Whoever started youtube channel in 2024, don't give up!! 👍
💯
I actually started a few days ago, genuine thanks for the words of encouragement
I started 1 month ago but still have a long way to go.
Thanks man!
Thank you for that! Gotten so much better over a course of few days in my own opinion. Now I know where i am aiming and I intend to keep it up!😊 Hope the best for everyone else out there aswell!😇🙏
Yeah. Decently sized shorts creator as a living here, Creativity needs to take a hit at the start, and my biggest tip for anyone starting shorts is.. Follow Trends don’t try and start trends at the start.
needed that advice! especially coming from someone who's made it as a shorts creator, how has no one else seen this comment yet?! lol
THIS! Thank you
This comment deserve more visibility and likes. Give it a like so more people see it.
I also want to become a UA-cam creator and I do lots of efforts in my video but at the end I think, no it's not gonna a good one so I don't upload it can anyone please tell me that what type of content should I include in my videos
Hi milrus
Shorts are insanely difficult to be consistent! You can make the best short and it will literally do nothing, upload a potato with googly eyes and it will go viral haha
Seriously! 😂

🤣
Yeah this is very true!

Good job, we appreciate your work
bruh I wasn't even gonna do that 😭
Yeah bro it’s so annoying
Remember: UA-cam is about passion, you’ll get famous one day, don’t give up and don’t be rough to yourself.
Thanks for saying this, I'm a new tuber and my dream is to be able to take off. The start has been slow but I am determined to share my game play and share my personality with the world. I've gone from zero views almost always to finally traction, small but it's movement. Just need them people to sub but time will bring it

I saw that too!
Of course:)
@@vidIQcat
So you're making animal videos 😊 @vidIQ
Yay cat ❤
I've dropped one short a day since September and it has blown up my channel. These tips are great advice except for that you SHOULD try to push people from your shorts to your longs. I have gained tens of thousands of extra views on my livestreams simply by linking them as related videos in my shorts. Good stuff vidIQ!
We got you:)

What ive seen- you cannot PUSH....they will go on their own if they want to...nothing you can do if they dont
I find visual cues, ASMR-type content and building to the final product interesting, even though I love high quality content being uploaded, it does not please the younger audience who are totally into random things. It's insane how something seemingly "low effort" gains tons of views too but that's mostly because people know who they are. :3 I hope everyone keeps growing, its a struggle when some people only want to focus on big numbers indeed! It'll come. 🎉🎉

This video was very needed. We get stuck at around the 2k to 10k view mark consistently, and sometimes the watch time, CTR, and all other metrics are actually GOOD and STILL, they fall off of a cliff. Let me tell you, when our first short gets 1 million views, I will edit this message and let you know! ❤❤❤
Let us know if it works. I'm trying now. The less Seo I do the more views. Strange
@Paws-And-Claws-Top-Animals Oddly, yeah! We've been playing around with techniques like "unchecking the publish to subscriber" button as suggested by Thor from Pirate Software. We've tried adding descriptions and tags. We've tried different lengths, loops, and hashtags. There isn't really a real rhyme or reason for it to us yet. We've had videos with NO SEO, and it's been about 10k, and we've had ones where we took extra care and time on it, and it's not done well at all. I guess the real test is maybe uploading 2 of the same video and doing one of each. That might be the litmus test we need.
@4FramesPerSecond Agree. THINK Media has no channel tags that I see. To be honest my channel for my home videos has 4000 videos since 2006 and does better with no effort. Maybe Age has something to do with it as well. Uggg
On one of my channel, I got 3.2 million view in 3 days then it all gone, like never happened anything...it's the YT Algo, then it likes your video, it will give you beyond imagination, then all stooped!
@@ACEWouldYouRather Without knowing you or your channel, how did you follow up with it? What was your immediate next video when eyes were most on you?
i did hear from rob and from people that work from youtube that when you have little short views that the youtube algorithm is trying to find your seed audience which is basically the algorithm trying to find a audience that will always watch your content
Done Please 💜🖤💜🖤
I started my channel posting dark psychology and teaching the reality of the world .. the start was little good.. I try to post one video every day.. but it becomes tiring as the day passes and no results... Now I am at a point where my shorts get hardly 5 views.. but I will try to put the things I learnt from this video... Fingers crossed 🤞🏿
Excited to apply!

My first TWO shorts got some traffic and were picked up for the feed, then suddenly after those two - basically nothing at all. Even though they started out with good impression to click ratio and watchtime over 100% that really didn't plummet. Can't really tell what and why, honestly 😁
😂
I have had a similar experience. After posting 10 shorts (2-3 shorts per week), my views went from 0 to 100. It's not a huge improvement, but it's progress.
@@LegendYokai I had around 800 on the first one and 1,5k on the 2nd one. But I mean, my channel is only 1 week old, so I can't really judge anything by that but yeah. All shorts after the first two are basically under 50 views and stuck with absolutely no movement at all :D Even though all their graphs indicate interest - watch time was high, impressions were basically equal to views, retention was almost full, too. Can't really judge it STILL, because it's a very new channel. But if algorithm works how we are led to believe it works, those shorts should have gotten SOME traffic, and not stagnate to death. :D Data doesn't lie, but it seems like it kind of could.
I have a quick tip for y'all
Use copyrighted music (Post it from your UA-cam app and add the music from there - make your video have no audio before importing it into the app).
The shorts I post on my personal channel gets - 2k views within the first 3hrs
It depends on the time your audience is online
That's when it gets viewed
IDK but my videos aren't going to far as I am expecting
My shorts video with the highest views is only 25.8k
Altogether my channel has gotten 148k views from 21 videos on YT shorts
It's still a ball game and I'm learning
And on my second channel - faceless YT channel
I posted my second Shorts video
And I got 26k views within two days
Overall, it depends on the quality of the video and sometimes the music you use on it
This is typically me
I really need to get decent at storytelling... But I have a question. What would you recommend to art/beauty/dance creators whose shorts are often based on transitions or focused around the music? A lot of short videos of this type (for example, makeup transitions, and they don't have to be too dramatic like you've erased 60 years) have a lot of success, but mine and a lot of people's gain a decent amount of views, but rarely go viral. What can be improved about those? Is there a better way to hook people in besides adding text on screen? They kind of understand from the start it's an art or makeup transition video or, for example, a dance, so how do those big creators get people to watch the whole thing, while the rest of us can't?
Done Please ✅💜✅💜
Great advice, I'm finally started to find my momentum with shorts. I had used some of those automated long form to shorts software, but they don't do what you need to do for a short to be really viral... You have to actually edit them as you say.
Thank you so much! I have been struggling with Shorts but this such a big help! Keep grinding everyone! Hopes that we can get that Silver Play Button soon! ❤
Though I am just starting to create UA-cam shorts, I have a suggestion for you. You can feature your cat in your shorts perhaps in a separate channel. Your cat is adorable and has potential to be viral😅
😀👍 I did it
ahahah yes, this cat is a star....
@@vidIQ vidIQat
Perfect. This lets me know that you guys are actually putting in the work and although you are a bigger channel you still face the same challenges
Quality doesn't matter much with shorts if you're a small channel... they're very random... all you need to do is trick the algorithm, make shorts the algorithm likes while making sure people will also like it enough to push that like button every now and then (this rules out telling a story, as a small channel any short that's over 15-20 seconds is likely to fail)
Swiped-viewed rate also doesn't matter, nor does AVD with shorts....
My most successful shorts had low viewed-swiped rate and AVD at first while by far most of my shorts with over 90% viewed-swiped ratio and >100% AVD flopped with just a handful of impressions
I btw have had great success with getting people from my shorts to my long-form content.... it definitely works!
Did the method “but..so..but..so “ and story telling tips my numbers “ AVD :116.7% STR :60.7% - 39.3) I’ll update yall in a week to see where it goes if yall wanna know 😅
Thank you for putting the lights in the description I was the one asked about them in your last video or video before last so thanks for adding them in the description appreciate it and appreciate the tips
THIS IS SO HELPFUL! I am trying to just get to my 1000 subscribers and the watch hours and I am SPENT AND DONE and totally had a meltdown this week trying to do diy craft videos 5 days ( almost ) a week. Like I can not humanly do another crappy craft and that's just it ! Being creative doesn't come on demand! And it takes money and time to actually make it, step it out, shoot it, edit it and I have been so upset from all of this.
Part of my frustration comes from younger youtubers that seem to make 5 videos and get millions of views ( i do wonder if its from a Boost$$) All of that said I am going to go back and look at my shorts from some of the tricks you mentioned and see what happens. Its a lot easier than covering ALL of my kitchen cabinets with sky blue contact paper to look relevant for a DIY ! I can't wait to try these tips you posted! wish me luck and check out my station ! I am trying lol
I watched an earlier vid iq today thats around 5 months old mention younger channels should post one short a day analyze what works best. do you think that is still a good idea or is it best to only put out top quality shorts if your main focus is long video?
4:32 - 4:40 cat 😺 in the background ❤😂
YAY COOL CAT❤
Great vid on Shorts, Dan! It also seems that using moving captions in your Shorts can be effective way to keep viewers' eyes on the screen as well
Very true!
Thank You for this! Just like all ur other informative videos. I need it
Newbe here. Considering making a long form video, saving it but also edit it and save the part that sums everything up and using that as a short.
I'm taking it slow now to refuel myself pumping out content is great I agree sometimes you don't give yourself time for new things or new idea's.
I’m short
😭
Yea I make shorts to post everyday. It’s so hit and miss
I have been trying some of these tips on my shorts, not quite there yet but this has given me more clarity, Thank you
Keep up the great work, you've got this!
i have a question can my long form channel can get hurt by making short form videos
yes
@@sahants i am using shorts to gets first 1000 subs then long form
Long form video don't get much views when you get sub from shorts.
I bet you haven't realized this, but the titles of UA-cam Shorts have changed to only being 1 line rather than the entire thing. Check out any UA-cam Short with a decently long title and you will see the entire title will not appear. 😮
My shorts were getting decent amount of views, after I recieved an email about My channel doesn't sufficient channel history Anyone could help me about this matter?
Just started youtube doing shorts. Hoping to get it done. Thank you for this video!
Thanks for tips
Yes, thank you for sharing, it's very good and wonderful
Shorts still work really great for me on my second channel. I mean, I am just small content creator and I work really hard (I also use a little bit of fame -ster, but that's a necessity nowadays). I just give all my videos small initial boost, and that caused them to spread literally everywhere, bringing more and more organic views day after day.
The fact that i edited the last video on my chanel so precisley and shorts being a lottery thing is just so annoying
Thanks for the video! Making shorts for a new Quiz channel appears to be challenging. I'm still trying to figure out what type of shorts will work best for this channel.
‘Videos are like a restaurant menu’ and I think shorts are like a conveyor belt sushi bar.
The best approach to achieving viral success on UA-cam is by offering something distinct from others. Highlight what sets your channel apart and create videos that break the mold, catering to popular interests while presenting a fresh perspective. By delivering content that resonates uniquely with your audience, you increase the likelihood of capturing their attention and going viral.

hi
Can we only edit on desktop? I don’t see the option on mobile. I cannot change my thumbnail nor can I edit the actual short. Help?
This was really helpful as someone doing long form and shorts, this helped clarify a new strategy, thanks guys!
This is my go to channel and this is the only channel on UA-cam that I am subscribed to and I like is the only one that I am subscribe to the other life
Whenever I upload a good short it skyrockets to 2,000 views on average in an hour at most, and then stops instantly. I have no idea why and am struggling to fix it.
Same for me except sometimes yt tested my short for a few hours/days & then skyrocket and then views flatlined
@@Sujoy.Gaming That's because UA-cam finding the your initial audience (seed audience) it takes time
Its because youtube tests your shorts with an audience called "seed audience". And if the audience engages with the short well, it will get a huge boost and skyrocket. But if the audience doesnt engage with it, for example, swipes away, bad like to view ratio etc, youtube will not push it out into further "main audience".
@@memematrix69420 Okay thanks. But when UA-cam shows the seed audience it gets me tons of subscribers and sometimes hundreds of likes, is that not good enough to push it to the main audience?
What do you think is an appropriate viewed/swiped ratio and like ratio . I am creating shorts in one of the most competitive games (pubg) . Recently managed to get over 66% viewed vs swiped viewed/swiped ratio and 92% retention for 28sec short and ut went till 11k. Likes were 243 (average likes on this short were less than some other top performing shorts)
My shorts were getting decent amount of views, and all of a sudden... BARELY NOTHING!. Frustrating and kinda makes you lose motivation :(
Can you tell me how many seconds of the video count as viewed vs swiped away ratio?
I have 11 subs!

Once my shorts channel blew up it got terminated. Idk why it did but i'm waiting for a real person to review it through twitter😅
the tension loop makes so much sense
Is there an advantage to uploading shorts from the phone rather than desktop version?
Solid advice!
We got you!
what if i posted a short and it got 7 impressions and its been 2 days. and no other data on that short at all? i dont have any data for viewed vs swiped away. its been 2 days
I’m very passionate about my content but I’m still struggling to get noticed. Went down to a few posts a week from posting everyday but still nothing. Is it time I got ‘the message’ or I keep doing what I do and cross my fingers🤔
Keep going, we subbed ❤
one of the biggest issues that people don't talk about is your subscribers are actually hurting your channel. if they are not watching your video when youtube pushes to them first that actually hurts your channel
4:35 aww cute cat in the background
Persistence, patience, and hard work are the keys to success. Best wishes to all beginners, myself included, on our journey to reaching our goals.
I’ve been posting gaming shorts consistently since probably June of last year, and today I hit 600 subscribers!
While I’m proud of my progress on UA-cam, I lost my son back in November and it’s been the hardest part of this whole journey…
Staying consistent afterwards felt impossible, so I’ve just been taking it easy and doing daily shorts rather than working on a big projects for now.
I haven’t really come up with a content strategy or anything either, and I know it’s pretty important to do that if I want to take things to the next level.
So if you guys have any advice or suggestions feel free to let me know!
God bless! 🙏
What do you recommend for music channels like me? I do some talking at the beginning but my videos are more about the music
I agree with all of this in the video because what matters is quality and purpose.
Thanks, these videos help me, very new to this, so I love learning how to create content for Instagram, UA-cam and TikTok. Slowly getting better, but that's for the educational videos. Looking forward to getting better and improving content.
Has the vidIQ channel ever gone over some of the mobile editing tools that were highlighted at 7:27? I would like to see a video about that!
@vidIQ, Question: I followed the instructions, but some of my videos aren't getting showed to anyone so I can get any views. How do I fix that?
I created this channel few months ago and I have now got over 75k+ views. I am also getting views for my long form content.
How long does it take to get impressions on your videos? I started my long form channel two weeks ago and I only have 11 impressions total so far.
Thank you for the helpful tips! We started shorts a month ago and we’re not giving up any time soon
Hello! Should you launch your new channel with just one video? Or should your start with several videos so people have more content to watch and reason to subscribe? Thanks!
Thanks so much for the info! Can you give more tips on faceless channels? Also how do I know why one short does really well and another one doesn't?
Over the month of Janaury, I post everyday for the entire month. I went from 23 subs to 105 before february. Its feb 5th and I’m tired but there is so much content that my viewers wanna see and that I want to make but I have to constantly remind myself that if I try to make EVERYONE happy, no will be including me. This was helpful😊
I do believe that shadowban really exist in UA-cam 😤
There is no doubt that it exists.

My Channel all about food sharing my passion of food and cooking. Do I upload shorts related to my long form content (food) or I can upload about everything on shorts? I’m so brand new to UA-cam 😁 Thank you for sharing and have a great day! 😍
I like the cat in your background. Send it (him / her) over!
Honestly I just want to be able to get a good concept of how the algorithm really works, seems random at times to me
Any tips for a game development channel? All of my audience is hindi but the videos are in English. This is killing my retention
We have to keep going, fighting!
I have 60-75% on long form and I got 20 views, and over 65% on swipes and 120% retention getting 1K up to 3-4K. Can somebody explain this?
are you boy ?? :)
I applied something picked up in this video to a new short and can tell it made a difference 🎉
I do gaming shorts I have a hard time with the hooks on some of my shorts? Anytips for gaming video hooks?
I made a new account for Anime edits the first video did nice, but everything else 0 views.. Nothing working i deleted those and one day i work up at like 1AM at night and just upload a short.. Woke up to 6k I'm like.. So I used that time for like 2 weeks it worked 1k to 3k views ☺ but then next week 0 views on every other video, bro why is UA-cam shorts this way there not showing anyone the video bro even tiktok or Reels would at least show 10 people 😢
Thanks for helping us to grow our channel ❤
Hope I can have a successful channel in the future 🙂
I got recommend a live stream while watching UA-cam shorts?
You need to provide value with great editing while keeping up with the trend
I still don't understand the process. One of my shorts blew up to 7K+ and then stopped even though it was 55% viewed by the impressions given out. Over 250+ likes and comments, but then UA-cam said nah. LOL. But I have stopped from doing a short a day to 3 a week.
Can i ask you should I put tags to my shorts or it is not good to my short video ?
I started my channel Jan 2 2024.
Channel is growing , we hit 107 subs in one month 3 days.
Thanks for all the tips.
Hoping to hit 500 subs by the end of 2024.
Yall on fire fr with the features for creators!
is there a chance to be monetized by remixing yt shorts?
I had a couple channels on schedules that killed me in the end. Within a year I was burnt by both, and didn't enjoy it.
I only get up to 8K on shorts, then all of a sudden i got almost 350K for one video i didn't even exert on effort to make. I just wrote my comment on a popular TV drama that had no closure for their two main characters. It got about 600 subs, too. I actually do not understand why 😂 I think, indeed, people are invested in a story.... With some shorts, i only get barely a hundred when i spent so much time editing them. Oh well...
Do views on shorts equate to any kind of ad revenue if you get monetized?
