Things I learned from this video. :D
    1. You don't need an elaborate Intro. Just get to the thing.
    2. The first 30 seconds should be where you propose your value. :D
    3. Use Bright Colors in your Thumbnails
    4. The *Foreground* should be brighter.
    5. Minimal Clear Text is helpful!

That's a good point that we need to keep the viewer hooked for the first 30 seconds not just (1) to encourage them to watch more of the video but also (2) so the UA-cam algorithm/recommendation systems starts recommending the video to others.
I didn't really think about it like that before.

I've been focusing a lot more on thumbnails lately and my newest video is doing far better than the rest of it's series since I got to the change on it sooner. Now I'll see how the rest do as I upload under a better schema overall. I've been making the mistake of keeping the intro reading in for my series up to this point as well and that will be dropping in my videos from now on as well. Was listening to the one that didn't have it and it really was just a better experience.

Thank you very much I hope you answer me, I am afraid that UA-cam will not recommend my videos due to the algorithm and that it will take into account my data from my old videos which are from another niche.

Retention time is definitely hard but for me the most important thing is CTR. Generally, if my videos stay around 5% of CTR, they perform average but if the CTR goes around 10%, I get 2-5X more views. So, I invest around 30 minutes to an hour making the best thumbnail and title combo.

The fastest and best way to grow fast in my opinion (I was only 11 when I did this and I went to getting 1 sub per week to getting 2-10 subs per day) is to find a niche that has almost no competition (just a few vids about it with the best performing getting at least several thousands of views) that’s very specific and make ur whole channel about it and once u have a fan base slowly expand. Sadly I began taking breaks once I was getting success but I am gonna return to making vids now. The technique I use can only be done if your vids are as good or even better than the best performing ones in the niche when you first start out.

Hi, I created a channel with shorts , documentaries. I noticed that since January 2023, ever since monetization was opened to shorts, my views have dropped a lot. Also in January 2023 I started to use chatGPT to create my scripts and the scripts sound so well to me that I don't change them. What would be the problem? Should I stop using chatGPT? My channel has no monetization . Is there a website or anything to tell me if I provide any value to my audience and if I need to change something? Am I going in the right direction? Thanks

You need to be able to get a decent push in the first 24 hours for the video to be pushed out further. If you're unable to get a few people to watch your video in the first 24 hours (I think a good amount is if views reach 10% of your sub count in the first 24 hours) then UA-cam will decrease future impressions and thus future views.

I don’t think UA-cam really helps new small channels 😒. I started a channel last year and began posting shorts videos and I was getting over 1K views on almost every video and then all of a sudden every shorts I’d posted would get 0 views 🤣. I stopped posting again after a few months and I started getting back views with the highest being over 5K and now all of a sudden I’m back to getting 0 views. I’m literally confused about this because if it wasn’t for this I’d be close or pass that 1K sub mark.

I honestly disagree with the statement that "UA-cam does not owe me anything" because if UA-cam puts adds on my videos although I am not (yet) monetized then I really do think that UA-cam owe me a share of that add-revenue. Furthermore UA-cam's Shorts are horrible: no option to set desired thumbnail AND each shorts video "platoes" at certain amount of viewing; clearly indicating non-organic algorithm. And at the very end: Go ahead and admit it: Shorts belong to TikTok NOT on UA-cam!

I uploaded my first video on UA-cam 13 years ago. It now has a million views and earned me subscribers and watch hours to get monetized. BUT -- UA-cam won't monetize me over a single video that even had a copyright strike. (I only started really making UA-cam videos a week ago.)
So, I'm now back to square one. Figuring out what videos I like to make, and what my audience would like to see. Since I have a ton of ideas and am not so sure who my audience is, I figured --- what do I want to watch on UA-cam? Maybe, I'd start there.

Honestly, really struggling with motivation at the moment as my shorts have gone from getting around 1k views to less than a hundred 😭 your videos help to keep me inspired and determined, so thank you. Hopefully one day I can have a successful channel!

@@SparkyBuilt ah sorry that that's happening for you. Do you have Vidiq installed? I've been experimenting with my titles and find that helps. I always make sure I get 50/100 for the tags/keywords and titles

I once tried my hand on uploading a thumbnail on one of my more recent videos. If I would've figured it out sooner, I would've done it.

I've started making Roblox funny contents 2 years ago, i am an 11 year old Roblox content creator since 2021, the first video i did was so bad that i privated it (ofc i didn't deleted it). Bu, after that 2 years, i started improving, my editings us improved, my thumbnails is improved, and my titles is kinda improved. I never gave up doing this, i kept trying and trying and trying, no matter what, NEVER give up.

I have been on youtube shorts for about 1 year now, but I have kinda been on and off about youtube the whole time but now I want to make a career of it. I wish I spent the time I did not want to make videos on youtube. Remember to never give up on your channel and no matter how long time it takes. We all start somewhere and nothing is impossible to acheive as long as you put in the effort it takes over time

I was never under the delusion that UA-cam "owed" me 1,000 subscribers, but that was something I always wished to have, and I still do now.

UA-cam is CRAZY Hard! But SUPER Rewarding, you will burn out, you will be deflated, but if you listen to your audience and give them what they want, you WILL make it, so keep on trucking!
