The biggest problem with electric cars driving through deep water quickly.... Is the number plates sometimes fall off.
It can do that on any car
@@emiliogamez4 I think you missed the point, not any car can drive through deep water without flooding the engine. So my original statement still stands, it's the biggest issue for electric cars.
Nissan leaf has a wade depth of 70cm. Do you know what it is for yours? Range rover Evoque is only 53cm.
@@Dr-EV Ig you could argue that
@Dr-EV
No that’s not the biggest problem.
You have to deal with battery malfunction afterwards (Battery Explosion).
@@klau88873 You probably find there isn't much news repetition about electric cars driving through water and getting damaged. Tesla's are known for being drivin in floods. Engines getting flooded is very common. Some needing replacing at the cost of battery pack. Like I said earlier the leaf battery is rated to 0.7m, what is you cars wade depth?

A sedate passage is wiser and more dignified.
You'd slam on a water wall and wreck your car.
Did you have any long term damage to the battery or electrical components? A lot of Tesla haters saying car will be destroyed after a crossing like that. As a Tesla fan, i'm interested to know the truth.
@@yeahbuddy92193911 it's been about a year and another 20,000miles since that video was recorded
no problems yet
since then the car has been through the annual government inspection and been serviced at a well respected independant garage that a lot of long term out-of-warranty Tesla drivers use
Best "TESLA Puddle"
compilation 👌 👍 ☺️
The water is making more noise than those teslas xD
I just don't understand why I didn't build a bridge there for cars too? Here, even in the last small village, anyone can lay a couple of concrete pipes and bury them. Maybe the local car mechanic is the mayor?
Probably gotta make money somehow
Super power crossing better than the gas/diesel engines.

You know nothing about cars, right?
Zero Tesla owners surprised by how well they do, whilst at the same time not surprised as non-Tesla owners say how they’ll flood the interior and battery. 😂
no only morons say that. everyone knows that its the wires and connectors that get corroded and cause issues.
Not battery, but for parts of the rest of the car, (like the interior, yes) it can indeed be damaging. Except the drivetrain its no different really to any other car out there.
actually no. most electric cars are watertight, even the cheaper ones, go search 'wuling ev' at floods

@@tonysales3687Why do you think that means anything?
Build quality is not software upgradable.
We have seen at the shop a passenger door barely closing a stuck frunk due to battery dying while it was opened and a woman locked inside the Model Y.
Water ingress possible through the battery air vents on top of the combined battery on tesla's. Maybe no short term issues with normal water but salted is a bit more of an issue long term.
👏👏👏👏👏👏 Good Job Tom .....HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY EVERYONE ✌️
Seeing as everything is sealed the only thing you would have to worry about is it being so deep that the Tesla starts to float and loses traction.
LOL not even
@@devansnider7793What?
Water could seep in the doors and damage the interior. Also, when I borrowed a Tesla, it didn't like fast charging if it had been slow charging in the rain - I think it was a problem with the specific car, but it may not want to fast charge after doing that until it's had a good chance to dry out.
@@rjmunro probably the battery being too cool - if you set your destination as the fast charger in the navigation system it will heat the battery and the problem should be solved :)
considering all teslas catching fires in american floods (but that was sea water, which probably is much mora damaging to electric components), i wouldn't exactly say everything is sealed up (it can't be). would be interesting to know, how many of them starting to have problems after driving in such conditions..
Thank you for the ecology compilation. Enjoyed it!

@@ivanfernyhough3851 Nope.
@not today There was a family in England who had one (not sure which model)
A tree fell into the road, before it possibly crushed the car, the car spotted it before the driver reacted to it. Yep, pretty safe definitely.
A Tesla which experiences water ingress into the battery compartment just cost a UK couple 20,000 pounds to repair.
And they only left it in heavy rain.
"And they only left it in heavy rain", or so they claim. But the area they were in had rampant floods at that time, so I don't really buy that. There's probably a very good reason why Tesla rejected the warranty claim.
Great video, my wife asked if we buy a tesla can we go to the walking tracks where we have to go through small streams to get there, this answered the question. Cheers
RIP license plates .. Amazed how bad they are attached.. 😂
Most cars with flat front panels have their license plates attached the same way per regulation. Any car would lose it.

While cool to look at, I still wished some of them slowed down as you can still get water into the AC intake at the top of your bonnet.

Good idea Tom and its always nice to feature Ben in his Trademark blue parka w/ faux fox hood collar!!! I hope the council gets voted OUT for closing Rufford Ford!!!!
Theses are the types that like to play Russian Roulette too!
If they can build a pedestrian bridge, why the hell can’t they just build a vehicle bridge alongside it, as well? Put an end to this ridiculous design flaw
Wow, what a great idea! now instead of the road being flooded the bridge will be! how did no one think about this before.
And not one drowned ignition system! 👍 😜

Cybertruck will be able to be used as a boat for short trips apparently. Amphibious. Very cool.
I’m sure the battery won’t explode.
@@klau88873? I'm guessing that's sarcastic. If so, explain batteries on submarines. Also, batteries burn pretty fierce, but they don't explode. Gas cars catch fire 10X more often than EVs and that statistic is just getting better and better as battery manufacturing is refined. So...? Lame comment.
@@truhartwood3170
When it catches fire, EV will burn it all up to a skeleton frame
@@Mark3nd luckily it happens extraordinarily rarely. Far, FAR less than gas cars. And if the CT is designed to be submerged, it won't be from that. So if you want a car that has the least possible chance of ever catching fire - get an EV, especially a CT.
@@truhartwood3170 Sure, lemme change the subject.
When EVs start making those sales, when they ban newer sales of ICE, you wont be able to find new ICE vehicles/Diesel. Hybrids will be around, however they will be banned to. They really want to have EVs by 2050, where they will control your vehicle. What next? AV, autonomous vehicles. They want to take away ownership of vehicles. Make them completely undrivable, and worst of all, be able to be attacked by a thief/group.
Attacked as in, they step in front kf the vehicle/put something infront of the vehicle. This renders it immobilized, they break in and start attacking you.
Why does the government want to take away ownership? Because not only it's a life saver, they also want to control YOU! You wont have a vehicle that'll run in ICE near a gas station, oh no, they're just going to make sure you don't have one, once they put a new ban: The ban of all ICE and Diesel from existence.
Even race vehicles, purposely made offroad Engine Apocalypse Baja1000/NORRA1000, Nascar, F1, GT, Le Mans.
Oh, remember what I said about ownership of vehicles? Yeah, not even these delivery people or transportation vehicles will be human controlled, just vehicles by themselves. Atleast that's their plans.
What I am really saying is, do you, want to be controlled by the government? To have your will/freedom controlled by someone who you never liked?
Better think about it carefully, I'll be waiting (if not short/longer).
Good they make it.
But im sure some of the deep diving will Result into corosion or wet carpet .
(Same for some ice cars)

Thank god the muffler didn't backfire and kill the engine. Thanks goodness the distributor cap stayed dry. I'm surprised there wasn't an oily sheen created in the car wake. Did the frunk get wet? Imagine how many would have to push the Tesla out if the deep puddle if it quits.
The British have money for Tesla and Range rovers but can’t afford a simple bridge to avoid the floods

Water always gets in , nothing will die for a while but you just wait until electrical corrosion sets in, it will cause havoc.
Yeah I would never take an electric car through deep water... your just asking for trouble.
I mean soaking in the water for hours , sure . But going through for a few seconds and letting it drain …
Google: Tesla burns underwater in submarine mode
The biggest problem with electric cars driving through deep water quickly... is that it could lead to your car being written off/destroyed by battery failure/thermal runaway.

For a petrol car going crossing the ford slowly is the best option but is crossing the ford fast so that the wave never comes back into the the engine bay a reasonable strategy?
Buy a boat! A car is something else.
🤗🤗🤗
This is a car 👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Per forza, pesa e inquina come un carro armato. Sempre se non vanno poi in corto le batterie e fa una bella fumata inestinguibile di tutti i colori e piena di ogni tipo di inquinante.
I wonder how many of these teslas are still driving with all that corrosion from the water, how many of them have burned down or needed a new battery pack?
So, the most popular colour for a Tesla is white. Today I learnt something 😉
A quick immersion and dry-out should be manageable for EVs, if they are designed for it, but we don't know what the long term damage is, and longer immersion videos show Teslas catching fire underwater.
Salt water... Thats the biggest problem. Rain water should be the smallest. But this dirty water cant be good at all.
All EV batterys are vented for letting in and out pressure. Meaning they are really not waterproof. They are water resistant against normal use.
T53LA D number plate is illegal, spacing not correct. £1000 fine. Law has always said this but fine is now increased from £100 so Police are enforcing it in some areas.
Best way to wash the battery.
I would expect spontaneous combustion to follow that. Maybe the following day.
That would be an unrealistic expectation.
WTF, TESLA wooooow
Meanwhile, a Scottish couple claims their battery failed driving their Tesla in the rain and their warranty claim was denied. I wouldn't count on the battery being that well sealed.
LoL, the guy that forded the river so easily, but lost his front license plate
Fun fact: I've driven my Tesla P90D cross the floor of the English channel to France and back on a day trip.
hum need to think about it :)
See pj has poked its nose in again .
So many Teslas.
strange how many car fall to bits when going through a puddle.
Some nice bow waves from those Tesla's. Are they smarter than the average driver ?
The cars themselves or the drivers of the cars? The cars are definitely getting there! Can't wait until my car is driving me around, while I recline and relax knowing it's way safer than any human could ever be.
They are going a bit more steadily than the average driver, but it's also really easy to control speed when going slowly so it's easy to set up a bow wave without stalling. The shape of the front of the car also helps, it leans forward a bit rather than sloping back.
No, they bought an EV 😂
the only problem is air cabin filters. those get wet and moldy
Are EVs generally better compared to gas engines in flooded area or is it just teslas?

@@klau88873 It’s a 2022 model not the first ones model S 2012 or chevy volt or Chinese ones. Tesla are made to work. The other brands make terrible electric cars so that people give up on them and continue spending on gasoline cars, with many parts that wear out and complex to replace and maintain. Combustion cars will be in museums. Imagine in 10 years what Tesla technology will look like. I hope that more brands run after and stop making fake cars. Batteries that last over a million miles and will get better every day. A big hug my friend and take a test drive.
@@eduardoholanda9356 teslas uses byd batteries though
There are two major advantages for electric cars in such situations. One is that they do not require air. In an internal combustion engine, when water enters, the incompressibility of water causes the connecting rods to bend, rendering the engine useless. Another advantage of electric cars is that they have much better traction in deep water because they don't float due to their higher average density in water. Due to their weight relative to size, they have better traction and are not as easily swept away by water, as often seen with internal combustion engines that are very light compared to their size.
that being said, I wonder just how deep will a tesla be able to take
I wanna look this car the week after😂
So that's 18 Tesla's that made it through water we dont even know if they made it all the way home? That's extremely poor numbers considering theres miIlions of them on the rd so for the millions out there who didnt make it if your device displays a water drop icon which signifies moisture detection, you should power off your device and leave it to dry completely. If the icon does not go away and you continue to experience issues with charging, try clearing your USB cache.

Water drag and resistance. Anything thats not well secured and or gets exposed to too much force gets ripped off. See some of the other Rufford Ford vids, they collected piles of car parts over time.

Better check the lower compartment of the Trunk. The Y & 3 have holes in the rear that will allow water into the lower trunk.
