PASM is not air suspension. Air Suspension is a $2,190 option above PASM. PASM alone is adaptive steel spring and shocks, with a valve that opens and closes in the steel shock. The optional Air Suspension with PASM is more plush, softer riding, and floats over roads without a spring's rebound oscillation. Air Suspension with PASM is optional on the Panamera, Panamera 4, and Panamera 4S. Standard on all higher trims.
Base model Porsches are almost always the right choice, unless you're buying a track car. Everything is optional, so set a reasonable budget: $10,000-$15,000 will usually turn the base model into an excellent car.
alliejr. I most certainly agree, that’s what we did. Negotiated the price on a model with the options we wanted, went from $110k to $90k OTD. Porsche San Diego. Awesome car! Didn’t need to be car poor trying to move up model levels. The 21” sport design wheel does wonders for the looks. Not sure where he got his car to review buts it’s exterior looks filthy.
Exactly. Its no reason to buy the 4s or Turbo unless you plan on going to a track. You can't go faster than 80mph on the highway in USA. I don't see the reason to pay all the extra money for the higher end models.
Great review and an accurate portrayal. Yes the missing safety features take a little getting use to. However as far as drive quality and actually being able to apply the power to the road... And especially having the confidence to do it while cornering. There are few vehicles that come close. It's a large sedan(length equivalent to a mid sized suv) extremely comfortable drive. Practical. Even when loading a toddler into the car seat. And ample performance to get through traffic, be the first at the next light, make the changing light, as well as slip into a gap of a lazy driver in traffic(Who may have his adaptive cruise control engaged). The sound of the turbo in sports mode is rather exciting. And yes it does not press you against the seat. It does however stop on a dime! With no lateral movement to speak of. Coming from a fully loaded SL400 into this vehicle, I have 0 regrets! @
Maybe you guys may be able to tell me - noticed that the badge on the hood does not say “Stuttgart”. While on other models it does. I vaguely remember someone telling me that only Porsche’s made in Stuttgart get this badge while those made elsewhere get the non-Stuttgart badge. Or maybe it’s those made in Germany vs those made outside Germany. Any idea?
Ugh. Too stripped. The $6,250 Premium Package Plus is the minimum acceptable Porsche. I need the lumbar support, keyless entry, keyless start, and blind spot monitoring. Otherwise I'd be thinking, I should have got an Infiniti/Genesis/Lexus, which would have all these things.
You could buy 3 Hyundais with even more features :):):) People who don't understand what's it all about, like this nerd in the video, don't deserve a Porsche :)
The Sonata is a great car. You can keep one and give four to your wife and adult children or brothers and sisters. In 5 years the resale value of the five Sonatas will probably be more than the one Panamera.
Yeah, except they have things like fucking adjustable lumbar, keyless entry, and adaptive cruise control. This Panamera is absolutely not worth 100k. They start to become worth it in the higher end packages. But this stripped, V6 piece of garbage is not.
I remember how nice it was to "sail" using a stick, simply hold down the clutch pedal! Won't be too long before we sound like old curmudgeons taking about how much we enjoyed manual transmissions.
In recent years, this car has become undesirable in Atlanta area. It's become such a common car that it's lost it's special touch. These are more common than Corvettes and the Cayenne. Better options for a fraction of the price
Not fast. LOL!!! Everybody so used to a million horse power now. Trust anything from at least the least 250HP is not slow. Especially when you tie in the weight of the vehicle.
And especially if you are from the USA... with its ridiculously low speed limit of 65 mph. Americans could never take this car to its limits... A Panamera is made for German conditions, and this should be enough for American roads as well. It's quite funny, if Americans consider this car as "not particularly fast"... WTF??? Oh yes..., because that's the reason for being a "base model"... What do they expect? For them every Porsche should be going "supercar fast"... for "only 100.000 Dollars"? This guy cruises along with this Panamera in perfect "grandma style"... It's really funny watching this. Hey: this Panamera is absolutely fantastic, if you want it really to GO...! But if you are to unexperienced or simply to "dumb" driving fast with this car, please step out of it! Greetings from Germany!
@@Porsche1969 I ordered this panamera (base model) in China and it costed me almost USD195000 (including $50000 options) and 6 months waiting, envy Americans such a good price!!
Val Strambu lol Porsche severely underrates their times this 5.4 is prob more like 4.4 my uncles porsche was rated at 4.4 but on Road and Track went 3.4 sec
So many lacking features at nearly $100k! This has to be one of the most overpriced cars on sale today. The Mercedes E-Class and BMW 5 series seem like bargains.
Sergiu Puscasu My dad has a Panamera and trust me the car is defenitely not overpriced. You got to drive it to know how it feels. Plus the car is fast as hell for a limousine, nothing compared to an E class or a 5, what a joke.
@@arnaudvankeirsbilck8717 yeah, but you have to pay extra for a lot of basic luxury car options. It may drive well, but if it's equipped like a basic ford Focus, then no thanks. The car is made to be luxurious, as well as drive fast.

Truly enjoy the Craig Coles Curbed episodes.

8:22 you got my thumb 😂😂😂
Very well done 👏🏼
Drove in the turbo version and it was a thrill! MSRP is $157K!
This car makes a BMW, Mercedes and Audi feel old. If you have a 100k you got 140k for a loaded one.

Awesome Video Of 2018 Porsche Panamera 😄
Did you just called me a filthy feeding vagrant?
Kaito Nakajima What makes you think I called you that?
r/woosh
Now that rude
As if this dude is not an absolute D and D expert! Great review

sandofarms but do you own one?

dude my 03 ford expedition xlt has lumber support adjustment...………..
And that means it's better than the Panamera :) :)
Porsche Slogan: Once you pick your options, we append the car free.
Is 4 a base model? I plan to buy one
This car screams lease
Shame on Porsche for charging extra for keyless start. A feature that was standard on my Camry from 2007.
Craig...the Brian Cooley of this channel. Must see reviews....
For 100k you could buy five 2018 Hyundai Sonatas on year-end sale and have money left over.
But then you're left with five Hyundai Sonatas...

I've seen this guy in science videos while getting my Master's. He should be a voice actor.
It doesn't have adjustable lumbar? That's hilarious. Nice not to have lane keep assist or auto braking, though.
I remember how nice it was to "sail" using a stick, simply hold down the clutch pedal! Won't be too long before we sound like old curmudgeons taking about how much we enjoyed manual transmissions.
Harold Wormser is a master of aerodynamics
W! T! F! It's criminal to not have keyless entry at this price point.
How about an entertainment show called “Crubed”?
I love my 2 seat Porsche but this one looks like a great choice once my fiancé and I start having kids!
Marry me!!!
Rip-off When brand new. Always best bought second hand with a warranty.
Nice car but the prices on these are ridiculous , top of line E- Hybrid is over $250,000 , with that money I rather buy a Bentley
Here I thought I was a failure for not owning a Porsche. Now I find out that I'd be an idiot to own one. Thanks, Craig Cole!
Wow, so you're listening to a nerd who probably drives a Ford estate :)
Why does the thumbnail look like a Tesla Model 3
Sounds very loud inside.
You'll get this one if you want less issues
Wtf our panamera does have heated steering wheel and acc and ventilated seats

Stupid car for the money great review like always Craig !
What a joke of a car for $100k... it’s worth 60-70k tops as it sits.. not 100. Hard pass
12.3” screen!
That button on the steering wheel looks like a giant tumor.
It's almost 2019.

Very expesive Audi A7. Nothing Porsche about it
96 grand and doesn’t have “standard” features.. wtf are you even paying 96k for? Originally had plans to get this but now never mind 🤦♂️
Those wheels 🤮
This is the cheapest optioned panamera ive ever seen
Buy him a decent shirt.
For that much money, I would absolutely get an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.
And it will be in the shop more than in your garage.
Except for poor people 😂😂😂😂
