Thank you for your amazing course. I gave birth to our first baby in 2022 at home in a birth pool, following your amazing course throughout my pregnancy. All the information in the course is so well explained and easy to follow. Now, we are trying for another baby, the last six months, as I was following period app, which it seems is not accurate as to when is my ovulation. Just opened your app/course I noticed that there is a section (I bough the course after I got pregnant with our first baby) Preconseption, talking about the colour cervical mucus and how is related to as to when ovulation actually is, not what apps said. Wish me luck 🤗 I do the same to every women who wants to conceive ☺️

Bridget, I want to express my immense gratitude to you.
I gave birth to my first child, my son, four years ago. I had planned to have a natural, unmedicated birth in the hospital. Hopes of that were dashed within minutes of my arrival at the hospital after my water broke. I was the victim of scare tactics to allow interventions I did not want and invalidation of my desires for my birth experience. Thankfully, my son was perfectly healthy, but I ended up getting an epidural and pitocin which I didn’t want, and suffered a long second degree tear, chronic tail bone pain and pelvic floor issues. Additionally, I had feelings of inadequacy and shame that my body could not give birth in the way I had planned.
When I got pregnant with our second child I was determined to have a different experience. I watched a ton of your videos in preparation and the most important lesson I took was to trust that my *body* knows what to do. This was foreign to me, given that my doctors always conveyed that birth was a medical condition to be treated and that they, not I, knew best.
I prepared my team of doctors. I explained my plan to labor at home as long as I could, and to advocate for myself when and if I felt pressured to allow interventions I didn’t understand or that my husband and I did not want.
Mild contractions began early in the morning on 12/30, and continued throughout the day. I wasn’t sure if this was labor or not, but took your advice to ignore them and continue with my normal routine. Then, in the middle of the night on 12/31, I began to lose some of my mucous plug and my water broke. I moved all over my house as I labored, walking, swaying, sitting, or kneeling - whatever my body told me to do.
One incredible moment of trust in my body occurred during transition. I had been sitting on my rocking chair for several contractions and that was feeling good. And then, I had one powerful surge and I instinctively knew I couldn’t sit for that one. When I stood up, I felt the baby’s head literally fall into my pelvis. From that moment, the surges became very intense and came fast and hard. I told my husband that I didn’t think we had much longer to go, and it was within about 5 minutes of that conversation that my body began to push on its own.
When we arrived at the hospital, I asked that they wait for my current contraction to end before checking my dilation, hold off on the IV given that I was feeling the urge to push, and stated that I did not want to push on my back. All of these requests were honored graciously. My daughter was born after about 8 minutes of pushing.
This was truly a redemptive birth. I prayed to God that it would be, and one way in which He answered my prayer was to allow me to stumble across your UA-cam channel. From you, I learned to trust my body (which I was shocked to find was totally accurate every time!) and that it was my right and privilege to direct my own labor. As a result, I recovered so much more quickly, and feel empowered by my birth instead of ashamed. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for what you do.
To anyone reading this and prepping for her own natural birth, take heart. If I did it, you most certainly can too. 💜

Your story is so similar to mine, except that with my second child I unfortunately had placenta previa which meant I ended up having a c-section. I was devastated.
I fell pregnant again last Feb but unfortunately I had a missed miscarriage. Exactly one year later and I am finally pregnant again and praying that this is the pregnancy I have been praying for years for. I watch these birth stories and it’s beautiful and I want so badly to have the natural birth I had always wanted.
I leave it all in His hands, and pray that my prayers be heard. God is good.

That would be fabulous. I've had 11 children, all hospital births, and all around 13 hours once admitted.
After watching these videos, I've come to believe that the hospital environment, constant fetal monitoring, frequent cervical checks, "lack of progress" checks, which lead to pitocin intervention, which requires epidural to manage pain, all while forced to lay at a dumb 45° angle -- are to blame.

I had home birth in a water tub and I can’t imagine any woman birthing without one! It was ecstasy getting into that tub, I was so so grateful. It also slowed me to move around easier and get into different positions. I labored 36 hours and pushed for 3.5 and was never pressured by my birth team. Only support and encouragement the whole way. My midwife assured me longer labors allow the body to transition and longer pushing decreases chances of tearing. I only had a tiny tear and I massaged myself throughout my pushing. Right at the end I talked to my son and told him we needed to do this together and he needed to help mommy out. As soon as I spoke to him he started swiveling his head to get out. It was incredible. No interruptions, interventions, pressuring or fear tactics. My timing, my birth my way. Mamas claim your power!! ❤❤❤

I’m pregnant with my second now and know now that anything can happen and to be ok with it. It’s a wonderful thing having these tools in your back pocket if and when you are able to utilize them. But for anyone reading this, if you have to get pain relief because you are suffering, it is ok.

I have had four natural births. The first baby was back labor and felt terrible pain, but I had not prepared physically or mentally for what was to come. Still made it through without epidural. The next three babies were also born without epidurals. I found Bridget's videos to help me prepare for the last two births and they were extremely helpful. Nothing compares to the feeling of giving birth unmedicated -- after it is all over, it is exhilarating. Each time I felt like I had climbed Mt. Everest. Talk about being empowered! I’m not able to have home births due to having a bicornuate uterus, which caused my membranes to get stuck with both of my babies. However the midwives at the hospital were so amazing. They just sat back and chilled out with me. They did a cervical check when I arrived at the delivery suite but other than that, they just let me go at my own pace and didn’t intervene at all. I was able to be in whatever position I wanted, and push whenever I needed to. I was so happy that I was able to have such a relaxed environment even though I wasn’t able to have a home birth.

I’m not pregnant yet (my husband and I want to start trying next year), but positive birth stories like yours are helping me so much with being excited for the process! My mom was very fearful about birth and didn’t have any of these resources about how natural birth is - she just went along with whatever the big Pharma, general practitioner doctors said. So, though I was never allowed to be present for any of her births, the only things I heard about birth from her were that it was really painful and really scary and really long, but that you had to just push and scream through on your back until it was done.
I cannot tell you how grateful I am to be learning but that doesn’t have to be the case, and then I don’t have to be afraid of birth just because of the way my mom was told to do it. Thank you for recording and taking the time to post these!

This is the most beautiful birth story I have ever seen and I cried nearly the entire time watching this video. ❤ Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your experience and educating us along the way. There is still so much institutionalised diminishing of women in the birth process, unnecessary interventions and definitely unconscious bias. I takes extraordinary courage and many system barriers to overcome in order to advocate for natural birth. 36 weeks now and due to complications not able to birth at home. But will use your wisdom to give birth as naturally as possible in the hospital. ❤

I lost my mucus plug at 28 weeks and my OBGYN didn't believe me even when I had a picture of it. I went into labor at 31 weeks though thankfully they pushed it off and I was able to sit in the hospital until I was 34 weeks. You are such an inspiration you have helped me out through my breastfeeding Journey so so much

I'm currently at 34 weeks FTM and just had the birth plan chat with my OB. Before I'd told her anything she explained to me how she believed in letting labor happen as natural as possible with minimal to no interventions and she gave me Lamaze informational sheets to take home. I was so floored and absolutely relieved to find out that she's wanting the same things I am! It definitely erased any sense of nervousness in me and I'm so excited for birth.

I followed your videos while I was pregnant with my daughter a few years ago and I now find myself watching your videos again as my husband and I plan to get pregnant again. I used many of your exercises and advice while laboring which led to me laboring at work(lol)/home and by the time I got to the hospital I was already 5cm dilated. I also had back labor and that was some intense pain but I managed and was able to have a fairly quick hospital labor and delivery. While I did watch A LOT of labor and delivery content on UA-cam, I honestly believe your content helped me the most regarding my mindset surrounding childbirth. Thank you ❤

I am so happy to have watched this and other videos you have posted! I was induced against my will due to advanced maternal age. Determined to make the best choices that were still within my control, I chose no epidural, and to stay vertical for labor until they made me lie down to push. I used breathing and visualization techniques until last 7 minutes, when I dilated from 8cm to him in my arms. 2 pushes without urge to push, due to baby in distress. The pain was so bad those last 7 minutes I couldn’t see. But I’m happy to have gone epidural free, and believe it may have also saved my life as I was able to feel the huge clots pass as I hemorrhaged in bed and call for help immediately. Thank you for empowering women.

I didn’t know how to manage that pain so four hours in I opted for an epidural. Well this made me cry! I’m pregnant with my third, a boy, after having two sweet girls. I found your channel because I wanted to find ways to breathe through my labor pains. With both of my girls I had an epidural. First birth was traumatic, second was easier but not as fast as I would have liked it to have been because the daytime nurses didn’t move me and I wasn’t educated, myself, to ask to be moved around. Your videos have made me feel so empowered to do this a third time without an epidural! Thank you…and my birthday is Nov 26 so me and your baby boy are almost birthday twins. Happy almost first birthday, buddy! 🎉

I am a new high risk L&D nurse and I love watching your content, I will probably be purchasing your bundle soon to help my patients! I’m so glad your birth went the way you planned! So beautiful. I recently had a patient in the hospital who’s birth was similar; low/no interventions in a birthing tub. I do think it’s necessary though, that you bring up the contraindications to a home birth. Of course not in this video but just in general. Everyone would prefer a birth like this one, but sadly it isn’t always possible. In my practice I have seen many “failed” home births with many devastating consequences. My goal is to provide a holistic birthing experience to patients; including those with comorbidities.

Congratulations on the birth of your son! Your content was SO helpful for me as I prepared to deliver my son (who is now two!). I had a natural delivery in hospital after being induced. A PSA to others reading the comments is that I thought I was having bloody show but it was actually bleeding from a partial placenta abruption. I called my midwife and went for an emergency fetal check. Baby was moving well and they found my water had partially broken. So always always call if you have any bleeding. In labour, being able to move and use gravity was a life saver. I’m grateful I could trust my body to deliver my son naturally despite some earlier complications. I wanted to share how this channel positively impacted my birth experience - thank you for such great information 🙏🏻

Im having my third also. Im going to watch this monthly, i swear!! This is a great empowering wideo that birth is natural and not scary!! My first went by in 13 hrs. My second was extremely pain due to bulging discs post car accident. The staff was inexperienced and put doubt and fear into me. I had epidural. Im motivated this time to have a less painful birth and stay active during this pregnancy. My last pregnancy i gained 100lbs and barely exercised and didnt eat right, i was in a safe place and overdid the things I didnt with first. My first i was in a traumatic and stressful environment.

My third was also my most empowering birth. While I chose to have a hospital birth, my third was the labor with the least interventions, so that was an amazing experience! One thing that really spoke to me from your story was how your contractions slowed down for a little while, and your midwife reassured you that it was normal. I experienced the same thing, and although my nurse was amazing and never hastily suggested the use of any interventions, I just wished she would've reassured me through that part, or at least I wish I'd remembered it was normal, as I had learned about it prior.

I’m 37+ weeks with my 8th after an 8 year gap. After a tumultuous first birth at the hospital I’ve had 5 home-births and one at a birth center, so I’m excited for another home birth experience. Oddly enough, having had such a long gap has given room for a bit of fear and anxiety for me, so I’m working to mentally and physically prepare myself for the submissive journey of labor and connecting with my body again in such a raw and transformative way. It truly is magical to both engage with the birth process and then hold that baby at the end of it all. There is NOTHING like the moment when your baby is in your arms after laboring (whether quickly or not) for them. I am so eager for that moment again. Thank you for these great reminders for listening to my body, trusting the birthing process, and not giving into fear.

Congratulations Bridget! I also wanted to thank you for all the videos, they helped me a lot prior (your birth ball exercises put me into labor within a day) and during my birth 6 months ago (though I did opt for epidural).
I gave birth at a hospital in Sweden and I was really impressed with the personnel. Whenever they saw the pain was too overwhelming they helped me calm down, they told me to listen to my body, didn’t put any pressure on me or on getting the labor move along quicker but let it take time. Everybody was absolutely lovely to me and my husband, got me a nice candle-lit bath, danced around with me in the room and made sure I stayed hydrated and fed throughout the labor (which I heard is not so common in other countries). My only regret is that they put me in a lying down position on my side for the pushing part and it was the most uncomfortable position to me, I really wish I had spoken up and changed to all fours which I felt even prior to giving birth that it would be most comfortable to me.

One of the things I just realized (11 weeks postpartum with my first) while watching this, I don’t think I had any bloody show ever. I did an at home water birth, and used my stairs so much to keep moving and try different angles and also cus my bathroom was upstairs while the birthing pool was downstairs.
Membrane sweep at 41+1 at 11:30am, contractions started at 3pm, water broke about 7:15pm, baby was born 3:46am. I 100% contribute the fast labor to using my stairs so much.

So inspiring and encouraging, thank you for sharing Bridget! I had my first baby in July 2022 and wanted to go natural (not afraid of intervention or anesthesia, but I just wanted to experience what the body is capable of naturally) but not knowing exactly how contractions felt, my water broke and I got very strong contractions almost immediately, which kind of made me forget all that I had read about/learned (but not very well practiced) and I got the epidural. I loved the epidural, and no complications other than minor tearing. But I'm now 31 weeks with my second (and final) baby and I have one more chance to experience birth naturally. My "why" is simply not wanting any unnecessary intervention, and also really wanting to experience natural birth! Most of me is saying "I can totally do this," but there's still a tiny part that didn't mind the epidural and will know it's an option at the hospital and is thinking it may be too easy to back out, but I'm going to do my best to solidify my why, practice and bring along all my tools, and really "enjoy" discovering my body and my baby in this way. Again, thanks so much for all of your help and resources!!
