      @ft1339 Yes. One thing almost every sprinter will admit they really detest....is running into the wind. That resistance is really felt & makes you expend even more energy when you're already maxed out. Really impressive running...definitely high 48's in calm conditions

      @drfunkfunk2637 Рік тому +4

      @ft1339 You are correct. The Commentator said all of that & he was pretty much spot on. I think the comment about Britton was probably his thinking that Adeleke is bigger & stronger, therefore able to power through the wind easier. Bigger usually means more resistance, so not sure I personally subscribe to that theory. Britton ran 49.64. Another great time to me under those conditions. I haven't seen Britton's other videos...but I will go find them & get back...

    Congrats to Rhasidat, what a talent! Credit to Britton for attempting a historic challenge, only issue was running the prelims harder/faster than was clearly necessary; she ran 49.36 in the 400m semi (slowest qualifier was 51.20); and then 54.67 in the 400mH semi (slowest qualifier was 56.02). She could literally have run both races over a second slower & still qualified for both Finals conserving a ton of energy in the process! Better round/race management is a lesson I hope she takes away from this experience i.e. if she only focuses on the flat 400m @USAs, she shouldn't be trying to run all 3 rounds in low 49s or quicker! We could very well see Paulino, Syd, Britton, Rhasidat and possibly Naser all run sub 49s over the next few weeks!
    Talitha Diggs is another fantastic talent who I hope gives up running rounds of both the 200/400m at big meets like this and sticks to just the 400m like Rhasidat smartly did!

She's 20, she said herself she has only trained for the 400m for 9 months and she doesn't even know how to run it properly yet!. 49.20 and she barely knows how to run it - that's insane. I'm not convinced that BW has as much untapped potential - she's much more experienced and has a lot more 400m training under her belt. If Brittan Wilson we're able to have focused on One race or the other, she wins whichever race she decides. She was all about attempting this type of double because it had not been done before and also scoring points for her team. The team concept Hurts the individual athlete because, they get burned out after such a long season. Britain is probably an elite 400-meter Runner which is obvious to us all but, she has been running the 300 and 400 m hurdles since the ninth grade here in Virginia where she competed at Mills Godwin High School. I think that if she focuses on the flat 400, she could go low 48 to sub 48.

      @@barrypower6822 yo mate! I would like to see how she would have fared after running 400 intermediate hurdle races over the course of those days before the flat 400 final. She's very talented and I look forward to seeing her run for Ireland but I want to see her fresh in the flat 400 and Wilson fresh in the flat 400. You do know that Wilson has the Collegiate record at 49.13 and the young lady ran 49.20. Britton Wilson will run low 48 to sub 48 when she has a chance to focus just on the flat 400. But the Irish young lady will probably be able to manage that herself at some point in the future but I just think Britton Wilson is ready to do it right now because she ran mid 49 indoor when she didn't have an opportunity to have her Focus taken away by the hurdles. How did the Irish young lady perform when they were both running the indoor 400 flat during the NCAA indoor finals?
