Okay, I have been thinking about posting this, and now seems a good time. I am not in a position to travel, and I haven't found a lot of travel videos all that interesting, I guess. However, I can't get enough of YOUR videos. I watch them all the way through, and I learn so much about what is out there. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you. Thank you for taking me traveling with you. I can't wait to see where you take me to next.
When we went to The Needles it was wet and windy. Just after we came up on the chairlift it was shut. I was convinced my six year old daughters wellington boot was going to fall off.
Really !! It’s not much of an island tour ! Alum baby is fantastic missed so much off & his accommodation well you can go abroad for two weeks for that price with guaranteed sunshine he got to colwell bay didn’t mention they don’t like dogs & totally missed totland bay also missed priory bay !! R even Yarmouth where I stayed last year was great , you can’t do iow in 30mins on a wkend ,I’ve been going 40 yrs & still find something different !
My Ashmore ( Ashmere) family sailed from the Isle of Wight on, “The ship Ark and the pinnace Dove, set sail from Cowes, Isle of Wight, England on November 22, 1633.” Landed in Maryland. I lived in Maryland for a number of years and did not know it at the time. So much rich history there. Sadly, I’ll never be able to return there to Maryland or The Isle to investigate.
As somebody from the north east of England, may I just say that the most important thing about the Isle of wight... Is the Rainbow Chippy But I do have another memory. My friend and I were touring the 3 towns on the south east, probably Shanklin, we had stopped for an iced lolly. we sat beside a minature golf course, where a 3 year old lass was having a day out with her 4 grandparents. this kid swung the golf club, not even looking, and the ball shot down the green, bounced off three sides, and scored a hole in one. My pal and i cheered, the grandparents cheered, passing seagulls did a Mexican wave. All while the girl looked bewildered. it was adorable.

This is one of the best videos you've done Tim! We came to the IOW for our honeymoon! It was beautiful! We did all the things you've shown on your video and more! I've said from the day we left that it's my ideal place to live when we're older! 🥰
You're absolutely right about just how beautiful the island is. I'm lucky enough to live here, and you will actually see me enjoying the sun at Colwell Bay on my mobility scooter (video marker 6:53). When the South Coast of England is cloudy or raining we here in the West Wight side of the Island are often in sunshine, that happens so often it's strange.

Hi Tim! I live on the Isle of Wight and its so weird to watch you exploring my home! You picked a great time to visit with the weather. Its a beautiful place when the sun shines!
I was 3 yrs old when I first holidayed in shanklin with mum ,dad, and my 8 siblings ,we would visit yearly for 2wks in July, for the next 45yrs eventually bringing our own children with us .now I'm bringing my grandchildren with us.i wouldn't holiday anywhere else in the world ♥️♥️
Living on the South coast, I have often visited the Isle of wight. A tiny island with so much! You obviously enjoyed your trip, but you have only scratched the surface of what this island has to offer all visitors!
I grew up here, born and raised. This is surreal for me, its nice to see someone seeing my place from a tourist lens. Local lens you see this place quite differently, also Shanklin chine is now closed, dont think theyve opened it.
Spent my early years in the 60's holidaying on the IOW, mainly in Sandown....the Browns golf centre and boating lake with their fresh cream cakes and just along a bit the Zoo, you never mentioned Blackgang Chine or the coloured sand at Alum Bay, we used to get the train from London to Portsmouth and go across on the ferry and ride the old stock London underground trains down the pier, I went on one of the first hovercrafts from Southsea across to the IOW, great times ....
As a subscriber for over a year and as someone who visits my dad on the Isle of Wight it’s surreal that you’re here exploring places I’m familiar with! Funnily enough my Dad lived opposite Haven Hall so it’s even stranger watching this!
As someone who visits the island regularly this is a great video. Haven Hall is a fantastic place I've been lucky enough to stay there a few times. Yes it's not the cheapest but you get what you pay for in life. The owners are great people, with the right balance of engaging and chatting if you want or completely leaving you to your own devices for privacy. It's their refurbished amazing dream home and they're happy to share it with you (and yes for a fair price helps keep up the maintenance of this lovely residence). If you want a high-end relaxing peaceful holiday in an amazing location on the Isle of Wight this is the spot.
Love isle of wight. Had some lovely holidays here as a child. Last time here was 20 years ago almost to visit osborne house for the 2nd time. Stunning property.
Wow, that looks like a super duper great holiday! You are so lucky to live close to a place like that. I never knew England had any nice beaches at all! Do you go swimming in the water in the summer or is it too cold? Also, the video when you were on holiday with your family was quite lovely cottage & beaches. Cheers! Too bad your wife & little Casper couldn’t join you. Maybe next time.
Seeing the model village brought back a memory I didn't even know I had! I couldn't have been more than 6 or 7 years old when my parents took me there. Watching your video brought it back, after all these decades, so that was a real treat. 😊
I remember playing with a band at Osborne house for a wedding reception. The evening finished late and we were going to miss the last ferry back to the mainland. As soon a security found out, not only did they call up the ferry company and told them to wait but drove us especially to the ferry dock. Should have seen the looks of the passengers as we walked up the car ramp with our guitars on our backs while the security waved at the pilot of the feery to say that he could now leave. My most rock and roll moment 😂
I think this has been my favorite place you have visited so far, and I've watched quite a few! The place you stayed was beautiful, what a stunning place!

The Isle of Wight is a special place. My parents took me there as a child and I have taken my children there many times. It's a family island so Gaby and Casper would love it there too.
We lived on the Isle of Wight for 3 years and I still miss the place! We had a nice thatched cottage in Shanklin Old Village (very near the Chine!) and I loved sitting in the bath with the window open listening to the sea. Sadly the job market there is terrible, we had to move to retain decent jobs.
Being from Edinburgh, I visited the Isle of Wight just once, in my late teens, when I stayed with my uncle in Portsmouth for a few nights. I got the boat over on my own....wandered around Cowes for an hour, then jumped back on the boat to go back. I just went to say I'd been there lol
The Island (as opposed to any other island 😉) is a wonderful place to live. For me, I love that there’s so much to see and do and experience, and such variety, within a small geographical area.
Went there once with my family.I was around ten yrs old i guess and we stayed at a hotel off of shanklin beach i think.loved it till so e guy encouraged me to follow him up the road (the road continued uphill) i had been on the beach do i was without sandals and walking on the hot road with no sandaks my feet began to burn. Thank god i realized something wasnt quite right so i turned about and ran dowhill burnt feet and all and found mum and dad.Never forgotten that, guess i was lucky but even so i livedthe isle of white so it was lovely seeing it through your video video. I proposed to my girlfriend in Shanklin Chine over 3 years ago now im going back in June of this year for my stag do wouldn't go anywhere else the Isle of Wight is an absolutely beautiful place would highly recommend 🎉
My dad took me many times as a child after my parents divorced . Treasured memories of shanklin , catching crabs on the beach, the smugglers museum and the chimes and pub at the bottom at sunset.
I was sat on the sea front of Shanklin at 7pm on a mid October evening and although windy, wasn't particularly cold.... although the ice cream made us cold, but it was delicious. 😅❤
Love the Isle of Wight! Had the best time there! You should do a part 2! Go to black gang chine, and see the pirate caves and stuff! 😍 there's some amazing filming opportunities at blackgang chine! It's like a walkthrough theme park! 😍
I went to the Isle of white in 1976 as a kid and during the drought. What a beautiful place, I fell in love with Blackgang chine, I haven’t been back but I would love to. I had never been abroad then but it was so hot I thought I was in Spain.
What a joyful escape your video is! I am a history buff and it was fantastic to see the wartime bunkers. The waterfall was I expected and beautiful. Many thanks from Australia ✨😊☀️P.S your filming and editing just keeps getting better! I honestly don’t know how you keep creating such great content but keep it up ☺️🏆
You literally went to my favourite places on the island (Colwell Bay a massive bonus because that’s where I stay). I would highly recommend Yarmouth, a tiny beautiful town right next to the sea with some amazing pubs and shops
I guess someone has to be negative as well as gushing positives. Having lived on the island for many years I will say you show the absolute best and have done well for the tourist board... But... lets be honest, £1300 for two night B&B, £50 for half a lobster, doesn't sound like the average tourist. Let's not also forget the extortionate ferry cost of around £300 return for a car (at the time you travelled) to around £600 for a period return in the summer. You may only see a subsidised travel cost handed out to punters and don't see the real cost to islanders who may want to escape the island to visit family in the summer. Finally, The Hut at Colwell Bay. There is no way you would be welcome to turn up for just coffee during the day. They take bookings only and the average cost for a meal is literally in the hundreds. They must have liked the Go-Pro or you are friends with the owner. The Hut is universally disliked locally owing to them creating what was a family friendly beach area into a drunken, high end boaty concern. Check out the drunk "mariner" who's boat is still marooned at Totland...
My dad lives on the Isle of Wight, he moved there about 4-5 years ago! Since going there as a child, it brings fond memories and now these memories can be continued!! Highly, highly recommended visiting!! So many more things and attractions to see, including Black Gang Chine, the donkey sanctuary, Amazon World Zoo!! Loved the video👌
I last went 32yrs ago with my then girl friend ( now my wife) 2nd week i. June. We got the chair down to the beach and walked up. Sat o. The beachwith a bottle of plonk and wat he'd the sunset.we came back with verry small bay tree, cost £2.50,still growing In. Our back garden and also a couple of glass ornaments which we filled with different coloured sand. Still have them with a lot of wonderful memories.
stunning place! if i didnt feel claustrophobic by the idea of being on an island, feeling trapped, id definitely visit. for now, I'll just live vicariously through your videos.
I lived in Freshwater for two years after University, and even though I've been back on the 'mainland' for 11 years, i really do miss living there. I'd walk frequently from my front door to both Colwell and Freshwater Bay, and I started learning to drive on the Military road that traverses the incredible cliffs on the south coast. That being said, it is an expensive place to live, and their is quite the disparity across the Island from a financial perspective that still exists. The Yarmouth to Lymington Ferry is also practically the most expensive in the world per mile, which is absolutely insane for a 30 minute crossing. Great video, really enjoyed it.
As a Kid I used to love the Brading Wax Works (now sadly closed) and Blackgang Chine, which is slowly being eroded. The only thing I don’t like about the Island is the cost to get there. Over £100 return for a car on peak days
First visited at 3yrs old with parents...hotel food was great. I loved visiting the coloured sand DIY bottle! Donkey's years later we took a cheap 3 night trip including car ferry & breakfast & evening meal...I realised it was the very same hotel on arrival & a few doors away from the room when I was 3yrs old!! The room was not much different, very dated but we had a great time & the food was good. Also went to the Garlic Festival really worth a visit. Good food, music etc a good day out😊
I stayed at haven hall and it’s the most beautiful place Iv stayed in! Stayed in the Victoria and Albert room. Owners are amazing, and the views and the grounds are stunning!
Me and my best mate used to go here every year to stay with my nan, when I was a kid. She'd buy me a bus pass which meant you could get on any bus AND the steam railway too! Best summers ever!
I've been there before and didn't stay there. Think I just spent the day there. I made a jar filled with coloured sand I can't remember where at though but some were on the Isle of Wight. I also had some very nice ice-cream too. It has some very nice views too. The model village reminds me of one in Yarmouth.
Great video Tim. Haven't been there for a few years but it's still as beautiful as ever. Thanks for bringing back some fond memories for me and lots of others that watch. 👌👍

You can't beat the scenery of England, Scotland or Wales when the sun is out. Green, lush, and magical. Wonderful country ✨🙌🌷💞
Wow, I've never seen any of this. Absolutely GORGEOUS!
Wow!! What a beautiful and historic place. Thanks for taking us with you ❤
What a joyful escape your video is!
Especially as you have to walk past the Captain's Cabin, a really nice, normally priced beach cafe with great views to get to the Hut.
Seeing the Victoria and Albert history was really nice.
All i knew about the isle of wight was the music festival.... Now i know more. Thank you.
Yarmouth and Cowes are worth a visit ✨🌷🪻
i was there last week when the weather was really beautiful
I already watched this video and I was SHOCKED!
Just teasing 😉
😂😂😂
Y’all are getting really annoying with this tired joke. 🙄🥱
@@AngelLuluBlu I got the notification for your comment and when I read it I was SHOCKED!
A vary good video of Should YOU Visit The Isle of Wight? - Things To See & Visit Island Tour👌👌👌👌
This is a trip down memory lane for me. I visited the Isle of Wight years ago. I went on the chair lift. Thanks for the memories.
stunning place! if i didnt feel claustrophobic by the idea of being on an island, feeling trapped, id definitely visit. for now, I'll just live vicariously through your videos.
??? Claustrophobic ??? It’s England’s largest island !!!
Spent many childhood summers on the Isle of Wight, lots of memories in this video! It really is a magical little island 🥰
Went to iow in the 90's with my mum. Have very fond memories. The model village at Godshill is fantastic. Great value too. Thanks for a great video.
Took two of my clients here on holiday…happy memories 😎 thanks Tim
This is one of my fav videos so far, what a beautiful place!!
This video was so well done, I hope there will be more! Well enjoyed!
thank you
I lived in Freshwater for two years after University, and even though I've been back on the 'mainland' for 11 years, i really do miss living there.
Over £100 return for a car on peak days
shanklin chine at night is very beautiful
Went to IOW every year for holiday, Ventnor. Went back later had changed but still a lovely place to visit and holiday.
What a great place for families. Blessings from Southern California
You’re such a likeable guy Tim! Thank you for your videos. 😊
I appreciate that!
I would love to visit this location. Gorgeous
