Severus always loved Lily. I believe part of the problem was that he had no loving family to draw strength from. He was an outcast from the start plus after being sorted into different houses he became isolated from the one person who he was so close to. James made that worse by being where Severus wanted to be, close to Lily. I think it may have fueled the jealous. That plus the bullying set the stage for what caused the final riff between Lily and Severus. There was no excuse for causing so much pain in someone else's life, but his reaction was the results of his embarrassment. He lashed out at the nearest target, Lily.

I absolutely agree. I think most people really throw Severus "under the bus" because he chose to become a Death Eater, but they don't realize how isolated and abused he was. It makes sense for him to have so much resentment after being targeted by the "good guys." It's really such a shame. Makes you think about the people that have lives like this in reality.

James mocked Snape for wanting to be in Slytherin and tried to trip him before they even got off of the Hogwarts Express.
Lucius Malfoy protected Snape from being bullied so it's no small wonder that Snape became a Death Eater when most, if not all, of the kindness he ever experienced during his years at Hogwarts was from future Death Eaters.

I still cant believe she'd hold it against him for that long... She took it too much to heart when it came to her friend. I mean, she is Petunia's sister after all.
Oh boo-hoo I cant forgive my friend for calling me a mud blood once out of anger which is understandable considering the bullying he faced and his childhood and home life... But I really wanted my sister to forgive me and be ok in an instant and I dont know why.
She and Petunia are similar, they never forgive anyone for any minimal issue... They take it to their grave with that.
When did Lilly ever stand up to snape until that day? Is she really a friend? hmmm

He would have been less defensive of himself and would not have hated muggles, which would made it easier for him to make friends with Lily as well as Petunia without coming across as insulting them, which would have a big impact on his time at Hogwarts, he might have wanted to go into Ravenclaw instead of Slytherin, which means he would have possibly befriended James and Sirius and Lupin instead of Lucius Malfoy, Avery and Mulciber.

She also knew that his peers and Slytherin where terrible people, that severus still preferred to be with Lily over other Slytherins. yet somehow she still falls for the ring leader boy of the group of bullies who hunted and maliciously targeted her childhood best friend for years. even if severus called her a mudblood out of misplaced anger after being assaulted for the 1000th time. she should never have married James, you don't just grow out of that kind of horrible behavior. I had a messed up childhood and I can't tell you how much therapy I had to go through 😅 just want your thoughts.. I haven't checked to see if JK addressed any of it prior. Mental health isn't something to ignore especially in kids... I mean look how Riddle turned out! Lol

      @lindataylor5779 3 роки тому +30

I agree. It is hard to understand how Harry survived with a pure heart after so much abuse from the Dursley's. The explanation JK gives in the books is that Harry had the very early experience of two loving parents, who were great people. And, of course, the magical impact of his mother's sacrifice of her life to save him. When Harry finally meets good, caring people he immediately is able to benefit and he seeks out caring friends and mentors. Harry Potter is a literary creation. In some ways, he reminds me of Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, who is an orphan brought up in the work house, but still maintains a pure heart. Riddle, on the other hand, is the child of a broken mother and a heartless father. There is an emphasis on the fact that his mother didn't use magic to save herself and protect Tom Riddle. He ends up having a narcissistic, cruel, heartless personality. In real life, I agree with you that individuals who suffer abusive childhoods need the help of therapy. Reading books and watching movies like Harry Potter can be helpful in understanding ourselves and our relationships--especially in gaining perspective and learning to understand others and ourselves, survive and heal from abuse and trauma.

I've worked and been around enough children who suffer self esteem issues and PTSD issues all ranging from minor to severe due to neglect and abuse to know Magic is gonna need to be in effect here. And I would love his take on it on his channel.
No one should stop working on themselves and I've been one heck of a survivor myself.
Mental health is a very serious issue especially in today's World. Whether you meant to come off as brash or not I really wish you would not brush aside anyone's story without knowing it.

But I'm pretty sure that with being constantly hated for her blood status there and perhaps even attacked she would react in some way . She would eventually break . And since lily is headstrong and stubborn instead of leaving she would eventually start rebelling in slytherin and causing trouble to her housemates . Whether she and snape would get together or not I dont know since lily only ever had platonic feelings for him and I'm pretty sire their friendship wouldnt last anyways since this lily would hate death eaters even more -enough to abandon her best friend . Upon graduating she would join the order like canon but fight in a more ruthless manner . James and lily might get together if james looks at his prejudice but either ways they'd be partners on the battlefield . And Neville would most likely be the prophecy child unless james marries another woman or some other unfortunate couple has a child due at the end of july .

I could understand why Lily chose James over Snape. During early years he was a bully. No defense there. But people do mature and grow out of that phase. I can't brush off his deeds, but people do mature. Lily and James were thrown in together a lot more owing to being in the same house. Mind you, she didn't like him in the beginning, only in the 7th yr they went out. Many times it happens right? We're attracted to people who are slightly opposite to us/bad guys. And over the period, she just probably fell in love with James.
Though James was a bully, I think he bullied Snape little extra because he was jealous that Lily would choose Snape over him. Not an excuse, but that's how bullies are. Not strong, but show off as strong.
Snape came from a broken family, his emotional development isn't on par with his peers. Thanks to that, he couldn't express his anger, pain, happiness and sorrow openly. If he could've communicated better with Lily, he could've told how he came to trust the people around him - "Death eaters' gang". Probably Lily would've understood then that James bullying was pushing him into Dark Arts and not because he was interested in it. He felt powerless and hated that feeling. Lily was also of same age. How will she understand such complicated stuff? She didn't like James for bullying Snape. But she only saw him as a friend in a different house. It's very tough for any person to be in a normal and friendly relationship with a brooding person. Her friends never understood, because it's easy to be friends with someone like James than Snape. Still she tried her best.
And moreover every house and its members have their broad bias against other houses. Remember how Harry got two different views about Hogwarts houses? In the Book 1, he'll meet anonymous boy (Malfoy) who had pride for Slytherin house , Harry feels gloomy that he's dull probably will be put in Hufflepuff and Hagrid tells better Hufflepuff than Slytherin. Even before Harry got to know about what each house stood for, his impressions, people's words and his own mind rejected Slytherin. It could've been similar for Lily too. She trusted Snape, but she didn't feel right about Slytherin and his gang who were creepy. They might've fought a lot more. Calling her mudblood was probably the last straw. Lily was right one way- if Snape and his gang could call Muggle borns as Mudbloods, she is same too right? Even if he valued her immensely, she might've felt that moment probably Snape didn't respect her.
On the whole, I felt sad for Snape. A real lot. He's the one who never had anything, never gained anything... Voldemort just used him.

Ummm, during school, before she stopped being his friend, Snape was hanging out with the racists at school. Before she got with James, she wanted Snape to quit the dark arts stuff and the bullying stuff. He didn't. Then, when she tried to stand up for him, he called her a slur to save face with the racists. Snape chose to hang with her only in secret. It was the combination of all of this, and then finally calling her a slur, that she ended their relationship. She kept rejecting James for being a bully. The movies (and this videos) portray James and Snape's relationship as one sided bully despite them going back and forth in the books. And he wasn't lashing out in the books, it was more of a comeback to James then a rage at Lily.
He drove her away. He made and choices. The "only" reason he joined the death eaters is bc it made him feel respected and powerful. That's why he did it in school, that's why he joined when he left.

The only way Snape would stand a chance of staying in Lily's life if he wasn't heading to be a DE. And since Lily would have joined the Order anyways, she can't ostracize James, her fellow Order member. She would expect them both to grow up and make peace. And James and Snape might have made peace if Snape never became a DE or joined the Order. Which would go back to giving James a chance with Lily.

Snape would have never became a death eater had he not been abused, neglected, judged for where he came from, mocked because of his appearance and poverty, bullied and sexually humiliated and harrassed by James and Sirius, almost mauled to death by the marauders and forced to keep quiet by the headmaster and had he not been sorted into Slytherin and made friends with Lucius, the first person in his miserable, and lonely life to ever befriend and accept him other than Lily. Lets not forget that Snape was just mindinf his own busineess in Snape's worse memory when James and Sirius decided to gang up on him, calling him a degrading name they've called him from day one causing Snape to go into defensive mode, lets not forget that it was James who had tortured, to get Lily's attention, then blackmail Lily to go out with him using Snape as a ransom, then threaten ro hex her when she takes her wand out to defend Snape, lets not forget that James had publicly sexually humilated and harrassed Snape. Lastlt, let's not forget that James had made two prejudice comments on slytherin students just after Snape only tells Lily she better be in Slytherin, then tried to trip Snape up when he was leaving the compartment after Snape had made one remark on Gryffindor as a witty comeback. Had James not been arrogant, prejudice and left Snape alone they wouldn't have any animosity between James and Snape. Had James went over to Snape to apologise instead of to entertain Sirius plus gain Lily's attention to blackmail her to go out with him, then they would have been able to make peace and Snape would not have felt as if the only option he had after Hogwarts where he could feel included into society was joining the death eaters as he would have been more inclined to join the Order. Had Dumbledore done his job as headmaster and stopped the bullying, Snape would have not become a death eater. Had Lily and Lupin actually done their jobs as prefects and stopped the bullying then Snape would have been less inclined to join the death eaters. Had his parents loved him enough not to abuse and neglect him, he would have been less inclined to join the death eaters.

Not all DEs were from abusive homes. If his upbringing and environment were reasons for his actions, the same can be said for James. Even James could arguably have not been a bully if he was raised better with more boundaries and discipline.
James only said he would hex Lily if she hexed him first. Even if she was defending Snape, the point is he only said he'd hex her if she hexed him first. He didn't hex her for verbally defending Snape.
James took advantage of the situation to try an exchange a date for stopping something he was already doing anyways when she asked him to stop. He didn't attack Snape to blackmail her. And if he was all that serious about blackmailing her, he wouldn't have let Snape go after one no. He would have continued insisting she said yes before he let Snape go.

@@Tasha9315 most death eaters like Draco and Regulus, Lucius, Avery and Mulciber for instance, Crabbe jr, Goyle Junior or became death eaters because they had relatives/parents who were death eaters and were told good things about Voldemort. "The sorting is a very umportant ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts." -McGonagall, philospher's stone, the sorting hat. That whole sentence right there would have a been a big impact for someone like Snape, especially with what we see happens after his sorting, Lucius Malfoy a prefect and pureblood welcomes him into Slytherin-thats going to be a big impact on Snape who's never felt accepted or welcomed anywhere. His father surely didn't. Kids at the park surely didn't-Petunia looks down on his neighbourhood before Snape insults her. And in the next scene she mocks his poverty and neglect. And on the train he's already been bullied by prejudice kids just because of a house prefrence. Basically, Snape didn't have much opportunity to not be drawn down the dark path. Had he been sorted anywhere else, he would have had less friends with relatives who were death eaters, had he had loving parents he wouldn't have tried to distance himself from his muggle background the same way Sirius did with Slytherin because of his home life. Had he not been bullied two against one, four against one, he would have felt less vulnerable and seeked acceptance by his friends in slytherin. Had the teachers done their job or had Lupin and Lily used their prefect privledges or done more to stop James and Sirius, Snape would have felt less worthless less like the only option to feel accepted was the death eaters. Snape became a death eater because he was vulnerable and wanted acceptance. This was said by JK Rowling. So yes, his past experiences are what drove him to become a death eater as the only ones that accepted him and befriended him apart from Lily were people like Lucius. No one else did. Adults didn't care about him. 3/4 of the school didn't care as he was a slytherin. The teachers didn't care nor did his head of house or his parents or Lily's parents or Lily. So again, yes Snape was driven to the death eaters because they accepted him, an abused and neglected child. The same way Lupin couldnt stand up to his friends even though he knew what they were doing was wrong, because he felt accepted for the first time in his life for who he is. The same way Harry was constantly putting his life at risk for Hagrid because he was the first person to befriend him. So again yes, Snape became a death eater because he was vulnerable and wanted acceptance and his childhood and the traumas he went through in his teen years is what drove him to become a death eater. After Sirius had recklessly endangered James, Lupin and Snape for instance, James could have decided enough was enough and left Snape alone. Not saying James was evil-he did a lot of bad as a teenager but he definitely did change at some point and he did do some good things as a teenager like befriending and acceptinng Lupin, becoming an animagus for Lupin, taking Sirius into his own home and family. His change was most likely due to the rising war. Snape due to circumstances shows he has changed after his actions by turning spy for the light to ensure Lily and her family were safe and hidden-that was his opportunity to change his ways, to climb out of a dark whole that he had fallen into. The prophecy and Lily being in danger was his way out, just like Kreacher was Regulus's way out, just like Ariana's death was Dumbledore's way out. Afterwards, he stayed a spy for the order and protecting her son after Lily and James' were killed, keeping Sirius's place of hiding secret from the ministry, stopping a death eater from killing Lupin, accepting Lily's choice of marriage to the point where he calls her by her married name, uses his knowledge of the dark arts to save as many people as he could, saving his students in any way he could and trusting Dumbledore who became his mentor instead of trusting Lucius or Voldemort.
Lily taking her wand out is no excuse for James to threaten to hex her. He was in the wrong, he was the one who ganged up on her friend. And yes James's behaviour in that memory was because he wanted to get into Lily's pants. Hence why he kept on glancing over at the lake where she was and messing up his hair before he ganged up on Snape, during that and when she came to her friend's aid. Never mind the fact that after Lily turned him down, he had sexually humiliated Snape then after Lily yells at James and leaves, James angrily thinks about sexually harrassing Snape publicly. "Who wants to see me take off Snivelly's pants."
Snape's faults as a teenager, were creating spells like levicorpus and sectumsempra, calling muggleborns mudbloods, and not understanding why Lily wouldn't like him joining the death eaters.
His faults as an adult was his behaviour towards Harry, Hermione, Ron and Neville.

If the worst of snape was someone who would call the woman he was supposed to be in love with a mudblood, then that's who he really was inside. The worst of James would be him flat out saying he disliked snape because of who he associated with and his use of the dark arts. He'd never call Lilly a mudblood like snape did. What actually gave James the chance was the fact that James actually matured into an adult. Snape never did. He remained an asshole and a bully, especially as a teacher. While James was still in school he saved snape from being killed by Lupin. Snape, after leaving hogwarts and joining the death eaters, told voldemort about the prophecy and was completely fine with voldemort killing james and harry, so long as lilly was left alive. And later on in the flash backs from the movies, she acted like she was too good for everyone else that were her old friends and her family. I have only seen the movie's because the books don't interest me as much as Anne Rice's novels , of wich I have read 6 and some more than once. I wonder how Harry Potter novels would have turned out if Anne Rice had written them.

I am saying that Rowling is not any good with history, culture, metaphores, ecc.
She keep saying how muggleborn are discriminated but we only saw Hermione having congratulations from everyone and becoming Minister of Magic in Cursed Child. With the exception of Voldemort taking control, it is only bad comments from Draco and purebloods! Not that insults are ok, but muggleborns really seems to have all the rights that other wizards have.
Meanwhile Muggles and Squibs, are really being treated like sh*t, oblivinated, hexed (Harry hex Filch being his back for cheer), insulted (Hagrid insults Filch for being a squib), isolated (Molly's squib cousin they never talk about) and Neville is almost killed by his uncle because suspected squib, and then you start to suspect how many children were abused or even killed because of it, (Ariana's isolament?).
Meanwhile all this in the book is treated all like LOL or routine.

I think if, before Snape called Lily a mudblood, if Lily would've given Snape an ultimate ultimatum for him to choose between her (& their friendship) and the dark arts and he knew she was being serious, then I think he would've chosen Lily. I think that if she would've done this, he would've thought of what his life would be like without her and realize that's not what he wants and doesn't want to do something that he would regret to push her away for good (aka calling her the m word).
If he would've chosen Lily, from Lily's ultimatum, I think Lily would've seen that she means more to Severus than his interest in the dark arts means to him. Snape never told Lily his feelings, but I think if this scenario would've happened, it would've made his feelings clear to her, and that he really cares for/about her more than anything. It would've shown a caring side to Lily she never seen before.
Perhaps, it may've made Lily see Snape in a different light aka as more than friends. But would she grow to have romantic feelings for her best friend and choose to be with him? I don't know. If Snape showed Lily that he would stop calling other muggleborns the m word and that he's a good person/change to be the type of person she would want to be with romantically, then maybe.

Snape actually did have to tell Voldemort the prophecy because he was working as a damn soldier in a war and was following orders which was to spy on Dumbledore. Just like soldiers in a real war on both sides, are ordered to kill their "enemies." Or else be killed. James targeted Snape because he wanted to be in Slytherin. Snape said nothing about the dark arts when he and James first met, he only wanted to be in Slytherin with his friend and James arrogantly insults Snape by putting Slytherins down, twice which resorts to Snape hitting back with the insult about Gryffindors, then James tries to trip him up as he was leaving the carriage and both Sirius and James mock him by calling him snivellus. Also JK Rowling never said Snape hated Neville because he could have been the chosen one. It's just a theory.

A war was coming and that sobers people. His parents were old and we know they were dead by the time Harry came. Then Sirius almost killed Snape. James had to save him. Something like that makes someone reevaluate their life. So no, James doesn't change after the werewolf incident where Snape could have been mauled to death.
Snape being. Into the dark arts turned out to be a good thing. Why? Because in the end he managed to save many people with his knowledge. Harry in Philospher's stone with the jinxed broom. Hermione with Dolohov's curse in Order of the phoenix.

      He healed Ron from poisoning.

Calling Lily mudblood was just a release of the psychological frustration that he was subjected to all the years by James and Sirius. Also repeatedly hearing the word mudblood by his colleagues and trying to blend in with them by saying the same word must be the reason for this outlash.
Lily should've recognised it and atleast once try to pull Snape out of it.

I really missed out on some Potterhead's stuff the last couple of years since I fell out with the Harry Potter Fandom 🤣First things first, great content! Thanks for that. I love to spin my head around theories like that, always did.
My opinion? We can't know, because we don't know the whole picture. JK never told in very much detail. We just know fragments of memories, Snapes memories at that and therefore only his perspective of being befriended with Lily. We don't know if Lily truly cared about him or how she thought she treated him as a person.
Basically, J.K. would have to write down, elaborate and publish the whole back story. Thus, the less drawn characters like James and Lily could be made more profound. Compared to Snape, Lily seems very two-dimensional; mostly she is described as a person who stood up for others. One might think that this was the reason Snape eventually fell in love. We don't know exactly because it's not described in any concrete way.
The fact is that Snape's feelings for Lily play a crucial role in the canon, so I imagine that Lily must have noticed these feelings at some point. It is also a fact that Lily and Snape were the best students of their year in Potions and definitely had one major common denominator: Knowledge.
Snape is not an easy character, driven by irascibility, introverted and far too clever. Getting along with him requires sensitivity and sympathy for his situation. Lily, it seems, had both. They certainly did more together in their early years at school: Homework, studying, sitting next to each other in class. Spent the vacations together. What friends do. Judging by their interests, it wouldn't surprise me if Lily admired Snape for his genius.
As a teenager, you also fall in love and out of love pretty quickly. But when you see your best friend turn to topics you can't handle anymore, you distance yourself automatically.
Long story short: to clear up this issue, HBO should finally produce the announced series. Until then, I'm afraid I'm going to keep shipping Snily.
One more thing: I'm not so dissimilar to Snape in some character ways. We have birthdays almost at the same time (Capricorn), I'm quite grumpy, like to learn and read, have a tendency to be fascinated by all kinds of things and have been friends for years with an extrovert (Aquarius) who just completes me on a special level. We both communicate very differently, but still we love each other and we rely on each other. Our houses are Slytherin and Gryffindor
So from my perspective and life experience, I say yes, Lily could have just as easily chosen Snape.

Everybody got to take a small step back here. James may had done few jerkish things while he was young but honestly haven't we all done things that we're not proud of? Life is about growing from your mistakes. James still was loyal to his family and friends and when his world was threatened by a extremely dangerous wizard he did stepped up to try to save his world and others. No doubt that the war helped him see the world on a much more spiritual way. We have to understand that nobody (besides Snape) hold his childhood mistakes against him. He (and many others) grew up. He can't be defined as a person over one period of his life. It's like what Dumbledore and Sirius both said...everybody have good and bad in them and are capable of changing. We have to remember that much of the negativity of James comes from Snape who is someone who is not holding a childhood grudge but refuses to acknowledges and see that James did do some good in his life. We have to remember that despite Snape having a deep fondness for Lilly, he was the one who wasn't willingly to changes for her nor was he willingly to see his own faults between him and James' rivalry. The situation isn't as black and white as the films make it out to be. We see that Harry does learn to accept that his father was human and regained enough respect for him that he named one of his sons after him.

Lily met Snape when she was very young and at that time she did not understand what love like that was. She always thought of him as a friend but when Snape became highly obsessed with dark arts their friendship was falling apart. When snape called lily a mudblood all that small strings that were holding them together fell off. Snape fell in love with lily at the wrong time. James became the man lily wanted. So even if Snape had not called her a mudblood she would have never fallen for him. Snape was never and will never be the man that lily needed.
Also, their patroneses tell the story. James became an animagi before falling deeply in love with Lily and I don't think lily's Patronus ever changed. Snape's Patronus was the same as lily because he loved her not the other way round.

Snape was in the friend zone from day one.IMO she never looked at him as any type of Love interest and never would.Snape was more into the Dark Arts anyway(Not psychotically like Voldy, but in it nonetheless).James was a D-Bag and a bully but he matured,Snape couldn’t get past the bullying and even if Lily chose him, that would have been an issue(being bullied, low self esteem etc).
But it’s all a moot point as Rowling couldn’t have written the damn books if Lily married Snape.I mean c’mon, they hand out time turners so kids can take 2 classes at once but they can’t use one to stop Voldy from killing James and Lily.Speculation in Fiction is Pointless.

JK has said that Lilly would have been romantically interested in him, had he ditched the Dark Arts. She also said that Snape regretted as an adult not having done it earlier. So not really a friend zone.

The differences between Potter and Severus are so heartbreakingly vast that it almost feels impossible to ever adore either of them equally. I have friends that claim the absolute opposite, but they’re so damned fervently passionate about how it’s “as easy as waking up and breathing!” that I feel safe in the assumption of being some kind of a lie.
Either way, I will always (yes, heartbreakingly intentional pun) love Severus. That doesn’t mean I’m okay with his later-in-life bullying of his students. Nope. I’d sooner snap and slap him over the head with a spare journal.

The great truth is that Lily would never have a relationship with Snape, with or without offense. he had nothing she or any girl would want from a guy. Besides, they were always arguing, he always had to apologize constantly, an unbalanced relationship that showed that they would never work. She wanted the popular cute and badass, the one that was unreachable for everyone except her, just like Harry did with Ginny. Lily and Harry are personalities open to 'weird' people but they are not including their romantic and sexual life in this.

    • @pitaariel1920
      @pitaariel1920 3 роки тому +1

You are making Lily look like a superficial girl. I'm sure she was not into James because he was a popular badass. She was more like Hermione in that respect. Hermione was not interested in Krum because he was popular or cute, she got interested in him because she saw that Krum was a sensitive caring boy that was not interested in fame. From the exterior it might seem that Hermione was just attracted to him the same as the other girls in the school, but that was far from the truth.

I think that one of Lily's strongest traits, seeing the good in other that they could not see in themselves, also worked against her in regards to her relationship with Snape. Snape might have blundered several times before and was forgiven maybe too many times by Lily because of their childhood memories. That incident when he called her a Mudblood was clearly the last straw for her. Snape did NOT deserve to be treated badly by James Potter, but he is also responsible for his own actions. Had he not let his emotions get the best of him, he might still have been friends with Lily. And then there's the case of his Slytherin friends. If you had a friend whom you knew was hanging with the KKK or neo-nazis, would you be comfortable being around him, let alone date him? I think that the only person he hated more than James... was himself.

Basically it would’ve come down to either one of them. JK did say Lily could’ve grown to love Snape without the interest in dark magic and death eaters hanging over their heads. James never had a shot with Snape in the way as they each brought out the worst in each other so James only won cause Snape did the worlds biggest fumble and James came in with the steal lmao.

That's so old fashioned . She should have chosen both . 🤣🤣💯🗿 . It would be epic , + imagine she would have had 1 child from each of them (girl or boy, who knows) . And then harry would have had a bro/sister and they would create forbidden magic and end up like ultimate siblings . They would start living alone together pretty early and eventually get split in 2 by their representative hogwarts houses . Live would become tough for their enemy's since they both learned to appreciate the good and the dark arts . They would be called the mischievous siblings and no one would be safe from them .
Later on snape's son /daughter would join the death esters, however their mischievous practices made him/her turn into a untrustful creature . Death esters start disappearing since she/he joined but no one suspects a thing since she/he has a silver tongue. Snape finds out about his/her human experiments on death esters , however doesn't act upon it . After years of experience, like snape, the child create a spell that allow magic traps to be layed just by uttering the words, however she/he doesn't have enough magic power to cast the spell and thus gives the spell to harry .
Harry, born with almost unlimited magical potential and physical ability like no other, lives his life effortlessly . There was not even one year of struggle and it made him pretty careless . Upon hearing of the new spell, harry learns it immediately . However, disregarding the precaution measures the sibling of him wrote in the letter he quickly makes a mistake. Casting the spell without caution made him loose his entire arm . This is a major change to him since it's the arm he needs to cast spells. Harry gets sent home as he now needs to prepare for life as a disabled person.
Upon that harry's sibling disappeared . Feeling like a failure, she/he swore to create a spell to regenerate missing body parts . Many experiments later, almost all of the death esters got used up and voldemorts force is just a joke now . An idear comes up in his/her head. What if one could experiment on someone who is never gonna die, no matter what you do to them . Thus she/he starts planning to capture and disable the magic capabilities of voldemort .
End of Part 1 of my Harry Potter story lol
    Side fact :
The sibling developed a spell that can hide and place a spell as a magic traps which then can return to spell form once someone walks over it . Harry lost his arm by combining the spell with rectusembra since he wanted to use it on a rat . Since he was inpatient, he was unable to catch it . His anger made him place the spell in the hallway not knowing that there must be 1m distance before casing it, which made him loose his arm .

To be fair, just because James was catcalling her, doesn't mean she had power over the group. She couldn't even get James to leave her alone. I think both she and Snape were at least partly accomodating the power of their house, Pettigrew-style.
