First off thank you for this reaction. I know myself, and many other veterans, actively seek out reactions to this song in particular because we're masochists. For many of us it is cathartic seeing somebody unaware of our circumstances exposed to them for the first time, and exposing others to it as well. While I haven't seen the homeless stats recently the suicide rates are unchanged.
Shouldn't feel bad about the tears. I tear up every time I watch this, and I've seen it easily a hundred times. Should react to their sister song to this one. A cover of Offspring's Gone Away.
You’re welcome. Yeah, it is not my first time knowing about this. I didn’t know the statistics but I do know that many are homeless and helpless. As for the suicide rate being the same that just breaks my heart.

Actually the suicide rates have changed. Its now 22 Veterans a day commit suicide.

No disrespect, I don't care about illegal immigrants. I'm a US vet and I care about my brothers and sisters in arms. I care about the immigrants that cared enough to go through the legal way to come to this country. I'm a major 5FDP fan and have been for a long time. I'm off topic though. We should be helping our own before we help the world. Its just one mans opinion.
There’s nothing wrong with feeling this way. My grandparents came here from Portugal. My grandma eventually got her green card, but my grandpa never did. But he still always remained in a status legally to stay. I feel the same way you do.

Some of us a just warriors, baby girl. We have it in us to stand up a fight for those who can't.
My first enlistment was up in Oct 02 I dig 4 more years two deployments back to back was two different commands ( decommissioned a ship after first deployment) ended up a officers cook.
Just because someone has the will to fight, does not mean they do so for the right reasons. There are two kinds of warriors, true at heart, and those that have played to much X-box, and think they are invulnerable. Until they get shot at that is, then they shit their pants, come home with P.T.S.D and taxpayers spend the rest of their lives paying for mental health.

Vets. Have to say finding this video is mind blowing, was vet and worked all through this, every single day. Proving for my ex and her two kids, who weren’t mine, monk not special. Just what a man should be: and your intro, let alone reaction are truly mind blowing, like I was paying for their braces and driving lessons as required round this time, but thank you for the reaction and my brothers who reacted, Iraq and Afghanistan multiple times, 05-2010 USMC, and the guy with the messy hair homeless. Smoking, I never was homeless, or messy/long hair, not cause I’m better, because of habit and luck ,only ever been close to homeless at times for a bit over a year…but trust me. You did want to be a cop walking up, or anyone as I was lighting up a smoke, trying to start shit, or question me, back in 2012 or around there…would not end well for you, at all, by provoking me. Last thing you wanted to see, was me lighting up a smoke, as that’s was u tended as my last one. As j threw away my pocket knife and leather man, multi tool, getting ready for the mother of all fist fights. You did t not want to be those cops walking up on my back. As I knew you were there, and the second you tried anything. You paid for it, as you attacked me first, was always recorded. And you left in ambulances, I never even got detained over night multiple times. As I did t start it, bullshit cops did, who thought that had something to prove, who never been to war, let alone deployed. Through they had something to prove, lol. I sit. Care what you been through as a cop, the worst shooting. Which was done by the government and cops, against native Americans . Doesn’t even come close to war, let alone anything modern, so, while bad, I feel for you, you got no idea compared to war son, don’t play that game, you won’t win, physically, mentally. In and actual fight. Or anyway, yours child that don’t know. How many times you had to put matching pieces ina body bag? And pressure wash out surging vehicles of blood? Oh yeah, none, then go back to work for 9 months, and do it again and again at times. Yeah, what I thought. Any stupid ass cop that wants to talk shit an oppose me, I’ll give you my address, I’ll record as you show up, and best your ass as you try to fight me. A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, their life. Regardless of personal political views, that is an Honor and there are way too many people in this country who no longer remember that fact.
Thank you for the reaction I cry when I watch the video and than you crying just made me cry harder to the point my old dog Dexter was giving me kisses. I grew up the same way but with my mother. From your rant as you put it you have a big heart I hope you never lose it. Thank you for your support for us vets I was Navy. One last thing from a Gen X kid keep on joking because laughing is better than crying and Dexter agrees with me just keep safe and keep rocking.

Hey I'm glad you got to listen to this band this is one of my favorite bands I like them mainly because they talk about real things and true things and they sound really good plus I think their all vets also I think that's unique. We sleep soundly in our beds only because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm. I wanted to join the Army since I was little, the romantic bs, loyalty, honor, service. Spent 8 years as an Army sniper before medical discharge. A little wiser now I would still find it worth it to deploy again, conceptually speaking since I'm medically retired. Protecting my brothers and going through hell is worth it to keep those precious to me from having to.
Back when I was in the Army I once came across a homeless guy sitting outside the gas station near my apartment in Fayetteville N.C. I also don't carry cash on me so when he asked me to spare him some change, I said "I'm sorry, I don't have any. I went in, bought beer and then... I bought this guy a sandwich out of the cooler. When I walked out and gave him that sandwich he jumped up and hugged me. Don't need cash, just need kindness. You can also tell which ones would rather have cash for drugs or booze because I once had a homeless dude throw a burger back in my face. If it wasn't cash or drugs, he didn't want it. It depends on a persons situation, as well as their personal willpower and resolve.
This. Yes, I try my best to have snacks/water stocked in my car to hand out to the homeless. When I lived in Knoxville, there was this same old homeless man at the same Walmart exit all the time. Pretty sure he had a missing leg (used a cane) was missing an arm and had a little dog.
One time I gave him a bag full of snacks, some water, probably sprite, and a bag of dog treats. And some people in the car in front of me had given him some food, lien a burger or something. I feel like that’s mor helpful. Eventually I wanna have a stick of blankets/gloves for winter and like sunscreen or other materials to hand out for them.

I have watched reactions for this video at least 23-30 times, and it makes me cry each time. These are my brothers and sisters that are on the streets and are being ignored by the government. They would rather send money to different countries for trans gender studies than to help our troops when they come home from the wars that they, the government sent them to. You have a good heart....

this situation has existed since the Viet Nam war, if not earlier.......discounting the lives of vets is criminal......as a society and as a National Government, we should be ashamed of the 'use them and then discard them' mentality that has permeated modern life........
Let's start helping. Doesn't have to be collective by some organisation. Do as long, as much as you can if its not bothering you financially. Start by one vet per day/week. Just start by one meal.

Thanks for the reaction - You don't need to be rich financially. Be rich emotionally - volunteer at organizations that help Veterans. Listen to a Veteran tell their story - hold their hand and when they cry, cry with them. Get friends and family to do the same. Hi, so...a little tip : Don't put any sort of politics, religion, or any other debatable topics in your videos. As soon as you said "trust in God", I almost skipped the video but decided to be bigger in this instance which is rare for me admittedly. If you talk about politics, 50% (not real statistics, just an example) of the people who click on your video would click off without the song even starting. If you talk about religion, 50% of the people who clicked on your video would click off. If you keep topics like that out of it, you'll get a lot closer to 100% of those clicks actually watching til the end and get more comments and likes. Have a good day!
