I am an installer working with the Tacomas and install mufflers all the time you guys took the long route, the best way is to assembled the muffler outside then installed the way you took it out. Also it really helps to ramp the back tires.
URD Ypipe to replace the stock Ypipe. Also removes the rear catalytic converters which will not throw any codes as an o2 bung comes on the URD and the tears are not monitored anyways.
Nice! I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD off-road 4x4 with a Flowmaster dual exit cat back and I love it! Definitely adds some much needed beef to the overall experience and actually does improve my MPGs by about 2. Keep up the Tacoma vids man!
Know it's been a while since you commented but I just had a question. How's your Flowmaster doing? Does it drone or anything like that? Asking because I'm in the market for an exhaust. thanks.
@@roysoliz8762 yo! I actually took it off and put the factory exhaust back on. The drone was too annoying, especially on road trips and on any hilly roads.
Just leave it with the muffler dump under the cab. I know it's not freeing up massive hp, but stock it's 278, it has to be at 280 hp now. If you remove that restrictive middle bit, you can probably get 285.
Dusty Thibodaux 😂 yea, he reminds me of this guy back in college, in automotive class, he was doing his exhaust, and the honey comb from the catalyst converter was old and bad, and was breaking down. And his dumb ass didn’t wear safety glasses, and that shit went into his eyes, and he was dumb enough to rub his eyes, so the platinum and palladium cut his eyes, and dumbass went blind in the right eye.
Dusty Thibodaux, yea your right bro, not a car guy. Is he even going to do a “true lift” Or is he going to go with a leveling kit spacers and blocks? if he was a real car guy, he’d know that axle backs don’t ever get you that much power gain, unless the stock flow is really restrictive. he should’ve went with a down pipe, smog legal high flow cats, and a Full Catback. He should know, that it’ll still get restricted in those restrictive stock cats, and won’t open up till after it merges at the end of his (Y), B-pipe. His friend had to even tell him what he had to do next.
I have the same truck. we defenitly have different tastes when it comes to mods for this truck but I respect that. I added a fox level 2 Lift kit and 285/70/17 bf goodrich all terrain tires. TIP: if you get spc light racing upper control arms you can adjust the ball joint all the way forward meaning no rubbing on the cab mount. Don't pay extra money for total chaos or other expensive brands of upper control arms. They lack adjustability and are very pricey.
Bros FOURR Speed Headstrong offroad is great for looking at different kits and option within kits! HS 3 Leaf Add a leaf is what I have also and it's a little over a 2 inch lift in the back.
Head strong off-road is the way to go, however I enjoy the TC UCA due to the fact of not having to worry about another “ball joint”. I’ve seen a few that had boot tear from normal wear and tear so keep in mind.
Bot_Chu Toyota Enthusiast the TC UCA doesn't have as much adjustability for caster as the SPC light racing one. I understand they are more expensive but if they don't help my 33s not rub then what's the point in buying them. I have no rubbing issues with a 2.5 inch lift and 285/70/17s
Bro, pay no attention to the negative vibes. Truck looks great. I have a 07 tacoma my buddy and I did a 6 inch rough country lift in my car port. I also added a grille and custom headlights. Cold air intake, dual cat back magnoflow exhaust, with down turn downs at the rear axle. Only problem, what to do next? You will have that problem too. Sky's the limit. Great content, keep pushing higher
Hey there. I installed the same exhaust system as yours. I noticed mine was leaking from the first clamp. Is yours okay? I'm not sure if I just maybe didn't tighten it hard enough.
AFE is sketchy, i have their Cold Air Intake system with the front ram air scoop, the problem is that i now have to much air going across the MAS that when i pull the stick shift out of gear at high speeds ( exiting the highway) it will cause the truck to stall out
Great video guys, y'all are nearing 1000 total videos uploaded! Looks like that rear hanger could use some work, you might be able to bend the metal hanger on the exhaust to relax the rubber hangar connecting it to the car, otherwise I wonder if it will start to rot and tear from being contorted. You could also find an aftermarket rubber hanger that fits better. This makes me excited to receive my exhaust for the Z. Fast Intentions says they should be shipping it out here in a couple weeks!
Sweet video and install, I was considering doing a exhaust upgrade like this for my 18’ OR but then I decided to wait for Magnuson to finish their supercharger for the the Taco and if it is anything like the 4Runner, that means no exhaust, manifolds or air intakes mods that will void their warranty. But looks sweet and sounds awesome.
What is the difference between those? I never had any problems with this system as far as rust or anything if there's a difference between those numbers.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed HA Amazing! thanks bro. I live in Miami Beach and we have a lot of exotic cars, my bud owns an exotic company if you ever want to review any of his cars here. Have a great day and thanks for your info! are you on tacomaworld?
that sucks about the tip being designed like that i had a slip on exhaust for my 04 636 that was like that it was literally the same diameter as the header pipe i was sliding it onto you can go to advanced auto parts and rent an exhaust expander tool its designed specifically for this and they work pretty good
It shouldn't, an exhaust doesn't do anything for it to void. Plus Toyota has packages for Tacomas to sell them with their TRD brand or Borla exhausts, so this isn't any different.
I remember watching your Genesis vids back in the day when we had the same subs and now you guys over 50k! Congrats and keep up the good work. I’m still working on 1k it’s just hard living in Japan lol
Can't believe you wasted all that money and time for that. Did you even consider putting it on a dyno before and after to see if there was a performance upgrade?
I think it has a great sound, just depends on what you are looking for. I have a different exhaust now with my new bumper and it's a bit louder. Are you looking for a good sound that's not crazy loud?
the most important part which is the sound....was just 3 seconds..... amazing
6:00 best part of the video
Lol

What I love about a truck no jacking up necessary!😍😍😍
You got that right! Makes it a lot easier for sure!
That's one thing I love about my Xterra P4X. The VQ40DE sounds awesome from the factory. No mods necessary.
8:10 maybe if they had not thrown away the instructions?

Umm, what are you talking about?? No glass with this exhaust.
i ordered it for my 4 Cyl Tacoma (diff model exhaust but similar) but they are taking FOREVER to ship it

I run a dual pipe split off my Flowmaster on my '00 Taco. Dual pipes sounds so much meaner than a single pipe.
a few more inches and it will be easier for you to install by just buying 2 hollow blocks and put under the tires.

Not that I have noticed! I've had a few systems since this one, and with stock tires was averaging between 18-21, with my 34's now it's around 16 lol.

I still hate the black wrap down low on the doors. Trucks will get scratches. No need to make it look worse with a wrap. Big mistake.

What do you guys do to keep the undercarriage clean and rust free? Just rinse it with water?
We'll drive it up on ramps and power wash the undercarriage
Bros FOURR Speed With just water right? We got a lot of hard water in South Carolina
Yup. Or go to a wand car wash and do the high pressure soap spray, and then rinse with water

Cool I just got a 2018 Tacoma Sport.
Break in an exhaust? Did you break in trsnny shifter?
The fiberglass packed mufflers always change tone over the first hundred miles or so. So yes, they do 'break in'
Replace the muffler with a flowmaster one

Jeff Niedzwecki got emmmmmm
What’s it do for fuel economy and horse power?
Red pilled patriot I think it adds two hp and two mpgs.
Where did you buy that blue trimming thats around the infotainment system or dash board, I really want to buy a red one for my tacoma
Can you even change your own oil alone? Do you not know the resonation difference between an oval and circular object?
You could have just got a muffler delete and it would have sounded louder and cheaper
Where did you buy your inside dash pieces that are the same color as the outside?
Chad Beebe he wrapped it or sprayed it him self
He painted it. There's a video
"Dad's tools are cool"
You should probably replace the muffler bearing as well.

Looks better than stock
Wraps look bad? How so? They’re evenly placed with no bubbles. You just don’t like the look. The wraps are fine
LOL U Could've saved so much money and just did a muffler delete 😂😣
muffler delete = loss in power and mpg.
that why u muffler delete > than straight pipe to get ur backflow back
Clout Zer0 str8 pipes sound like str8 trash. I've always gone with Flowmasters, sounds 10x better than that str8 pipe crap.

How much did that cost, can I install that on a 4 cylinder ?
Am I the only one that would never attempt any of this without gloves and eye protection?
How much horsepower does it get for changing the exhaust
Very little, overall.
Mall crawling isn't about horsepower. It's about looking good for the high school girls.
Since when does an exhaust need to break him.
Should have deleted the muffler and just bought the tip. Would sound much better

whats that black all the war around? Lin-ex?
Just vinyl. To prevent the paint getting scratched up

If it's a "cat-back" system, I think it will.
South Carolina might now have emissions or vehicle inspections required
Here in Minnesota we do not cause so many vehicles would fail
yes it will pass smog. as long as you don't mess with the catalytic converters
