Made this today. I frosted the outside with pilsbury chocolate fudge frosting. Anf crushed up some oreos for ontop of the cream cheese frosting before rolling, amd sprinkled some otop of the chocolate outside. Was so delicious, my family all loved it. Served with some strawberrys too.
@@mariamtariq4347 i would say just watch the video a few times. And follow the directions as best you can when it comes to cook time in the oven. And rolling, it cracked a little but was able to hold together enough with the frostings

I love to eat these! When we lived in Europe, I had the best pastries, cakes, strudels, and pies...each country had there version of the best sweets.. I was a little boy when our housekeeper would take me to the sweet shop and allow me to buy 10 Gummi bears for a pfennig...yum! I remember we had to go to the bakery for bread, the butcher for meat, etc...and if I was good she would take me by the sweet shop and let me purchase my fav candy...of course I was only 5 but Europe was magic for me when I was a little boy...I mean castles, knights, queens, black deep forests with trolls under the bridges and of course a few damsels who needed rescuing. Yes it was magic for this little boy...I especially loved Switzerland and England! Thanks Anna!

I teied the recipe and the cake was great evem thought my water and sugar turned into a candy mixture when I poured it into the egg mixture. I ended up taking them out and druched them and placed them back into the mix and then added the final 3 ingredients. The cake was awesome in texture and taste. The smell of it cooking was smelt ny my neighbors, It was phenomenal. Thanks for sharing this great tasting Swiss Roll recipe. By the way I had to go and buy another candy thermometer.

Thank you for the tip on dissolving the sugar before adding it in. You say to add sifted icing sugar for the frosting, is that measured before or after being sifted? I am always confused about that. I enjoy watching your videos and your recipes are always spot on!

To make it easy for you following these steps: 1) Have all your ingredients weighed and ready in separate bowls. 2) Have eggs & butter at room temperature before you start. 3) Pre-heat your oven. You will get better each time you make it. I hope you succeed.
I've made many a cake rolls but not like this. This way is SO much faster. If anyone wants another frosting idea to fill a roll I suggest using a marshmallow fluff frosting. Last year for Thanksgiving I made 2 pumpkin rolls. One filled with cream cheese the other filled with marshmallow. The marshmallow one? There was none left over to take home, lol. I'm going to give your way a try Anna. Can't wait to see if it works... 🤞
I NEED HELP here, but first off... 1. THANK YOU for the tip to boil the sugar to prevent cracking! It worked beautifully until I happened to mess up the roll...totally my fault, it was my first roll cake so I learned A LOT HERE! 2 The recipe is DELICIOUS! I made thos for my daughter who is now in great jeopardy of loosing her snack! 🤣 3. I need your advice please, or someone, at what point to I ROLL in the t towel...do I cool the cake first or roll warm? I rolled warm and even tho I used powder sugar you may guess what happened...it melted and the towel stuck and the roll cracked and I know almost for sure I should have cooled, flipped on towel, rolled, cooled just a few minutes, not the 30 I just allowed before filling and rerolling. Would my guess be accurate, and finally can we just use the parchment it baked on to roll it saving the added chance to Crack? Thank you again! It is SOOO GOOD!
Without a thermometer, are there any tricks to know when the syrup has reached the right consistency/temperature? Like, coating a spoon, or soft ball, etc?

Farah Asmar Are you talking about the cream cheese filling? If yes, I just left a comment about another type of frosting you could use that's just as good. Google a recipe for a marshmallow frosting (Sally's Baking Addiction has the recipe I use). I actually have to use both because my husband doesn't like cream cheese. Hope this helps...
