I'm sorry that happened. I'm glad you weren't pregnant because that horrible, hateful woman saying that to someone that she thought was pregnant is absolutely disgusting! You know if you had been, I assume that interaction would've caused all kinds of heightened emotions(Just hearing about it makes me so mad!!)including stress. So looking at and listening to her ugly bitchy face would be more problematic than a cup of coffee. I wish people would just be nice to each other.🌸✨🌸✨🌸✨🌸
Ugh I hate people who judge pregnant women! From what I hear pregnancy is SUPER challenging as it is and the last need thing you need is asshole strangers who think they know more than you and can just boss you around lol
My oldest daughter is 30 and my youngest is 21. I honestly can’t remember too much about being pregnant nor labor and I had five. I do know a lot of these myths have been around forever bc I heard these when I was pregnant. This video just reminded me of what people told me way back when.
Zia Smiles I’m 11 and I watched this XD I’m keepin track of this vid for when I get a cat baby, I’m gonna get a cat baby cuz human baby’s are overrated ;-;”
To all the pregnant women. Just take care of yourself during and after your pregnancy. Take time to yourselves. It’s ok to ask for help. I didn’t take very good care of myself after and as a result I developed a thyroid disorder. You bring a life into this world but don’t forget about yourself. It’s easy for a mother to do that.
GoldenXBoots girl pls do. The last thing you want is a child without its mother. Taking care of yourself after pregnancy is so vital. Take that 30 mins shower. Take 5 min to drink ur tea in peace. Take care of yourself and congrats :) on all ur blessings
@Franklin Franklin Congratulations!!! And it's so sweet and helpful of you. I am sure your wife is lucky to have you! I pray that your baby will be born healthy and strong.
I love the way the one OB/GYN looks at the other with such admiration. They seem to agree on all these topics and I just really love how much they support each other.
Ive been having TERRIBLE morning sickness but the lemon thing she talked about is so trueee. I thought I was about to throw up again, but I took a lemon and started sucking on it and it was relieved immeditaly. For mamas out there struggling with the same thing: *LEMONS*
Thank you for making these videos. As someone who has been through fertility with no luck and adoptions and is now pregnant for the first time at 40, this is very helpful!
Congratulations! Did you have your little baby yet? I’m 38 weeks and almost ready to serve baby boy his eviction letter lol. He’ll probably just laugh in my face on my due date 🤦🏾♀️😅
When she said water makes you sick I literally screamed out YES! I felt so validated. I’m trying to stay hydrated but when I try to drink water it just makes me feel so gross.
Right! I feel so much better hearing this cause I could not keep water down with either of my pregnancies and nobody believed me that it was the water and they said I needed to drink more, but I was just drinking whatever would stay down to survive the first trimester...
Ginger ale over ice is the best for morning sickness!! I couldn’t drink water in my first trimester either, I drank plain ginger ale or cranberry ginger ale. Every now and then I had lemon Gatorade. As long as you’re able to drink something, that’s all that matters :)
I’m happy to know I can, as I used to love coffee, but I can’t even stand the smell of it while pregnant. I’m over half way through at 22 weeks, so I don’t think that’s going to come back 😭
@@2armylife I’m 28 weeks and am missing coffee, it helped my morning sickness but now I live with my bf and his parents and we don’t have a coffee maker
I can confirm from personal experience that alcohol gets in breast milk. When I was a lil baby and still drinking breast milk my mom went out and got drunk when she came back she felt guilty for leaving so she took a shower and slept in a giant shirt without a bra and just held me but my baby self was like “it’s time to feast” so I ended up breast feeding myself and getting drunk and scared the crap outta my mom because she thought I was gonna die because I fell asleep for 14 hours.....and that’s the story of my first drink
The amount of alcohol that goes into your milk is insignificant. She would have had to drink a whoooole lot for you to get drunk. The danger in drinking while breastfeeding is trying to feed your baby while drunk and dropping them
There are actually tests that look like pregnancy test to see if there is alcohol in your breast milk. Saw them at Walmart on special. I don't drink but I love the clearance section
I remember asking my mom about the “pregnancy glow” and her laughing saying “it’s not a glow it’s sweat from throwing up & feeling like crap all day” 😂 😭 so not excited for morning sickness when I get pregnant lmao
Kiera Theresa i think it’s Differenz for every woman. When I was pregnant people told me how good i looked. However, once I had my son I felt like I aged 10 years from the sleep deprivation and my mum kept telling me I looked terrible.
Ikr I remember this lady ask if I wear makeup & I said no & she was like your skin is glowing & I'm like ah probably because I drink a lot of water lol
Had my first child at 16 ! 22 years ago! Back then we only had myths by the other generation currently pregnant with my IVF miracle baby and Thank god for UA-cam and google So informative and much better insight on pregnancy overall!! Thank You!!!
I found out that I’m pregnant yesterday (I’m soo excited). Scrambling to figure out what I should and shouldn’t be eating/doing - this video is really helpful.
As a flight att of 16 years, I will tell you that flying well into your 3rd trimester is heavily discouraged. Not because of radiation exposure or a “risk factor” but more because of the possibility of being extremely uncomfortable. Seats are small and should it be a turbulent flight and or the possibility of delays, you may not have an option to get up to walk and stretch as recommended by your doctors.
@@katemiller7874 There are different concerns. I know people who were scared to fly at three months because they were worried the air pressure would hurt their baby. Medically speaking, flying is safe. There are other non-medical concerns, but that's not what they were talking about.
I'm pretty sure they assume the viewer has a minimum amount of common sense when debunking these myths. They are replying to the myth of "pregnant woman shouldn't fly" which is not true, but of course you have to take into consideration your situation and how long the flight is. The same applies to working out and excercising during pregancy. Of course you can, that doesn't mean it's a good idea to run a marathon or powerlift on your 3rd trimester...
I am trying to figure this one out... I know these MDs say smoked salmon is fine, but does that mean cold smoked salmon (lox, etc.) is acceptable without cooking? I really want bagels and lox!
I like the 2 doctors dynamic! I think both of these women, at least their style of stating facts is very important to hear. Sometimes you have to hear the raw truth without the sweet talk, and sometimes you need more gentle energy! I love it , these women make the world a better place
I always wondered about this as well. I'm currently in the 2nd Trimester of my 2nd pregnancy and with both "morning sickness" has actually been on and off 24 hours/all day. I'm hoping it'll start to get better but that morning thing is not reality for me.
Probably due to misinformation, but it does tend to be bad for many women in the early morning, or any other time they have an empty stomach. I got naseous for an all manner of different reasons in my first trimester though. Smells, an overly full stomach, drinking water too quickly... The list goes on.
NoBSsplsbtch literally, I was just talking about the slightest and smallest chance of being pregnant and this popped up as soon as I was done talking 😂
Trueee I think its because the room lighting doesnt match the green screen light. The background was too light and it looks too different from the people standing in front of it.
I just found out I'm pregnant with my first kid and this was both informative and amusing to watch. Thanks for making me laugh during these,,,,, trying times lol.
All I can think about is acid reflux and heart burn the minute I put the lemon in my mouth. I’m 37 weeks and still have morning sickness. And my heart burn is horrible. All I can do is smell lemons and hope is helps.
jessie school I take them at night before bed because I have to take thyroid pills on an empty stomach in the mornings and can’t take any other medications for four hours after.
Im sorry you have to go through that. I take thyroid pills too and prenatals at night. I stopped having morning sickness around 18 weeks. Im 29 weeks now but anyways, my mom had morning sickness through the whole pregnancy with both me and my sisters. Youre almost there tho! ❤ and i know how much it sucks so again im sorry.
I’m so happy I watched this.. first pregnancy and I’ve been googling non stop and have seen most of these myths over the internet now I can stop worrying & just enjoy my pregnancy...
Same! I’m 14 weeks and have been so scared of doing anything, because all the myths are just like YOU ARE KILLING YOUR BABY no matter what I do 🤷🏼♀️ it’s so nice to hear things are a myth!
So .... you're telling me I was forced to get rid of my cat when my sister was pregnant BECAUSE OF A MYTH!!!????? Edit: yeah this happened when I was 14 (yyyears ago) lol you guys are giving me suggestions on what I should've done. I could have made a PowerPoint presentation listing all the reasons why I could keep the cat but once a black parent makes a decision that is the decision that they've made so hahaha thanks though
That stupid myth was fed to me by my GP who tried to make me get rid of my cat or at least never pet her while pregnant and I just laughed at him. The myth annoys me a lot.
Being pregnant is absolutely the hardest and worst thing I've ever done to myself. And everyone just keeps saying "you'll be fine" "its all for the baby" "you'll forget all about it when the babys here" That's so unhelpful and rude. I'm in hell i don't care that ill feel better in a few months. So awful.
I would also like to add also recovering from pregnancy and childbirth. The worst, especially if you’re lacking support. Everyone is there to take care of baby especially mom-don’t even get me started on breastfeeding every 2 hours-but mom often gets neglected
Omg same ! I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and will never ever do this again, although I havnt anything medically wrong with me which is a blessing I've had every symptom that comes with pregnancy back ache, constipation, piles even bloomin toothache ! 😅. It's been a challenge both physically and mentally and I really feel like I got bamboozled slightly because everyone told me pregnancy isn't so bad .. They lied 😅😅 I cant wait till this is all over, c section booked in about 10 days !!!! Then I'll never have to be pregnant again 😅😅 lol xx
I'm sorry it's been tough for you. The only one of those comments that is actually helpful in any way is that you really will forget about the hardship after the baby arrives. It's really hard right now, but those experiences end up melting away once you look into your baby's eyes. Keep pushing through and do everything you can to make yourself more comfortable.
If you worked though the summer in a factory while very pregnant, you would agree with me. If you do not sweat all the time during your pregnancy, you are very lucky.
yes, that's about as good as their "comedy" gets. meanwhile, the rest of us don't know why anyone would pay a quarter mil to become a laughingstock rockefeller slave in a stolen little labcoat. so i guess we're even stevens. lmao
I always hear pregnant women say they are overwhelmed with the amount of info people want to give them but as a reclusive introvert I just keep wondering who those people are. Where are they coming from? Surely your friends with kids would tell you what they experienced.... Do strangers just break the ice by sharing ridiculous myths or something? (p,s congrats on your little one)
Me too I just found out I was pregnant yesterday & ive been googling everything and see all these myths so I’m glad I came across this video now I know what’s definitely not true & I can stop worrying so much 🤣
Ideges_Csillag Awh thank you! And to be honest it’s mainly the internet and articles that spread these lies and myths, so any new mums that google stuff end up getting scared to do anything!! Thank you☺️☺️☺️
Ideges_Csillag for me it’s family, friends, colleagues, and for example hairdresser. EVERYONE has the need to spread their knowledge/opinions without asking. Really irritating, especially when you are anxious person like me 😢
Me too! I’ve been told I’m already a bad mom for not getting a pregnancy pillow, I can’t eat... Well, anything. Or drink. Or move. It’s so strange how everyone has an opinion and it’s rarely right 🙃
I wish these ladies were by OBGYN. Where I come from, we really lack such empathetic, kind doctors who properly and patiently explain to their patients no matter how silly the questions sound. The emotional bond we as patients built with our doctors is so important for our mental health as well.
My skin broke tf out when I got pregnant! And I had postpartum shedding which I didn't know about until after it happened as well. Pregnancy is not all its cracked up to be, the best part was not having my period the whole time. No one told me the truth about how hard it is being pregnant.
Every woman is different. I’m 38 weeks with my first and my pregnancy has been really easy! I’ve never once had morning sickness or acid reflux and I’ve only gained about 15 pounds (most of which came in 3rd trimester. No swelling anywhere. I have muscle cramps now in my legs and groin/pelvic pain because it’s late in my pregnancy and normal. You will never truly know how your body will react to being pregnant until you are. To each her own. 🤷🏾♀️
I was drinking sooo much water my 1st trimester I was always hot and thirsty I felt dehydrated just going for a 5min walk with the dog. My dr told me though try to not drink as much water or I'll give myself brain damage because I was drinking up to 10/12 water bottles per day so he cut me down to 6max and 4glasses of milk. Now that I'm in my 2nd trimester i finally feel like a sane person again
Thank you for sharing that there is no safe time or amount of alcohol to drink during pregnancy. As an adoptive mom of 2 kids with FASD I am acutely aware of the realities of what a permanent traumatic brain injury caused by prenatal alcohol consumption looks like… it’s easy to scoff it away until/unless it happens to you or someone you love. Then it’s a lifelong disability.
My 90 year old grandmother has accurately guessed the sex of all 7 of her great-grandchildren based on weird old wives tales, including the belly shape/location. Maybe Nana knows something we don't? Or she's just a damn good guesser!
She just got lucky. She has a 50/50 shot of being right each time. It's like people who seem to always win the coin toss. I recently read a book about obstetrical folklore. It was interesting to see all the crazy things people have believed throughout the millennia, and how most of them are total crap. Including the pseudoscientific ones, like how baby's heart rate can supposedly predict the gender.
@@hannahroyle2886 the odds of being right on a 50/50 guess 7/7 times is less than 1% (0.78%). So she would have to either be VERY lucky or there might be something to her tricks (or the poster just forgot the times grandma was wrong)
Noooo omg I've had all kinds of unwelcome people coming up to me and saying all kinds of those especially stupid but common myths. I wasnt interested enough to look it up but at least this way I know if I ever plan on telling someone they're wrong theres actual research I can look up to prove it. Everyone says this stuff ugh.
7 months pregnant and was told about the cat thing and I have not had any problems with my fur child. She has became way more protective of me now that I’m pregnant and it’s the cutest thing ever.
My kitty has become a lot more cuddly too! She sleeps either on top of or right next to my belly at night (it's not super big yet so she can still get away with it lol)
@@katemiller7874 that's not true you can only not clean the litter box if you don't have toxoplasmosis antibodies prior to getting pregnant. Which is easy to test. So if you have those antibodies you are fine and can clean the litter box as you are immune and can't be infected with the toxplasma again. Only if you've never been infected with toxplasma therefore don't have antibodies against them this is correct. Because only if you are infected with them during pregnancy they will cause issues. Otherwise nothing will happen as you are immune.
Science Insider is so good at choosing the right experts to debunk all the myths. They all give off positive vibes. It makes me want to listen to them without being distracted. ♥️
Key thing these TRAINED/LICENSED doctors spoke on was factual medical EVIDENCE or the lack there of. Not the stuff people googled or think they learned on an blog page created by an untrained/unlicensed person.
There are also things they say have no evidence, but do have evidence. Women have been drinking wine throughout pregnancy for generations in Europe. It is safe in Europe under a certain amount. They only say there is no proven safe amount, because light drinking isn't a cultural thing in the US and heavy drinking is KNOWN dangerous.
ShogunofSarcasm they say there’s no evidence because there’s no way to physically test any of the possible problems in a fetus whether or be physical or mental. You can’t test the fetus mental capacity before and after alcohol or any of its affects because it’s just not possible. So because you can’t test it, it’s safer to say don’t use alcohol. Just because a woman drinks doesn’t mean the baby will have developmental issues, but it also doesn’t mean the baby won’t have developmental issues. There’s no way to test it.
@@calired7090 there are studies that have been done. There is zero evidence that 1 properly measured drink a day is harmful. There was a study in England that showed no impact on the IQ of children who's birth mother drank small amounts of alcohol daily Vs a noticeable impact on children of mothers who has more than 4 drinks a day. The one study I have seen that showed a negative impact for small amounts of drinking didn't separate it from cocaine usage which is KNOWN dangerous. Binge drinking is proven harmful, large amounts of drinking is proven harmful, both can lead to miscarriages and premature birth. Light drinking as in 1 a day or 1 a week is not known to cause either, and some studies have shown they are less likely to lead to premature birth. So there have been many studies done. There is lots of proof. The US just doesn't have the same drinking culture that Europe has so people are afraid to outright say 1 is fine, because one drink can mean a bottle of liquor to some people, and that would be harmful. It is better to discourage it. I have no issues with a pregnant woman having a measured glass of wine with dinner once in a while. The studies show it is fine.
@@ShogunofSarcasm that's true! They say "we don't know how much alcohol intake is safe... so don't drink any". Well, that's BS. Of course they don't know... they won't do experiments with increasing alcohol intakes until they potencially harm babies... duh! Here in wine-countries like Portugal, Italy or Spain, most mothers drink 1-2 half-glasses at meal-times (red or white), once/twice a week. No problem what so ever!!
@@celia-ov6rm exactly!!! There are even studies done in countries like that that have proven it safe in small amounts. It is just hard to change the drinking culture in the US
Definitely. Try Palmer's medicated complexion soap. It's the only thing that's been working for my pregnancy acne. I use it as regular soap. It stinks but it's working.
I think sulfur creams are safe in pregnancy (if you can stand the smell) but not some other acne product ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and renoids/retinals/Vitamin A (though I still use rosehip oil on my face, high in Vitamin A, and my son is developing fine).
@@carolyne803 So you use a product - rosehip oil - that you've been told not to use during pregnancy? And say that's okay because your son is "developing fine"? But if you were told he wasn't developing fine the damage would be there already, wouldn't it?
As someone who is currently pregnant, this is very useful. I did for sure know that no alcohol is safe while pregnant so as an alcoholic I had to "cold turkey" it but stayed with a friend in case I had to go to the emergency room as a result.
@ArtByLaCo it certainly has not been an easy journey. Since I made that comment my husband left me, I lost my job, and lost my home, but luckily my dad is letting me stay with him. It's a lot mentally and emotionally and my son nearly died at birth so there was an emergency c section, it was terrifying. He's nearly six months old now, giggles a lot and is nearly always smiling. Through it all I wouldn't change it for worlds, I still have not drank and he's so worth the effort! Just don't give up!
@@joaks9178 Gosh I'm so sorry you've had such a lot to go through, that's really tough. Becoming a new parent is tough enough on its own without all of that! But you are such a warrior! To still not be drinking through all of that is incredible! You should be so so proud of yourself. I think there was an 'old' you that attracted certain people and opportunities, but now there is a 'new' you that is going to be drawn towards people and opportunities more suited to the person (warrior!) you have become. You are an inspiration to your son ❤️ I'm 23 weeks pregnant with baby number 2, who is a little boy. Let's hope he is as healthy and happy as yours 🥰
This was very educational ! I’m 9 weeks pregnant 🤰 and I learned a lot . Good to know that nothing helps induce labor so I can cut the extraness out already ! Wow
I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant - my facial skin has become so dry whereas my hair has become quite nice 😂 some foods I used to love have now made me sick eg eggs and prawns. Pregnancy is a lot harder than I thought (no one told you!!) 🙂
Every person is different. My mom said, she threw up every day, till baby's birth. I only had typical 3 months morning sickness. Some have none. Some don't even know they are pregnant, then give birth. lol.
What actually really helps with the nausea is eating light portions throughout the day instead of 3 big meals... Usually, the sicknesses seems to be related to decrease in blood sugar
It definitely helps, but doesn't cure the nausea. Figuring out your trigger foods can help as well. Like during my first pregnancy, meat set it off. During my second, it is tomatoes, peppers, and mushrooms.
@@laurao3274 well, mine weren't so strong, but 1 gummy bear (2 when nausea got stronger) before/while getting up got me through most of my 3 weeks of nausea after I had the idea of eating them. But I did hav snack at 10:30, and a snack broken throughout the afternoon. Plus eat dinner earlier. 😅
I can agree. For me so far, that is. I got hit with the nausea at the start of this week and it’s been so overwhelming and ruining my mood about pregnancy. But I’ve found that snacking throughout the day has really helped. Since my nausea hits me hard in the morning and before bed.
My mother-in-law tried telling me I shouldn’t raise my hands over my head because it would make the umbilical cord wrap around the baby’s neck. Keep in mind, she adopted both her kids and has never been pregnant. I immediately threw out all the “helpful advice” she tried to give.
I had an unmedicated, natural breech birth! Not a C-section. I was almost 2 weeks overdue, walking every day and between my 38 week scan and my labor starting, my baby boy flipped up when he was head down. It is absolutely true that providers rarely know how to deliver a breech baby. When we transferred from our assisted home birth to the hospital while I was pushing and my sons butt was presenting, the whole ER OBGYN staff freaked out and after realizing he was coming out and I was begging them to let me squat and just help me guide him out, they forced me on my back and 4 people literally put their hands into my vagina, tore me and pulled my baby out! That is NOT how you deliver a breech baby. We had detailed notes of when my water broke, when I started pushing, the length of contractions, my baby’s heart rate during labor, no meconium being present in my waters, etc. They didn’t believe me and was sure my baby was dying! They said that to me! I was so angry! We were having a beautiful home birth and then because of their fear, literally ripped my son out of me. We were giving birth in Montana instead of our home state of Texas and I would definitely get an extra scan around 40 weeks to ensure my baby was still head down. That’s the only thing I’d do differently. We’re now 9 weeks pregnant and we are still planning to have another home birth with a mid wife. This time I’m getting extra scans to ensure baby is head down. Any woman can have a natural birth! I did and it was not as painful as many state. I anticipated the pain during contractions and prepared myself. The most painful part was when my son was coming out and it was made worse because my son was pulled out!
Luana Ls how many weeks were you when you gave birth? 🤦🏻♀️😂 natural or csection? Sorry. I’ve had 5 kids including twins and it drives me mad when people refer to their pets as babies 😂😂
Alicia I had 2 natural births of both my girl cats I was in labor for 6hrs for my first than 10 with my second whew it was hard😔 now I’m 31weeks pregnant with my first human boy I hope it goes better than that 😂
"Your hair and your skin look better when you're pregnant." I giggled at that one. 😂 I'm 30 weeks pregnant and my skin is so broke out and dehydrated. My hair is doing better now but during the first half of my pregnancy, it was falling out A LOT.
I was in the 3% baby girl was breech full term and they did an ECV to flip her but then she was facing the wrong way sunny side up and was a painful birth 🫣 God willingly we were able to get her out no c section ❤️🙏🏼
Seapancakx actually Lisa Kudrow couldn’t fly to England for the filming due to her pregnancy so that is why they put that storyline into the episode. I’m sure there are some reasons why some women can’t fly, maybe they are having a high risk pregnancy or maybe they are so close to their due date that they just don’t want to risk not being close to their ob and chosen hospital.
I don't think she could because she was too far into the pregnancy and she probably didnt want to give birth in another country, especially because she was high risk with triplets
Probably more likely that the insurance for the filming company wouldn't cover having a pregnant actor travel for work to the UK, rather than the actual flight would have been dangerous for the baby or parent.
“Your belly reveals the baby’s gender” When I was pregnant with my first baby and stranger came up to me and said “you are having a boy! I can tell by how you are carrying!” I said, “actually it’s a girl” to which she replied, “are you sure?” I said, “yes. I’ve had two ultrasounds and both say girl.” She looked at me sideways and said, “we will see” then walked off lol. I’m now 2 weeks away from having baby girl number 4 and carried them all the same way 😂
I carried super high with my boy. People would get downright nasty to me when they would say I was having a girl and I would disagree. The same with my girl. I carried her super low and everyone was getting offended when I told them she wasn't a boy. People are weird 😂
I carried both my girls in extremely different ways. Everyone thought I was going to have a boy with my second the way I carried her but here I am with another girl lol
After this video and many like it, pregnancy just seems like something I rather not partake in. There’s a lot of sacrifices to it and precautions. And while not impossible to do, it’s not for me. I respect women who’ve taken the decision to have children and become pregnant though. That being said, I am more than happy to adopt a child and raise them in a good, stable home that they deserve. I still want kids. And there’s just so many children left, parentless in the world. Id want to take on the responsibility and care for them as a parent and give them a better life.
I'm also planning on adopting, though for different reasons I won't disclose. The purpose of reproduction is anyway just to immortalize information, and nowadays, environmentally acquired information plays a greater role in your actions and success than genetic information. So the person who takes the time to form a familial relationship with a child, and inspires them to carry on their culture, values and philosophies, is the real parent.
But studies have shown the caffeine stays in the system for 300 hrs. So. Cut down on coffee. It's for the health of the baby. Not about the moms crave for coffee or caffeine.
Coffee is so healthy and helpful in pregnancy! Keeping it under 100 grams a day is perfectly safe, even recommended by obstetricians. It can help balance the acid in the stomach, aiding in nausea. It increases energy so momma can actually function instead of shutting down, it helps with moods and attitude, it helps with pregnancy brain, it’s one of the few things you can have without worrying about it affecting baby whatsoever. Coffee has been so great for me this pregnancy. There’s no proof it hurts baby without some other underlying cause. 1 cup a day is fine!
I’m currently 8 months pregnant with my daughter and I appreciate this video so much. I was so scared of so many things but they helped me feel so much relief.
My mother craved a dish called Pintos and Cheese from Taco Bell and it was the only thing that would cure her morning sickness... Taco Bell bean and cheese burritos was a treat nearly on the same level as ice cream for me growing up... Idk I was a weird kid
I’m not a doctor, but everyone I tell swears by it, I think the “pregnant women should sleep on their left side” thing isn’t a rule, just a suggestion because if you’re like me, I had THE WORST heartburn when I was pregnant, every second of the day even if all I’d eaten was some eggs and dry toast. So, laying on my left side helped a bit because it’s a longer travel for acids from your stomach to your esophagus when you’re on your left side. It helps my brother too and he’s obviously not pregnant, just gets heart burn as a side effect of a medication he’s on. So if you’re pregnant or not, sleeping on your left may help with acid reflux so you don’t feel that burn when you wake up in the morning 🤘🏼
Sleeping on the left side is the best position for anyone to sleep in, pregnant or not. Plus pregnant women have more cause to sleep on their side anyway. So you add the two up and the advice to sleep on your left side makes sense even if it's not absolutely necessary.
Ey, thanks or letting us know. Now every night I have to choose: Do I want a sore shoulder or heart burn when I wake up tomorrow? It's great to have options.
@@Lightning_Lance Left side sleeping is better if you have heartburn or gas. What evidence is there that sleeping on the left side is the best position for *everyone* to sleep in? If someone finds sleeping on their left side to be uncomfortable/less comfortable then obviously it's not the best position for that person. Good sleep is the ultimate priority which means whatever position is most comfortable, with the exception of sleeping on the stomach since that can cause breathing issues as well as problems with the spine. People should avoid that unless it's the _only_ way they can fall asleep.
This is a good point about breech. I was a full breech baby. My Mother could not have C-section. I was delivered by a person WITHOUT any experience with breech babies. There were a lot of complications. All of my limbs were severely damaged during the delivery. Up to this day, a few decades later, I am still in and out of physical therapy. Make sure to find a competent specialist, or your baby will end up like me. I am sitting here with a heating pad over my twisted shoulders, as I am typing this :)
I loved this! currently pregnant and so many relatable concerns! I'll be over here eating a hot dog, sleeping on my back and petting my cat :) also pregnancy acne is REAL, really unfortunate!

One lady judged me for ordering coffee once. She was like “I hope you don’t miscarry”. I wasn’t even pregnant, just bloated
What an asshole she was. I’m sorry you had to go through that ❤️

I'm sorry that happened. I'm glad you weren't pregnant because that horrible, hateful woman saying that to someone that she thought was pregnant is absolutely disgusting!

I’m not even pregnant and I relate to this
Ginger ale over ice is the best for morning sickness!! I couldn’t drink water in my first trimester either, I drank plain ginger ale or cranberry ginger ale. Every now and then I had lemon Gatorade. As long as you’re able to drink something, that’s all that matters :)
Tap water was the worst for me. In my first pregnancy it was the only thing that actually made me throw up
You are definitely not alone! Its terrible... hopefully adding some lemon will help.

This shouldn't have made me laugh so hard, omg.. I'm sorry your lil baby self got so turnt, so early in life.
Okay. It is so funny, sorry🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂sorry for laughing,this is 2 cute
The amount of alcohol that goes into your milk is insignificant. She would have had to drink a whoooole lot for you to get drunk. The danger in drinking while breastfeeding is trying to feed your baby while drunk and dropping them
There are actually tests that look like pregnancy test to see if there is alcohol in your breast milk. Saw them at Walmart on special. I don't drink but I love the clearance section

I always assumed it’s because in case you give birth while on the flight and the chances of a medical doctor around is very slim
Same! FA of 15 years. I’m going to stop around 7 months. I hope to be able to go that long.
Yes I can’t believe these ladies are saying that plus they don’t want you to go into labor on a plane.
I have spent my whole pregnancy avoiding smoked salmon only to watch this video on day 1 of my 9th month. Wow.

Why do they call it “morning sickness”? When your really sick at anytime during the day.
That's what I want to know. I didn't know till I saw my sister and on my 3rd pregnancy...I got it bad for almost my whole pregnancy 😭 it was horrible
A lot of people get it in the morning from having low blood sugar cause they haven’t eaten for like 8 hours or more.
I always wondered about this as well. I'm currently in the 2nd Trimester of my 2nd pregnancy and with both "morning sickness" has actually been on and off 24 hours/all day. I'm hoping it'll start to get better but that morning thing is not reality for me.
Exactly
Probably due to misinformation, but it does tend to be bad for many women in the early morning, or any other time they have an empty stomach. I got naseous for an all manner of different reasons in my first trimester though. Smells, an overly full stomach, drinking water too quickly... The list goes on.

Fr it's tough.
I have bad periods, but losing a week a month of misery does not make up for my horrible pregnancies. Being pregnant is worse than periods for me.
Note to self: don’t get pregnant
Every woman is different. I’m 38 weeks with my first and my pregnancy has been really easy! I’ve never once had morning sickness or acid reflux and I’ve only gained about 15 pounds (most of which came in 3rd trimester. No swelling anywhere. Thank you for sharing that there is no safe time or amount of alcohol to drink during pregnancy. 7 months pregnant and was told about the cat thing and I have not had any problems with my fur child. She has became way more protective of me now that I’m pregnant and it’s the cutest thing ever.
Out of all my pets (1 cat and 2 dogs) my lil man knew first. Always by my belly and at night, we legitimately snuggle and spoon one another.
Cats are fine you just can’t clean the litter box
@@katemiller7874 You can if you wear gloves and a mask.
It is just hard to change the drinking culture in the US
I knew the hair/skin thing is a myth... bc I’m pregnant, and had beautiful skin before becoming pregnant. Now I’m pimples mchghee in comparison 😂😂😂
Congrats, Ladies!!!!

Good for you! Already being a good mom!
Wow! That's amazing! Well done you 👏😍 That's stepping up right there
Also an alcoholic that quit cold turkey. Just a bit concerned because I found out I was pregnant unexpectedly at 5 weeks.

"Exercise during pregnancy can strangle the baby"
😳 She and I had the same reaction lol. I've never heard that before.
Strangle no! But my mil told me that if I exercise than I will miscarry cause her mother did. Some people are so uneducated
My baby is a cat but I will remember not to drink wine when breastfeeding her
And don't eat her poop either. No matter how delicious it looks (toxic osmosis... gotta be careful).
Luana Ls how many weeks were you when you gave birth? 🤦🏻♀️😂 natural or csection? Sorry. I’ve had 5 kids including twins and it drives me mad when people refer to their pets as babies 😂😂
@ghostly May you share the name of the surgeon who removed your humor gland?
Alicia I had 2 natural births of both my girl cats I was in labor for 6hrs for my first than 10 with my second whew it was hard😔 now I’m 31weeks pregnant with my first human boy I hope it goes better than that 😂

"Your hair and your skin look better when you're pregnant." I giggled at that one. 😂 I'm 30 weeks pregnant and my skin is so broke out and dehydrated. My hair is doing better now but during the first half of my pregnancy, it was falling out A LOT.
Lol same I have so many pimples i usually have a clear face
I broke out in a lot of acne during my last pregnancy. Not a huge amount, just a lot for me. I don't get acne as often unless I'm on my period.
1st baby I had beautiful skin and no hair loss. This baby, I literally have a bald spot. My doctor was like 🤷♀️
My skin breaks out a lot (I get pimples and acne at unusual place), my hair is dry and ugly ...
For me it was true. My hair and my nails were never better than during my two pregnancies.
I'm embarassed to say that most of these myths have been taught to me in my Child Development class 😬😬
Oh no!
😂
I was in the 3% baby girl was breech full term and they did an ECV to flip her but then she was facing the wrong way sunny side up and was a painful birth 🫣 God willingly we were able to get her out no c section ❤️🙏🏼

"Its sweat from throwing up all morning" Phoebe Buffay
So Phoebe could've flown to Ross's wedding??
Seapancakx actually Lisa Kudrow couldn’t fly to England for the filming due to her pregnancy so that is why they put that storyline into the episode. I’m sure there are some reasons why some women can’t fly, maybe they are having a high risk pregnancy or maybe they are so close to their due date that they just don’t want to risk not being close to their ob and chosen hospital.
I don't think she could because she was too far into the pregnancy and she probably didnt want to give birth in another country, especially because she was high risk with triplets
Lissi Fajen very likely except for the fact that Lisa was only having a singleton.
The sole reason that was part of the storyline is due to the fact that Lisa Kudrow couldn’t make the flight for the filming due to her own pregnancy.
Probably more likely that the insurance for the filming company wouldn't cover having a pregnant actor travel for work to the UK, rather than the actual flight would have been dangerous for the baby or parent.
I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant (first time) and this video helps calm me down. Please do a video on foods you should be eating during pregnancy.
I like this one because these are all straight up myths. Not “ok like it’s not completely true... but” like all the other myth videos
“Your belly reveals the baby’s gender”
When I was pregnant with my first baby and stranger came up to me and said “you are having a boy!

Baq Good for you, 👍🏻 like you said there are a lot of children out there who need to be adopted
I have the same exact view, why bring another life into the world when there’s already one suffering

“That’s a myth”
*likes video*
But studies have shown the caffeine stays in the system for 300 hrs. So. Cut down on coffee. It's for the health of the baby. Not about the moms crave for coffee or caffeine.
I personally stopped all coffee, including deca, the moment I found out I was pregnant. Just in case. And God knows I miss it!
Darla Dolan I mean that’s probably from consuming too much of it. I’m still drinking coffee and my baby is healthy and active.

Now every night I have to choose:
Do I want a sore shoulder or heart burn when I wake up tomorrow? It's great to have options.
john smith even if they’re shitty ones 🤷🏻♀️
@@Lightning_Lance Left side sleeping is better if you have heartburn or gas. What evidence is there that sleeping on the left side is the best position for *everyone* to sleep in? If someone finds sleeping on their left side to be uncomfortable/less comfortable then obviously it's not the best position for that person. Good sleep is the ultimate priority which means whatever position is most comfortable, with the exception of sleeping on the stomach since that can cause breathing issues as well as problems with the spine. People should avoid that unless it's the _only_ way they can fall asleep.
Privacy Lover wait for real? I slept on my stomach have been forever... now I, scared
