  • Hey guys in this video I will be showing you how to properly change your drinking water filters/cartridges in a Kinetico K5 Drinking water station. This video is specifically on the K5 but you can follow the same steps for most of Kinetico's drinking water units such as the A200 or deluxe plus.

Thanks the tip on the last filter was what was giving me trouble on the change. So few talk about that, appreciate you did. It really just does not get mentioned in most other videos! SO MANY THANKS FOR COVERING IT!!!

I wish I would have saw your video before I changed my filters. I struggled with the orange one but now you showed me the trick to do so. Thank you!

Great videos on the kinetico system. My brine tank isn't getting much water. Not coming above the plate. What do you suggest? Thanks

The orange filter with the blue indicator is metered for 500 gallons, after that it won't allow a flow. What do you use to clean the resin beads?

Can we by pass and continue to use the same current filters longer? Is it as simple as just untwisting and twisting back in?

I just came across your channel while researching kinetico water systems. Is troubleshooting most of the problems you come across DIY friendly and how hard is it to replace parts? Is there common problems you come across regularly?

I am seeing water in the blue tab and my tank isn’t filling up. The filters was just replaced about a month ago.

Should sediment prefilter go before or after CRS 1100? I added a CRS recently after softener install last year. My flow is city chloramine water to CRS then sediment filter then to softener. Can I expect a reduced life expectancy to my CRS by having the sediment prefilter come after CRS and before the softener?

I prefer the sediment filter to be after the CRS1100 and before the softener. I prefer doing it this way to protect the water softener from any carbon sediment that may be introduced into the water supply by the crs1100 over time. No prefilter on the CRS1100 should not affect the service life of the CRS1100. The water softener is the piece of equipment with all the complex hardware in the head "that could easily be clogged by a piece of carbon" while the CRS1100 is essentially a straight through filter no real moving parts to be worried about.

I plan on making a video very soon going over the cap area in the level 1 which is responsible for metering.
