The Unmistakable Sounds of The Foxbody Mustang 5

- If there is one thing that sets the Fox body Mustang apart from every other car ever made, its the unmistakable sounds they make that every ford owner can recognize from well over 1000 yards! This is a a conglomerate of clips that I have put together of both my 1992 Ford Foxbody Notchback 5.0, and my 1991 Ford Foxbody Convertible 5.0. The exhaust stats on the two cars are as follows:
1992 Foxbody Notchback:
- BBK long tube headers
- @bbkperformance O/R H-pipe
- Flowmaster 44 Series Cat Back
1991 Foxbody Convertible:
- BBK unequal length short tube headers
- O/R H-pipe
- Magnaflow Street Series Catback

Why does the new 5.0 sound so different, it's pretty much the same motor right?
@@mattjohnston7686 No not exactly. The foxbody 5.0 is a pushrod motor and the new 5.0 is a modular motor which has overhead cams and no pushrods amongst other differences.

I am much more of a GM guy than Ford but I will not deny that the fox body 5.0 ford engine sound is the best sounding V8 I have ever heard. Maybe its because they were the cars when I was in HS but sounded way better than any IROC 305 or 350 at the time ...its.like not even close !......I think they sound way better than the current coyote 5.0 too.

See my thumbnail. That's my 92 LX. It has straight pipe Magnaflow Competition X-pipe exhaust. Sounds absolutely awesome. Lots of cracking and popping when you let off the accelerator. No better sounding car IMO.

Im a chevy guy thru and thru, but there is no better sound than a fox with no cats and flows. It makes me want to get a bone stock fox just for that reason, just to cruise and listen to that sound.

Nice compilation love the LX Flowmaster's sound but not as much a fan of the GT's sound. I'm enamored with the flowmaster sound and if you can't get enough of foxbody revs, check out the video Mustang Week 2017 ///Foxbody Cruise . Almost 10 minutes of foxes leaving a parking lot for the cruise nothing else. Its my goto background sound when I'm not feeling motivated.

HI there. Yes it is a LX Coupe. Back in 1999 I (I've had the car since I was 17...), I wanted the car to look less like the "grocery getter" and more like a GT. That said, I painted and installed the full Xenon body kit on it and it has been on the car ever since.

Why did Ford change the sound. It was beautiful and it worked. It's like Harley changing their sound. It don't make no sense if it works and it's not broken don't fix it

I used to cream my pants when I heard a mustang at 17 in 1993 I just cracked 10k a month salary I think it’s time to drop a big bag of cash on a low mile under 5k mile white lx with a sunroof and factory trac lok 3.08 axle
