In inFAMOUS 2, they use the graphic novel style cutscenes with Cole's narration a lot less than in the first game. Because the cutscene presentation is so much better in 2, they used normal cutscenes a lot more, and I think it ultimately led to better storytelling. As they say: "Show, don't tell."

Honestly Jirard, I appreciate how genuine and fun loving your videos has been from the get-go, and I also appreciate how honest your reviews are too. This game is quite important to me, and I'm not at all bummed at the criticism at the story, I can even agree on that much. If it's somehow possible, I'd love to see you cover the rest of the games, including 2 of course, even the Festival of Blood expansion game, along with Second Son and First Light to see how they compare. I also wanted to point out, even though I haven't read any myself, there is a comic book adaptation of inFAMOUS 1 handled by DC Comics of Batman fame, so it could be that better rendition of the story we both crave.
Why do people talk to UA-camrs like they're personal friends? This guy has millions of comments, I doubt he even knows you exist, let alone make a whole video just for you. Fucking delusional people.
Even the extra shards you don't need in inFamous 1 are good to get since you get a power bonus in the sequel for getting them all. I like that sorta stuff, instead of sequels stripping you of power after you played through the first game to earn them you actually get something back for going that extra mile.
I just fully completed and platinumed this game myself late last year, for the first time. The worst part of it was easily finding all the blast shards because I did it without using any guides or walkthroughs, because naturally you do collect them as you progress in the game, so checking each and every one off of a list felt like waaaay too much work. So I spent almost seven hours total just looking for the small handful of remaining shards after I had finished both playthroughs and literally everything else. With that said, I've actually never had a problem with how the story is presented in this first game, but I feel like it's a good point, saying that it could have been told better. I love this game and I'm glad that I've completed it too.
Oh my god, I’m so glad this was done. I never had any idea it was one of the first 120. As for InFamous 2….yeah, not only were the things you had problems with in the first handled extremely well in the second, but they also ramped the stuff you loved _way_ up. One of the best games I’ve ever played. And no matter what anyone says, it’s _wayyyyyy_ better than Second Son. What I’m basically saying is, PLEASE do 2 soon!!!!
I thought Second Son was good. Compared to Infamous 2, I would say it's a step back. It's unfortunate Sucker Punch didn't make another game in the series. Hopefully Sony makes a remaster for the games in the future.

played second son when it came out, was and still is my favorite game ever, finally decided to play infamous 1 today 7 years later lol. What a coincidence, will have to watch the video after my first playthrough :)
Second Son is a great start to the series, as I personally think it is the weakest entry, including both standalone dlc carnival of blood and first light.
I thin infamous 2 is the best game in the series. The first infamous is just really old at this point, but it’s still pretty fun. Second son was good, but kinda short and the powers were kinda similar. I think infamous 2 was since it was longer and had a lot of cool powers. And the vampire DLC
Great episode as always, Jirard. I admit, Infamous is one of the games I always wanted to play, but never had the opportunity to. Never had the console for it, so it came and went without me ever indulging in it. Still looks pretty fun, even if it's a tad dated by this point. Looking forward to the next episode, take care of yourself.

I must not remember but I never remember this game being compared to prototype. This is one of the few games that I would love to see a remaster or just come across it somewhere to replay it. This brings back memories. Thanks for reviewing
Not sure it aged that well. But came out at time when I wasn't playing anything else on my ps3, it pulled me in, and I had a blast. Fond memories, but no desire to replay
I will say, there was a big part of my childhood where I played these games. They were always fun to play regardless of what side I chose and I would always just reset the game and play the other just to get more gameplay
When I finished this game, I enjoyed the story so much, it was presented in such an awesome way that it is one of those few game stories I still remember. I think during your review you should say "personally it didnt work for me" instead of "the story is shown in the wrong way" thats just not true, even if you sneak in the fact that "you are going to present evidence for all of your points" I just wanted to know how crazy it was to complete this game
A word of warning to our friend the completionist. When you get to Infamous 2, there are a few things to look out for, like the online missions, which has three trophies, and they are a pain to work with. Another thing is the dead drops in the second game, getting them isn't to bad, it's finding them that the problem, because they move around, and you have to get them, because of a trophy. Those are the big things to watch out for, well, for me they were, and I can't remember anything else right now. Anyway, love your videos, and wish I could do what you do, and I hope you get to the second game soon, and since the endings aren't the same, for good and bad in infamous 2, then let's hope you like that a bit better.
After all these years since playing the original Infamous, I only need to unlock two more Trophies for the Platinum: beating the game on the hardest difficulty and...*sigh* finding the last two power cores and I have no idea where they are or if I missed them during a mission sequence to where I can't go back and get them. Infuriating! One of these days when I have an entire day to do absolutely nothing, I should boot up my old Infamous save and just methodically comb through the entire open world map to see if by sheer f'ing luck I can find the final two and then go get my ass whooped facing the final boss in hard mode since I haven't played the game in years! But, it would be so much fun to revisit one of my favorite PS3 series.
Glad he got to do infamous one again now I can't wait for him to fully play infamous 2, they fix a lot of stuff in the sequel and make it a lot more fun
The thing about the blast shards and how tedious they are to collect is that there’s so many of them and they show you where they are on the map. So when you are hunting for them you end up looking at the mini map more than actually looking at the game. If they are gonna show you where they are anyway what’s the point of going after them. They should have made an alternate way to increase your battery. That is actually fun. Otherwise you are just going to spots on the map. Then to the next one.
Infamous was my favorite game growing up, without a doubt. Getting to explore the city and blast enemies with my superpowers was amazing. But after recently playing it again, I can see some of the flaws I overlooked as a kid. It still had a huge nostalgia kick for me, like someone going back and playing Mario 64. But that style of game with a superpowered person in an open world still to this day remains my favorite. And in my opinion, Suckerpunch studios get better with every game they make and are not afraid to challenge themselves when they need it. Infamous 2 adds more without going insane, and Infamous Second Son opens up the world to deeper lore with new and interesting characters (and powers). But I think their latest project, Ghosts of Tsushima, is by far their best narrative. I love the way that Sucker Punch builds you up from a no-one to probably one of the most important people in the country. This game franchise was a bit turning point for my gaming life and it has made Sucker Punch by far my favorite game studio. I hope one day they decide to return to the world of Infamous and shake things up yet again.
I fell 100% head over heels in love with this series. And the dlcs were good too. Wish SP would bring Cole back for one last hoorah!! The PS5 could really do him justice and make it gorgeous. How many of y'all feel me?
Just got into this game again on the ps3 I just got for my birthday. My infamous experience is mostly from second son, but some of it came from this game when I had ps now. Great game series
_I've never played this Infamous game,_ _& only played Second Son last year, which I 100%'ed 'cause I liked it so much_ 😊 *I hope there's a new Infamous game in the future!* 🤞🏻
I LOVE the InFamous series! I would love for another sequel, or just a remake of the original two games. One thing I've been torn about for years now is Cole's voice. Idk which one I prefer more
I wish that the radar pulse for finding shards highlighted them better, making them stand out. I have less than like 10 to find for the trophy and trying to find them is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
I only played second son and first light in the infamous series and thoroughly enjoyed my first playthrough of second son while not really enjoying first light at first. When I decided to complete first light many years later i finally understood and enjoyed it kind of. The outdoors sections were uninspired retreads of second son. The abitlity to play as delsin was cute, but it was clear that the game was made for Abi. Thus that is where I actually found my enjoyment in the game. Through just going for highscores and trying to string together as many combos as possible there was this fun arcady feel to it you won't experience if you just beat it. While second son to me is the way better overall package First Light is just way more replayable going for highscores. That is all of my experience with the infamous series, but I definitely wanna check out the originals at some point.
Since I wanted both of my files to have every single upgrade, and since the last evil choice stops you from being good again, I was getting all the good guy upgrades on my evil playthrough and just making the trophy related evil choices. This culminated eventually in me reaching the prison break mission with almost no useable upgrades on hard mode. That was my only deathcycle in this game I think it might have taken me 6 hours to finally beat it
Hadn't heard much about Prototype. For me it was always Infamous when it was out and it felt like more of a moral play. I even often quote Harvey Dent from Dark Knight when I think of Cole : "you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain."
I’m 23, infamous was one of the first games I wanted to complete twice in two different ways (even though I enjoyed hours spent going from evil to good in my first playthrough) and I’m glad I’m joined heavily by “infamous/prototype comparers”
My favorite series of the PS3 era. This game deserves a remake or a sequel... And if a sequel I would want Cole to come back because if the blast that supposedly killed him and all Conduits in the second game actually didn't in the third game then you could easily say that it didn't kill him either.
InFamous made me realize the power of electricity and how much its underrated compared to fire
Same, it made me became a convert to preferring Lightning as a power. I’ll forever Ride the Lightning thanks to this game, and the Metallica album.
Well, smoke is even more
Now it’s the other way around
inFAMOUS has such a profound impact on my life that the comic I’ve been writing for sometime stars a character with his powers.

The Infamous PS3 games really deserve to get a PS5 Remaster of the collection.

The Prestige is a far superior film to The Illusionist.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but yours is the right one.
I love these games with all my heart and I so badly want another!
Glad he got to do infamous one again now I can't wait for him to fully play infamous 2, they fix a lot of stuff in the sequel and make it a lot more fun
Honestly I’ve never heard much about infamous but I’m interested in learning some more about it
man i love some of this editing in this episode
Bruh the infamous series is one of my favorite games series like ever
Prototype felt and played like The Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction
I just finished replaying the whole Infamous series! Man, I really wish they would make more...
This game is my childhood and I think got me started on my superhero addiction
This was a couple of dope throwbacks. One awesome ps3 launch title and one shaved head boi
I can't wait for the Infamous 2 review, that series deserves alot more attention and love
I remember both games and liked infamous more
That series needs more love
Just watching this completionist is making me want to play it again. I wish there were a remaster or remake in the cards for it
_I've never played this Infamous game,_
_& only played Second Son last year, which I 100%'ed 'cause I liked it so much_ 😊
*I hope there's a new Infamous game in the future!* 🤞🏻
I LOVE the InFamous series! I would love for another sequel, or just a remake of the original two games.
One thing I've been torn about for years now is Cole's voice. Idk which one I prefer more
Prototype is more in line with Hulk ultimate destruction than spiderman
God I want Infamous 1 and 2 to get remastered at 60 fps.
I wish that the radar pulse for finding shards highlighted them better, making them stand out. I have less than like 10 to find for the trophy and trying to find them is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Trish: Cole fix this
Cole: alright
*after fixing*
Trish: Cole what is your motive here? The damage is done
WHAT
I only played second son and first light in the infamous series and thoroughly enjoyed my first playthrough of second son while not really enjoying first light at first.
It's been many years since I played this amazing game. Infamous will always be part of my childhood next to Sly Cooper.
That was my only deathcycle in this game I think it might have taken me 6 hours to finally beat it
I didn’t get to play this when it first came out, so I’m glad that I can play it now via PS Plus
My first ps3 Video-game. I got my ps3 very late. I only played Infamous 2.
The soundtrack from Amon Tobin (splinter cell chaos theory) is fantastic
Hadn't heard much about Prototype. For me it was always Infamous when it was out and it felt like more of a moral play. I even often quote Harvey Dent from Dark Knight when I think of Cole : "you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain."
I’m 23, infamous was one of the first games I wanted to complete twice in two different ways (even though I enjoyed hours spent going from evil to good in my first playthrough) and I’m glad I’m joined heavily by “infamous/prototype comparers”
Infamous is one of those few games that has stuck with me. It was a great deal of fun to play.
I replayed this one recently, I still love these games. Glad Jirard got to playing the first one
I just beat infamous for the first time last month. i never thought I would hear about this game again
I fondly remember this game when I got a PS3 late into its life cycle. It was fun, but I definitely only did the good moral route.
I would kill for an inFamous/2 remaster/rerelease for PC. These games were AMAZING.
Prototype is defiantly alot better thematically.
My favorite series of the PS3 era. This game deserves a remake or a sequel... And if a sequel I would want Cole to come back because if the blast that supposedly killed him and all Conduits in the second game actually didn't in the third game then you could easily say that it didn't kill him either.
Just in the nick of time. I had to come back to this game in 2018-2019, it was too damn fun.
I GOT EVERY TROPHY IN THE INFAMOUS SERIES!!!!! Love this video!!!!
God you mentioning prototype makes me want to play it again, I love that game so much
