@D RBefore you come with scary outdated stories why don't you look at the actually recent studies about vit D3 supplementation? I've been taking that for years with no symptoms, studies says is very hard to get toxicity over this supplement unless you suffer some certain condition which is RARE but is a good idea to take it with K2 to help the calcium get into the bones instead floating on the blood stream.

@D R It does not stay for a long periods and acts like a hormone that regulates inflammation which protects the immune system by making it stronger. It is important to take it if you spend lots of time indoors (which is unnatural) or live far away from the equator. The amounts that are regulated by the corrupt system is outdated.

My personal experience vitD3 for serious chronic urinary problems:
I got chronical prostatitis and uretrithis for more than 12 years and since 8/2023 permanent urethral katether (PMK) for urinary obstruction.
    7-8/2023 Starting taking vit. D3 20 000 IU/day for 1-2 months
    11.9.2023 level of 25-OH vit.D 138,7 nmol/L
6.5.2024 operation of urinary bladder stone and BHP (-7g removed)
8-2024 again full obstruction again PMK, diagnosed with bladder neck tightening
    Since 5-2024 again daily dosage 20 000 IU D3 (drops D3+k2)
    15.7. 2024 level of 25-OH vit.D 106,0 nmol/L
    2.10. 2024 level of 25-OH vit.D 190 nmol/L, and Ca 2.53 mmol/L
    since 9-2024 increased daily dosage to 50 000 - 70 000 IU (D3+k2 drops)
15.10.2024 second urinary operation - widening bladder neck by holmium laser PMK removed after 1 week, during night 9-12x urination
    29.10.2024 level of 25-OH vit.D > 375nmol/L ! not determined exactly, parathormon 20 ng/L
Subjective observations: Big improvements in pain reduction, urinary frequency reduction since 30.10.2024.
Since no experienced doctors in high dosing of vitD3 in my country found, so „ DIY Coimbra“ it is..
1.11. 2024 organized a new measurement where blood will be dilluted 2x to be able to measure up to 600nm/L probably I will ask for measurement of Calcium again. Also taking chelated magnesium zinc and 1x a week Cu and Fe
I wonder if somebody experienced might have any insights or recomendations?

If you are concerned, go to your doctor and get a blood panel done. I did, and my levels of vitamin d were like half of the min value. The doctor gave me a high dose vitamin d pill to take 1x a week. Doctor upped it to twice a week at my last checkup. It is generic and like 5$ with my insurance. So, my point is that you should see your doctor, they take it seriously. If they don’t, find another doctor.

@@bkc74445 hi there - just read your post and I too did not want my gallbladder removed (fear of surgery)! It was a good thing I did have it removed as it was completely compacted with big stones. If I had loosened any of them they would have been stuck in my bile ducts and that would have been a major surgery. The surgery for removal of your gallbladder is less invasive. When I woke after surgery the dr told me my gallbladder was so bad he was surprised it didn’t fall apart when he was removing it. He also told me he had to make the incision bigger to get it out. I envisioned a big incision and when I removed the gauze a few days later I laughed as it was so small! It is a minor surgery compared to what would happen if stones become lodged. I use plant digestive enzymes and I add a “fat” enzyme made by Trophic if I eat anything like a piece of pizza or lasagna. We need both modalities and this is a time you will want to consider having the surgery.

agree. Did read a lot before taking vitamin d and decided to take 10.000 IU D3 a day + 200 K2 + sufficient amounts of Magnesium since D needs magnesium to fully work in your body. Additionally most people are also defficient in magnesium. I recommend doing your own research and deciding with what amount of IU you want to start, ideally measuring your levels. I will do my testing next month but I am 100 % sure I was and probbaly still are defficient anyways so I am less afraid to overdose in this short time span.

I suffer from depression, anxiety and have adhd. I was told my vitamin d level was low and I bought a supplement on Amazon for 50,000 IU’s to be taken weekly.
Well, I started off following the directions, completely stopped taking my vitamin D after my level reached within range and then completely forgot about the cadence. So I ended up taking 50,000 IU’s almost every other day for awhile because I completely forgot about it being weekly (I kind of want to blame my adhd, especially after quitting adderall).
I didn’t get sick surprisingly and for reference, I’m a female and weight 128 pounds.
I have stopped taking vitamin D as often and switched to a lower dosage amount that I can take daily without the anxiety of possible toxicity.

I've used the sublingual and the gummies...I resorted to sitting in the sun at peak hours for my region for 30 mins a day and it went up to the 30's but didn't stay up....finally my doctor Rx'd calcitriol..one year on it and my level of D went down from the 20's to 13...I've given up taking it above 1000 IU daily. I've been hearing about the necessity of taking K2 with it...but I have trouble digesting gel caps and can't swallow huge pills/tablets/caps....at this point my calcium levels are in the low 9's which is normal for my age (73) but my pth is 15 points above normal lab reference range and my tsh is below normal range. I think my parathyroid is preventing me absorbing the Vitamin D to keep my calcium levels in check, so the calcium doesn't end up in my arteries vs my bones. IT IS FRUSTRATING TO SAY THE LEAST.

He said black people specifically have very low levels of Vitamin D and attributes it to the darker skin. I’ve lived in beach cities my whole life and I’ve rarely seen a black person at the beach so that could be why too. They may not sun bath. I have tanner skin and my doctor said that it acts as a sunscreen to one degree. But that may make it less likely to absorb Vitamin D as much as others.

    • @prettypraline
      @prettypraline Рік тому

@@allispossible8447 No. He said they “may not sunbathe”. There’s plenty of cultural reasons why we avoid the sun…(not wanting to get darker, being warned against it, using sunscreen). We tend to have very low levels of the vitamin overall bc of this avoidance. The sun is how the body makes vit d. While a white person can get daily sun needs in 15-20 mins, a black person needs 3xs as much sun exposure for the same amount. Also, black skin can block up to 99% of uvb rays (which is what your body uses to make vit d). I lifeguarded for years and spent my life around water and I can concur with his statement. I was often the only black person out in the open sun…literally sunbathing with no umbrella, tent in these areas, and swimming in the water.
