- Supercar dents this week! Unfortunately a large piece of wood fell from inside the customer’s garage and landed on the rear wing creating these 2 small, but very noticeable dents. The difficulty with this repair, was that the dents were difficult to access and the panel was made from Aluminium, which needs almost twice as much force in order to push these dents out.

I know I usually take on much larger challenges, but sometimes the smallest dents can be the hardest to do, especially when getting access requires a lot of trim removal and also when the panel is made from Aluminium!

You know, when someone is good, because he achieved great results and it looked easy. I tried to remove some dents on some aluminum parts of my car and understood, that it's better to let someone else do it.

Excellent work!! I had PDR done on my show car after **GULP** dropping my gun and it landed on the rear quarter panel. Very sharp dent with no paint damage. He spent an hour and it is invisible. Money well spent, always!!
Another great video Jake, I agree, sometimes the small dents can be tougher than the large ones especially when it comes to gaining access and working with aluminium. Great repair, great video!

I do quite a lot of dents caused by things falling from garages, they just don’t make garages big enough here in the UK 😁

Thanks Zan, it was very tough metal to push out, I did tell the customer that I should keep the car for the weekend to fully make sure the dents had gone, but he wasn't having none of it lol! 😂

@@vidicz surprised you managed to get behind the panel on a Maserati, those cars are built in a strange way, lots of square frame Aluminium sections behind the doors. Keep up the good work!

Friend! The simple fact of knowing that it is a Ferrari imposes respect. I suppose it is a little scary that something will break when undressing, isn't it? I think that each repair represents a different challenge, you never know how difficult it will be in the process and your friend is the best, the results you get are always surprising and the best thing is that you share your knowledge. Yes, these types of car are built very differently to most common types of car, so you have to approach them in a very different way. Although it's very rewarding repairing a car like this as you can't be driving around in a dented Ferrari! 😎
Great video as usual, can I ask how do you film your led light board without it flickering? I'm struggling to film/take pictures of dents I'm doing as the camera just flickers like crazy because of my led light.
Thanks, I’ve noticed the flicker on other tech’s videos, I make my own LED light board and it is powered by the mains, maybe that might be why. If not, try adjusting your shutter speed on your DLSR if that’s what your using as that will make a big difference 👍
I learnt pdr few years ago. Never put into real work. How can I become better and what s the best light board? What s the best trick to learn to position the tip ?

Thanks, I learnt this alongside panel beating many years ago, it depends on your background and ability to how quick you can learn it and how many hours you are willing to put in. Most of my tools are from USA pdr suppliers and some from Uk suppliers, there only used to be a few suppliers when I first started now there are too many to name. 👍

Thanks, there are so many rods to choose from, the 24 inch double bend tool from Ultra Dent Tools is one bar I probably use the most, it’s a great all rounder. 👍

Hi Brian, I don't actually measure the temperature with any device, I just get it hot to the touch, only as hot as it would get really in direct sunlight on a hot summers day, although we don't get them very often here in the UK 😎

It’s not the first Ferrari I’ve fixed where something fell from the inside of their garage, I remember some years ago fixing a dent on a Ferrari bonnet where a baking tray landed on it.! 😯

Nice Job Jake, I hope you let the customer know, that would have cost him £1500 to repair at the Ferrari Approved Repair Centre in Slough and he has the benefit , if original, of still retaining the factory paint which is so much better than the paint being applied in the refinish market.
You have again proven that the modern Alloy panel can be repaired, which most panel beaters that I come across think cannot. Its just applying a different skill set. As your an ex beater you will know what I mean.
Thanks Chris, yes the first dent was straightforward, however the second was a real challenge, if there had been something to push off from, that would have made it easier. I'll let the customer know how much money I saved him! All the best 👍
@@1st_track_dents Jake , last time I visited the Ferrari repairer in Slough they were charging £90 an hour for Bodywork, that was a 12 hour job and plus paint and VAT you would be looking at £1800, more if they thought they could get away with it. I know everyone keeps asking about what you charge and I know you dont want to reveal. If you charged the customer £500 it would not have been a bad price for them or for you. 2 hours work there and a heavy liability working on an expensive car. The skills you have are at the top of the game. You skills on video are really good, would not surprise me if TV snapped you up.
