This is the best kydex holster making video tutorial I have watched on UA-cam. It looks like it was made by a machine. The details were amazing. Great video and thanks for sharing.
What is it that NO one can keep a 10mm socket in the toolbox? I lose them constantly and now just buy one or 2 every time I go to the hardware store, same as #2 Phillips bit for my cordless drill! #10mmsocketconspiracy
Nice work. I was thinking about making some holsters but after seeing the stuff you do I’ll buy one. Now I don’t mind spending 100 and up for one. Great work.
This is the first FalTac video I'd ever seen. Probably 2 months ago. Since then, I've bought a scroll saw, the same sander from Harbor Freight, and Arbor Press, a band saw, and even a motorcycle jack/metal pipes to build a press like yours. I just ordered brown Kydex from holstersmith to try my hand at the holster in this video...since it's the holster that inspired this new obsession!
Nice, good info, made a vac former today, have a dagger with a comp and knock off tlr1 I'm going to make one for it. I enjoy making stuff myself, made a hybrid for my bodyguard 2.0 don't even know I have it on.
I use a griddle, I place ironing board cover over the kydex and it comes out great. This was a truly solid instructable. I only do hobby stuff. Kydex and leather. Great info.
That's the reason why I started this channel. I've grown a lot since this video but when I first started I couldn't find good tutorials. So I learned the trade and started it myself. Check out the newer videos for updated builds!
Great video! Thank you so much for beveling the edges inside and out. Every kydex holster or sheath I buy comes with sharp edges. I always have to bevel them myself with the dremel. It's the small touches that makes kydex products great
Very nice, great attention to detail! I'm about to try and make my first taco style kydex IWB Holster for my EDC. It's going to be fun. This video has been a great help. Thanks!
Great walk through. You've definitely got that 'maker' mentality, and you know your tools as well as if you go to sleep holding them every night. Although, I'm not sure if anyone has told you this, but you don't have to own a separate drill for every drill bit you have. Figured someone would have mentioned that to you by now. Oh, and I've got $20 that says he knows his way around the kitchen too. If he can man-handle a Dremel tool as easy as an old-timer cutting slices of an apple with his pocketknife, you know he's got skills.
As a dude fed up with a particular company dragging their feet to make a light bearing model for my weapon, you make this look way easy and I'm still way intimidated. I'd only be making a shell for myself, and I've never done it before, but you really help clarify where to block and why. Really appreciate this video!
@@FalTacUnlimitedLLC Does one need a dummy weapon like that one you used in the vid, or is it safe to use my actual weapon? Along with buying the foam, kydex, hardware and other stuff to make at most 2 holsters, if I have to buy a dummy weapon, it'd be a better financial decision to wait on said company lol.
I saw you drilling through the plate and marking the spots to drill with a white pencil. Might I suggest that instead of marking the spots to drill with a pencil, instead use an automatic center-punch? That way you've already started the drill, the drill bit is much less likely to "drift", and you won't risk marking up your plate.
Nice video! I like to see how other people do it. I like to use a sisal buffing wheel after my sanding. I’m able to bevel the edges, eliminate burrs and fine shape. Saves a lot of time. Thanks for the video.
This is a very good video! Due to the lack of Walther GSP holsters on the german market, I planned to do a holster myself (first one and directly with a complicated gun). I have seen a bunch of videos so far but all left some questions but yours clears all of them!
I don't know if you'll like the band saw as much as you think. The scroll saw chatters a bit but looks like you were doing some contored cutting? Maybe you can get the same thin blade on a band saw.? I'm sure you have it figured out. If so I probably need to do the same, I have a doall bandsaw, usually doing straight cuts, its just an optional piece of equipment I have in my machine shop. I'm gonna play around with some kydex, thanks for the info:)
Just started making my own holsters and in figuring out the details theres some learning curve. The biggest issue Ive had is correcting the spacer for hardware. I have to go back and make it deeper to be sure the posts will clear the slide or light enough to not scratch anything while drawing.
Absolutely. Holstersmith.com sells a slew of hardware. You can also get posts at shopdiyholster.com they have super thin ones for just that reason. I use aluminum from home depot
Lmfao 15:23 threw me off for a sec. I had to rewind it to make sure I didnt just fart and didnt feel it..lol I was about to be like "well that can't be good. I might need to get that checked out."lol
Handsaw works good that's what I use but one caveat if your doing rmr ,lights the dremel with that expensive wheel (the industructabl blade) you'll use as much handsaw I like the 1/4" wide bands tried em all 1/2" etc... 1/4" works the best straight long cuts not intricate shit take the info how you want to each his own great vid!!

I think it found my missing 10mm socket.

That’s the one I always loose 😂😂hilarious
I buy my 10mm and 14mm all in bulk. Thank me later ;)
10mm is the most used socket in the tool box tie a string to it with a bright peace of tape as a flag at the end
Do yoy have a muzzle brake on your gun or what's the socket for. Sombody make a 10mm socket muzzle brake 😂
Nice work. I was thinking about making some holsters but after seeing the stuff you do I’ll buy one. Now I don’t mind spending 100 and up for one. Great work.
Wow! I'd definitely buy one!!
wait til you see the vac process on this same set up!

Halfway through this video I went to your website and ordered OWB for my XDM 5.25 10MM with Baldr Mini !
I have watched a lot of these videos now, and yours is my absolute favorite. I really appreciate the extra steps you take for care and quality.

I love to cook! And currently redoing my kitchen haha spot on man. I use multiple drills and dremels cause the time it takes to change bits adds up ha
Perfect no frills and no craps given informational video 👍

@@DadHub easy to make a holster off a real gun as well. Just a little more blocking has to be done. Ejection port for example

I picked up a 1/4 wide 14 tpi blade and I only use the band saw for straight cuts. Much faster and accurate. Scroll is for bends and detail work
