1:55 I know everything about these motors I know the arrow I know which way the rings are supposed to be they are only supposed to face the opening of the Ring towards the the carburetor
If your motor truly seizes up and won't turn, You can always fill it up with Marvell and let it sit for a day or two. Then drain it and it should break loose easily. Also if you get all kinds of carbon build-up you can just clean the top of the piston with some Brake clean and it will free up fairly easily. I suggest a cheap Endoscope, Lets you take out the plug and look inside without taking everything apart. Nice video Tony, Keep up the great work.
@James Marvel Mystery Oil is a deep penetrating oil that will seep past anything and help to free it up. I've used it for over 30 years and it's always been the best preventative of lockups.
@James Just use however much you think you need, Not too much as you will half to drain it later. And yes just over the piston let it soak for a night or two, And then drain it. After just bump start it as you would normally, It should break free. If it doesn't work you may have more damage than Marvel can fix. Hope it works for you. I used Marvel when building my engine so it was freshly coated and around 1000 miles later still smooth. Good luck.
Glad to see some more videos brother! Most of the time the reason the chrome cylinders seize is because of the carb being jetted to lean. Or dirt getting sucked through the air filter and scoring the cylinder walls. Less common ways are the piston clips and ring snags.
Mine seized after the first ten minutes of running while at idle. I was able to break it loose by popping the clutch while riding it downhill. No problems after it started again. Still running fine.
Hey Tony I appreciate your advice and expertise on this my cylinder is gouged a little bit on one side and I am struggling to make ends meet right now the Piston is also stuck at the bottom of cylinder is there any way I can make it work for now until I get back on my feet and going
Several things that make it hard to answer here in the comments. But my thoughts are Idle, jets, proper break in, flooding, not totally sure without seeing a video of your setup.
Hi Tony. As per usual with your videos, a lot of good information. I appreciate it. Cleaning the crank case, I don't know, I could be off base here. You have that zinc coated steel pan with the bottom end scraping against that and the highly flammable spray, could the two dissimilar metals rubbing against each other, could one metal be attracting electrons from the other or in some other way cause static electricity to make a spark jump because you don't have a ground wire? You know what I'm asking because I'm not sure? Maybe rinse it on the cement or some absorb all or just on the dirt may be best. I'm just saying.
I hear you my man. And thank you for the insight. My answer would be...Sure, maybe, I dunno, I honestly wouldn’t worry about such things like that as the probability is very low to nonexistent. I mention in the video to get a cheap plastic container as that would work really well for most people.
I got a brand new bike berry motor that sees at the top TDC. With the head off and it shouldn’t do that. I was riding it to check the motor with head in but now plug and it threw me over the handlebars.locked up dead!
It was either this one or the last one that you opened it up with orange springtime everybody's calling me saying they're motor seized up hmm 🤔 didn't hear that until yeah everybody's motor seized up
I was riding and my bike just shut off. No weird noises or rattling just off and never fired again. I took off the cylinder and the bottom head gasket was blown. I replaced it and the bike still won't start, crank, burp, nothing. I'm stumped. It's getting fuel spark plug is good but when I pop the clutch the bike just slows down. So the motor doesn't seem seized either.. idk!
Bikeberry told me after my motor seized that they redesigned the cylinder and I bought one thinking that it was going to be better it was redesigned they gave me a piston with two rings it went is it was as powerful as maybe a 66 or 49cc they bullshitted me
Glad to see you back,
Thanks Logan!
Would like to see more about seized engines and repair different methods
1:55 I know everything about these motors I know the arrow I know which way the rings are supposed to be they are only supposed to face the opening of the Ring towards the the carburetor
4:57 Go by the ring location pins on the piston. The arrow on the top is not always correct. Ring location pins to the intake side
Yup, thanks for bringing this very important point up. It’s something we can’t say often enough. 💪

Good little video ❤

Mark from LA Hover said the same thing about the arrow on top of the piston needing to point toward the intake port
nice video, do you modify any of your motors? transfer
porting, piston ramping or skirt cutting?....
We’ll be getting into all that throughout the summer 😊

Air leaks are a big problem with new builders. running lean do to a air leak and not know can kill a motor
nice video . a lot of good information .
do you also sell the disc brake that this bike has on the back wheel?

2:29 on mine whenever I engage the clutch to speen both chains they both end up stopping and them locking up what's ur best advice for this
Hey Tony what would cause a motor to die after riding for a half a mile after pulling in the clutch and hard to start.
No gas
Yes it has gas in it.

I wish you sold mag wheels in not pairs just the rear mag and assembly
And every bit of my bike was brand new the tank no dirt got into the carburetor or intake
Have you ever saw something in the clutch cause one to lock up?

Factor ratio of oil and gas could cause piston issues
i would put a small brass screen inside the fuel line so NOTHING big enough to cause trouble in the engine goes into the carburetor
It was either this one or the last one that you opened it up with orange springtime everybody's calling me saying they're motor seized up hmm 🤔 didn't hear that until yeah everybody's motor seized up
my bike has 7 gears and wont pedal backwards is that mean something broken?
If the piston is seized if the bore how are you supposed to get the cylinder off the case? Kind of skipped that very important bit of information.

I've been working with these motors for the past 10 years I have never had one motor seized up
Why no CompressionIssue videos???? i cant find anyyyy
Bikeberry told me after my motor seized that they redesigned the cylinder and I bought one thinking that it was going to be better it was redesigned they gave me a piston with two rings it went is it was as powerful as maybe a 66 or 49cc they bullshitted me
Forgot to turn my gas on 😢please help it seized! Somone 😢
It won't crank
Like I said I'm pissed off as bikeberry I feel they owe me a new cylinder and piston
Sorry for my language
I can't get it to sping in the clutch assembly phase. Opened up the assembly a ton of metal shavings inside
