I actually got to talk to this guy. He's super cool, down to earth and very knowledgeable. I'm sure he likes money, but I'll tell you,he saved me alot. And that's money I was going to give him for other stuff, until he helped me to figure out what I needed. Saved me alot and a real good guy. I won't buy a holster from anyone else, Just on customer service alone. If you need a holster or anything get it from this guy for sure.
My wife and I are talking about starting an online cerakoting biz, I want to offer even more solution, and holsters are just one wing of that. Awesome video dude
Your videos have been huge on my hunt for kydex knowledge lately. I would LOVE a video talking about what actual kydex you are using (thickness and brand) and plus's and minus's. I know you have mentioned using a thicker kydex I think when you were using epoxy, these kind of details would be huge.
im going to dedicate 1 day a week to the cras or at east a few hours a day to the cars. be better when holsters are caught up, which is why theyre just sitting. however i did start a garage channel to film that progress.
HELL YA BROTHER! Enjoyed the tour. I'd like to make just a few and a few knife sheaths. For some reason, I started purchasing a few Morakniv's. :) As a woodworker, I have most of the tools except for the arbor press and Kydex press. Digging that hoodie. Cleetus is my hero. When I grow up (73 and counting), I want to be just like him. :)
@faltec funny, I’ve been watching video religiously before deciding if I was going to take over an acquaintances holster business. I decided to, and he mentioned your name / company to me. Guess he knows, or is at least familiar with you. Gunnr’s Tactical Holsters, also in NH. I just took over and should be up and running soon once I nail down the basics and the electrician has my shop wired for the 240 clicker lol. Doubt you’ll see this but figured I’d introduce myself
I have wanted to try building a few holsters, for some guns I have. And toyed with the idea, since I have many of these tools. But it is really more cost effective, to buy 1 or 3 holsters from a professional (like you!), Versus, invest in a ton of tools (if you don't have them). But its nice to see what you use, like and don't, and the tools of the trade! Thanks for the video!
hello friend, I live in Turkey, I just learned how to make a holster by watching your videos, and I make a nice holsters and earn good money, thank you very much
Thanks for sharing. I'm from Austria and I learned a lot from you and your videos. Now i made my first G26 IWB and I'm very happy with it. I'm looking forward to coming new videos.
Excellent content as always! Thank you for sharing! I was curious to see details about your foam press, but you may have missed it. I did see glimpses from previous videos. I made my first foam press with cargo ratchet straps, worked so-so. Couple of months ago I built a new one with a 12V electric car jack, and wow that turned out amazing! Push a button (or a foot switch) to operate and I get stunning details in the kydex. Cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪
Have you tried using your vaccum press, for wet molding leather? I have seen some impressive leather holsters, even bowls & hats, made by press molding wet leather.
What settings did you use on that heat press? Burned up two ovens last night and found a deal on the fancier studios press. Couldn’t pass it up. I know the settings will be different for everyone, place etc. I’m looking for a starting point. Thanks for the video.
Thanks, I thought you did, but when I went back to review several I seemed to pick all the videos where that was omitted. I guess I should have looked at a few more. Thanks again
I've been watching your videos for a few months now and in my opinion you rock. with that being said I was hoping you could steer me in the right direction. I'm having a hell of a time finding light bearing widgets on the net. tried knife and holster maker with no luck. unless i went stupid and blind overnight. if you could help, I'd appreciate it.
I sell them every now and then. They're expensive to make. As far as I know, no one makes them anymore. Which is why I reached out to another business to make them.
@@FalTacUnlimitedLLC Thank you for your time iggie. I'm gonna try making them from PVC and see what happens. I tried making them from wooden Dowels and they went to shit after the first couple presses. Please let me know if you start selling them again. And thank you for your time
Hey Iggy. Thanks for the hours of knowledge you have given me. Going to start a little holster company down here in Charleston SC. Question, were did you get the ladder racks to cover the rails that you mentioned in this video?
I have been having difficulty finding a holster that I like. I want to carry appendix but I have a bit of a belly and it makes the gun tilt outward and print. I need the gun to ride lower so it can tuck under my belly but all the clip styles I have tried are still too high. I also want to be able to tuck in my shirt. I tried an ulti-clip but in order to get the gun low enough to fit under my gut the clip came up so high it stabs my knuckles when I draw. Also when I tucked in with the ulti-clip there was a noticeable bulge in the belt line by the gun and an emptiness on the left side, as well as causing my belt buckle to skew noticeably at a weird angle. I have thought of trying a sidecar rig but I don't think that would leave enough room in my pants for erm..other things. I carry a Canik SC which is a fairly thick gun, would switching to a slimmer gun make a difference?
Switching to a slimmer gun will make a difference with printing. You can have a holster where the ulticlip or j clip is mounted over the slide instead of over trigger guard
What buffing wheels do you use? I have tried the soft and hard ones made from material and they flex too much. Your wheels seem to be made of a more rigid construction that doesn't allow it to collapse and or fold over the side of the kydex.
www.holstersmith.com/vcom/abrasive-wheel-flap-wheel-800-grit-500-p-8672.html I hate buffing, I don't like the look. I use a sanding disc to get the corners down
Crazy, when I first saw this I thought there’s no way I could afford all this. Now I’m back here watching it with everything to see if I missed anything lol

Great job Iggy!!! What I like best is how you break it down to the basics with no fluff and BS.
Appreciate it!

What kind of buffer wheels are those? Do you polish the holster edges completely? Or just leave them a matte type finish?

I leave them matte

I have most of the tools, just not the skills. I leave it up to you to do mine. Maybe I'll try knives first.

Local gun stores carry them my man. Or I can sell them. I have access to them. Sadly they go for 10 per rail section.
I’m new trying learn making holsters for my guns . what scroll saw blade works best for you cutting kydex?
20 tpi or so
If you could only get one saw to start out with, would you get the band saw or scroll saw?
I started with a scroll because you can do the tighter cuts. But the band saw is amazing. Check fb marketplace for local sales
