    Im with you on the analysis bit. I like to experience art for that emotional impressionistic feeling that is probably impossible to really articulate anyway. Trying to analyze/explain it afterwards doesnt always interest me as much as getting the actual feeling

      Do the Saunders! It’s seriously like a free class haha. And 🥹 it’s true … also the power of Tolstoy making a snowstorm so gut wrenching and thrilling

    I'm trying to get into audiobooks, I stayed away bc I thought it would be harder to focus on the story just being told to me, but seeing audiobooks as a whole sensory experience is a cool way to view it. 😊

      Well both things are true! I started the audio book for The Marriage Portrait four times and never focused past the first chapter haha. It’s worth giving them a shot though. Listening to Bret Easton Ellis’ book The Shards was better than reading it for example

    Read Parfume and love it. Sonders is very good, too. Not to mention how great they were ,Chehov and Turgenev. If you wanted some light poetry, my suggestion is Pushkin. You are reading mostly very good books.

    So you read Chekhov's "Gooseberries," which I would have recommended to you for this summer, after reading about it in a Saunders story?! 😸😁 Then I'd better hurry up and recommend Turgenev's "First Love" and "Torrents of Spring," both of which are warm weather novels but at the rate you're going you will finish them by St. Patrick's 😁😸

    • @bookpogo
      @bookpogo  4 місяці тому +1
