I just bought my first Farmall, it’s an A. It will be here Tuesday, I’m going use your the oil you suggested. Thanks for the tip.
Nice 👊
Boom! We are all in! Those holes! Yikes! Good tip on the oil. BOOM!
Rob
Awesome advice on the the oil and those wood chucks are cute
Great advice with the oil, there you go.
Great one as usual sledgehammered that like button stay safe awesome and shared this out
I like to hear them dig. It sounds good.
Those upright distributors are aftermarket. The horizontal distributors are the originals or magnetos. Your H probably had a magneto originally. It sure runs good.
Yeah Delco distributors
good video man good job thanks for your military service Sir
I like how you alternate the use of your tractors FF. It tells me that you use them all. I personally like the M best of all your machines. Love the looks of it, the sounds of it, I think it is the coolest of all. The last one you most recently bought is pretty nice too.
That M was the first one I bought
@@FarmallFanatic hope you don’t sell the M!
Low Ash, thats the good stuff👍
Low ash is a damn good idea! My overhauls that I used I went to full synthetic on 2 Super M’s and. Super A Ford brought out a gasser for us to use with full synthetic oil for a year! After one year using it there was no engine wear in any of em! Used it ever since! Drydene oil company in Detroit furnished the oil and also tested! It caught people’s attention Mobil 1 was it on the general market at the time, but Drydene made a few years before they did!
I do rebuilds, I go full synthetic...I did a break-in on the combine and then went synthetic
@@FarmallFanatic yeah it’s good stuff
We run that in a 756 gas,and lasted a lot of hours used little to no oil.Found a nice 766 Diesel and it replaced the 756.Last I knew the 756 was still running good and was used daily to feed cattle.
766D was a very nice upgrade 👌
Yep, always with the low ash or you're going to fry up those valves! All my red gas tractors get CaseIH Low Ash 30w except the 806. That gets Rotella T4 15-40. Same deal, low ash.
dad bought Schaeffer low ash in 20w20 and 30w HD in bulk 35 gal drums
we changed oil every month when we began working the fields until we put them to bed in the fall. we changed oil after the harvest and fall plowing was finished we never left old oil in over the winter. we got about 3500 hours between minor overhauls normally rings bearings and a valve grind.
Nice 👊
had an ol Ford ,tractors run forever
I like the new intro showing your "fleet"
I was gonna give you crap about the low ash oil, but you qualified it with "run low ash until you rebuild." It's nice having a rebuilt engine that you know the history on, then you can dump synthetic in it whenever you feel like it.
Exactly
I run the Shell Rotella 15 W 40 in my international 140.
My dad and I used exclusively 15W40 in those old tractors for 45 years and no problems. And we use it as soon as we get the tractor. We've owned probably 300 of those old tractors over the years. Most got resold. But some have been here for decades and have had several oil changes. We never ever had valve trouble whatsoever.
I will be waiting to see ya at the show this weekend my friend
Where is it again?
@@FarmallFanatic If you go & feel up to it, go live. Don't recall seeing anyone live at a tractor show before. Be a nice change up from auction specials.
My H is here at least until I die too. Probably longer since it's my son's favorite to play with when he's home from the army. 🖒
awesome.
I always run low ash in our farmalls! I think our H is getting a bit tired though, it’s been on the farm since new in 1947 and the motor has never been touched, runs a little blue lol
Grandpa bought a new farmall h after he returned from the war. He told my dad he can trade off any tractor except the farmall h. The h is still on on farm. Grandpa died in 1996.
I agree 👍
Trying to get a video of my dads F-20, before he passes. Last I heard it was having a carb rebuild. Thanks for sharing the info about the oil and such!
F20 is a really cool tractor
👍👍
Your CaseIH dealer sells Low Ash by the 5-gallon bucket; much cheaper than smaller containers. That said, my engine builders (a couple Farmall experts in their 80s) swear by Rotella, especially on a fresh engine. They have told me to use up what I have until oil change time, then switch. I still have 2 hours left on my H break-in and Rotella & filter on the shelf.
I run Rotella in everything else
@@FarmallFanatic I was reluctant to rebuild my engine, but I was literally spending just as much in Low Ash 30W as I was in gas, and gas isn't cheap. I was astonished at the sleeves; they were completely shot. No wonder I burned so much oil, about a quart every 4 hours.
Farmall H?
@@FarmallFanatic yes, my Dad's H that I bought from Mom after he passed. It burned oil like crazy the winter of '19 pushing snow, then I had it rebuilt last fall.
@@jeffanderlik7695 what it run u?
Straight 30 mineral oil I use in my 1958 McCormick international 🤔👍
Suggestion on your water issue in the oil. I've never seen the temperature gauge move on that H in any of your videos. Does it work or do you not have a thermostat in the tractor? Reason I ask is you want some heat in the tractor to help burn off condensation and moisture that gets in the motor.
When you shut em down particularly on these cooler nights you get condensation that builds up inside and that's often what your seeing. Heat helps to burn it off.
It's being investigated 🔎
What’s up buddy 🍿
Wide front end was a after market thing. Plus the older tractors ran 10w40 motor oil
Untrue
Good old Lowash we also put a can of good old can of STP also
Yea good stuff
BOOOOM !
People will fuss about the dent in hood but don’t have a problem cutting metal out... jeeez SMH...like the way you did it cause at least the metal is still there...keep crushin it hoss...
Boom 💥
@@FarmallFanatic maybe put some gorilla tape on the inside
Actually yes
Just work it hard in the field, that moisture will disappear. If it don't, check the crank case vent. They are designed for hard work. It will always collect moisture of you don't get them hot. It's condensation from the timing cover.
I have a question to ask you or any of watchers what's the difference between a farmall A and a farmall A cultivision I have the opportunity to get the A cultivision with duals thank you
Have you ever heard of adding a quart of ATF to every 5 gallons of gasoline to add led into the gas or lubrication if you’re running ethanol gas
Way your selling that low ash you need an affiliate link 👍🍻
Do some owners add positive crankcase ventilation to evacuate fumes in crankcase?
Some might
Never heard the psi per hp. We were always told 10 psi per 1000 rpm.
..a woodchuck would chuck all the wood a woodchuck could chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
💪❤
Is low ash non detergent ... and are you thinking number 10 in winter ?
It's non detergent and no I just run straight 30 weight. If I do an overhaul on an engine that's when I change my oil over to a different type
Hello
It looks empty? Old farmall use OIL. JUST KEEP FEEDING IT OIL. ENJOY YOU POST
That is most likely condensation from the weather changing.
Williamsgrove the 23 25 huge consignment auction...look on Facebook Williamsgrove historical steam engine association..see ya there buddy..
There is a big disconnect in most IH guys Low ash 30w is HD30w.... the real argument comes when you speak of air filters require Non detergent 30 as it does not contain Detergents that keep dirt and water in suspension in the oil..
If the engine has never been rebuilt you use low ash
I've learned with my Farmall tractors that if moisture is getting into the engine oil, the engine isn't getting to operating temperature. The gauge should almost always be pointed between the cold and run on the gauge. You need a new thermostat (and don't buy the made in China thermostat).I found out the hard way.
Before I even finished reading your comment, I wondered what somebody put in this tractor for a thermostat.. at least temperature wise
True turbo. Its condensation. It will bake out it you keep the heat up.
You are correct, those tractors like to be worked to stay healthy. The big sixes especially or they become oil burners before their time.
Was the turbo a temporary thing? If not, is it worth the money?
@@jeffanderlik7695 I still have the turbo on the H and I love it, so fun to drive. I just don't over work it. The money wasn't the worst thing. Getting lucky and knowing people that have a dyno, and know how to set it up was a blessing. I've read reviews form people that had a nightmare trying to set them up right.
Anyone else hear that H slightly nocking?
I didn't hmm
Looks like Pensoil
Yea all waxy
Why is the h so special to you?
It can do a lot of work for its size
A woodchuck?! Get the gauge!!!
. 17 lol
Stop plowing in 3rd gear, plus give the tractor more gas. You're killing the hydraulic system
Killing the hydraulic system?
So since you won't sell me the H, are you leaving it to me in your will???? LOL
Who said I'm dying first? 🤣
@@FarmallFanatic LOL I guess that's true- maybe I will go first!
He’s leaving each of us a Farmall in his will! Lol
Hahaha maybe I'll have a few thousand by then
