- We drove the BYD Seal up Genting; with 530PS and 670Nm torque, this car delivers a punch without sacrificing control. Powered by a massive 82.5kWh battery, it has an outstanding WLTP range of 520km, allowing you to enjoy lengthy travels with ease.
19-inch wheels, with double wishbone suspension in the front and a multi-link configuration in the back, ensure a smooth and controlled ride. Additionally, the front brake discs have a drilled and ventilated design.

I own a B8 Passat 2.0 and M4C. This seal driving experience in terms of comfort and solidness are way higher than Passat. When come to power, Seal is almost like the M4C or maybe better. With the price tag of 200K, it is definetly a worth buying car. Well done BYD.

Hahaha - It did quite well even on these eco tyres - I would really love to try out a set of SC7's - I think it will make a great difference. I am surprised how these eco tires were selected over the UC or SC considering the Seal was slotted to fight the T brand.
@YSKhongDriving personally I believe the SC7 is more refined for this car. Again, great review and walk around on the BYD Seal. 🎉

Thanks YS. I have a similar Seal so its great to see its capabilities in the hands of a professional campion. It will give me confidence to use more of the power on challenging roads. So far love the car after just over 1000km, I needed more performance than my ATTO 3 has to offer.

What an amazing car it is. Fun factor seems above bar. Passing the hump and bumps seems very smooth compare some others car Mr Khong driven. I bet you gain more range when descending and reaching Gombak toll.

Not at all. And yes, we did tue normal slowing down, no need to zigzag. No problem at all. No part of the body except the tyres touched anything.

With the ground clearance ground clearance of 10 cm and the battery pack that is close to the road, no surprise, it drives solid. But what about pothole and a bit flooded roads?
If your driving area has floods and potholes, please buy a truck. However, you still need to be careful because even trucks have a maximum wading depth.

uncle, do you feel a little bit off with tilt angle of the steering wheel? I think it need to be lower so the steering wheel facing straight to our body.
Hahaha, I just get into the most comfortable position - and it is not essential for the steering to be perpendicular to the body.

Uncle Khong, how would you compare the experience with the Tesla M3? I have the LR and tbh am quite disappointed with the way it turns. Straight line no complains of course. Would like hear your comparison with this Seal pls 🙏
驾驶感受不如特斯拉，所有的豪华配置都是有成本的，不可能所有地方都比特斯拉好。如果追求驾驶感受可以考虑zeekr ，可能也快到马来西亚了，但是价格会更高
I think the ITAC feature works to the Seal's advantage in the corner.
I would change the Seal's tyres to something better and this will make a huge difference.
Actually I like this car in terms of its power and handling, but I used to drive from Penang to Johor with that driving range is not quite convenient as gasoline powered vehicles. Waiting to charge the vehicle in the middle of the journey is quite tiring.
The charging network will inprove with time. And most ppl have more than 1 car.
I watched your Smart#1 Brabus genting ride too.. how’s is it different from Seal?
The Seal's drive system is a little different - the Brabus was possibly a little quicker but the Seal is lower and so could handle the corners a bit better.
Good evening uncle Khong, I've just seen the launch of BYD seal in India yesterday, saw that in showroom & loved it so much, in fact going mad about buying it ASAP. What's your take on it??? Should I go ahead or wait for something else

Sometimes it's a bit of a bummer because I want to see how quick the speed accelerates. I'm sure there's a reason to censor it, legal issues maybe? But I will be quite surprise if it is actually legal issue 😅

About 56 percent. There was plenty of regen, and we drove at normal speed.
uncle YS, any chance to review the premium (extended range) version? I believe a lot of family man like me would like to know how's the day to day drive like for a lower power version (and cheaper) with longer range :P
