Electrify America can't keep their chargers up in ideal conditions. Tesla Superchargers still work fine in flood conditions.
Nobody wonders whether it’s dangerous for their homes to get electricity in a flood.
Do homes have massive lithium ion batteries underneath them?
@@safeandeffectivelolThey have something much more dangerous natural gas lines.
@@goldenshatter Water doesn't make natural gas lines blow up or catch on fire
@@safeandeffectivelol And those massive batteries are a sealed unit, the same way a home storage battery can function just fine when partially submerged.
bro these batteries are water tight dont wory
I didn’t understand a word that old man said.
I did he said “uhh bih danguris yeh” 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
a booha gooha booga goooba im old
A lot of second hand Tesla batteries and powertrains come from flooded cars that were declared totaled due to water damage, but the electrical components are well protected against water.
Water damaged lithium battery are dangerous even after they are dried. ua-cam.com/video/LwraIqtRFqM/v-deo.html
Because water and electricity are ok to mix together.
I dont see the issue. Electrical running up is waterproof. Charger isnt under water. Car is waterproof. As long as its not all under water, then ya'll fine.
Not good for the car. The battery won't be the issue. Although it seems the suspension is high enough that it doesn't enter the car in which case this is fine. But still if it continues to rain... their car will be flooded lol
electrical powertrain and battery are waterproof. The rest of the car, not so much. But, yeah, not dangerous per se, since the electrical components are waterproof.
the car is waterproof the doors too are sealed@@lachlanB323
"Highly dangerous"... Well, you'd think that, naturally, because of the general relationship between electricity and water. However, there isn't a risk of electrical shock as the charging cables do not have any electricity flowing through them until after the vehicle and charger communicate and determine that everything is ok. So you have one of two scenarios: you charge just fine, or it won't work.
This is perfectly safe. Stop being over dramatic.
worst part is how dirty the water is.
Takes a crazy guy to charge in a flooded lot... By the way you left your back door open.
A strange place to have put them, esp when the hotel nearby is in stilts due to flooding…….😂
Can't they build these on higher ground, or at least have some type of effective drainage? Just for convenience if nothing else.
Ignorance breeds fears. EVs are plugged into a charging point on rainy days and there’s no issue. The floods water in this video was not high enough to prevent the rear door to be opened. Who do you think video this clip? The person must be desperate enough to use these superchargers.
Why is this dangerous? You have no clue what you’re talking about!
half the comments here also say its dangerous, funnny how everyone becomes an expert at this lol
Who leaves the rear passenger door open while charging unattended, that is more baffling…
🤔
Plot twist: the owner of the car is the one who took the video 😂
There is little danger because of the electricity. Other parts of the car might be damaged by the flooding...
Most definitely not. They’re sealed with multiple layers.
no theyre not only waterproof but also bulletproof, nothing is gonna get in there
WOU
He sounds like Ozzy 😂 Sharon! Who charged the fuckin tesla
Not the sharpest tool in the shed
you?
