Thank you for the help! I thought it would be really hard and confusing but your instructions where so precise and slow and easy to see in the video! It only took me like 5 minuets to do the whole thing and it was so simple! Thank you so much for the help and awesome instructions
Lol. A lil late but now with the 2018 bikes there is really nice affordable bikes such as Sunday blueprint kink curb framed impact with some crappy parts but you can exchange for a really good price but any ways there is a lot of affordable bike now so you should get lookin
if your running brakes I recommend the fly bikes brake cable its perfect if you run a 20.5 or 20.75 top tube , no need for trimming or anything and last about a year , odyssey and animal cables tend to snap or break from my experience
Thank you Alfredo this helped a lot 🙏. Have one question tho. You said the brake pads should be slightly angled into the rim. How do I do that mines are straight. I’d appreciate a response or if anybody in this comment section can help please send me instructions
Here's an odd question maybe: is there a way to rejuvenate og brake pads? I've got a 1989 dyno compe that's all original. I'd love to keep it that way. The pads have plenty of life left and won't get much use. I'm just wondering about how to keep them from dry rotting and falling apart.
Holy shit, I was just about to ask someone in real life to help me install brakes because I didn't know shit but... You uploaded the video in time, homie! Lmao
Let's just say I thought brakeless was cool so I decided to take my brake off but it turned out I had to take my grip off to get the lever off so with no thought I broke it off and it turns out I don't like brakeless now I gotta buy a new brake :/
1:53 Is there a way to get rid of that tab connected to the frame or would I have to get my welder mate to do an operation on my bike and potentially damage it?
Probably worth adding threadlocker to those small bolts for the cable guide etc. The pre-applied stuff is no good. Good video though, great to cover 'simple' topics in detail.
Quick question. I just got my brakes haven't used brakes for years. I have removable 990 mounts. I threw them on the frame and put my new odyssey evo 2 brakes but when I tighten the bolt on the spring it doesn't fully tighten down. Idk what I did wrong any tips?
haha dont even need to watch this one, was taught brakes and gyros by some dudes who are masters of brake set ups, still always like to see anyone elses tips and tricks.
Alfredo Mancuso haha, no worries, besides if i didnt scope out how other people do shit id never have figured out how to do certain shit myself, or figure out tricks to make things easier. also next time you redo your brakes try using v brake noodles up at the bends for the lower cables with derailer inner lines, its alot smoother. also if you want your cables to run tighter besides just using the v brake noddles, you can do this www.pinkbike.com/photo/4413914/ keeps the bends alot tighter and the cables closer to the frame. not sure if youve tried that set up before but its a hell of alot smoother and nicer looking, and though it might just be me, it keeps you from accidentally getting the cables caught on stuff and damaged, i know i caught my cables at least once while trying to learn whips and eating shit.
mcisme what do u mean he’s saying they they hate him because he’s sowing u how to fix ur bike rather then taking it to them and paying a load of money u dope
Hello, Alfredo! Great video as always. I have always wanted to ask you this question, but for some reason I never took my time to do it. I am 6 feet 5 inches, ride a 20.75 BMX bike, can manual for a long time, but can't get height on my bunny hop! I have tried hours and hours and still the same result. I visit the gym on a regular basis and I could say I am quite muscular (87kg). My bench press is 250-260 lbs (X4), My deadlift is 190(X8), Squats 200lbs(x6). I can jump quite high, my vertical leap is above average! But my bunny hop is capped out at 17 inches(on a good day) The thing is I have a lot of power both in my arms and legs (especially in my legs), but I struggle to do the bunny hop. I have watched almost every single video on youtube in the search of the perfect fit( Onsomeshit, adam lz you name it). My efforts are tremendous, but the results are nowhere to be seen! I am desperate if I don't learn in the next month I am selling my bike :(
Hey Naruto, it really doesn't have much to do with size or strength, its all about technique. You have to practice it every day and get the wheel tucked up to your butt and make sure to yank the front end up as high as you can!
Hey, my Haro Boulevard 2018 front brake handle hex allen screw will not budge. It is very tight and tried using a drill but no luck. Then used a star head screw because the screw started rounding out. Help?
How do you replace the actual handbrake assembly? The actual handbrake got smashed. How do I remove the gear control, that’s blocking the brake assembly from sliding off, that sits between the hand brake and handle bar?
When looking down at them the crank arm that's on the left goes first. If your brakes are squeaky you can clean your rim, or sand your brake pads down a tiny bit.
Hope you respond: So i managed to remove all of it but i can't remove the lever and i think that's because it's made of steel.. i removed the bolt but i can't remove the lever, help me
I just cut the black, brake cable things with some scissors which takes me about an hour then I take off the brakes and then I'm done. Only takes about 3,4 days :)
Trey Mango depends on brake pads. Most new bikes have hard brake pads that u have to sand down a bit to soften them up. It also depends on the rim whether its matte black, or gloss, or anodized etc. if your brakes are ruining your rim somethings wrong or your rim has simply just worn down
NoamClan I ended up using water to get the grip off, then I let the water dry out, them in took that thing off then i used hairspray to get it back on. Hope that helps. Also the hairspray drys hella fast so be quick lol
My cable doesn’t fit in the cable guide on the bottom right now I’m just taping the fucker right up against the guide but this won’t work long term new to brakes what should I do
can someone please please help me, I've put my back wheel back on, and now my left brake is rubbing on my rim and I can't make it stop. how do stop this from happening?!
I legit spent 2 hours refreshing the video to be first. So relieved

I'm getting a kink curb in all black color way and taking off the brakes and the bike alone is only 279.99
Subrosa Tiro XL is what i want to but for my first bmx
if your running brakes I recommend the fly bikes brake cable its perfect if you run a 20.5 or 20.75 top tube , no need for trimming or anything and last about a year , odyssey and animal cables tend to snap or break from my experience
So dialed for sure!

What if your bike frame doesn't have the welded bungs for the rear brakes? Is there a kit for something like that scenario?

Great vid. Gyro install next?
not next Thursday, but the following!
Thank you Alfredo this helped a lot 🙏. Have one question tho. You said the brake pads should be slightly angled into the rim. How do I do that mines are straight. I’d appreciate a response or if anybody in this comment section can help please send me instructions
You can use something like a quarter and put it on the front half of the brake against the wheel so that it can create that tilt
Here's an odd question maybe: is there a way to rejuvenate og brake pads? I've got a 1989 dyno compe that's all original. I'd love to keep it that way. The pads have plenty of life left and won't get much use. I'm just wondering about how to keep them from dry rotting and falling apart.

Matthew Laws same
Yeah is there any way I can get it off without breaking it?
@@liammathus take the grip off.
Trust me going brakeless is cool but if you dont have much experience with breakless it might be a problem to get used to ripping your shoes apart
The harp midway had a really dialed high quality straddle that is more wore like than cord like and raps around the stride twice
Do you have a Tech Thursday for gyros?

I have this bike, but with all aftermarket parts, the only thing stock is the sprocket, chain, back wheel, and frame.
Sounds rad man!

What brake lugs do you need for a hyper maniac frame

How about bottom mount brakes which arm goes on first and how to make the brakes a little quieter
When looking down at them the crank arm that's on the left goes first. If your brakes are squeaky you can clean your rim, or sand your brake pads down a tiny bit.
