Wow! Incredible collection that is so difficult to finish. So impressive, first time I’ve ever seen this complete set all together. Thanks so much for sharing. Congratulations
Thank you so much!!! It was a definite journey! Very challenging and rewarding. I’d also recommend my friend Maxjacks channel, he also has completed the 520 card set. He and I were kinda in it tougher, made it super fun.
"Kinda cool" is a huge understatement. Awesome to see these all together. All things considered, you did this rather quickly. I saw the entire set in person once and that's what really got me to get back into collecting.
I appreciate the kind words! It was an extremely challenging project, almost like having a 2nd or 3rd job tracking particular cards down it seemed haha
Finding all these is not the challenge if you know where to look. But finding them all centered is as I'm discovering. You seem to have solved that as they all seem in great visual condition. (Even the lower grades) Amazing seeing all these together slabbed. Wow.
Congratulations started a year ago and everyone has been telling me bad idea. Especially living in Canada where it’s very difficult to find any. Really happy to see someone finish it especially in such a short amount of time.
Remarkable collecting achievement! Fun to see the complete less big 4 T206 together. The Demmitt and O’Hara STL are now making this very difficult to compete. Best.
I totally agree. They were still very expensive when I grabbed them back in 2020 (around $1600 and $2600 for my 1 and 1.5) but they have gone completely insane since then. I think a lot of people will stop at 518 now, unwilling or unable to stomach the $5k+ each for a ratty 1 for each example.
Nice collection, look great all together like this, congrats on the 520. I'm building a small specific set and need a big boy card to finish, maybe one of these days.
Good advice, start with the Hall of Famers. Never pass up the chance to get a big card. If you wait, they will only be more expensive later. And the commons will always be available when you get around to them. The biggest mistake I made was passing up an Eddie Plank PSA 3 for $12K in 2003. Today that card is $100,000+.
I've been doing it for a year and a half.....not even at 100 cards yet, but all mine are 5.5 and higher. This is an amazing set and I know how long it take. Congratulations 🎉😊
@@thaatguuy4554 I always love to hear another collector starting their journey into the Monster! 5.5’s are gorgeous cards, I’d love to see your progress!
Very, very impressive. About 15 years ago my buddy was stationed in Germany. His girlfriend dragged him to a estate sale. His knees buckled as looking through the box of old tobacco cards he came across the Wagner. I know a SGC 2 last year sold for 7,7 million, and his grade is a PSA 3. He has no desire to sell it right away. What are the odds of finding a Wagner, say anything about finding one on another continent?
I decided to put together a team set of these. I'm just picking up the Boston N.L. players (Doves/Rustlers) + the two Atlanta Crackers. That felt like a "Braves" set to me. I guess I'm halfway at this point. I'm in the 2+ range. If it has nice registration, I tend to be very forgiving. It's been fun.
Before I committed to the full set, I built the Doves team set in SGC 5's (Minus Graham and Ritchey), just never found them haha. Theres countless ways to collect this set!
I’ll put it this way, it would take about $125-150k to build the set in this condition if you did it today, as a best guess. I started a lot earlier so my cost basis is much lower.
@@leftyndv10 Thanks to the person asking the question and thanks LEFTYNDV10 for the candor in responding. That's exactly what I wanted to know too. I'm sure it was fun collecting those awesome cards. Does anyone know who has the most cards in the set? From my understanding their is over 8,000 because of the varients. I assume 1k would be impressive but who knows
Many have tried, and many have failed, to put together the complete master set of all variants. David Hall probably got the furthest, the former owner of PSA.
@ I know a guy that has almost a complete set with all back variations. He has been working on the set for nearly 70 years. He is down to about 16 cards. All 16 are ultra expensive.
@@kevindelong7046 Hi, do you have any more information about this amazing collection? I'd love to see more info about someone so close to the full set!
