You mean try to think objectively. Practically can mean any level of degeneracy. For the purple woman it was very practical to act in a deflective and defensive manner.
@@Fatemeh-qo4jy Women and men don't have free will to be either gender, so why treat them differently? Women should not be responsible for man's mistakes. Men are more promiscuous, they should cover not women.

Essence Ezell EXACTLY. I know right!! You just took my words. I honestly wanted to know more about how had his views. Because I wanted to know his questions. What he has doubts on? What sort of view point he has towards things? He isn’t really trying to be disrespectful. He has been honest and has said that he has no thorough knowledge about certain aspects of Islam. Which is completely fine. Being able to listen to someone like him patiently and answering to them in the right tone and mindset, won’t only help him understand and pursue more about the religion. But it will also help u know if you’re weaker in any aspect of the religion. If you need to research more about certain things u didn’t know existed. It’s also a way of self development. Will also, eventually, help u know more about the religion. I’m speaking from the perspective of a devoted Muslim. That’s how we need to be. Our religion symbolizes peace and I wish he wasn’t kicked out of the conversation at times.
Regardless of their answer or more like opinion..you can google what Quran think and find out the verse related to LGBT, women's right, their view to non-believers, atheist, those who criticize islam, etc. Islam means submit to god's will, there's rules and punishment for everything delivered by another human.
@@Elijah666 I agree, Western media projects Islam and some parts of the world with Muslims as the majority of the population so differently to validate their political aims that some people think "Muslims from other countries are not as tolerant". I mean faith is about the person and their interpretation of the book as well as their experiences and relationship with God. It is not about any country. People seen on media are usually extremists and radicalized which does not, in any way, represent any population. There are a lot of Muslims in Europe and Asia but we always HAVE to think of the Middle East when speaking of Islam. This is a channel that casts speakers of English. Why don't we name other videos as "Do All American Feminists Think the Same" or "Do All American Atheists Think the Same" but this one? (I don't mean to aggravate but to form a conversation)
That's definitely not the case. Tolerence in Islam goes with the scriptures. Anything that contradicts with that is unacceptable. I am a proud muslim and I am happy with my spriptures that are from Allah.

His arguments and contreversies are completely false and useless because everything prohibited and allowed has been mentioned and explained in the Quoran and anyone whos against it or tries to dive deeper into it is not a muslim or a beleiver at all
Obviously not. I used to be a big mouther atheist like Gervais 20 years ago and I since shut my mouth. I keep my beliefs for myself. I was made a godfather yesterday in a catholic church and played along with it and I'm happy. My rule is to not just shove your beliefs in other people mouths.

I was extremely disappointed at the way the women in this video didn’t let the man speak his point of view about women being viewed equally in Islam. He was pointing out that he felt conflict between his perception of what was in the Koran versus the belief in his heart and the women totally tore him down. This was an opportunity to learn and hear a different perspective and I’m so saddened we never even got to hear it because of the way the women ganged up on him ... and yes, this is a woman who is writing this.
Fully agree they all teamed up to shut him down and tbh he wasn’t even saying anything bad he was trying to support their idea of females being equal to men but tbh I feel like they didn’t get the right people to portray themselves in this video I’m not saying they are bad Muslims but it is evident they are too frightened to say anything bad on camera and are not speaking their mind a lot of Muslims will have very different views to the people in this video especially about the lgbt question in reality this video is 6 American Muslims trying to fix the Muslim image.

Lady in purple, when someone is explaining what he thinks or believes, he is not trying to take anything away from you or trying to change your believes. Its a conversation. Be humble, and more loving, even when you disagree with someone. For your attitude made it difficult to agree with you, although you did mean it good. And btw, your opinion about america at the of the video just sounded like theory or what they force us to believe, but you know very well that history teaches us America is not built on those values.
Lady in Purple, while reading your comment: **starts reading**, **after 2 lines**- I don't care what you think, I believe what I believe **rolls her eyes and scrolls down** I don't think she would understand it, even if you explain to her.
Well, we can say America was built based on these values and the proof is that a video like this can be made and people can even disagree. They are free to speak their minds, to be against the government and to say something is not so right in their religion, even though they still attend to it.
I feel like the man with the glasses never got to express his points, he was abruptly interrupted and never was given the opportunity as others were to defend their belief.
fr !! and he was speaking the most sense; willing to acknowledge the flaws in some of the Quran’s teachings when constrained with, like he said personal and societal values - the lady in the purple headscarf was unable to confront the fact that the Quran does say things that do not present men and women equally and therefore refuses to even think how we should reconfigure those verses into something that encompasses all genders!

It was a discussion. Responding and disagreeing does not equal shutting down.
It's interesting how The question about LGBT made one of them break down. It is really a heavy burden to equally hold two condictary beliefs.
She was crying because the question remainded her of her best friend, not beacuse there's a burden to equally hold two condictary beliefs. Also she made an amazing statement that everybody should remember and understand
@@SYZYGYCULT sorry i didn't mean to sound rude. I know that nobody was shaming her, but i wanted to say that probably there's more than what we see. Idk maybe he had some problems with her family or with his/her family or something else
It's because they live in the USA. Ask that question in countries where muslims are the majority, and you will get the opposite result for that question.

I'm egyptain and I'm a closeted LGBT ex Muslim I think what's happening is sad
Wow. loved it!!!! Need more such videos it has evrything it shows us thinking also helps alot more people to clear their misconceptions .
No offence, but I was kinda feeling bad that the white shirt one didn't get to express his opinions openly without getting interrupted just because they were different.
Mainly the women in the purple
heights of abnormality that’s what they do.
He seems to have been the smartest and most through and unemotional in his responses.
Women in purple was and acting like she is the only one that reads quran
heights of abnormality muslims like the other ppl are like that they think that they’re always right and god was at their home giving them private tutoring telling them what’s wrong and what’s right
They should really let the man with the cast talk there always cutting him off
He was extremely uneducated and even admitted that. I agree with very little of what he said.
@@ayahibrahim he was right about the violence
@@ayahibrahim But should still be allowed to talk and get his point across
@@ayahibrahim it sounded like he didn't get to his point... He was probably about to point out that the verse could be taken out of context, how are you going to call him uneducated when he couldn't even finish his sentence.
what do you want hunty preach
They should've called mufti menk for this
Right
Yesss
Thank you!
Mufti menk sugar coats everything and half of what he says isn’t even authentic.
@@armedinsurgent347 it was a joke lmao
The guy in the white shirt is a closet atheist and unsurprisingly the most educated on Islamic scripture in this bunch. The others are either ignorant or untruthful about Islamic jurisprudence.
Just because you read the Quran everyday doesn’t mean you know everything about Islam,
Also the girl in the maroon sweater was really sweet abt the LGBTQ topic.
@@psq6214 Yea he had good points, but the girl in purple kept cutting him off
@@psq6214 Open minded while dismissing facts ?? he was only there to appease the liberals
@Tim Evans ?? You can be friends with someone of the opposite sex in Islam...tf? Stop spreading lies. Give me your quote because this must be a joke.
@Tim EvansThere is nothing in Islam that says you can't be friends with the opposite sex. And she is probably crying because she feels conflicted not because she thinks she is better than her friend.
@Tim Evans Wow, Israel must be paying you the big bucks for all these lengthy anti-Islam comments you've been making. You JIDF/hasbara trolls make me sick. How do you sleep at night knowing you are a puppet of a nationalist apartheid ideology that opposes the belief in God, the One who created all living beings - including you?
The lady in the purple hijab was extremely defensive and closed minded to the ideas of others and listening. I wanted to hear the guy in the white talk more but I felt he was under attack. I wish this dove deeper.
Agreed, this is a form of censorship, not good at all. This happens when you put your feelings above facts
UH for GOOD reason, he was totally misconstruing Islam.
@@fleabag6477 He was quoting the Quran verbatim, how was he misconstruing it?
why don't you get that this is a religion with rules not opinions
curly I feel he was bringing up criticism of Islam to raise the question, not necessarily disagreeing with everything the group was saying. I would have liked to hear him finish his thought process before I judge.
I feel like Naoshad (white-shirt guy) and Nadia (Syrian lady) are the only ones who I would like to have a conservation with. Theyre honest, eloquent and open-minded
Tima dania?
Yeah the white shirt guy really had some good points. He also seemed to be the most logical and interesting from the rest of them.
@@AliumMoAnn True. The other guy was just going along, didn't even think critically and the girl w/o the hijab doesn't even know what she wants. The other 2 are just lowkey hypocrites "I support my friend but not his lifestyle". That only makes sense to people with diarrhea in their brains
@@luisafernanda9453 Yeah I don't understand the whole "I support my friend but not his lifestyle" thing, but it seems like she doesn't fully understand it either and she's struggling to come to terms with traditionalism and loving her friend for who he is. Being gay isn't a lifestyle, it's who he is, and to say you don't agree with who someone is just because they love differently doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but at least she's trying to be accepting in some way I suppose.
Dania not Nadia
the "I read the quran" woman ... is the worst kind of people. I'm a muslim and I hate having to deal with those kind of people. and her info is wrong as well which is so bad.
Stating that you are knowledgable on a specific religious text without backing up the argument does not prove anything!
Arguments are not evidence. Thats where all religious people have it wrong. We can argue all day as to wether fire is hot or cold it wont prove that it is hot until we test it. Just like we've been arguing about the existence of a god for years. All we can do is argue, an argument is a statement or an idea. Its not a proof of something.
Yeah, she didn't even quote the relevant verses
No matter how you look at it, educated or not, proof does not exist when it comes to religion.
Absolute zero scientific data on the existence of any GOD!
@@whenibecamethesun..8759 have u read the Quarn? 😂 Because let me tell u, the scientific miracles and proof is far beyond anything anyone in the time of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) could have known. Their are scientific facts in the Quran that we have come to known just recently, and we believe the Quarn is a book that came from God. The evidence proofs it, and the book is designed so beautifully and elegantly with the highest form of arabic that again, no one In that century could have possibly known. I urge u to watch scientific evidence from the Quarn videos and get ready to be amazed.
