Tina, I would like to thank you for all your transparency and how you’ve normalized this more in my life. As a young woman who wants children but has heard and seen terrible birthing stories in either movies or from people around me, this has given me a lot more confidence in my own body and the process itself. Thank you so much and congratulations on your beautiful baby! Wishing you three the best ❤️

Fun fact - loads of people poop during labour and never even know about it. Midwives are used to seeing all sorts of mess during labour - they’ll just clean you up and carry on and more often than not they won’t tell you.

In Norway the whole experience from the day you get pregnant included the whole birth is completely free in the public health system. Also everything for you baby is also free until the child is 18. After that as adults we have a small sum paid each beginning calendar year and the rest of your health care and medications are covered for the rest of the year. The amount we pay before it's free is around 250 dollars us. We are quite privileged in this country...

I love that you say everything as it is. Be real about the pregnancy and birth. It hurts and no woman can say it doesn't. Before going to have C section I didn't had epidural cause I stopped at 3cm and when they gave me an epidural for operation I was like: I wanna sleep. I wanna rest. And the nurse was asking me question and I was still saying "I want to sleep" 🤣😅 but I would do everything the same again with the 2nd baby 💙💙
Love you watching and give a big kiss to beautiful little girl Lyla

Hey Tina! As an auntie, I love seeing videos like this. I'm not having kids, but watching this is like an education. I just want to know how I can support my friends and family members that are moms, and this video helps. And I'll be watching way more. I put this in the question area too but: What are things you would want/wish your friends and family members would do to make you feel supported as a mom? What are things you wish you received in a pregnancy care package? How could I support a laboring mom if I'm invited in that sacred room/space? I come from a big family and have a lot of cousins having kids. And if anyone happens to see this feel free to comment or inbox me even. I'm literally here to listen and learn because I'm not having kids. I haven't been there, so I don't know what it's REALLY like, you know what I mean? Just trying to be supportive and taking notes as the auntie on duty. Thanks everyone in advance for all suggestions and advice, I need all the help I can get on this.

Just a suggestion.. if I may, take turns getting like 3 hours rest. So Alfred can look after Liala for 3 hours while you sleep after she has nursed. When you wake, he can get 3 hours while you nurse her and look after her.

I’m so happy your birth experience was so positive! Lyla is just so gorgeous. Alfred was so supportive and your doula was wonderful. Watching you do that final push in the water I felt like I was there with you lol.
I wanted to do non-medicated as well but because I was a week and a half late the doctor gave me pitocin to kick start my labor. And unfortunately after 16 hours of hard labor with no real progress we had to do a c-section because my baby was in distress. The positive thing was my husband got to watch the surgery and truly appreciated everything I went through to bring our precious daughter into this world! ❤️

Like really! Guys you can give birth for few days!
Tina you stayed so calm and stay at home for few hours!
Both of my births were at hospital nearly from start, but I wasn't here for long (4 and 0,5h)... And I can say it was nothing compared to girls giving birth for 12,20 hours or 2-3 or more days!

Babies learn how to dive in water and swim very quickly, because they were in liquid for about 9 months. So if you want your baby to learn how to swim and hold their breath under water, then you could start schooling them for that with a swimming teacher :) that way the baby will learn faster than when she/he is older. 😊

Question for your Doula: what are tips for handling back labor? Especially back labor so intense that it stalls your labor.
My labor with my firstborn was 35 hours and I had back labor the while time. I was at home for the first 24 hours and got admitted into the hospital when I was a 4. I reached a 5 an hour later, but stayed at a 5 for the next 6 hours. My contractions were 1 minute apart and so intense I was crying. I finally got an epidural and was a 10 a few hours later and pushing.
My second born was basically the same experience. Back labor from the very first contraction. Only this time my labor was 25 hours. I was at home for 15 hours of it, got to the hospital at a 5, and stalled out at a 6 with contractions 1 minute apart so painful I was crying, and was pushing within 2 hours of an epidural.
I am currently 5 months pregnant again, and I am not against getting another epidural if I have a similar experience again. But I really would like to handle the pain better so that I am able to enjoy my birth experience more.
Side note: My partner for the first 2 was present, but not very involved. My now husband is incredibly supportive and will do absolutely anything to help me through it.

Thank you for talking so openly about your labor. We as modern people living in this time, being imprinted by Hollywood, we forget that women are made to do that. Many of us only have one baby and don't get to the point of a "stress less" labor having experience. I am very thankful for having hospitals and all that but I think many women are pushed into pain medication instead of being calmed down and get trough it without. Our moms or grandmother's did it mostly without medication, we as human beings do that for millions of years without pain medication. We can do it and shouldn't fear it. I don't want the times back as many mothers and baby's died in labor, don't get me wrong but we tend to neglect nature and the time after giving birth can be more troublesome when we skip the hard work ☺️ my thoughts

Fun fact lol: doctors usually only come just as the baby is coming out, because if they aren't there for the "actual birth" then they don't get paid! Back in the day, nurses would force women to hold the baby in, or use their hand to stop the baby from coming out, until the doctor got there. It lead to alot of babies dying and having brain damage due to lack of oxygen. Look up The Kennedys (yes, the president) it happened to their sister.
Not painful? We all saw the vlog....those weren't "sensation screams" those were "theres a baby coming out of my body and its HURTS screams!"

For me both births (first was unmedicated not by choice, 2nd had an epidural but still felt quite a bit but a lot better of an experience for sure) when I felt like I was gonna poop, it was time. First time I told them I needed to get to the toilet to poo and they checked me and I started pushing. 2nd time they tried to put me off when I said I felt I needed to get to the toilet but my mom went to the nurses and told them they better check me because of the first time and once more I was ready to push. I'd take the ring of fire over contractions any day. Love hearing others experiences. Especially ones who CHOOSE no epidural.

I love how you call us unties and uncles so sweet of you.
Thank you for sharing us your birth experience, i truly want to become a mom one day and I'm afraid of birth. Probably because of lack of knowledge i remember when i was a teen i thought it's painful down there that's why they scream but it's actually the labor contractions! Because of your vlog. I want to experience normal delivery birth also but i have things to consider still such as i have hemorrhoids, 8 inch Long surgery stitch from my raptured appendix so yeah. Childbearing and Birth is just so beautiful. ❤️

I am so jealous of women who had an easy going labor. I had a traumatic labor for my first baby. I didnt have a doula or any support so I didn’t know what to do. Doctors just kept telling me to push and threaten me with csection which caused more stress. I am giving birth in two months at a different hospital and hopefully it will be a better experience.

Hi Tina, I’m a long time subscriber but think might be the first video that I’m commenting on. I am expecting our daughter in roughly a month and a half now and your videos have made me feel so much calmer about the process. You are always open and honest in your videos but hearing about your own experience and your thoughts help me prepare myself mentally. I just wanted to express my gratitude since I can see that having a newborn and making these videos at the same time cannot be easy. And congratulations on your birth!!

When my son was due, he never came, so my midwife induced me with plitocin 2 weeks after my due date.
I was so disappointed because that meant that I wasn't able to do a water birth, or be at home or even the chance of giving birth naturally was unlikely.
I tried to do non-medicated birth, but my plitocin contractions were so incredibly painful, one right after the other that I would have passed out if I didn't get an epidural.
All in all, I'd say my birth experience was pretty positive..even though I didn't get the kind of birth that I had planned, my son was healthy and thats what mattered to me. :)

The whole birth video was sooo intense but calming at times cuz I've been there. But I was forced to do C-section instead. cuz just one day after my clinical appointment, turns out my baby decided to "tumble" herself in my belly. So I had breech baby

Omg when you called us aunts and uncles my heart burst!! 🥰😍 Lyla is so cute! My question is about the epi-no device, here in the US we can't use that device specifically, it's banned and we can't buy it. Is there any other device or method that would do the same thing? Or any thing that us US women would be able to do to help with tearing?

I watched your video, but to me your video was exactly like in the movies. The way you were screeming and how it all lasted so many hours... I am traumatised to know it is like that in real life too. I now know I can never do this. I won't become a mom. Major respect to everyone who can go through something like that.

I did hypnobirthing too with my first baby and I was so touched by your vlog that I definitely want to do it again. I'm due in November :) I had a lot more back pressure during birth it was super intense... I got some pain medication but it did NOTHING but made me sleepy. No epidural though. I think if I had stayed home after my water broke I could have avoided a lot of medical intervention. Also my room had a tub but my doctor sucked and didn't let me use it at all. ugh. This time I have midwives and they are so awesome and I'm excited. also IT DEFINITELY GETS BETTER!!!! Time just keeps passing and you will recover from the first few months, :)

Hi Tina! Can you please share your belly care routine (that you did during pregnancy and post partum). I'm currently in my second month of my third pregnancy (the previous two ended in MCs) so I have.. three pregnancy worth of stretch marks 😅. I'm trying my best to keep the skin hydrated and soft but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Much appreciated.

Just wait when her personality starts to develop and starts showing, from there on it's like magic taking care of her. At least that's what has happened with my nephew, even I saw the difference and was able to connect with him more. It will get easier from that point on😉
