She looks like she is jogging because of her body frame 5ft 10in 124lbs. and long legs. I've seen high school boys same frame taller 6ft 0in 144lbs with real long strides when they ran and people would love to watch watch them run.
@Dakari Hill Yes but the shorter sprinters like Felix, Nasser, Jackson, Okolo etc..... don't have that same look as Mu although they say Felix has a long stride. The long legs differentiates the two types.

Kyra Constantine had a good run. We’re the same age so I used to see her at meets all the time back in high school in Ontario. That girl used to dominate, and she’s set multiple records for different events. Used to remember her sweeping the 1,2,400m every meet. Obviously the girl was going places. I’ve seen her in person countless times too. One of my teammates who raced her said she was sweet at and humble before races lol. It’s kinda cool to know someone and then see them reach such high levels. You go Kyra!
I enjoy seeing Mu’s races. She is so graceful and makes it look so easy. She seems so positive and professional. I can’t wait to see her winning in the Olympics.
This Athing Mu woman will definitely go places. I like her style of running. She's a medal prospect in the Olympics and future Wanda diamond league races for USA.
she's the best, soo exciting to watch because she competes against herself and is only getting better. Super excited to see her run at trials and then the Olympics 🙌🏾
And she made the Olympic team. Blowing grown women out of the water - WE LOVE TO SEE IT!!! This girl is special and I can't wait to watch her career unfold!
This is insane. To put things into perspective, she'd have won gold in the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London with this time. The winner of that Olympic race (Phylis Francis) run a PERSONAL BEST of 49.92! Which is obviously slower than this time (49.57). BTW that championship had elites like: Alyson Felix, Miller-Uibo, Shericka Jackson, Naser etc
She is not going to compete in the 400m as she knows she has to get her speed up to deal with the professionals. However, her speed is just fine for the 800m.
"whatever is gonna happen, is gonna happen and whatever is meant to be, is meant to be." incredible - this young woman is wise beyond her years for sure
Disappointed that the commentator actually said, "she speaks well." Are we still doing this people? You never hear people say this about people who are not Black. Athing Mu is outstanding - PERIODT!!
If she can stay focused and injury free at her current age and then the progression rate there's going to be something very special. Maybe the female Alberto Juantorena?
Athing Mu is not ready for Shaunae Miller-Uibo in the 400m. She knows in order to compete with the professionals in the 400m she will have to get her speed up. Right now she is relying on her tremendous endurance and stamina to get her around the track.
She is fantastic. It's a foregone conclusion whenever she races her peers. I can't wait to see her race the big girls and improve. I would love to see her tackle the 200m. That would be a greater and exciting challenge.
The comment about her speaking well had nothing to do with her race for all of you in the comments. The commentator was referencing her age (she is young) and well spoken/mature in her responses/interviews.
Yeah, but that is often said about Black women who don't use AAVE, which athing doesn't, so in that context it seems a little off. We don't know the commentators true intent, so we can't say "it had nothing to do with race" because only the commentator knows that, but combined with the historic context of the phrase that comment sounds iffy and probably shouldn't have been said. as a Black person who doesn't use Have I am weary of that phrase
If she wants to improve her start, the first place to look is the angle of her block. He front foot basically automatically stands her up. Lovely runner when she is up and going
She should really try and double in the 400 & 800m for the olympics. Why not? She should try now while she is young because its hard to double up races as you get older. Shes amazing. The future right there.
