I do agree with Peter Jones that she didn't really seem to be too ready with the numbers, at least as much as other Shark Tank contestants usually are, but damn do I love Mark agreeing with the entrepreneur when she quickly and coldly said "no" to Peter Jones telling her that she needed a "supercharged entrepreneur" lmao
I'm not happy for her. Not because I'm a hater and sneer at others success. No doubt she worked hard for it. But weaponizing your identity or adversity-story to garner pity offers is disgusting. She acted like she barely crawled out from death's door when 90% of fungal pneumonia patients recover without treatment. The "misdiagnosed" jive was a pure red herring. She is a crazy chicken.

@@vergagigante8630 The point of this is to gain partners, they can secure the patent, and having their knowledge is extremely valuable. It's a pretty okay deal. The royalty will require them to sell 600,000 hats. If she sells an additional 600,000 hats with their help, and a patent blocking competition, she stands to profit greatly. She was projecting 1.7mil in sales for the year, 1.7mil / 20 per hat = 85,000 hats. With their help, that volume increases for sure, and she stands to make more money, faster. She needed capital and partners to expand, and make larger orders. It has nothing to do with her just needing $200k for whatever.
I feel like she should’ve tried to lower it so the royalty ends at 400k doubling their money but tripling it is just the sharks being greedy

The sharks are all over the place they ask 1 million questions at a time expecting the entrepreneur to answer them …meanwhile Peter is so composed and actually waits for a chance to speak…you can tell he’s British 😅

Just shows how important financial literacy is. She is a great entrepreneur by no doubt, but the original deal of peters was so much better, or if they were to add royalties she could have countered with 10 percent and saw their reaction. Even peter was shocked with how much they got away with.
Yep, I saw that too. The surprise of an experienced businessman at a proposition that was less competitive being pitched and accepted. Almost as though his expression was saying "Are you seriously proposing to swindle an entrepreneur for royalty for a product with no patent?"
I think she just didn't understand the offer at that point, you could see she was totally out of it as she followed the last explanation of the deal. She had two options, say "can you ELI5?" or "hmmm deal", and she went with the latter, assuming it was better than any previous offer.
Yeah, Peter even realized it was a worse deal and made Kevin go down from 25% to 20%

You guys are over analyzing this as arm chair internet financial experts. You cannot infer anything from this 12 minute video. The real negotiations take up to 10-14 hours sometimes. You have no idea about the details and balance sheets of the true deal and the company. Just stop acting like you're experts it's so cringe.
I love how they were all shouting questions at her and not letting her think/answer, then they say she's all over the place. Classic Shark Tank. That deal was horrible. They get 20% of her business as a thank you for giving her a $200k loan at 300% interest. May as well go to Check in to Cash and get a payday loan.
The pitch really goes over an hour long, they piece things together. I'm guessing the cut footage had her being more all over the place
It's not a loan per se because if she fails to sell any hats, there is no royalty to pay. Rather the royalty is more of a temporary equity stake that must be liquidated. This stifles growth in the company as the investor is essentially getting an early payout. However, it is not a loan at all. A loan can bankrupt a company. The royalty would only be coming out of sales. No sales, no debt.
I think it's a great deal. It's not that these two sharks just dump in Money. Both are huge entrepreneurs and their influence could propel the company to.much much higher heights.

No, this show doesn't deserve Peter, he may not be the richest but he is by FAR smarter and has a colossal amount more expertise, connections and better advice. Not only that, he doesn't have any chemistry with the sharks i wouldn't be surprised if he hates them. Who does mark cuban who gained his wealth via pure luck think he is. He isn't some economical titan people think he is. People far poorer than him could give much better advice have much better connections and not be a wacky little weirdo. I'm sticking to dragon's den, hate this.

Good on this lady for getting a deal. it seemed like she was all over the place with the sharks at first, but I think sadly it is because of the stroke she experienced, it affected her and that's why she seemed lost at some times during the deal and overly emotional when she got called crazy chicken.
I am glad that Mr. Wonderful and Mr. Global caught on this fast and tried to make amends because of her potential...they knew they made a mistake judging her beforehand.

I think it's a bad deal for her. She has 1.7 million in sales increasing at 40% annually. With a dollar per sale of around 20 dollars, in around 5-7 years, Mr wonderful and Mr global would make 600k $ and still have 10% of the company each.
She did seem like she was all over the place from an investors perspective. Now the hour pitch was reduced 11 minutes, but she didn't appear hard core and focused. The royalty keeps entrepreneurs honest, so they continue to grind and not sit back on their bums.
Firmly agree. THis is NOT a start up nor a high risk type of venture. She was offered a horrible deal and should have stuck with either (not both) sharks since they teemed up and ruined the better deal she had.

I have been watching "mr Global" in english version of Shark Tank and he is very good bussinessman, and cool, and funny. Even thou it is a simple product so it could be a success. With mr Global connections with productio facilities in China, Bangladesh, Vietnam,. they can easily drop her manufacuture cost with 30% or even 50%
Last week i`ve watched a documentary on YT about the clothing business in Bangladesh, it`s just awful...

If, and that's a big if, sales stay the same, they'll have already gotten back $255,000 on their $200,000 investment, still have the royalty until $600,000 comes back...and they own 20% of the company. Talk about an almost risk-free deal. I know they'll add tons of value, just observing.

Honestly, I don’t think the original offer from Kevin was that bad with her keeping the entire equity.
It would have been terrible for her. There's no patent so as others enter the market there would be massive downward pressure on price and Kevin would still be taking $1 a unit even if the price dropped to $5. Percentage royalty deals are workable but fixed price ones are deadly.
She really got emotional and offended because Kevin called her a crazy chicken? Girl please…🙄 my friend calls me dog, not that big of a deal.
I bought a hat exactly like this for Christmas at least 4 or 5 years ago at The Source in Canada. Nothing proprietary, this deal will never close.
Boy this was a Journey of emotions for me, one of the most amazing stories, it really has everything, Introduction, Conflict (Kevin's bad manners), and solid outcome and happy ending with Mr wonderful & Global. Amazing story
