My wife She Wolf and I usually stay, just up the road, in the King`s Suite at the Best Western Lothersdale Hotel. Not been to St Annes, before. Thanks for showing us a round, next time we`re down in Morecambe we`ll certainly take time out to go visit St Annes.
Im from Sweden, but my grandparents have lived in St Annes for the past 35 years. Spent every summer of my life over there, unfortunately they're moving back to Sweden now... Going to miss walking the promenade and playing golf at St Annes old links during the summers. Such a lovely place, great video!
St Annes, together with its 'partner', Lytham, contain many, many gems of real interest. Of course you can't include all of them in this sort of walk-through, but others may be interested to know that the War Memorial in Ashton Gardens shows something very rarely seen on War Memorials of that era - a shell-shocked soldier, a grieving widow and women both on active service and on the Home Front. It is truly beautiful and very moving.
Aaw, great memories for me of days out with my mum and dad when I was a child. We’d walk around the gardens, go on one of the boats on the lake and finish off the day with fish and chips by the windmill at Lytham. Happy days.
beautiful place st annes im 53 now now and as a kid aged from 10 onwards my mam and dad used to always take me ,i walked under that water fall many times ,we had a old bedford van and we put a matress in the back and stayed in the carpark next to the railway cafe lol good days ,les dawson lived in st annes as did george formby .
Lytham st Anne's and Southport are absolutely stunning places. Top class sea side area's. Blackpool is very busy, but Lytham is 5 mins down and so much nicer 😊😊
That brings back some memories. I used to go there often as a child with my parents. It hasn't changed much except that it used to have a salt water open air swimming pool which I think was where the "boating pool" and lifeboat station is now. It must be 50 years since I was there. I hope the pier gets some attention soon. It's looking pretty ropey underneath.
My Childhood. I grew up in At Anne's from the early 70s to the mid 80s. Great memories sand yachting, The Vic, The Talbot ,The Queens. Dutton Foreshaw Leyland dealers. Woolworths. Loved growing up there
My family and I moved to the area around 8 years ago and only recently (2024) ventured down to St Anne’s. We love the Ornamental Gardens. We usually walk down and make a day of it. One of our children uses, but is not restricted to, a wheelchair. Accessibility to the beach is brilliant down there. We love chilling out by the pier and treating the family to rich and chips and an icecream. Funnily enough even as ‘locals’ it feel like a day at the seaside. We really do love the area.
I always stay at the st Ives when I visit Blackpool. It's a lovely relaxed stay in st Anne's. I live an early morning jog on the beach in mid may and to watch the kite festival on the sand dunes. Beautiful video Tim, thankyou so much. I lost my father yesterday and we shared many happy memories together here x
@@WalkWithMeTim thankyou so much. We both liked to watch you videos together in the evenings with a brew. He would have appreciated your message. Thankyou Tim and Gaby x
The official name for the town is Lytham St Annes, but there are three distinct bits to it. St Annes on Sea, Ansdell and Fairhaven, and Lytham. All have their own identities and grew up as separate
Lytham and St Annes is lovely....quite an expensive place to live but has a lovely high street with lots of independent shops, cafes and restaurants as well as a stunning beach.....Can also recommend going through Blackpool to Thornton Clevelys which also has a stunning promenade and beach
Beautiful camera work, Tim. Just catching up on some viewing and I think St Anne's is going on my ever-increasing bucket list. The gardens and beach are both gorgeous. Thanks for the look see!
We was recommended St Annes years back and we still find ourselves going every year. This year we went Haven's Cala Gran which we ended up loving and spent one day at St Anne's. The beach sells itself and the resturaunts are always good. The chippy is always packed on a hot day. This video doesn't even cover all the shops either. It's just a nice place to go if you're looking for weekend stay.
St annes was my 1st ever holiday away from Manchester in 1985 when I was 9.As a family in them days my mam and dad done the best they could with 3 young children so going to St annes was the best thing ever🤣.I've been all over the world since but I still regularly visit St annes and lytham as I live in Clitheroe in the ribble valley so it not far away.Me and the Mrs will definitely move to lytham in a couple of years to be beside the sea.🙏
My other half’s cousins stay here from time to time they love ballroom dancing so they go to the tower ballroom and dance the night away it’s a lovely place by the way greetings from Scotland 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Me and my family quite often go to Blackpool, the last time we went, I was driving, decided to drive through St Annes on the way in one day as our hotel was further away than normal. Even though it was night time, and we only drove along the seafront for around 1 mile, it is such a beautiful little place. The sand dunes and the pier are awesome
Thanks for this. Have spent many Summer days out there in years gone by. Brought back some really happy memories. Looking forward to visiting again now. 🤗🌞🤗
As a resident of St Annes, thanks for this excellent vid! The jetty at 16:00 was part of the original pier which was burned down in about 1978 - check out some historical pictures.
Recently subbed you and really enjoying your vids mate ! Better than a lot of telly presenters and excellent production / coverage / photography . A superb introduction to places we haven't been to with visiting prospects . You deserve every success matey 😊👍🍻
Hi Tim ! What a beautiful peaceful seaside town . Looks so lovely with the sun and the blue skies . The pier looks really classic I would like to have seen you walk alone it . The victorians really did put there mark on the beautiful seaside towns we have he in the UK. Thankyou for sharing with us. Love to you as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
I stayed with friends in one of the seafront hotels in St. Annes. Inn On The Prom. We went September 2020 when things were opening, but there was still mask wearing when in the main foyer. Allowed dogs, my friend brought her little terrier cross. It was a nice hotel, but it got pretty busy. St. Annes itself is a lovely little gem. Nice walks on the front and just behind the back of the seafront hotels there's your standard shops and little cafes and eateries.
Going to Blackpool next week, we plan to visit St Ann's and going to give that train cafe thing a go, looks different, reminded me that back in the late 60's or early 70's (I was only a wee whipper snipper at the time) in Ingoldmells Skeggy there was a double decker bus made in to a fish and chip restaurant with the seating on the top deck, never forgot it.
Really great video. St Anne's is wonderful. Stayed here in 2017 with the family. Even at the height of summer it wasn't too busy, beach is gorgeous, plenty to do with the pier, golf, walking or just relax on the beach. Short hop to Blackpool on the train if you want, have a go on the Big One. Would definitely recommend.
When we were kids, we used to holiday a lot here. At the end of the pier, which burned down, there was a RNLI museum, a bar and nightclub, a small aviary and aquarium and an even smaller crazy golf course. On the pier itself was a small go-cart track( but they looked more like dodgem cars) and a drinks machine that sold Coca-Cola that was so icy cold, it used to freeze your throat!
Gorgeous day Tim. This is just a beautiful place. You make me wish I could come over for a visit to some of these amazing places… but for now I am so glad to get to walk with you and see this. Thank you! You do such a wonderful job.👏🏻☀️👍
Hi Tim never been to Saint Ann's loved the video especially the waterfall going behind it was glad you showed us under the pier I am surprised you did not stop of in that train cafe it certainly was different in there
Great video! I live in st Anne’s. The ‘dock’ actually isn’t a dock, the pier used to go all the way out until a fire burnt it down- that is the remainder of it :)
