Awesome help video, well done man! Haven’t installed u-brakes all these years. Seat question: which seat is on this bike? Looking for a good one like that.
Thanks Dan! this is the stock seat that came on the 2017 WTP Trust and is listed as -WETHEPEOPLE “Trust” thick padded pivotal seat. I hope that helps! -Rob
Yes, Does your factory brake mount kit have brake post that thread into the frame or does it sit on with really long bolts that slide through the brake post?
hi 👋 I just got a used bike for my son and the u break is not working because the u break is missing a piece.its a BMX bike and I'm not sure what u break brand is good enough for this bike.if anyone could help will be great .thanks in advance.
Hey ! is it normal my brake caliper could touch my rear tire ? never set up brake (before brakeless) and i've doubts... eventjouhi've changed my rear tire (before 2.40 and now 2.125 and always same thing... it's only setting or problem ? tanks ;) nice video ;) useful
It depends on the brakes caliper. I run a 2.3 tire in the back and my salt calipers don't hit my tire. What kind of brakes are you running? You may need different ones.
@@thebasementbikeshop2336 My rear brake caliper is Salt Echo chrome. I use 2.125 tire. I try to move spacers at first. I f I add 1 chain link my wheel is almost out of axe of frame :/
Just came across your Channel would love to see how to adjust these breaks I'm a total noob I have Odyssey Springfield's I think they are the same ones I bought a Sunday high c came with it already installed just need to adjust where the pads go and the pull
Question. My bike Cult devotion 2020 model. The wheels are 2.5" width. When I got the bike it was brakeless, but since I just can't ride in my city without a brake, I wanted to put brakes on it. On the first go, It seemed that the brakes touch the wheel.. Everything is standard and made for the bike.. So does anyone know?
I do lube my post. I thought i showed that. I must not have. I would like to redo my all my videos now that i see all the comments of things i missed. I don't lube my cable anymore. I buy coated cable and run em. I've found when i lubed my cables, they pulled great at first but the lube collects dirt and i have problems much sooner than i did when i didn't lube them at all. Thanks for the input
Just lost a brake mount tonight. Flying down road in the dark, I thought my cable had snapped, turned out that one lug came loose, I heard it hit the ground but couldn't find it in the dark 💀 I'm not sure which brake mount it is, wether it's bolt through or thread in type. I will pull the one off tomorrow to figure it out. I only just got my Ubrake working perfect with a Vbrake style conversion, removing the straddle gubbins completely and just using a Vbrake noodle on the end of cable direct to the brake. So much better! Well it was till it fell apart 😂
I seem to be having problems with my Odyssey Evo 2.5 brake and wondered if you could help me/or experienced something similar before. The brake arms are rubbing against each other which creates a horrible grinding feeling. Both brake mount tightened down fully as well as the actual brake itself.
Just got a new frame. I have threaded holes at the very back for brakes to go onto but I do not have a hole under the top tube for the wire guides? Any ideas?
Almost all bmx brakes made now should fit over a 2.0. The problem is finding brakes to fit over a 2.2 or a 2.3. I run a 2.2 rear tire and the salt brakes fit over it easily
my mounts are on the top side of the rear fork also my guides on the bottom side of the top tube neither are threaded. Will this still mount on my bike?? It is a redline frame from around 2005
As long as your mounts are ubrake mounts and not canti/Vbrake mounts. The best way to tell is ubrake mounts will line up more with your tire.. V brake mounts will line up with your spokes.
Fishheadmandible thank you but my frame Fitbikeco is like 3 years old and had no mount or hole at all but I think I’m liking brakeless better so that’s good thanks for the help
I just bought a brand new mongoose and there are no springs whatsoever in the rear breaks. I pull the brake lever and they just stay there. It's driving me insane.
I do not think brakeless is better. I think people that ride brakeless are better and i have a lot of respect for them. I have always run brakes. I believe it's safer when learning tricks or dealing with traffic on the road or in a skatepark. I think, even if you want to learn tricks without using brakes, you should still have brakes on your bike.
@@kanekrishna3375 if you are referring to the spring between the brake arms, yes you need it. It should have come with it. Contact the company if you didn't get it with the brakes.
@@kanekrishna3375 you wouldn't need it if you have a cable housing stop on the frame. You just have to be more precise with your adjustment. Otherwise you can pick up one at any bike shop or online cheap.
Tried adjusting my brakes for years and thought they were crap. Watched this and now they work perfectly. So thank you very much.
Thanks brother, been 30 years since I messed with a BMX.

Came for the how-to, stayed for the chill beats.
