Mark loves the fans as much as they love him. In the years when star wars was out of the public consciousness (1984 - 1997) he said they always supported him, would attend any plays he did etc. He never took this for granted and is always open to them.
Without Luke Skywalker, there is no Star Wars. What a great guy.

Not necessarily! I was engaged in the David Prowse Darth Vader motions as James Earl Jones voiced Darth Vader's fictional character as being a believable character (action sequences)! Many characters made many people associate differently. Carrie Fisher in her own. Harrison Ford in his own. Peter Mayhew in his own. Ian McDermott (Emperor Palpatine) in his own, etc. People loved the Boba Fett character (or loved to hate) so much it seemed as if George Lucas' Star Wars stories could do no wrong! Okay maybe a little with the campy Ewoks that seemed out of place up to then.

JJ directed that one. Rian Johnson gave his character depth, conflict and resolution and Mark made you feel every moment. He was the star of that movie.

Hamill is one of the best Jokers ever, but even he admits Troy Baker doing the Joker was amazing. And it was. But then, it too was based on Hamill's performance. Which arguably means he is still the best Joker, since so many base their portrayals off of his.

Yeah I bet Shatner threw all kinds of tantrums when Roddenberry gave Spock a love interest. I can just imagine Shatner talkin mad shit to the execs, prod's and writers about all the backlash that would come from it. He really thought he was this "Ruler" in the Intergalactic Federation
+2lemonades Yeh i think Shatner threw a real hissy when Nimoy was given a chance to direct and he did the search for spock, then the voyage home. I think that really pissed off Shatner cause he directed one then, and it became "anything you can do, i can do better" feels.

Holy shit, this has to be one of the best interviews Hamill has ever done! I REALY enjoyed it... And this is coming from a guy who has already seen Mark live at CV, CVI, Star Wars Weekends and last year at Celebration 2017.
Steven Land find everything you can on UA-cam with him. He did a tour of colleges a few years ago, and even though he repeated most of his stories you'll love it! I love when he does Harrison Ford.

So much fun :-) I didn't watch the show much as a kid, but the Joker always made a great impression, I would have never guessed it was him, and he's right: it was partly because the character Luke is so far removed from Joker.

I love Mark Hamill. I also love Star Wars, more before Disney acquired it, but I still love it. I will remember him for not only Luke, but the voice of the Joker. He has incredible voice acting skills as well. I think his voice for the Joker was the best voice for the villain. Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix played him amazingly, but Mark has the best voice for him.
