Robert is a poser with ego issues
It’s edited
Cause he loves reminding everyone he's the real shark lol
I'm surprised no one mentioned that the senior citizen needs to be tech savvy enough to use this app. I see that as a huge problem
maybe 15 years ago it was. I know so many people over 60 that are on the PC and smart phones alot. Even some are gamers!
Gotta remember that the younger people keep getting older lol
If they can order groceries curbside they should have no problem with this app
Ditto
These pitches are highly edited down so I am sure it was mentioned but nothing interesting came of it and so it didn’t make the final cut
He should have countered, they would have accepted 30% easily! That's the reason they asked for 35%...
seemed so obvious, the guy was probably just nervous
@@pouyanbahrami1212 Yes, that's what I think also!
Hey man, can you change the comment with an edit?
Because it kind of ruined the experience
I agree
Agree, they both were probably aiming to seal the deal at 30% if he wud have countered exactly that.
Love how Mark doesn't want the entrepreneurs to get ripped off with bad deals.
He has no problem ripping people off if it's his offer. He only cares when he's not involved.

This is such an interesting idea The only drawback I can think of: let's say you use the app 2 or 3 times and you build a good relationship with the local firefighters. What stops you from cutting out the middle man (the app), and just texting a firefighter directly? Rather than a percentage going to the app owner, the firefighter could charge you the entire amount. 🤔
Interesting and likely possible
That's what will and should happen. But that's with anything. Uber can do that, you get a guy you like or maybe 2 or 3. Cut off the app. If people use it a lot I would. But that's a way more usable thing.
They likely offer liability insurance when going through app much cheaper than full blown starting your own biz
@@fearlessreview The liability insurance is something I didn't even think of! That's totally possible.
thats sorta like saying but what about just texting the uber driver directly instead of using the app
theres a lot of creeps out there, a lot of creeps

Robert makes the most aggressive offers
um... no. just no. have you seen kevin olery's watch collection? or his CELLERS of wine collections? he gets something like 75 cents a jar from those wicked good cupcake people and they already paid him a million in royalties at least already, and thats just one of his deals. What about his "plated" deal, that sold to albertsons for 300 million dollars. He got a BIG chunk of change on that one. Its not about the percentage sometimes, but sometimes it is. Kevin only does deals where the ball is already rolling, and he can just piggyback off the success. He never invests in complete startups, or dudes with no sales. He is the most aggressive shark of all, THATS WHY THEY BROUGHT A PICTURE OF HIM IN WEARING A DRESS. Because he really is the most aggressive. that guy wouldn't give you a glass of water if you were dying of thirst unless you gave him 35% of your soul and a 3$ royalty on every hundred dollars you make for the rest of your life. For just a simple glass of water bruh
Idk I’m not a fan of Kevin’s royalties

But Lori is giving him a lot of exposure by joining the deal, so you could think of the extra 13.333% as advertising fees ig?

Yall have come out to my house a few times for different things and i just wanna say thank you, for being able to put up with my grandma, she's a handful
$72 an hour? Lol. You are going to make the firefighters lazy on their regular job. Lol
Not only that, but a lot of communities rely on volunteer firefighters. If they make $60 an hour they'll just do that full time or even 60 hours a week
The volunteer/paid firefighters sit in the firehouse and dont do much, so nice way to make some extra money

Isn't the whole deal of firefighters to be READY to answer when an emergency calls? Imagine having half of your force is at aunt jamima remodelling her house when they are needed...
They do this during their off time. They are not going to bring the fire truck to your house in case they get a call.

The only thing that confuses me is what stops someone that is not a firefighter from signing up for this.
i'm sure you would have to submit your identification/certification, or at least i would hope haha

72$ an hour for that kinda work, that's crazy!!!

I wish he gave the picture to Mr. Wonderful himself.
So the guy comes in valuing his company at:
$3.75 million, Robert makes an offer with a valuation of $1.5 million, then Robert and Lorie make a combined offer at an $900K valuation. He got played big time and none of the other sharks said anything.

"It took me ten years to do this with no advertising , I'm out". Evidently your way was not the right way!

Perfect! I have some work involves getting on the roof I need done. Firefighters have no issue being on a roof, where a regular contractor may not be so comfortable with it.
“dallas😲” mark is everyone from dallas 😭😭😭 I love him
Bro really took the phrase "No one shines brighter then me", with his teeth
$70 per hour??! Who would pay that much??? Crazy!
If you just need furniture moved, shouldn't take that long lol
It's predatory toward elderly women. They don't tolerate predatory businesses in low economic neighborhoods.
@@scorpyworpy Bake the neighbors teenage sons an apple pie throw them each a $10 spot and have them come in and do it.
@@TheFoolintherainn I kinda get where you're coming from, but just dont use the app then. If this is predatory, every handyman's job is predatory if an elderly women calls him.
@@LK25278 when you use the word "elderly" and "predatory" in the same sentence, it sort of worries me.
I think everyone should consider being a volunteer firefighter or helping out their department - we're talking about guys using their career positions to charge old ladies $70 per hour to move a couch.
I've lived with my grandparents, took care of grandma, cared for my parents in their old age -I fend it off those boiler room operations in the 1980s that were going after my dad -
there are tons of people looking to take advantage.. and they do it with a smile while they're picking their pocket
When it comes to elderly? I am extremely wary - and protective. It's sad that people are running to the side of full grown able-bodied men looking for $70 per hour to move a couch, over protecting little old ladies.
That's sad.
There's just one problem to sustaining this idea. How do they make sure the users don't connect outside of the app and totally avoid getting charged by Hidrent?
Confidentiality agreement for the firefighters. Breaking agreements are terms for non pay and termination. Clients are always going to try and save a buck
You could say the same for Uber... It's all about convenience. The app is always more convenient.
Because you’re not protected by insurance and assurance guarantees. Airtasker is very successful and already doing this
If this just uses Firefighters, they would have a very real scalability issue after no time. It would eventually dilute to “less” noble members of society
LORI IS INCREDIBLE! WOW
I work in a similar field in New Zealand where the government pays us to do elderly people's showers, shopping, medications etc. Obviously the things we are pard to do is not flexible like the app here proposes but I have literally never seen anyone of my clients with a smartphone. Most elderly people won't be able to use an app and pay online etc...
Robert has that death stare.
wow.....such original and awesome business idea. They're gonna blow it up! Good luck to all
Not original at all, read it in a book back in 90s where someone else applied the same idea to veterans and firefighters. name of the book $100 Business Startups. The difference is the technology of using the app rather than a word of mouth.
@@gabishammas7843 its not about the idea, but the excecution
It’s not original
I can't imagine many firefighters being affordable. Wow! So expensive for seniors, 70 bucks a hour?! Who can afford to pay that, and can't it be for only half a hour. Can a service provider then go off on their own to contract separately without the app?
You think labor is free?
@@alp.9672 Yes, I think labor is free.
@@dr.barrycohn5461 Hmm most contractors wont even show up for less than 50 bucks these days probably more.. maybe not if you trust anyone...so 70 is not much of a stretch especially if you getting a firefighter which is kinda cool
@@dr.barrycohn5461 This isn't Mississippi in the early 19th century bruh
@@KyleJBales So.
33.3%... ouch.....it's going to take a lot more capital than $300k
Charging elderly women $72 per hour for unskilled/barely skilled labor is predatory. Full grown men doing high school level jobs moving furniture- mowing lawns is now a landscaping career? Ridiculous.
Yeah when he said $72 an hour, that is INSANE! Just because they are firemen does NOT mean they are licensed contractors or know how to fix a leaking sink. Look how many first responders are out of shape and could not run more than 500 feet without running out of breath! Make this for verified high school or college kids, not grown men who are already receiving a high tax-payer funded salary…. $72 an hour…. Give me a break!

Barbara called and said she wants to punch this guy in the face and for those reasons she's out! 🤣 🤣 🤣
I think it's very expensive for most senior citizens, if that is your target market. I think at this price point you are forgetting who you're serving. Instead, they are being taken advantage of for your wealth.
Yeah but not only are they paying for labor work but also using the app as a service to get help from locals.
Is predatory toward elderly women
This right here has a huge upside potential of turning into a profitable Gigolo service.
Fire Fighters around the globe can use this fire Fighters usually do construction w there wierd schedules 72 high for elderly people but brilliant
He coulda got 30% man. That's 15 each they woulda said yes. He took too long but otherwise this guy is the real deal, super smart.
The fire fighters wouldn't even help me get my cat out of a tree ): he was sooo scared.
DUDE literally exact same thing happened to me. So I called a local tree service and they did it for $30 climbed up 40 feet and got her
@@neverquit5822 the tree was right next to My apt building, he ended up jumping from the tree to the building after a few hours, there was no roof access, luckily there was a maintenance ladder, I used that to climb to the top of the building and bring my cat down the ladder, I Put him in my carry case
Robert saying “it’s not enough” (now that there are 2 sharks). Mathematically it is identical (20% for 300k for 1 shark; or 10% each for 150k each, if 2 sharks); he just means “we can extract more blood from you because 2 sharks”; not that it’s not enough for each shark. The shark themselves (not merely the entrepreneur) frankly also benefits from the involvement of the other shark.
Good for them!!!!!
What a brilliant idea!!!
Barbara: I hate my neighbours, and for that reason I’m out
@Tung Jy - Barbara was not in this episode, yet you had a need to make an unfunny "I'm out" joke. 🤐

I would so many other questions than they had they jumped in to make give money way to easily . Maybe the cut it down but wowZ
Good idea
Good idea, never heard anyone curse the heroes of our fire departments.
App looks so cool until Johnny Sins shows up as a firefighter😂😂😂
The guest shark seems so arrogant, like, just because your little empire took 10 years to build doesn’t mean that his will. I hope that this guy’s business takes off! Brilliant idea. A lot of women will utilize this service lol.
I was thinking the same thing, the NextDoor guy had me rolling my eyes in this clip, though he usually comes off as pretty humble.
Who is he ?
Yeah he is very annoying and I hope he doesn't come back
What is weird when CEO has marketing expertise is asked to change the name.
$72 / hour for general labor in Tampa?
Ha!
To this day I see ads offering $11 / hour.
300k is ridiculous!!! He is definitely pocketing the majority of the funds… building an app only takes time not money unless it needs technical support which he doesn’t have as of now
This is the same as the site handy he stole the idea lol
So basically, this is another version of Task Rabbit.
Thats too much equity to give up. Dont be afraid to negotiate. The sharks will respect you for that
GOOD IDEA
Good on Kevin for doing him right
Barbara: I can sense the dark side coming from you and for that reason I’m out.
Elders have issues with tech though. That’s the only con I see if this is geared towards that community
Robert tho 😃
This is like TaskRabbit
I’ve absolutely got nextdoor ads
I admire so much what you are doing, and the truth is, I'm out - Barbera
What I’ve learned with shark tank is, if you’re given an offer don’t ever insult the shark by saying I’m gonna check what the other offers are…that’s so insulting. You should counter very carefully and chances are another shark might swoop down on that counter for you.
lol no guy wants a firefighter helping his wife out. LMAOOO
This is such a great idea that’s it’s been around for over a decade before this! It’s called “thumbtack” I can’t believe none of the sharks picked up on that like they do on other pitches.
Yeah but Hidrant focuses on firefighters, that's his calling card.
This guy didn't even ask for more cash. I would've asked to up the cash for that valuation
