫠
5:57 I love that you put the scene of Snooki and Jenni typing "the letter" 🤣🤣
This was such an iconic era like ugh I miss these days so much 😭😭😭
man i must have been under a rock cause i don't remember the millionaires at all, but i loved kesha when i was younger.
Mentioning Tila brought me wayyyy back. I used to love her! She went insane. Or, showed that she always was is probably more likely.
I saw millionaires at 13 years old in Fresno CA in 2008 !!!! I DANCED WITH THEM ON STAGE !!!! it was awesome lol
The millionaires were also on Season 15 of the Bad Girls Club, they really didn't do much on the season.
I felt bad because I think they belonged more on a dating show. You could tell Melissa was STRESSED with the fighting, at least they left because they stayed true to them and didn’t want the environment there to change them like it was
I knew it!!!! I was sitting here watching this like she looks like one of the sisters on that bgc season.
Haha I just finished rewatching that season last week
they were too nice for the show. you have to be a full narcissist, alcoholic and/or general garbage person to be good tv for BCG.
They were surprisingly boring on BGC.
I first heard of them in the Bad Girls Club. The season about sisters. They were the only ones who left with any dignity.
Was an OG fan! Saw them play in this tiny venue in Philly!!! It was wild to see 2 of them end up on Bad Girls Club, I was like - wow.. worlds collided. I remembering filming them on my little digital camera at age like, 16 lmao. We took a pic together in the street after the concert 😂
I was literally just wondering what happened to this group! Thanks for the excellent video. That whole Scene era was crazy!
so happy to see someone do a video on these icons!!
I loved this era so much! Thank you for putting this together! Some of that older video is an amazing time capsule.
Aw, so happy to see all the girls still going strong!! I admire their attitude back in the day so much❤
Once again a well presented documentary. Love this channel!! ❤❤❤
Sooooo stoked about this one! You are so good at this.
The other day I was searching for a video on them but couldn't really find one. What a coincidence yall post one today! Thank you!!
Ok but I’m just fangirling that I just saw TOM in a video!? Wow I remember being 12 messaging him and he always was so chill and just said, “hey”. What a guy!!!! ❤
Also, MySpace was always better than stupid Facebook. Uhg. I miss decorating my profile and having a playlist go on when you clicked my profile. :(
I love The Millionaires. Saw them live and they put a great set! Your Girl Does Party was a game changer. I will forever be a DGAFTWDC !
Their song I love money will always live rent free in my head. They are the reason why I listen to Coco and Clair Clair today.
LOVED THIS! THX FOR STANDING UP FOR THESE LEGENDS
This was a great flashback with all the MySpace talk. I must admit I never liked the millionaires even though I was a "scene kid" when all this was all happening.
Such icons of their time! Definitely had a bunch of their songs in my MySpace!
I love your content so much! Always well researched and edited great! Keep it up! Loved all the throwback J* songs in this too lol
This video topic was really cool! I would love to watch more stuff like this about early 2000's internet culture/pop culture!!!💗
Omg that’s crazy because I was just have a reminiscing moment last night and listening to all their songs holy shit
Melissa Marie was my favorite Scene Queen from back in the day lol. Glad I got to see her at an emo night and Dani doing her thing as Snowblood. Still miss the Mr. Downstairs project she had with Asia Whiteacre though.
Nice editing and production. Well made video. Good work
Oh yes, my 14-to-15-year-old self in my emo days with the scene kids, listening to Kesha and Crunk core while bad shit went down at parties. Loved it. As I put what I saw on the internet.
I absolutely love ke$ha ❤ and will always support her, she gave us multiple hits unfortunately at the sake of her sanity and the abu$e 😢
Hearing Tom speak is new, so trippy. He was definitely on my top 8 list.
This is the content we need! Miss them so much. Definitly ahead of their time.
Watch, in a couple of years the scene phase will be back and hopefully the Millionaires will be revived.
We need more Deep Dives about bands this is one of my favourite videos on this channel
The drive I had when I was 12-16 wanting to be as beautiful as them, they still have a hold on me now. Thanks for this blast from the past!
I was a warped tour girlie from the age of 11 up until it ended, seeing and hearing all those names was like being slapped in the face with nostalgia. It’s not surprising that they got a lot of hate at those sets tho, idk why they didn’t just put all the non “aggressive” acts on one stage tho. Jeffree was a regular, bronkecyde was electronic and was there the same year as the girls. Katy Perry played warped tour the year before, they were booking non “aggressive”acts and continued to do so after the fact.
Woooooahhhhhhh the memories you just tapped into. This was at the height of my scene kid teenage angst era and i remember them. I loved alison. I would try to do my makeup like her & beg my mom to let me color my hair like her lol
She always responded to comments and interacted with fans. I remember i posted a picture and tagged her because i successfully copied her makeup and she commented on my page saying how good it looked. she was so sweet.
Hooollyy blast from the past!! The Millionaires were one of my favourites for a hot minute
I saw The Millionaires at The Brewery in Raleigh, NC and met Jeffree Star at Warped Tour. What a time to be alive
the synchronicity is REALLLLL just last week i looked them up cause i felt 13 again.. their cover of whoo alright by the rapture gave me LIFEEEEEEE
Your guys’ videos are always the best 😭
Omg! I’ve been waiting for something like this on the Millionaires for years! I literally just UA-cam searched it a few weeks ago and here we are. Thank you for this. Dgaftwdc
i adore to this day, they made my teenager years. thanksnto them ive found confidence & the i dont give a f mentality. i will cherish them forever, thank you millionairs ❤️🙏🏻
Omg bring back MySpace scene queens! I miss these days! 💜💚😜
Nostalgic! I loved them as a teen, went to warped tour, being a scene kid on MySpace was such an iconic time. I don’t think anything like that will ever happen again, literally the birth of social media. Definitely miss those days!
I remember going to their breathe Carolina show! I have so many pics with both bands. Went to more la shows after too. Nostalgia is hitting. I was obsessed with them
I love your documentaries deep dive. Always listening to it in the background when I'm adulting.
We miss you, TOM! I’m so sad MySpace went under to FB smh LETS ALL GO BACK! But they have to bring back the OG MySpace, if y’all remember most of us went to FB because MySpace kept changing and we didn’t like it.
THANK YOU FOR THIS
Always love your notification 🎉💖
