I also need to do a fourtrax, think I'll try the weld fix first and hopefully it'll hold. Just had to rebuild the rear diff so not into doing any more tear downs yet hahaha
I like your style! I hope you guys go far! Need to do a Honda Foreman four wheeler. Hope some of this applies but probably a whole different beast! Cheers!
My shift shaft just split in half dropped my lever while riding barely made it home I think my heavy foot is too blame plus the lever had been welded previously -.-
I agree. Aluminum is significantly softer than steel, so the aluminum should definitely wear first. Strange. In this case the shifter was steel. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to weld it originally.

Good luck!
Thank you. This helps me alot!
Glad it helps!

Thanks, bro! Good luck with the Foreman.
Hi. is it also adaptable to other model? My vt1100c2 shift shaft broken.
Same concept, but different parts.
I heard that in order to replace shift shaft also I have to pull out the other side's clutch. is it right? @@some-guys-garage
@@리우다레 Sorry, I'm not familiar with that bike.

The lever bracket is aluminium and my spindle is steel but the little bit had been shaved off. Aluminium shouldnt be able to grind down steel.
