📚 Description: I've talked about the Japanese brokers on eBay quite often and while most people are annoyed by them - they do serve a vital purpose in helping me find rare guitars! Sometimes they will advertise a listing of a guitar that I had no idea about that was available in Japan. I've always liked the Modern Flying V... it was the doofiest 2018 Gibson and now that it is getting older and they can't be bought in stores anymore - I sense a price hike in their future values.
While hunting on eBay today, I also realized that eBay has officially declared war on Reverb by announcing that they are keeping their 3.5% fee for listings in the Electric Guitars Category - just be sure not to list them as vintage! eBay is trying to step their game up, but ultimately, Reverb has built a better, more friendly site than eBay. If you're not listing in bulk, eBay might actually be your best option right now.

Frankly, they're both abusing sellers. eBay used to be inexpensive to sell gear on, but they they raised their rates so high. Two years ago, I sold a Gibson EDS-1275 and after shipping and insurance, eBay made more on the transaction than I did.
@@paulrogers6037 that's really bad.
Ebay, since I was banned from Reverb for filing an insurance claim after a guitar I sold got lost in transit. So much for the Reverb shipping protection...
@@TheActualAus10 I sold an expensive camera on eBay years ago. The buyer reversed the charges a few days after I shipped it and eBay made me eat the $2,300 I paid for the camera. Even with a dozen feedbacks on the buyer, eBay told me "too bad."
@@paulrogers6037 I think scammers will always scam no matter the platform. It just sucked in my case because Reverb was the culprit since I paid extra for their shipping protection, and instead of paying up they just banned me. Come to find out they don’t even back it up through the shipping carrier which I find insane. UPS would have reimbursed them entirely since the claim was approved on their end. More information than you needed I’m sure, but I’m still salty.
Reverb have hidden fee’s when buying between currencies. They add a ridiculous exchange rate. Google says £300 is 330€, reverb says its 380€.
When I asked them about it they said it was an estimate however when purchasing the item you get charged their "estimate".
It’s a real shame!
Solene Isconbi very shady!
Seriously? That should be illegal if it isn't already.
Paypal does this too.
You should do a music man stingray 6 string guitar
I agree completely, trogly should bring some more music mans to the channel
For sure. He should do an original 70's stingray guitar then a modern one.
@@whatyoumakeofit6635 yeah that would be cool
Man Reverb are cheeky mofos but hey ho still a great site as you said
@another pizza very true
Karl Golden and the 10% final sale fee
@another pizza What does this mean? Do you mean the fees? You actually just go into the sale and request a cancellation after the sale went bad and they will refund you the fees as long as you do it within a month or so.
It's terrible for equipment that's not instruments, pedals don't actually cost 20$ to ship. Every pedal on guitarcenters website has free shipping as long as they're the one who sells it
imo Etsy has damn near ruined Reverb. Took them no time at all to completely flip flop the interface of the website when the website interface was just fine the way it was, and hike the fee's to 5% to match Etsy's fee's, which is fine on Etsy, alot of the items on there aren't very expensive so the seller really isn't paying too much to sell. But on Reverb 90% of the gear sold is over $1K so if you're selling a big ticket item or even something relatively expensive you get fucked over. I don't blame Reverb for selling out, Etsy paid them alot for the company, but Etsy should have kept Reverb seperate instead of turning it into " Etsy for music gear " basically.
It's on the original site owner in my opinion. A lot of people develop a site like reverb and gain market share knowing full well they can sell to someone else (who projects revenue based on a different fee schedule and changed options). The seller knows it, gets paid without being the one "responsible" and the change is inevitable.
That said, I sold and bought about 100 things on reverb and have pretty much stopped. The same with etsy - a couple of years ago before they changed that site and said they were moving to positive earnings (which means more fees and buy ups for people using it), I stopped selling there. And bought stock, instead. Their stock has gone from $41 when I bought it to $153. Some companies are far better to own the stock of than they are to do business with. Wish I'd have bought more, but fairly sure even with the amount I bought, the gains have paid for all of the fees I ever paid on both platforms.
Matt will keep that guitar as close to original as he can. He doesn’t ‘mod’ as much as he restores tone and maintains the look of vintage guitars. He’ll do it justice.
Never been one to waste time but I'm going on 30yrs of guitar obsession for lack of a better word and I'm a huge fan of film. Been watching your show for years now and I know what you expect in quality along with even the most tasteful of us viewers. I'm a fast-paced learner, can adapt to the situation as needed quick and reliably, and with a professional touch maintaining the utmost consistency to match the highest level of respect for the quality expected. If I'm capable of doing it then it's already done, if I can't then it's already known before any further headache. To be perfectly clear and upfront, I could really use the job right now and I hope you will consider me. I'm respectful, friendly, honest, and straight forward. I'm absolutely never one drag my feet and I know exactly who is in charge. Thank you for your time Trogly and to everyone have a great day.
Reverb customer service sucks, you can’t even call and talk to someone in person.i will never sell any thing again on reverb.
Yup, and I've heard that they've off-shored the Customer Service to Sri Lanka and you only get a "Live Chat", no in-person help from Chicago?
@@captainamerica9353 That's cause it's not really Reverbs customer service anymore, it's whoever Etsy uses. They've completely ruined Reverb in the 8 months or so that they've owned the company. Took them no time at all to completely flip flop the interface of the website when the website interface was just fine the way it was, and hike the fee's to 5% to match Etsy's fee's, which is fine on Etsy, alot of the items on there aren't very expensive so the seller really isn't paying too much to sell. I don't blame Reverb for selling out, Etsy paid them alot for the company, but Etsy should have kept Reverb seperate instead of turning it into " Etsy for music gear " basically.
I had a really positive customer service experience with them recently. A buyer was claiming he never got my guitar and kept asking for the shipping info -- even though I provided the shipping number multiple times and had a delivery receipt from FedEx.
I just a had a really good experience with their customer service. The seller who I bought an amp from wouldn't accept my return and they stepped in and tried to contact him. When he didn't respond, they refunded me $52. That's $200 less than what I paid, but I should be able to resell it without a problem since there's nothing wrong with it. I felt that it was just misrepresented in the listing.
@@_dmfd you're only talking about 1.5% more in fees than before lol that's only a $30 difference between selling an item for $2000 then and now
My last 3 guitar sales were dual listed on eBay and Reverb, same prices and shipping on both. All 3 got more views, watches, and ultimately sold on Reverb.
Reverb also has much easier payout and fwiw the payment fee is 2.5% vs PayPal 2.7%
I think people are less sketched out by Reverb aswell.
DJ, maybe so, but between the 5%, lack of customer service, and no Reverb Bucks, it ain't looking so great anymore.
I had the opposite, 3x the views on my ebay listings and eventually had someone reach out for a trade there.
PayPal is 2.9%
@@AdultsAreTalking , eBay , PayPal and Reverb are nothing less than organized crime, but we support it!
Ebay is way better and safer for the buyer. Returns are fast and and they always favor the buyer. When there is a dispute, you get easy access to customer support and the process is fast.
"I just hope he doesn't do any CRAZY modifications to it." - No worries on that. Matthew is all about worthwhile restorations, not stupid hackery. The Firebird he rescued is just OMG beautiful.
Mathew Scott is great guy I follow him too. He keeps the guitars in original condition he takes good care of what he buys
Yep. That kid plays his ass off, too
Trogly kinda threw a little shade at him tbh. Not a good look trying to push around smaller channels.
@@dougrobinson1171 yeah not a good look.
Korina, Korina? Bob Wills would approve, Trogly.
Ever heard the version by Chet Atkins and friends from the late 80s? Ray Stevens gets wild at the end lol
Bob Dylan would surely approve
The recent Star Trek animated series had one of the characters playing a Flying V (loudly enough to shake the whole ship)... they should have made it the “Modern” V since it looks like their combadges.
You’re the only person who watched it.
100% my first reaction when I saw the Modern V.
Dear Lord, the tuning machines on that Robot LP are hideous.
They should call it the Star Trek V. It looks like the insignia shape on the uniform.
Brian Phelps Starfleet issue guitar.
I would buy it just for this. I love Star Trek...
But Star Trek V was crap... 🙄
@@schmoemi3386 yeah... because Nimoy got to direct 2 movies, Shatner HAD to have a shot behind the camera... it does have some funny dialogue between Bones and Spock though, “I liked him better before he died.”
Matthew Scott, puts his guitars back to stock, you should check out some of his stuff.
@ 1:12 here in Australia with all the extra fees and customs taxes Ebay is way better
Much more transparent as to what it will actually cost you to import (GST included ect)
For all of their lawsuits, Gibson sure didn't have a problem ripping off the Jackson Roswell Rhoads, did they.
eBay truly truly sucks to sell on-as a seller with 2200+ perfect feedback I can tell you no doubt they do less than zero to protect sellers from buyers who think every listing is a Guitar Center or Amazon where you can buy something, beat it up, return it and get a full refund without even contacting the seller first. I've been a member there since 1999 but I've had to severely limit my risk especially since COVID where people have more time to drink and hit the BIN than ever before...
I had a friend who had that problem. He recorded every nook and cranny of his guitar to make sure that everything was intact and mint as well as showing the date he shipped it out and lo and behold the buyer actually tried to pull a return because he claimed it was damaged 3 days after it arrived to him and lost his dispute because of the recording done.
@@isaacjinn4721 It's gotten really bad. I'm fighting a $2600 return now from a guy with 6 feedback who hadn't bought anything in five years. He said my new 2018 ES-275 was "defective" after taking it to his "luthier" and filed a claim. I accepted the return with the stipulation he give me a quote from his "luthier" so I could get Gibson R&R to fix it for me...(I worked for Gibson ER for 11 years and still do occasional consulting work for them). He dodged the subject until I got the guitar back with filed frets with file marks on the neck binding, a bridge pickup with chewed up pole screws and the truss rod so cranked it was stress cracking at the binding. Not only did eBay never ask for my side of the story when I tried to file an appeal after they ruled in his favor; when they said they would call me back in 24 hours, 48 hours later I had no phone call, but they did send me an email saying they refunded refund the a-hole $2660 on my account. It's a lost cause...
captmark09 that rightfully sucks. Ebay should get better customer service to settle these disputes because its sadly the norm right now.
@@isaacjinn4721 yeah, there are certainly a-hole sellers out there by the bunches, but they are dwarfed by the thousands of worthless "buyers" who suffer no consequences at all by hitting a Buy It Now from individuals like me or Mom and Pop stores trying to survive online through cutbacks and COVID. It's hard not to believe it was their plan all along to get something special for no other reason than their showcase gig or recording session, not giving a flying f the harm they are doing. We're not Amazon or even Guitar Center. In fact-Years ago I used to be a department manager at a GC in Los Angeles. EVERY Thursday like clockwork we would sell the TOTL Yamaha Motif keyboard, JBL PA /studio monitors or QSC power amps to a roving group of people who would use them for their block party/mixing session/whatever then return them-ALWAYS without the manuals, or special plugs or all the packaging... I know it's the price of doing business to account for the dick factor, but it surely sours one's faith in humanity
I follow that guy who bought the Goodwill Paul - he is a good dude and a great guitarist with a lot of "player grade" vintage gear. He has had a couple restored (a Firebird springs to mind). Not seen him flip anything or do crazy mods.
Modern V is a sweet ass guitar. Good buy!
Thanks for taking us guitar hunting, enjoyed as always.
I have seen higher prices on reverb than ebay recently and some stores I frequent have let their inventory drop a lot on reverb but their ebay store is still well stocked
Reverb prices are absolutely ridiculous!
Mathew Scott is an amazing player and has a great UA-cam channel. He has restored a few vintage guitars. I'm sure he will do something cool with that gibson.
I use my local Craigslist, thankfully it’s loaded with gear that works out to be about half of what I’d pay on eBay or Reverb, every time I check those sites I just can’t believe the prices people ask.
From what I have learned, a good majority of the Japanese sellers are individuals selling on behalf of a local store. They charge a percentage for their part of the transaction, and yes, usually have much higher than market prices. But sometimes they do have some rare pieces.
No, they are "drop shipping." I live in Japan, and a lot of the stores they "sell" from say on their sites that they NEVER sell on Ebay, Reverb, etc. Just people being jerks.
Wait there’s a Coheed signed guitar and it’s not an Explorer? Come on...
I knew it! I had a feeling it was the same guitar, as soon as his video popped up and I saw the thumbnail. Now I'll have to follow up to see what he does with it.
Trogly's in the HOUSE!!!
Scott dose very sympathetic restorations, check out his recent firebird
The last time I sold a guitar was on Reverb. It got sold and the buyer paid but then Reverb wouldn't pay me the money. I had to ship it and the buyer received the guitar yet I still hadn't been paid from reverb. I'm out a guitar and no money for It. But finally after a couple more weeks the money finally showed up. I won't be selling through them anymore. It wasn't the first guitar I sold on there.
Reverb needs to change the way a search displays what we wanna see. You type in something and most of screen is immediately ads and bullshit.....then we scroll and get like 15results before having to hit next page. It's like a plastic swamp to wade through when searching for a long time
Reverb totally took care of me as a buyer with a damaged guitar case (guitar was fine). They immediately comp’d me $200+tax so I could buy a new case.
Got to say that I LOVE my Dark Fire, I have had it since launch, yip broke immediately however Tronical sent my a new brain for free and the best was that it was Dusk Tiger insides. Never missed a beat since. I never use all the sounds however I use the tuning all the time, I used it hard for gigging so it stood up to it very well, very sweet sounding guitar and sounds way better than my LP deluxe, no idea way but it just feels right.
eBay is 10% overall for overall selling fees (including the shipping fee) in the UK. Ontop of that PayPal charges anywhere from 3%-50% depending on the amount of transaction.
Ebay also didn't pull out of an animal shelter benefit for no other reason than the fact that Glenn Fricker was participating. Reverb did.
Regarding that Good Will Gibson, Matt is known for his love for the story of the instrument ... I'm pretty sure he won't wreck this one ;-)
I do NOT like Reverb. The prices are sky-high; very hard to find anything approaching a bargain. Seems like everyone there wants top dollar, and then adds another 20%. Yes, Ebay has its flaws, but with auctions you can still find bargains. Just last month I picked up four great pedals under $40. You have to be patient and monitor the last hour of the auction--and you may not win--but I have basically built my guitar, pedal, and amp collection on Ebay. I have also sold an equal amount of gear on Ebay with no complaints. I have purchased ONE guitar on Reverb, and the seller ripped me off (guitar was damaged as-is but not described that way) and he did not want to take the guitar back. I am sticking with Ebay, flaws and all.
Yeah I feel that people list their gear on reverb even though they do not really plan to sell it. They put their listing 50% above the price it should be and must think that if a "stupid rich collector" wants it, they'll let it go for that big benefit.
texanfournow , truth. One good thing about eBay are the No Reserve Auctions. It pays to bid, even a low amount, as you never know how high it'll go and you can get notified of price drops.
@@captainamerica9353 Right on. Example: I collect Peavey USA guitars. Most of them I have picked up for less than $200 on Ebay. One Peavey USA guitar on bucket list for years was a Peavey Destiny Custom. But they usually run $800-$1000, more than I can afford. But one week I saw a Destiny Custom listed for $400. I thought I had no chance, but I bid anyway. I was the only bidder, so I got it! (I know, not a "no reserve" auction, but you get the idea). It is the most beautiful guitar in my collection, and the most I have paid for a used guitar--but worth it!
I have also scored well on no reserve auctions. Picked up a few vintage tube amps for less than $100, same with some pedals. Couple of weeks ago I picked up a DigiTech Hyper Phase for $25 and their Chorus Factory for $29. That would never happen on Reverb. I always start with a ceiling in mind--sort of a budget--and stick to it. It requires both discipline and tenacity, but it pays off.
Of course, rich folks can buy whatever they want, but that's their good fortune. Me, I gotta do it on the cheap!
@texanfournow
My first reverb buy was a vintage pedal listed as all original and when I got it it didn’t work, had wires detached and tons and tons of shoddy repair work. I got a refund. How’s that for a first time reverb experience, eh?
FCK reverb!
@@texanfournow i have scored great vintage pieces for almost nothing and every time the seller never sent it....
I purchased one guitar from Ebay and one from Reverb. I get my guitars from GC or pawn shops. I got '93 US G&L ASAT for $399 from GC, and a Fender 2007 '52 Tele for $499 from a pawn shop. Both were seller mistakes.
Seems like reverb needs to get it together with the times...
Hey trogly have you seen the Matt Heafy epiphone LP? I don't even know Matt H. is, but the black and white models are beautiful...love to one of them on here!
I’ve been following trivium (matt’s band, just in case you didn’t know) for close to 11 years now, and i’ve had both the snowfall and gloss black in 6 and 7. I can speak from experience and say if you want a very, *very* good mid price 6 or 7, matt’s is the ay to go. However, one of the few drawbacks is it weighs ~10-11 lbs. other than that, they’re amazing pieces of art and worth the price.
I'm a Troglodyte!
the dude who bought the goodwill lp knows his shit he deals in vintage guitars gibsons and fenders and has featured some real cool examples on hiscchannel he had a player grade nonreverse firebird refin in pelham blue that was awsome an sg junior too check him out
I live in Japan and it is awash in vintage guitars! Best to come visit, find a great deal and carry it home! I saw a yamaha sg2000 1980 for $600!!!
i've never made a sale on my reverb shop, but i sell stuff on ebay constantly - honestly i dont think im gonna pursue reverb much more, its just not worth it.. also i've had previous experience with etsy people... and thats why i dont trifle with etsy anymore.
You know a seller is amazing when Trogly says they're stupid but he loves them
Matthew Scott has an awesome channel! You should check it out, Trogs! His series on the Mary Kaye Strat he found is particularly interesting and informative
Why would the jump it up? They do things like take away fees, for example no fees on brand new shoes $100 or more. They did that to compete with stockx.
I think all you folks who sell online are the bravest of the brave. Too many people out there would buy a guitar, bang it up, have buyers remorse, and go for a refund. I couldn't afford one return during this ''vid'' crisis. I hope all of you do well.
7:58 onwards: A couple of "Custom Shop elbow-cut" Explorers like Eric Clapton's butchered one back in the day - and they're asking $6,600 / $7,600 for them!! :-O
I've bought a couple of guitars off ebay. They were all fine.
I bought a few from music stores, and one from a private seller.
Not high end. But really good guitars.
Honestly, Reverb feels like it has more awareness about musicians where I think most people know someone who has had a bad experience or possibly have had a bad experience of their own. To me it feels like I'm walking into scammer central.
You don't need to rush the trade Tuesday episode, we can wait for it
So I have a dilemma: I've been intending to sell 5 MIM Fender guitars that I have for the longest time. I had always planned to sell them on Reverb. I've sold about 14 guitars in the past 8 years on eBay, so I have a history of positive ratings for selling guitars on eBay. My plan was to open a Reverb selling account and link to my eBay ratings (I have a Reverb buying account, and have a lot of positive ratings). But now I'm considering just sticking with eBay because of the smaller seller fee. So should I stick with eBay or start out with Reverb? I'm not a frequent seller. I haven't sold a guitar since 2017.
eBay can get more traffic, probably plenty of interest there.
I wouldnt bother with Reverb from scratch just for a few MIM Fenders.
eBay is charging you more if you are in Managed Payments (all sellers will be eventually). They charge the 3.5% fee + payment fee on the tax the buyer pays also - money which the seller never collects! So if the buyer pays a few hundred in tax on an expensive guitar, the seller pays extra fees on that tax!
You could literally buy a guitar on ebay, play it for a month, destroy it, and still be able to return it. At the very least you will get your money back. Great customer protection, not so good for the seller lol.
I have a few guitars I might sell, I've sold a few on Ebay but never on reverb. Now I'm afraid of selling on Ebay because some people take advantage of the Ebay protection system. Not that I intend to be a bad seller, but, Ebay has broken it off in a lot of honest vendors. I'm torn between the decision to be honest.
@@jacobray8685 I honestly haven't tried them yet, heard some good and bad. People do have luck though on Reverb more than ebay.
That is a horror story! You know everyone's pain thats been through it 100%
Michael Slaughter, I am thinking about selling a squier double fat telecaster deluxe. Those were produced in the cort facility in Korea from 01-03. Mine was bought for a backup for my player grade. The one I'm selling is probably the last one in unused condition anywhere with hang tags and plastic still on the pickups. I was hoping to find someone who can really appreciate the guitar. I'm afraid any possible buyer locally will be a hard sell. Not that it's an expensive guitar, but it's got something special about it. Its just a shame for a good guitar to sit unused. Any advice would be appreciated.
I only buy from eBay sellers with 100% positive feedback and those who are very close to 100% with neutral ratings after I’ve checked them out.
Never had a problem on eBay, or Etsy, but my first buy on reverb was a fucking nightmare of shoddy repair work on a faulty “original” vintage pedal sold as “all original”. It was a piece of trash that should have had the whole PCB replaced a decade or more ago. I got a refund. The seller even expected me to fix it, not knowing if I was capable or not. What a jerkoff!
I do not know how reverb handles disputes between buyers to sellers. But ebay favors the buyer in a transaction. A user could purchase your product, claim the item was not what was listed and get a full refund and send back just about anything guitar shaped. As a seller you are left with giving the user a 1 star and losing money on the deal.
Yes, you're absolutely right about eBay, it's just music equipment rentals at that point 😂
Brunswick is such a nice color. I think Guitar Center has Les Paul Custom Standards with P90s, in both Brunswick Blue and Red, really beautiful.
Reverb is good if you're NOT wanting to do an "Auction". Non-Shop Guitar Owners want to sell quick and go buy something else. Hence comes the 7-10 Day Auction with a Low or No Reserve, with a possible Buy It Now. That's just me. 🤘
Are you ever going to do a follow-up on the slash snakepit guitar?
Careful with 70% fret remaining. Im certain i bought my Edwards LPC from them and its basically due for a refret
Just bought a guitar on eBay, fingers crossed...
How’d it go?
@@ajaycuadrado8081 Came with a broken string, but otherwise fine!
At eBay I never can seem to find something selling for next to nothing at the end of its time to bid. I feel set up to never get a good deal and being pushed to buy things at a higher price. I mean we all know eBay makes more on products the higher the product sell for.
When you factor in PayPal fees Ebay is actually still more expensive at 6%. Reverb has no additional fees now -- just straight 5% -- and Ebay still has a 2.5% PayPal fee...
Reverb also has a 2.5% Payment Processing fee - so it's 7.5 % total fees.
I'm more concerned that someone can engage in fraud with Ebay. They typically try to default to the buyer. I have sold 8-10 guitars on Ebay over the years with no issues but I trust Reverb to really help if there is any isues.
I’ve been following you for a while and love your show. I have a really good friend of mine who I think would be great for your video editing, she has been doing that for Berklee College of Music for quite some time. Her name is Sara, and I directed her to your website. Keep up the great work!
Hey, I think it would be interesting if you did a review on Nuno Bettencourt's Nele, it has some very cool features
Matt's a phenomenal player & a really sweet guy. Dude can really play.
I can edit and I've been playing guitar for 5 years and watching your channel for at least 2.5 years!
Ebay selling fees are very, very misleading. In total theres a 5% fee for ebay and paypal, but they also charge you 10% of the final sale price a month later.
Trogs would you ever consider picking up the Dave Grohl DG 335 for a demo? I'd love to see it in action and up close!
I use eBay often but have always felt that they charge too much of a percentage to use their service. Reverb was a hero and then they sold out to Etsy and Etsy raised their percentage. I know you covered all of this.. but good for eBay. I hope Etsy is now feeling some form of regret and it’s shown in their comparable profit margins.
Hi Trogly how are you doing tonight?
I find that a lot of sellers are listing their used guitars on both platforms.
Wow, not often...er, ever actually...that you mention 3 guitars I actually own! A 1980 Les Paul Firebrand(the Paul), a '97 Blueshawk in beautiful Chicago Blue with Varitone and Maestro trem and a couple of weeks ago I finally managed to get a 2012 Nighthawk in Pelham blue I think it is...does Pelham blue have a subtle sparkle? Anyway...shop on!
I’ve sold and bought about four basses on eBay. Never had a problem.
Reverb began it's downward journey the moment it was taken over by etsy, and they are all about profit - things will only get harder for sellers.
You don't have to use alarms with Ebay...Use Auction Stealer and snipe the auction... it's the only way to use Ebay....setting alarms is really useless.
I really love that anime tele. And I have no connection or attachment to the cartoon. I am a country guy, I play a 90s Memphis 335. And I normally like traditional Teles with possibly a Nashville pickup addition, butThere’s something Bill and Ted about that guitar I just really love those pick ups and the colors too but I wish you could just buy those pick ups and put them in any tally I know you said they were thin and all that but it just looks so Flippin cool.
been subbed to Matthew Scott for a while! He'll take good care of it!
Therr is currently a 1959 black beauty on reverb . Seller asking just over 80k. I made an offer of &500. 🤞🏻 lol
Reverb has better music focused search functions. That's the only difference other that seller fees imho.
Just listen to Glenn. He is totally right about this whole reverb fee situation.
Yeah, screw ebay. I had been on it for 15 years and bought and sold about 50k worth of gear with stellar feedback, but about 4 years ago it all started going downhill. I started getting burned by scammy buyers and the clueless customer service wouldn't do anything. Enough is enough. If Reverb goes down, I'll just switch to something else.
I honestly wouldnt trust that I was buying "Authentic" from eBay
I’ve never been able to sell a guitar through reverb. I sell better on eBay and buy on reverb. I have a pair of BB1/BB2 that just won’t sell on reverb and I’ll be listing them on eBay here. Don’t know why I didn’t before!
Awesome another vide
Trogly.... I'm 38 (in the UK), I've been playing guitar for about 25 years, I'm not Quite as well informed as you, but I've learnt a fair bit over the years. Lockdown has left me with a lot of free time, I would be more than happy help to work for you for free, for at least a trial period, I would happily do things (edit) your way and use the same editing software you use. If you are interested please reply or get in touch and we can discuss further.
Have you ever considered hooking up with Reverend Guitars? They are right up the road from you in Toledo. I didn’t pay them any attention until I played one in a store and now
I’m hooked. The tonal possibilities are off the charts. Check out a Double Agent if you get a chance.
You should keep the modern v if you get it! You’ve talked about keeping some guitars and you like the goofy looking ones especially
The shipping politics of eBay has already made eBay the winner anyways.
It's hard to beat such an international collaboration with all major transportation companies.
Only someone like many of you subscribers and myself who've watched every single video you've done, most multiple times Could appreciate your video style that you've developed with your videos over the years enough to be the editor of your vids. Not only would a shit editor be bad for the channel but a editor that put too much of his own style in your vids would suck just as much. They would have to understand that they would be carrying a brand (you) and how to stay true but improve, in the way of the creators vision. 😉
Why haven't you done any of the Classic Vibe Squiers? I see you've done a lot of Epiphones, and I've never connected with an Epiphone like I've connected with my Classic Vibes.
oooh yeh baby!
"epiphone, it's clear ebay doesn't know me that well" last review was a epiphone..
nope, last review was USA Fender - ua-cam.com/video/KTRqCndx3HQ/v-deo.html
I am so glad I did not send the link to the goodwill les paul video.
Reverb is a dreadful site for users in Europe. You can't order results on price + shipping, only price. Several times I've bought and paid for items only for sellers to ask for more money as shipping was only valid for Italy or Spain and not uk. Prices are also higher. Ebay also regularly have max selling fee £1 weekends, so I'll be sticking with ebay for now.
eBay wants perfect credit . Reverb credit was accessible
Which is the better Website to sell Analog Guitar Pedals? EBay or Reverb.
I looked and e-bay had nothing but monoprice and some others...
