Fig Variety Review: Col de Dame Gegantina

Col de Dame Gegantina is one of several great tasting Col de Dame varieties. This is reportedly one of the largest of the Col de Dame figs, hence the name Gegantina. It should have a deep red, rich berry flavor when fully ripened. CDD Gegantina ripened late for me this year, and I got my first figs in mid-October, but it was a first year tree so it should ripen a little earlier as it gets more mature.
