Beautiful. You’ve really changed my perspective on the color orange, which I have not historically been a fan of. I personally would prefer to see the first coat of finish go on in real time, at least part of it. It doesn’t take long and it’s such a dramatic moment when the glossy shine emerges and the colors all pop.
Ok, I will slow it down next time, thanks 😊
Has an orange icon😂😂
@@gibgailey7948 Shrug. It’s a default, and honestly it looks red on my monitor (which is an iPad, so I’m not claiming the colors are necessarily accurately displayed, but that’s what I’m looking at).
The combination of orange and maple looks fantastic together
Thanks 🙏
This a beautiful bowl! The orange compliments the burl very nicely! The flaming in the resin really makes it!
Totally! Thanks 😊
ORANGE!
That one is by far my favorite!!!
Thanks 🙏
The flaming is amazing! That’s one great bowl…and I’m not known as an orange person. Who could not love that burl?
Thanks 😊
I never get tired of your videos. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching!
She's getting a flaming BIRTHDAY Burle indeed very nice work. 😎👍👍👍👍🎂
Thanks 🙏
Always always ALWAYS share the bonus clips !!!!
Lol, ok thanks!
Gorgeous orange flame bowl. I think just about anyone would be thrilled to receive this as a birthday present. I know I would.
Great! Thanks 😊
I'm always glad when you core the bowls. Other channels just waste all that wood/resin.
Thanks 😊
You never have to thank me for my patience! I can (and have) watch you all day!!!
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
I'm not much of an orange person, but that's absolutely gorgeous!!!
It compliments the wood perfectly!!
Thanks 😊
What a beautiful bowl. What I love about the resin projects is that they allow smaller pieces of beautiful wood to be used to make a far larger piece.
Totally! Thanks!
STUNNING, the colour orange can be so underrated, but to me it's pure warmth, log fires in the cold. Then cool fresh Orange juice in the heat, you can almost smell the citrus groves. Th pumpkin patches in the autumn.😍💖 Thanks for letting me see the snow it is truly beautiful❄❄ stay safe well and warm.😁
Ive got lots of snow to give away, lol. Thanks 😊
The shoveling interlude made me thankful that I live in Missouri😊
I didn’t think it snowed there, lol. Thanks
@@SpragueWoodturning it does but lasts only a few days to a week
Not usually a big fan of orange, but man you may have changed my mind. This one is a burst of sunshine
Thanks for watching
Can only be described as beautiful Jim, that orange flame really pops.
Agreed, thanks!
Didn't know if I was going to like the orange. But you made a believer out of me...
Thanks so much!
What a Orange Beauty, the colors are popping out, have a nice weekend Jim and family
Same to you! Thanks 🙏
It looks like it's made of lava, which is gorgeous. A really beautiful project.
Thanks!
Fantastic bowl! Love the orange with the burl. The birthday women will be happy. Cheers
Hope so, thanks 🙏
That is one stunning bowl! Thank you for sharing this
Thanks for watching!
A new Sprague video. How else would I know it's Friday? Yet another beauty Jim.
Thanks 🙏
Before this video I would not have even entertained the color orange for a bowl. This turned out much better than I would have ever suspected. As always, great work.
Thanks for watching!
I love the colour on this one, it works well with the wood. That is a very lucky lady receiving this bowl!
I think so too, thanks!
The orange makes a beautiful bowl.
Thanks
This orange colour is stunning! It would look great with a really dark wood, too. I think I´m in love. 🥰
Thanks for watching!
Very dynamic. Traditional burl with contacting cheery orange swirls.
Thanks 😊
Pumpkin orange turned out fabulous! I do love the flame look.
Thanks 😊
This piece came out great. She is going to love it. I like that you explained what/why you are doing in the steps.
Thanks 😊
Not only do I not mind the ads, I’ll even click on the ads! (If I like the channel enough. And this channel I like a lot.) This video makes me really want to try turning a piece of burl for the first time. I’m hitting my favourite wood store tomorrow (it’s called Langevin Forest) and imma see if they have any.
Like I said in the video, it tough to work with the end products can be pretty amazing! Thanks for watching!
Not normally a great lover of orange, but it really works with the burr and the 'flaming'.
Thanks 🙏
Love this bowl!! So bright and the "movement" over the pearlized streaks just makes the piece! Congrats to you, Jim, and happy birthday to your friend Carolyn!!
Thanks 😊
It is indeed a bowl on fire 🔥 excellent work. The birthday girl must have a very bright interior of her house!
I think so too! Thanks
Love the orange flame, and seemed reasonably easy to get out of the mold.
It wasn’t too bad, lol. Thanks
Cindy and I approve! I'm normally not an orange person, but with the flaming in the resin it looks fantastic. Cindy say's if it was hers she'd be using it at Halloween to hand out the candy. I though in would make a nice cereal bowl!!!!
That’s a lot of cereal, lol. Thanks
I'm in love with the orange. Turned into a beautiful bowl.
Thanks for watching!
Orange is one of my favorite colors! This is absolutely beautiful!!
Thanks 😊
Absolutely stunning. One lucky lady. Awesome job.
It would be fun seeing you playing with your toy. You have come a long way from when you first got it.
💕😊💕🇺🇸
Thanks ❄️🚜❄️🥶🥶
I love that pearl color. Just a beautiful piece.
Thanks 😊
that burl looks like islands in lava. Spectacular
Thank you very much
The one piece reminds me of a sea sponge in a way. The focus on the resin this week was a nice touch with that color. I must say I am a fan of the pearl pigments. They have such a great look to them, and as always your attention and care with each project you do has made this bowl amazing.
Thanks!
You live in a beautiful area, Jim. And the bowl isn’t bad either. I am eager to watch all your videos all the way through, adverts included 🌞
Awesome, thanks for watching!
wicked piece the orange with the texture of the wood pops the piece very nicely!
It’s a good contrast! Thanks
I guess there is a bowl for all occasions! Love watching your videos. I recently took a bowl during class and the instructor referenced you in it about your glue block method. Seeing I have been watching you for a while I knew exactly what he was talking about.
Sure is, lol. Where are you located? Glad to see the words getting around, thanks
@@SpragueWoodturning I live in Rhode Island but I took the class in Massachusetts
The tractor snow removal made me laugh, because I’d just told my ex to look out for that same bucket fitting for his Massey so he could plow snow-especially around his barn. Showed him one of your old vids when you first got your IH.
Lol, thanks 😊
It's crazy that the More you mix the pearl the more it flames out like that. You would think it would be the exact opposite. I also wanted to say that as there's Art in the making of this Beautiful bowl, there's a certain art in the Plowing as well 😉! Love this piece
Thanks 😊🚜🚜🚜🚜
I just wanted to stop lurking and actually drop you a message. I watch your videos from start to finish, my wife now sits and watches them with me. I love how instructional you make them without being boring. One of these days I will be able to afford a lathe and actually give this a go myself, there's something quite relaxing about watching you turn a chunk of wood into something both functional and beautiful. Thanks for amazing content, keep up the good work.
Awesome, thanks for watching!
I will NOT become a "turner"... I just TOTALLY relax watching and listening because you're an EXCELLENT TEACHER ❤️🙌
Jim: that is a very nice bowl. She is lucky to get it as a b'day present. The colour is vivid and the burl swirls are wonderful. It really does look like a fire in the bowl. Yes I would like to see your snow plowing video. I feel robbed that we did not get enough snow this year (your neighbor.) Take care and stay safe.
Yup, it’s getting warmer and I’m not complaining, lol. Thanks
Beautiful, breath taking. I like how you work...
Thanks 🙏
That's a BEAUTIFUL orange bowl, Jim!! 😃 Another great job as usual!! 😃
Thanks 😊
@@SpragueWoodturning You're very welcome, Jim!! 😃
Who would of thought pumpkin orange was so beautiful 😊
Thank you so much!
The orange really works well with that burl. Thanks for the update on the vase. :)

I think this bowl is Cool!!! I am a great fan of orange, and you did it great! The swirls and curls of the burl, are truly enhanced by the pearl! What fun! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
My favorite color is orange 🍊 so of course this bowl,is absolutely amazing ♥️
Perfect, thanks 😊
I love the flame in the orange plays well with burl. usually prefer the cooler shades of colour but this is a really nice orange
Thanks 😊
I think that this is an amazing bowl that you have created. Fantastic work COBBA. From Western Australia. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for watching
I'm not a wood turner but I love watching your turn beautiful pieces.
Awesome, thanks!

Thanks Mark from Detroit!
Must say I actually like the orange, great work as usual Jim
I don’t think I’d like it so much too, thanks 🙏
Nice to see the Horta weighing down that wood!
Thanks
This orange is beautiful!! Nice work!!
Thank you very much!
You are right. It does look like it's on fire! I haven't used my snow blower once this year. Mostly because my son stole my car so there wasn't any poit. BUT, beautiful work as always. I'm always impressed!
Kid will be kids, I know, we’ve got three, lol. Thanks
Jim, I like the new format where you give us a quick preview of what’s to come before the river. 👏👏👏 Also, thank you for the vase update. I thought you were going to change the profile in addition to the finish. Maybe I misunderstood 😜
No, I just wanted to correct the wavy finish that was on it. Thanks 😊
I love orange it’s my favorite color so you know I love the bowl
Thanks for watching
ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFUL
Thanks!
Hi there, I’m gobsmacked at the process and results you obtain in your projects. Im new to your channel and so glad I found you. I especially like your narration during the project as it is a great help to new turner’s. I’ve been a woodworker for over 60 years and have just started into turning. I plan to go through your previous videos and hope to learn more through them.
Best Regards
Fred Thomas in Skokie IL.
Welcome aboard! Thanks!
This is a beautiful bowl. Orange is not really my favorite color, but you made me like it more with this creation.
Great, thanks 😊
Gorgeous bowl! I love the Pumpkin mica and of course the burl. I also love that you never have hard cuts in your resin bowls, no straight edges or 90 degree cuts. It just looks so much better without them. I’d love to see some bonus footage.
I certainly try to limit them but sometimes it’s unavoidable, thanks 🙏
What a lovely birthday gift!
Agreed! Thanks for watching
I couldn’t for love of me click of this until it’s finished. Absolutely beautiful. You are very talented. You make me want to rush out and buy a lathe , but I just can’t as I live in a motor home, very frustrating.
Got any woodworking clubs in your area? That might be an option, thanks
Well, another beautiful project, Jim. I love to see makers using a coring system. It always seems like such a waste not to on a large-ish project.
Agreed! Thanks!
The name definitely fits.
Thanks 🙏
Hi Jim,
wondwerful demonstration and turning tips as usual. I was surprised (happily) with the orange that really lights the maple burl. I was not surprised by the three finishing coats, it always turns out to be three for me whatever the product is. Volunteer for the extra footage also. Appreciated the comments on sanding speeds.
See you next week.
Thanks for watching!
used to like only purple but now must consider flame orange-awesome
You must! Thanks
Wow Jim!! Beauuuuuteeeeful bowl!! And it’s the same color as the belly on that brook trout in the bottom right corner of your intro video!! Cool!!
Lol, thanks
Jim it’s fabulous I look forward to seeing your projects every week it’s inspiring 👍
Thanks 🙏
Wow! That really comes to life with the sanding and buffing and then explodes with the finish! Looks fantastic. Thanks for passing on your technique.
Thanks for watching!
Orange is always amazing! Looking forward to the Amazon.
Thanks 🙏
I heard about getting a divorce bowl for smashing, but usually you get those made out of glass or ceramic so it shatters easily.
I'm thinking that was a different kind of divorce bowl you were asked for.
I'm trying to just let the ads play out because you really do deserve to get paid for your hard work. These are very informative and entertaining videos. And this is something that can entertain me while I'm working on something else that's not as engaging, like folding laundry, organizing a new pic dump from my phone onto the computer, making 9 million phone calls to a government number to get the one that actually lets me into the waiting queue...etc. I've got a lot of time to kill right now, so I might as well spend it being entertained, watching a work of art miracle into life!
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
Like the orange color.... another great bowl....
Thanks 🙏
Jim didn't think pumpkin orange could turn out so cool be but with the Pearl in it just awesome it does look like flames just looks good with that burl color great job
It sure does, thanks!
Hi Jim, what a gorgeous bowl! It most certainly does look like fire. For not mixing resin that long, looks perfect to me! Love watching your videos and projects! Thanks again from some non turners as well as turners!
Thanks for watching!
Looks like a million bucks! Great job!
Thanks 🙏
I have to agree with you that is a very gorgeous full whoever is getting it is very lucky
Thanks 😊
This is gorgeous bowl truly does look as though fire is all around it. Great job as always. Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much!
Always love a good bonus! And it was cool to see the wide shot of you walking through your shop too, so we know what you’re working in.
That way my mess was displayed, haha. Thanks
Jim I love anything to do with wood, wood turning is so fascinating. Just awesome and stunning this bowl. Sometimes I watch something more than once.
Great! Thanks!
@@SpragueWoodturning my husband is from Holland and Orange is their color.
Love burl. So beautiful.
Thanks 😊
Gorgeous! I really like maple combo’s.
Thanks 🙏
That bowl is perfect for halloween! I don't know if you people up north in the land of maple syrup have Halloween too. But down here, it's a fun night. That's a nice shallow bowl and little children can reach in and take some candy. I'd put packets of Skittles and M&Ms and SweetTarts for them and I think they would be dazzled by that beautiful fire orange bowl.
We sure do, lol. Thanks
Being from Big Orange 🍊 Tennessee, I love it and the flaming orange resin. Like the extra video ❄️
Thanks Jim, I really appreciate it!
Lovely bowl! Like the. Way you lay out the pieces.
Thanks 🙏
Absolutely beautiful bowl. Love the oranges.
Thanks 😊
Love the orange color
Thanks 😊
