I made this vanilla cake today for my strawberry shortcàke and was perfect. It is a soft moist cake not dense like other cakes i have tried and sweetness is just right. This recipe is for keeps. Thank you for sharing.

I made the cake today and it came out pretty nice, super moist and perfect vanilla flavour! I didn't have enough butter so I used 1/2 cup of butter and 1/4 cup oil, I also replaced the buttermilk with some watered down vanilla greek yoghurt. The only negative was that there were major air pockets in the cake, even though I knocked the cake tins on the counter several times before putting them in the oven. Next time I will run a knife through the cake batter before baking. Thanks for this great recipe!! It will be my go to any time I need a vanilla cake!
Hands down the nicest vanilla cake I have made. I added a bit of vanilla paste too. I have tried sooo many recipes with medicocre or dry tasteless results. It seems vanilla is the hardest to perfect but this was delicious and a keeper! a go to recipe for sure, thank you, Anna. ☺

This recipe was amazing, took quite a while to make, especially the decorating but it was worth it! Everyone loved it. It was my first time using "cake flour" as I had only ever used all purpose and wow it was so light! I'll definitely be adding corn flour to more cakes.

While making the frosting, you said to add more cups of icing sugar depending on how soft the butter is, but does it mean that the softer the butter, the more sugar you add?

Love your recipes tried a few they always turned out. Can you let me know what I can substitute for cake and pastry flour and buttermilk. We don't have these ingredients in Cyprus.
what o find is that cold cream makes the caramel lumpy cause the caramel is setting as soon you put the cream so use room temperature cream or warm / preheated
