DLH performance sells a budget saf with everything you need except for the 1/4 -20 tap... RDM sells the CNC plate a few places... I haven't used it as of yet but I got some 5/16" woven brake lining to try just haven't gotten around to cutting the pieces
I know this video is 2 yrs old now. I'm about to finally build this saf clutch. My 1st disc is a Zeda cnc plate. Going to press out the pins today. Buy a 1/4/20 threaded rod, 5/16 threaded rod, lock nuts and will have at it. Oh, a 3" metal hole saw bit
Glad to hear that would had help me wanted to do that since I was 15 Just did not knew what size Springs to get or really how to set it up so never attempted
on your minarelli build who makes that head? and can you direct me to there website , i would really appreciate it , thanks......very nice bike you have there!
I forgot lost the link. But search 14mm OD 20mm Long Medium Load might want one color stronger I got mine I could press it sort of with 2 fingers so maybe one size stronger/color same size
I tried the flower nut/washer/washer combo ,tightened everything up.Tried pushing on clutch "arm" to test springs,it wont budge. What am I doing wrong???thanks
Hell yeah bro me n my friend were just talking about that recently thinking about doing the same thing n keep up the good work bro you have some great ideas like the brake lever that you also did I thought was really cool that you made your own Definitely keep on going bro
Whereabouts are you located bro I just mean what state not your address I wouldn’t put mine on here either just kind of wondering how close we live from each other because next summer I want to plan a ride out with a bunch of people and you’re one of the ones I would really like to go ride with I think it would be a blast bro and you seem to be pretty cool dude I think you would get along with my friends great
Very interesting Idea you got me thinking! You know if you where to have a 1/4 thick plate on top and tap it! so the bucking bar could screw into it directly. This would work pretty well I think! I'm going to cut a top plate see how it works out on one! otherwise can't drop it enough to grab the pads right as the one you have sitting there in front of ya? Very interesting idea. tomarrow when I get some free time I'm make one of these good idea to use Printing press Springs! Red are 150ft-lb Yellow/100 Blue200 /green 250 / Brown 200
I was thinking to use blue or green ones but also you throw them to have more compression but yes a better plate or clutch plate will baby works better and grab I'm surprised you haven't seen these already but yes take your attempt on it would definitely like to see a video and what you accomplished and see if they work good by chance do any of your Motors clutch slip maybe your conversion minarelli?little? To see the outcome if it prevents it or if it feels like when you drop the clutch it doesn't slide or slip I'm using RDM plate on my Chrome and red bike not the three spring idea but it works pretty good it stopped me from slipping and it grabs immediately after a few adjustments but also keep in mind you could also put 6 Springs not just three I just wanted to see a three spring in action and then possibly go with 6 Springs there's people out there that are using six Springs and saying that they work pretty good every compression all the way around
But if you make a quarter inch clutch plate you'll have to make it out of stainless steel or a hard metal I think aluminum will get eaten up too much maybe add some neural not sure how to pronounce it but pretty much add those little bumpy grips like pegs have I'm pretty sure eat up pads faster but I'm pretty sure will grip better or something I'm sure you have great ideas
@@mozezcen-valley7555 I actually never had a clutch slip on my first minarelli either does the guy I gave it to still! I used a 600ftlb spring in it. But this other one I never even started yet. Just gutted it and will see what happens lol!
Have you used them yet? When I’ve made these I’ve had to bush out the clutch basket to allow the plate to hit the pads. A friend told me thicker pads are gonna hell me but I’ve glazed even new stock pads. I think a thicker clutch plates like the S.A.F or even Ryan’s plate solve that problem. Thinking about making my own clutch plates at this point
Be cool see something new was thinking about making plates harden stain less steel cost to much then need to mill out and also make . A little design to separate yourself from the other people
Honestly Keegan I never used it .. I just made a video how to make one because I've been seeing them around and look pretty easy nobody ever gave me instructions and years ago I asked somebody didn't want to share no information so I decide to make a video basically figure it out on my own how to make it but I never put it to the test...
Thanks lol 😆😂 tryd if I had a computer could have done a lot better editing and sound effects I'm currently doing everything through my phone thanks for watching great comment appreciate it
The 65 will hit better than the 85, I'd like to see the clutch in action. I run Ryan's which I've had no problems, my pipe is currently restricting my speed and it's a Yasuni. Unfortunately Steve doesn't know anything about pipe geometry and made my header too long and killed the rest of the power.
Hey I was thinking of upgrading all my build with the clutchs but what's the Deal with em .do they catch quicker so we dnt have to peddle from take off or something??
I've just realized that this one, exactly this one, is my clutch. Will assemble it when better. Thank you again.
Yes lol have seen on mozez cen-valley 😂😆
Didn’t work at first little modifications and it grips like no other clutch absolutely nuts very impressed

Can you by any chance send me the link for the springs? Or put them in the description. That would awesome! Thanks for the help my friend!👍
You’ve inspired me to try this, I’ll add it to my ever growing list of winter projects bahaha.
