Why You SHOULD Visit St Anne's-On-The-Sea - Seafront TOUR, Lancashire
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 бер 2022
- Just two miles from the bright lights of Blackpool, Lytham and St Annes are worlds apart in both character and atmosphere. The seaside towns are nestled along a picturesque stretch of coastline lined with well-tended lawns, a boating lake, and pretty parks.
With an expansive sandy beach Victorian pier, historic windmill, a ‘royal’ golf course, and stylish independent shops, the dual seaside towns of Lytham and St Annes continue to remind us why we all love the British seaside so much.
Since 2012 the now award-winning St Annes Beach Huts, including an award at the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2015, have given us another reason to spend more time on this part of the Fylde coast.

do you ever visit?
@@WalkWithMeTim yes most times its less hassled than blackpool
My wife She Wolf and I usually stay, just up the road, in the King`s Suite at the Best Western Lothersdale Hotel. Not been to St Annes, before. Thanks for showing us a round, next time we`re down in Morecambe we`ll certainly take time out to go visit St Annes.
St Annes, together with its 'partner', Lytham, contain many, many gems of real interest. Of course you can't include all of them in this sort of walk-through, but others may be interested to know that the War Memorial in Ashton Gardens shows something very rarely seen on War Memorials of that era - a shell-shocked soldier, a grieving widow and women both on active service and on the Home Front. It is truly beautiful and very moving.
Agree
Lizzie I really like St annes
Adorable. Flying over from New York to Lytham St Annes for a wedding. Can't wait.
Im from Sweden, but my grandparents have lived in St Annes for the past 35 years. Spent every summer of my life over there, unfortunately they're moving back to Sweden now... Going to miss walking the promenade and playing golf at St Annes old links during the summers.
Such a lovely place, great video!
That brings back some memories. I used to go there often as a child with my parents. It hasn't changed much except that it used to have a salt water open air swimming pool which I think was where the "boating pool" and lifeboat station is now. It must be 50 years since I was there. I hope the pier gets some attention soon. It's looking pretty ropey underneath.
agree
I used to live in Lytham. Only for 2 years but they are cherished memories
wow
Aaw, great memories for me of days out with my mum and dad when I was a child. We’d walk around the gardens, go on one of the boats on the lake and finish off the day with fish and chips by the windmill at Lytham. Happy days.
sounds great Linz
Lytham st Anne's and Southport are absolutely stunning places. Top class sea side area's. Blackpool is very busy, but Lytham is 5 mins down and so much nicer 😊😊
beautiful place st annes im 53 now now and as a kid aged from 10 onwards my mam and dad used to always take me ,i walked under that water fall many times ,we had a old bedford van and we put a matress in the back and stayed in the carpark next to the railway cafe lol good days ,les dawson lived in st annes as did george formby .
Full of famous faces from the past
Beautiful camera work, Tim. Just catching up on some viewing and I think St Anne's is going on my ever-increasing bucket list. The gardens and beach are both gorgeous. Thanks for the look see!
You are welcome Kim
I always stay at the st Ives when I visit Blackpool. It's a lovely relaxed stay in st Anne's. I live an early morning jog on the beach in mid may and to watch the kite festival on the sand dunes. Beautiful video Tim, thankyou so much. I lost my father yesterday and we shared many happy memories together here x
I'm so sorry to hear that my deepest condolences
@@WalkWithMeTim thankyou so much. We both liked to watch you videos together in the evenings with a brew. He would have appreciated your message. Thankyou Tim and Gaby x
Lytham and St Annes is lovely....quite an expensive place to live but has a lovely high street with lots of independent shops, cafes and restaurants as well as a stunning beach.....Can also recommend going through Blackpool to Thornton Clevelys which also has a stunning promenade and beach
Thanks for the tips!
I live just down the road from St Annes and I definitely much prefer enjoying a day out there to Blackpool. That sunset was beautiful.
My Childhood. I grew up in At Anne's from the early 70s to the mid 80s. Great memories sand yachting, The Vic, The Talbot ,The Queens. Dutton Foreshaw Leyland dealers. Woolworths. Loved growing up there
St Anne's-on-the-sea looks lovely ! Thank you Tim for a great video 🙂

but still prefer Blackpool !lol
Looks beautiful there Tim, thanks for sharing another fantastic vlog. Best wishes to all the family 🥰🥰👍
Thank you! You too!
That was a nice place .love the station cafe with the old train carrages so retro , also the walk through the waterfall looked so relaxing.
I had a long drive here so was very needed
St annes was my 1st ever holiday away from Manchester in 1985 when I was 9.As a family in them days my mam and dad done the best they could with 3 young children so going to St annes was the best thing ever🤣.I've been all over the world since but I still regularly visit St annes and lytham as I live in Clitheroe in the ribble valley so it not far away.Me and the Mrs will definitely move to lytham in a couple of years to be beside the sea.🙏
I think a lot do
What a lovely place! Definitely on the list for a visit. Thanks for showing us!
Thanks Foxy
Me and my family quite often go to Blackpool, the last time we went, I was driving, decided to drive through St Annes on the way in one day as our hotel was further away than normal. Even though it was night time, and we only drove along the seafront for around 1 mile, it is such a beautiful little place. The sand dunes and the pier are awesome
Another great & fantastic video of St Anne's-On-The-Sea Seafront TOUR - Lancashire!.❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it
Lovely video - St Anne’s looks like a really nice place. Thanks Tim 😊😊
It really is!
It’s very calming very beautiful.
I think so too!
I was born in St Annes - brought back lots of memories! And in the opening shot you had the road I lived on - nice one!
Thank for watching Roger! its a lovely place
I stayed with friends in one of the seafront hotels in St. Annes. Inn On The Prom. We went September 2020 when things were opening, but there was still mask wearing when in the main foyer. Allowed dogs, my friend brought her little terrier cross. It was a nice hotel, but it got pretty busy. St. Annes itself is a lovely little gem. Nice walks on the front and just behind the back of the seafront hotels there's your standard shops and little cafes and eateries.
Great video, very professional, and so enjoyable to watch on a bleak wet December day
Hi all looking lovely there, horrid rain and wind here today, thanks Tim for nice walk, loving the waterfall
Glad you enjoyed it
Great st Anne’s looks a beautiful place thank you sharing Tim

Awesome, thank you!
Thanks Tim love St Ann's, long time since we were there, loved the walk under the pier, looking forward to the next one 😀
you know me a good walk under the pier has to be done!
Sure does,lovely architect,
indeed
Lovely seaside, massive beach, nice in the summer though,
Never thought about visiting here before, whilst down in Blackpool. Will definitely check - it - out in the future. Thanks for the information!
You are welcome thanks Jennifer
Just watched your video it's a nice place st Anne's I love going there every time I go to blackpool
Me too 😜
My hometown!
We was recommended St Annes years back and we still find ourselves going every year. This year we went Haven's Cala Gran which we ended up loving and spent one day at St Anne's. The beach sells itself and the resturaunts are always good. The chippy is always packed on a hot day. This video doesn't even cover all the shops either. It's just a nice place to go if you're looking for weekend stay.
That was great Tim, cheers! What a Bonkers Pier too; never seen anything quite like it.
Its very different lol
My other half’s cousins stay here from time to time they love ballroom dancing so they go to the tower ballroom and dance the night away it’s a lovely place by the way greetings from Scotland 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Yes it sometimes nice to be close but not stay in Blackpool
Madness, just found your channel today and this is my home town
Thanks Owen, hope you subscribed too 😉
Give me this place over tacky Blackpool any day of the week. Chers for this Tim, loved it.
you are welcome Jeff
Just watched your new video on St Annes on the sea very enjoyable will worth a visit Tim it's so under rated as a resort Thank you again 👍
I agree Neil!
I been 2 st Anne's in July this year l love it I will be back next year from joyce in Glasgow ❤❤❤❤
Lovely weather there mate...must give that place a look..👍
You should!
Great video Tim, I live just down the road in Lytham and your video is a great advertisement for the attractions in the area ;) Keep up the great work
Thanks
Love St Annes, its the opposite of Blackpool...last time I took my dad to the lights, I brought him here and to Fairhaven Lake, he loved
Really great video. St Anne's is wonderful. Stayed here in 2017 with the family. Even at the height of summer it wasn't too busy, beach is gorgeous, plenty to do with the pier, golf, walking or just relax on the beach. Short hop to Blackpool on the train if you want, have a go on the Big One. Would definitely recommend.
Totally agree!
I don't remember any of St. Anne's but many decades since I went on caravan holidays in the 80's.
Nice place, to many miles away to visit,
Wow that was very good it does look very genteel
what a word to describe it ;-) Genteel lol love it Ron
Looks lovely❤️
I was on the phone to you on the beach lol
@@WalkWithMeTim haha! Timing not so great! x
@@tarba lol
Amazing vlog . Lovely beach and pier 48.9k subs so close to 50k
🎉
how .. added a bar lol
When we were kids, we used to holiday a lot here. At the end of the pier, which burned down, there was a RNLI museum, a bar and nightclub, a small aviary and aquarium and an even smaller crazy golf course. On the pier itself was a small go-cart track( but they looked more like dodgem cars) and a drinks machine that sold Coca-Cola that was so icy cold, it used to freeze your throat!
Wow .. thanks for sharing
Great vlog Tim, you are doing the North proud😁 Looking forward to your hotel vlog, got a feeling it’s not too far from here🙈
😉
he he - with that tractor engine idling in the back ground the train illusion was completed
Did you ever think you would be lucky enough to live your life with your lovely wife - new born child and have a job which is basically wandering the seaside and enjoying its attractions ? Sometimes you can look at your cards and realise you have a winning hand lol
I know Darren
@@WalkWithMeTim count your blessings man
everyday! altho not a full time job income
As a resident of St Annes, thanks for this excellent vid!
The jetty at 16:00 was part of the original pier which was burned down in about 1978 - check out some historical pictures.
If you like the ornamental gardens then you should check out the Ashton Gardens, especially the sunken rose garden and duck pond with bridges.
Hi Tim never been to Saint Ann's loved the video especially the waterfall going behind it was glad you showed us under the pier I am surprised you did not stop of in that train cafe it certainly was different in there
yes but was in a rush lol
Thats a shame you were in a rush perhaps next time if you do another video on saint Anne's
Brave Tim on the stones take care
lol
My hometown ❤️
:-)
Going to Blackpool next week, we plan to visit St Ann's and going to give that train cafe thing a go, looks different, reminded me that back in the late 60's or early 70's (I was only a wee whipper snipper at the time) in Ingoldmells Skeggy there was a double decker bus made in to a fish and chip restaurant with the seating on the top deck, never forgot it.
you should its a great experience
i always stay every april at the inn on the prom hotel.
Great video Tim!!! We want to start doing the thing you do!🥰
You can do it!
@@WalkWithMeTim thankyou Tim!!❤
just watched one of your vids! they are GREAT keep going!
@@WalkWithMeTim thankyou Tim!!! What would you recommend doing or going for starting off❤
Thank you for sharing there from the UK.
Enjoying your walk from all the way here in Chicago, Illinois USA.
Thanks for watching!
is it cold at the mo.. dont forget to subscribe
@@WalkWithMeTim Thank you. It has been a few years since being in the UK, London. I have friends there made from my previous airline company.
I absolutely love Lytham & St Anne’s……..fantastic vlog. May I ask what camera are you using? The quality is stunning!
In the description ;-)
Great video! I live in st Anne’s. The ‘dock’ actually isn’t a dock, the pier used to go all the way out until a fire burnt it down- that is the remainder of it :)
Yes I mentioned that lol
I wonder if people from Blackpool come here for a quiet day out, beautiful place, I've been through it never actually stopped there
The official name for the town is Lytham St Annes, but there are three distinct bits to it. St Annes on Sea, Ansdell and Fairhaven, and Lytham. All have their own identities and grew up as separate
There's a train cafe like that at pleasurewood hills in lowestoft.
indeed!
I lived there back in the 1970s when house prices were affordable, it was excellent then and even quieter. Excellent video too; follow me too on railways. Mike Wilcock
Thanks Mike
Lytham is so picturesque , you have shown it off nicely !....any chance you could do a video on NEW BRIGHTON on the wirral Tim?
Will do Peter, thanks for watching
My home town
😀
A pleasure to watch , not got anything funny to say so I'll jog on ,hope family ok
Thanks Paul
@@WalkWithMeTim back home in June, will keep an eye out
@@paulaustin4720 ;-)
We visit At Anne's quite often it has the best beach in the north west IMO. Have you ever done any of the islands round the UK like the isles of Scilly?
not yet ;-)
Looks really nice and well looked after unlike (dare I say it) it's neighbour to the North.
Lol
Great video Tim looks so nice there much quieter than Blackpool itself and not dissimilar to Yarmouth where the Waterways are! Don’t know if you saw my message on Stephen’s WOTWS but I’ll be back for Sunday’s live. Apologies for my absence this week this was due to family affairs. Did I also see you are doing three Blackpool videos next week?
No need to apologise.. and yes I am 😉
@@WalkWithMeTim excellent can’t wait 👍
:-)
Great videos I note nothing north of Whitby ?
will be soon ;-)
Hi Tim how are you ? That place looks nice not far from Blackpool which I have been to years ago but didn't know such a place as St Anne's
yes just down from Blackpool
@@WalkWithMeTim I'll have to visit someday but on a nice day preferably
yes the sun does make the difference lol
St Anne’s has got nothing to entertain, an excuse for a pier with no sea and expensive car parking, But it would be a beautiful place to live without doubt.
I have lived in St Annes fo the last 28 yrs and some nice shops have closed but young couples with children come here on holiday rather than Blackpool.
Omg we are known for slipping on rocks
;-)
Tim is there parkes for touring caravan in st Anne's please, been watching your video from 1yr ago xxthank you.😊
Not that I know of
my dad owns cafe on the pier
