You are not guaranteed a non-violent reaction when you attack a complete stranger and some states have stand-your-ground laws. A stranger does not owe an explanation as to how and to what extent he is going to defend himself. Case in point, a few years ago a college girl called Emily or something hit a blue-collar guy on the way out of the game. He had his back turned. Thinking that he was under attack, he responded with a full fist swing and she landed in a comma. Second, men or women do not owe entitled men and/or women the opportunity to explain themselves after they have breached their personal space and compromised their safety. On the contrary, burning your ex"s stuff is vengeful, calculated and a sign of controlling and abusive behaviour. So the two cases are not at all the same.

Now to be blunt, I do question this a bit, she got hit in the face with a brick? Yet is doesn't seem to have any broken bones, and is just standing around complaining in front of the one who did it and those who watched, and everything just calmed down? She doesn't even seem that hurt and the damage was hard to really make out. It feels like she isn't as hurt as she should be from a brick to the face, and that the situation is unnaturally calm. Someone was mad enough at her to hit her and now is just chill while she calls them all out, this reeks of a skit itself.

The problem is the fact that she was more upset about the fact none of the men that was there did nothing. Think about it, you just got hit in the head with a brick, if you were really hurt and in pain you would have called the cops and try to record the car he got in and the number on the plate. She did not do that, she just started to record herself yelling at the men for not swooping in and protecting her. Her female friends were there and did nothing and she said nothing to or about them not doing anything. I am saying this because she made video after video about how black women are the true protectors of the community, so they don't need men. One of the reasons most black American men and a few black American women are so upset by this is the fact that she is quick to point out the fact that she is Somali and not a black American women. She also never pointed out the fact that she in a Somali neighborhood and that it was Somali men that just sat back and didn't do anything. She left that information out for the reasons, first, she knew that she would be crossing well defined lines and the Somali community would have shunned her. Second, it would not have gone viral because most black American women would have seen it as a "them problem" but by not being specific and saying "black men", bitter black American women would see it as a "we problem" and use it as tool to tear down black American men.

There's multiple pieces to this. 1. Was she antagonizing nearby men? 2. Did she slap multiple nearby men? 3. Did she actually get hit by a brick thrown by a man? 4. Did he throw that brick at her for not getting her number? 5, Was a brick to the face a proportional response? 6. Should anyone else jump in to help (let's not be sexist and only blame men)?
    1. I've seen video of her antagonizing nearby men but don't know if it was that same night. So can't use it.
    2. Same problem.
    3. She was injured, sure, I'll assume it was from a thrown brick.
    4. I don't know his motive and don't trust her explanation given other videos I've seen of her.
    5. The only one that matters - no it isn't proportional to throw a brick after being slapped. But we don't know what really happened, right?
    6. Two big complaints by her, she refused her number and got brick to the face (I don't trust her reason why she got a brick to the face but it seems likely she did and shouldn't have if she wasn't using a weapon when she slapped guys). The second is that men nearby didn't help. To which I say no stranger should just step in given our current legal system. And given feminisms demand that women get treated equal there should be no expectation that men will suffer to defend women they don't know. That social contract has been void for a long while.

It's not justice, it's karma. There's a difference. Women don't come to our aid when we get assaulted and now women are learning how much it sucks to live like a man. That's life for a man, Roma. You get the shit kicked out of you and no one helps you. That's why you don't go around starting fights. Also, if women want men to defend them, well tough shit. You guys need to fulfill your end of the Male/Female social contract that women have broken. That's not on men, that's on women. You guys wanted the freedom and you got it. Now you have the freedom to defend yourselves.
With rights comes responsibility and one cannot have one without the other. Women are just now beginning to understand this.

Assault is assault. Slap, brick whatever. If you hit someone and they hit you back then fair is fair. You don’t want to get hit, don’t hit people. She has gotten away with hitting people because she’s obviously used her gender to defend her actions and I don’t believe she’s learned her lesson since the first thing she did when she got hit with a brick was instantly drop the ‘I’m a woman’ card and start blaming the men around her for not helping. She chose physical violence and she got answered with more physical violence. The lesson here is don’t hit people, period. You reap what you sow.

You're trying to make a case for equality by literally arguing against equality of response? Smart. Telling me to learn about it is pretty condescending and just abjectly false since you're the only one ignorant to how the law works here in pretty much every western country I am aware of.
By your logic, you could murder someone for slapping you. You could murder someone for flicking you. You should probably analyze your premises better before adopting them as principles so they can't be dismantled by a very basic counterargument that took me 5 seconds to consider after reading what you said.

I myself have been attacked by a woman that was being abused while trying to defend her, and I have friends who have been caught up in that crap too. Now to comment on the fact she was hit. A brick is excessive especially when you take into account that she was telling a dude no for her phone number. However; when you make videos of you purposefully attacking people and post them you are bound to be recognized and "retribution" may find you. Again, I do not condone the brick, but she should perhaps reprioritize her life.

You opened that door, you should know the possible consequences of your actions. You have no idea the trauma that person has been through, and how they will react to being attacked. You might not be in the world anymore, before they regain awareness of their surroundings again.
I've always said, if you're a bully, and you've been beating and harassing someone, and think it's great fun, and it never occurs to you, that they person could find you when you're least expecting it, and mess you up many times over. I don't want to hear you whining about how your evil came back at you.
