Ive owned my coupe since 96 .. alot of ppl get bored with their stang and trade it off … i get bored with mine and id change the gear .. maybe change the exhaust ..tint the windows change the wheels .. add more hp …i was always doing something to keep it fresh to me … now here i am gonna be 50 this summer i still have the same car and i love it the same as when i first laid my eyes on it … i cant wait to get back on it and button it up n take off again !!
I agree never liked turndowns or cutoffs before the axel but with these year gts with ground effects don't look good with tail pipes imo it is what it is
Wow sounds freaking awesome, a very more deeper sound as she is chopping down trees. Man when you feel the rumbly chopp at a light, it will put a smile on your face!
I quite often go back and forth from tails to dumps. The thing that puts me back to tails is when I get tired of the drone. Then when I want the mean sound I go neck to dumps. As far as dumps go I'm always partial to the tried and true 2 chamber flows. Tailpipes give a nice refined raspy sound. When it comes to tails it's always a 2 chamber flowaster type system for me. At age 50, I'm keeping it old school.
You can smell that fuel too it gets on you like body spray lol. I had them on a 95. Was like that when I bought it ended up throwing some tailpipes on it.
I think on a GT the turndowns are good, but I'd want them as far back as I could. Dumps are always so dang loud that they give me a headache. For LX's, still love the stock stainless pipes. Still have them on mine, but with a Dr. Gas X pipe and two chamber Flowmasters .
The red GT in this video in my opinion looks amazing!!! 🤤 My dream setup is the stance of this car, the clean original looks and the pony wheels. Color matching stripe in the lower panel works well with this color. The 16" ponies were a big reason I first fell in love with my car. The 17s' sort of put me off at first when they came out but with this car it pushed me over the fence! Sorry off topic about your car being featured
Always preferred pipes myself but she sounds mean for sure. Just had my ‘93 Cobra exhaust properly redone and welded up by a local welding artist - all 304 stainless and I couldn’t do it justice. My booger welds held it together but it hung way too low and tails were so close to bumper cover that it made me cringe to drive it (car was freshly painted by me couple years ago)… picking it up in a couple days and based on pics it’s artwork.
Love me some turn down noises , I love it .I ve got my exaust turned out in front of the rear tires in between the sub frame connectors and the Cal-tracs. All it is is long tubes ,x pipe, race bullets turned out on each side and it sounds really good and loud but not bad on the inside with drone. Had turn downs with cheap ebay knockoffs but they didnt look like i was getting the full 3" of exaust flow on the inside so i put the straight thru bullets on. The ebays did sound badass though not gonna lie
Permatex Ultra Copper silicone... is the shiznit for exhaust gaskets and sealing surfaces. Just put a thin coat on the sealing areas. I like the, with tailpipes sound best.
I do prefer turndowns over tailpipes from the outside. Inside they both sound good. Biggest thing for me why I’m trying to add tailpipes to some of my trucks is to keep fumes out of the cab especially with the ac on. The drone is worse too with dumps but man do they sound mean from the outside
She sounds wicked. I have a 2.5 BBK H-pipe with SpinTech 9000’s and it is obnoxiously loud. But the Anderson N-51HR sounds so dang good coming out of them. Then when you open it up, it’s just crazy loud 😂 I love it.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY it really does. Idk if it was just the sound of the exhaust after I put turn downs on it, or what, but it definitely seemed like it gained a couple HP.
I ran turndowns in my teenage years but that drone is f**** terrible. If your gonna drive it alot, I'd keep the tailpipes. If you're worried about killing hp, run a dual 3" system, it'll flow all you need.
Ran my fox with both. Did prefer the tails but my car was a lx with the pretty polished tips. But turn downs is so easier to deal with but droans a lot at highway speed. If you like the turn down sound I’d run some race bullets instead of Mac’s or flows.
🔔😎🇺🇸 I went from turndowns to tailpipes, no other changes, and instantly, instantly felt like I dropped 15/15. Didn't really sound much different inside either. I'm just about to order quieter mufflers and do 3" turndowns. BTW I like the look of LX pipes.👍😎
I doubt it lost power ecsp that much going to tailpipes from turndown. Could possibly be placebo effect where it isn't as aggressive sounding so feels like it isn't as fast who knows. Hard for me to beleive there'd be that much difference in performance unless you put like 2 inch tails on it or something
I love how fast that cam hits. I like a turn down till I'm driving down the freeways. What's a nice deep sounding muffler with tailpipes? I have super 40s or 44s on my car now with tailpipes. But it's hollow or tinney sounding. I would love a low rumble without the drone.
The turndowns do sound awesome. We must be on the same wavelength, because I can't remember the last video in which I heard that many ducks, and on the same day that I've been dropping F bombs all over the place, which isn't exactly like me.
I have the Flowmaster American Thunder catback system on my '88 GT and I like the roar they produce. But I've been wondering what I'd hear if I went with the turndowns. When it comes out of storage, I'll give it a shot.!
Have You ever tried the 3" tail pipes that You can get from the aftermarket ? They are not as restrictive as the 2.5" pipes and in My opinion sound very nice and You don't get that dreaded drone or as much of it . Great content Thank You please keep up the amazing updates and work ! Thanks again ! 🇺🇲 🇵🇷 🦊 👍
Tailpipes are still tailpipes. They can never replace the raw angry sound dumps make, been there and tried to do that. Dumps are the heavy champ when it comes to that angry sound.
I think flowmaster with tailpipes sounds best. Mine had flowmasters with turndowns when I 1st got it and changed asap sounded to drowny inside the car.
I love the way turndowns sound until i have to drive it over 20 miles. Lol. Need to let ya drive the car we just put the motor in and see what you think.
Hey Brew2L! I like the sound of the turn downs better! Much deeper and meaner sound for sure! Also, are the tail lights on the carbon Fox the original ones? They look different to me for some reason. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Motown/Dearborn home of the Detroit Muscle.
Eventually, for sound purposes, my plan is to run spintech pro street 9000 mufflers to turn downs. I know you went over this before but I'm still up in the air about a camshaft. I like the sound a B-cam gives off but I also want a bit of performance in my cam as well. Thoughts on this one brother?
Honestly a performance focused cam vs b cam the power difference will not be noticeable unless you’ve got tons of supporting mods to make the difference a performance cam over b might make 10-15 more Hp maybe 20 more tq will not be an insane difference
Hey man I have a question about a foxbody, is there an email I can contact you at? Banging my head against wall trying to figure out whats wrong with it. Its a 1993 cobra, intermittenly dies, will not restart unless you cycle the key. It is pulsing the injectors but no spark. New tfi module, new wires, plugs etc. Cycle the key and it fires right up with zero hesistation. I am not loosing fuel pressure, everything is still powered up. It just dies like you turn the key off. Any advice on where to go? Finding a factory cobra ecm is impossible
You should take a hole saw and run the tailpipes through the bumper cover, or just notch out the bottom 😀... Totally kidding I hate that 😆 You may mention that horrible idea in the video, I'm commenting right after you showed how the old pipes are melting the bumper cover
i like turn downs but i like the look of the tips on the fox the factory look man it makes the car i just got a 88 5.0 the the dude had tips that come out the back as doubles lol two on each side and its killing meh every time i look at it lol hate it so ima do turn downs or order factory not sure i got flows on it to so but love your cars ive had about 10 mustangs over the years i started watching your vids because this car i got is having a issue when you first start it so trying to figure that out!!!!!
Personally. I love the sound of Tail pipes with classic Flowmaster. This is the sound I remember growing up . The turndown sound is not for me.
Nothing like a foxbody with H pipe, no cats and 40 Series Flowmasters
It's a more drag style setup, for sure
Same. I tried turndowns and it lasted all of a couple days. Put the tailpipes back. Just wasn’t for me.
Turndowns have never sounded good to me either, I don’t get why some guys like the sound, but to each their own I guess 🤷🏻♂️
I agree never liked turndowns or cutoffs before the axel but with these year gts with ground effects don't look good with tail pipes imo it is what it is
Man she sounds awesome, sucks that cameras never do it justice either lol always so much better in person.
Thanks bro.. the cameras never pick up the audio very well.
Nothing wrong with turndowns on a Fox, but that tailpipe with flowmasters is 🔥🐺
I have Flowmaster with turndowns and I’ll tell you it sounds incredible
Oh, and newer subscriber. NEO Mustangs sent me. Binge watching the older videos to get up to speed. Love the Channel and content!!!!!
Brother those turndowns sound NASTY!! The Carbon Fox is doing some heavy breathing!!💯👊🏾
Thank ya OG! Yeah it’s breathing a lot better now 🗣️

I really like the Black Widow Venom 250 mufflers I added a couple years ago
Brother, I have that same 3 inch Mac Pro Chamber combined with the classic 2 chamber Flowmaster with Tail pipes. Go check mines out. Quite unique
Always loved the sound of the v8 pulse beating off the ground with turn downs.
Tint the 3rd taillight. Sounds awesome
The Carbon Fox sounds SICK! Personally, I love the tail pipe sound . However, you can feel that rumble at the stop lights with the turndowns.
You can smell that fuel too it gets on you like body spray lol. I had them on a 95. Was like that when I bought it ended up throwing some tailpipes on it.
Much respect for your enthusiasm for ford Motorsport. ❤
Thank you 🙏
I couldn't afford the tail pipes when I bought my Flows so I ran turndowns. People thought it was faster than it was by the sound lol
🤣😎

Loved the way it souded with the tail pipes
I absolutely loved the way the MAC pro chamber used to sound in my P.I. head car !!!!
I prefer tail pipes. No fumes at stop sign.
Love the video
Had turn downs on my high school ride and loved it. I might go that route kick up some dust!! Great video.
Ya, hate the dust....but.....

O/R X 2 chamber 40 series and tail pipes is KING! Imo dumps are drone and bass monsters without the 5.0 tone...
I have 2 chamber Flowmasters with tailpipes on my 1989 Notch. Sounds great.
F yeah!! Turn Downs sound so much better.
I switched from classic 2 chambers to flowmaster outlaw mufflers. They sound real good. Also running mac long tubes & a mac pro chamber.
I've got turndowns on mine, I think the drone is worth it because it sounds soooooo good.
Sounds awesome. I favor the turn downs on mine also
Good content on all his videos. Seems to know his way around a foxbody for sure. To bad he can't be reached by a local
I really do appreciate that! But.. I enjoy my privacy I hope everyone can understand and appreciate that.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY I do brother, but my coupe is sick and needs help!!! lol
Permatex Ultra Copper silicone... is the shiznit for exhaust gaskets and sealing surfaces.
Just put a thin coat on the sealing areas.
I like the, with tailpipes sound best.
A few layers different types of sound deadener should do the trick for the reducing interior drone.
I loved my turndowns on my coupe, but I gave them up because I gotta have those iconic tips out the back on an LX. 🤘🏻
Nothing like the sound of a pissed off 5oh with Mac exhaust! Glad I still have mine.
You better have one nice stereo to kill the drone.
I had full boars on my fox with turn downs. Loved the sound
Holy S(quack), you've done it again. 😂 Pure nostalgia goin' on now B. She sounds soooo good. 🎶. Keep em safe from these hail storms.

@@BREW2LFOXBODY it really does. Idk if it was just the sound of the exhaust after I put turn downs on it, or what, but it definitely seemed like it gained a couple HP.
I'm so glad you did not cut the rear valence of the gt for the exhaust pipes.. I hate that. It's a gt not an lx. Sharp car.. Great sound.
after my first hot rod with turn downs, thats all i ever had after that
I ran turndowns in my teenage years but that drone is f**** terrible. If your gonna drive it alot, I'd keep the tailpipes. If you're worried about killing hp, run a dual 3" system, it'll flow all you need.

I finally got my car sounding just right with the new cam
sweet sound , how do you like the stifflers?
Sounds good to me.. the weather here is making me mad no foxbody driving 😥😥😥

If you want a unique sound , get rid off the H or X and run a straight pipe with the old 2-chamber flow master with tails all the way back.
We have two cars with straight pipes into flowmasters. Just no tailpipes
@@BREW2LFOXBODY
I did this on my 90 Saleen , it was unique .

unique as in sounding like an old pickup truck...
Big difference!
Sounds great
The Fox sounds great! So… when are you going to sell it to me? 😅
I love the dumps! I got dumped Spintech 9000's on my vert and it thumps. Is your X-pipe from MAC? It looks just like the one I had on my old 87 LX
Put resonators inline to keep sound but reduce drone.

Put dynomax bullet race mufflers on it! 40 hp more! Documented on the Dyno documented!
You should throw some black widow neighbor haters on there😎
Music to my ears. I have a set of neighbor haters I'll be installing soon, I think I'll go with turn downs as well.
