"Survivor's Remorse" is what many veterans feel and sometimes go back to combat to try and "make up" for losing other soldiers. I am a combat veteran and have unfortunately seen this with a few people. Thanks for your reaction to this video and giving your thoughts on this issue. Take care.

As Memorial Day approaches in the United States, before you start your BBQ or trip to the lake, check on any of the veterans you might know. For every soldier that was killed in action, there is a veteran that will feel responsible for that loss. Memorial Day is a stark reminder for those that do feel that sense of responsibility. Make sure they are ok.

Thank you for your reminder. Too often, veterans who have served are forgotten by those who they serve. And the only way we #EndaThe22 and #EndThe5000 is if everybody remembers, and everybody makes it a point to let veterans know their service wasn't in vain.
      Again, thank you.

Survivor's guilt is a powerful thing that our Soldiers have to deal with once they return back home that many, many people back home just dont' see or understand. Most recently, survivor's guilt is an untold issue running through our medical community that has watched the impact of COVID has done over the last three years.
That is why I always say about this video. Three soldiers died that day, but four soldiers were lost.

As a veteran of the U.S. army, these songs and videos hit me even harder than they otherwise would. I was in Iraq in 2011, and I heard over 200 explosions while I was over there. Any one of those explosions could have been the one to hit me. Mortars are nothing to fuck with. I felt the shockwave of the mortars while I was on base. Thinking about it now, 12 years later, I can't help but agonize over what so many others have had to deal with that I was lucky enough to never be hit by. That also includes innocent civilians living in those war-torn countries that have nothing to do with their government's decisions. Do the politicians get it yet? No. They don't give a shit. I wish there was a way to put a final end to all of the wars this world fights. I believe there are a lot of people that want peace instead of war, but the ones charge make the decisions to throw more lives away. This song is also a cover of the original by The Offspring. Both versions speak in volumes about this experience. Five Finger Death Punch also illustrates the issues with the government in another song they wrote: "No One Gets Left Behind." They really step up to call out the ones that are making these deadly decisions since they don't seem to have a sense of accountability of their own. I saw 5FDP live last year, and they were every bit as intense in concert as they are in the studio. It was a dream come true because I have been listening to them since about 2005. Keep it metal. \m/

FFDP does a great job of visualizing their messages, regardless of the subject matter. As I've seen people recommending, I fully recommend doing a reaction to their song "Coming Down". Though it depicts very sensitive topics, it is very powerful. For those who may not be interested in their genre of music, I still suggest people not only watch their videos, but also listen to the lyrics in their songs. Sure, this is a cover of a song by The Offspring, but it is songs like this that helps them spread their messages, and helps bring awareness to these issues.

I have listen to these so much and everytime I listen with the visuals it just hit so much harder. They are amazing as bringing light to hard topics.
From listening to reactors that have been in the army or know people that have, they believe that the idea of joining up again could be seen as wanting to go back and use what he knows and has experienced to try and make sure he can save it from happening again. However they also say that it can be seen as going back as he knows nothing else and is just waiting for war to take him too so he can join his fallen friends.

This music video makes such a bigger impact on me now as my major coursework at university this year was to research the impact of landmines, the more I read about them the more horrified I was, land mines actually end up affecting civilians most of the time (70-80%) and 30% are children. at the current rate that humanity is going, it's predicted to take 1000 years before all the current landmines are demined...

Good job Rachel, I am so glad you do these videos. Survivors guilt is a wicked bitch that is hard to shake. I'm NOT a veteran, but I recently lost a very dear friend who was, and you're right it is a disgusting shame how veterans are mistreated by the government. It is an embarrassment. We all need to do whatever we can for these men and women that went above and beyond. I thank all you veterans reading this, peace to you and much love and gratitude from my heart.

I know a lot of guys that came back and wanted nothing more than to go back to the battlefield, for various reasons, some from guilt of losing members of their units, some that went back because they couldn't really function after coming back and realized that war is easier than modern life. Some came back but the war never left them. Most of those friends were marine corps, several of them served with my brother.
The thing is reintegrating with society is hard and they get no real help with that.

Thanks for watching this video. Survivors guilt sucks. At a brother Marines funeral all you can think is, I should be in that box not him, at his grave all you can think is I failed. I spent 7 years with a bullet with my name etched on it after I got out. The bullet is now gone but I still can't stand Memorial Day I have to drink 5 shots for my brothers that aren't with us anymore. One day I will drink a horn with them in Valhalla and all my other warrior brothers and sisters. NEVER FORGOTTEN USMC

Suvivors guilt is a real bitch and can lead people to crave war since that is the only place that makes sense with what they feel. Chaos is the only comfort left.

I read so many things about Our Soldiers fighting for our Country / life. I know that FFDP are pretty patriotic in this case, but people should start to ask themselves if the wars they were sent to are really needed? They did their job, right. But actually the US-Government not just did let them fall after .... The biggest lie is that they make soldiers believe that it is for protection. It never was in the last 20 years. They are used for political interests (Oil, = Money = control) The sad question is: Will this ever end?
The states are the only Country in the world who is permanently involved in a war or at least at the same time more at once, since WW II. Literally!
Let the wars stop even if this would mean a bit less comfort and economic prosperity.
BTW original song is from The Offspring. ;-)

#FFDP There are so many ppl out there who just say the music is just a load of noise, but the musicality and lyrically is something else. Songs like The pride, Wash it al away to name 2.
Tom Macdonalds #Dirtymoney and Citizen Soldier Broken Like Me are on repeat. Have a listen you wont regret it..... Keep em coming Rachel...🥰😍

There's another FFDP song, "Coming Down". Strongly recommend if you've got any history of depression or are emotionally sensitive to the topic, prep yourself first for the lyrics before doing a reaction.
On a different note, if you want to be surprised by a vocal range like Slipknot, check out "Handshake with Hell" by Arch Enemy. "Blind and Frozen" by Beast in Black is also on the list lol.

To this day I have guilt. I live in NJ and was close enough to see the smoke and smell it from the towers collapsing. Close enough to hear the F15s going buster breaking the sound barrier (one of the few times I've ever heard it). Close enough to have have had AH1W attack helicopters with 16 hellfires each and a pair of sidewinders acting like a hunting dog spotting for birds, in my back yard. The guilt I have is because I was so close yet there was fuck all I could do because of my shitty health. I lost friends to shit they dealt with over in Iraq and Afghanistan - the ones that didn't die came back changed.

I won't lie, alot of us pulled multiple tours just for revenge and self spite of the loss we felt: loss of comrades and friends, our innocence, and our faith (God and humanity).

As a Dutch veteran, been in Afghanistan Twice (after that the Netherlands pulled out of Afghanistan) it was a strange world to return home...
Offcause, home is where everyone else is... But some things you learn of do, the things you see and hear... That makes the western world a strange place.
Especially when you learn what (more) are the reasons we needed to go, and we (all) lost good men.
In end, we were send in, and not enough was done afterwards...
    Have you ever tried Pro-Pain?
That is a pretty good band with a special sound!
Songs like 'Take it Personal' would be great starters ...
Although, 'In for the Kill' would be a great if you would like to dive right in.

Veterans do suffer from this, severely. We also suffer from being discarded by the very government that wanted us to serve. Then, when we no longer served a purpose...tossed like yesterdays trash. Ignored...unless its an election year. Then they kiss our asses for our votes...then disappear again. Its been my experience that the ONLY ones who care about Veterans...are other Veterans. We get the 'polite' greetings from civilians, the occasional 'thank you for your service'...but mostly down cast eyes or blank stares.
