Wants it delivered in the garage. Leaves truck and scaffolding blocking garage. 💁♀️
The contractor never got upset about it though. Of course we all want the job as easy as it can be. When he found out he has to offload it anyways I’m sure he didn’t bother to move anything.
Yup
I noticed that also. lol
It’s no secret why they leave there trucks out they want you to scratch it so you could pay them
I agree. idiot for not moving the truck and making it easier but I also feel if you know how to drive a forklift you probably could have put it in there without problems

I like how people are expecting deliveries and want you to put it in all these tight spaces but they don't even have the common sense or decency to move their damn vehicle out of the way.
Seriously! Like move the damn cars out of the way and make some space in the garage if you’re gonna ask for favors.
Amen
Sounds like y'all do or did this before for a living
@@ronburgundy7127 I drove a forklift for years and would have other departments ask me for help and I was usually happy to oblige. I could thread a needle with a forklift but some people would make it unnecessarily difficult. You'd go over to help and there would be a dozen things in your way that they could have taken care of before hand. Some people don't value other people's time or effort. I had my own production job to do. I wasn't there to serve them.
Just like this guy, he's probably skilled enough to put that load anywhere they needed it if given 30-45 minutes to maneuver around all their obstacles, but all it takes is one broken sprinkler head, or septic line, or rose bush, and all his effort is for naught. It's just not worth it. Help the people that appreciate you and have a place prepared. Tell the others to pound sand.
It was in the customer's note. If the driver doesn't want to do what is expected, it is his fault for taking the order. These truckers always do this shit, or they break shit.
Drove a crane truck delivering concrete pipes . The number of ppl that the sales guy said I’d drop on nature strip (curb side) but had overhead powerlines . Yeah no thanks .
A big part of the problem is the misinformation the sales staff give to make the sale.
OR they say: 'We usually deliver to roadside only, but you can ask the driver if he can do that.'
Inconsiderate customers makes that to be: "We'll do whatever you want".
Pretty abrupt ending on this one tho.
Yup, sales people should be eliminated

Same shit in LTL. A liquor stors owner buys a big ass refrigerator online and chooses the cheap curbside delivery option thinking he can talk me into tearing the packaging open and dragging it into his store before he signs the receipt. Nope, not happening.

so, basically, the customer bought for warehouse prices and expected full service delivery.
Good summation of the stupidity. A great bumper sticker is "Ass, Gas Or Grass, No one rides for free"
It depends if the company is offering free delivery to the customer or if the customer paid for or negotiated a certain delivery location/method as part of the sale agreement. I've had several customers say they will purchase only if we will deliver to an exact spot on their site. So, that's the way it's written. It's basically a contractual condition of the sale. If it's not performed/carried out, it's a breach of contract terms and no one gets paid.

If you want your drywall dropped inside, buy it from an actual drywall company and have them stock it wherever you need it. If you’re paying home depot prices, you get Home Depot product and Home Depot delivery. And they don’t do stuff like that. Instead of bitching about it, be mad at yourself for not getting your materials from a place that puts stuff inside like you want it.
Exactly. That's why their process are cheaper. Your expected to do the work yourself, that's the entire concept behind home Depot. Pay the extra money and the drywall company will put it anywhere.
Hell there's guys that do nothing but stock after it's been dropped off. They charge a few cents per sheet and run on cigarettes and cheap beer.

Make no mistake, if you're being captain helpful and taken in the extra effort of moving materials inside for somebody and they do something stupid like get in your way and end up with something dropped on their foot or knocked over or who knows what else, they aren't likely to show you similar courtesy in not suing the hell outta you for injuring them...which home Depot isnt going to stand behind you on because you were outside the scope of work. Yep. My neighbor ordered a floor model refrigerator from Home Depot. Apparently floor models come curbside only as they are delivered by the local store and not the manufacturer hired truck.
Anyway, she and her mom begged and pleaded with the driver to bring it around back through the condo gate that was really tight. The driver scratched the door handle on the gate and without even a blink of an eye they told him to take it back and refused the delivery. Fucking b-tches. The fridge showed up a week later with a new handle that I’m sure the driver ate. So she hires “Mr Handyman” to bring the new fridge up up two flights of stairs but only pays for a one man crew and the guy just had a cheapo hand truck. Guess who got stuck on the bottom pushing that f-Cker up the stairs.
I wonder if the contractor does extra stuff for his clients like he expects from this driver. I doubt it.

@Hello Brian how are you doing
Lol, as a contractor we always have men on site to load up the drywall into logical locations. It’s never the delivery company.
The point of getting it delivered is so you don't have to haul it from the shipper yourself. Where you put it at your house is your problem.
You were supposed to design and build the truck trailer and subsequently the material then make the oil pump convert your own gasoline diesel of course and then deliver it and install it while you're at it.
I’ve driven trucks and I’ve been a contractor both for the biggest part of my life. Truck driver when I was younger and contractor from middle age to retirement. Ordering Sheetrock from a lumber yard your in your own for placement 99% of the time however if you order it from a drywall company they will put it anywhere you want it.. there is usually a small delivery charge but it’s so worth it especially if your working on a time schedule. So bad luck for this guy for not asking up front about delivery specificities
Even lumber companies will deliver where u want

Yup. I have had drywall put in through a 2nd floor window. But that gets worked out ahead of time.

“That’s the whole point of delivery, so you can put it inside the garage?” Really? I just had 3 cords of wood delivered, it was dumped in piles and he left. I wouldn’t expect it be stacked and put away too! Him being a contractor, he should know better.
Wood cord delivery isn't the same as building suppliers. Professional building suppliers will put it nearly anywhere and will wrap it in plastic.
@@Josh.1234 I know wood delivery is not the same. I was just saying that I don’t expect it to be piled as people shouldn’t expect “curbside deliveries” to be neatly put away where ever they choose. Curbside means Curbside. Make prior arrangements and here’s a thought, maybe pay for it to be put otherwise, THEN expect more. Also, some places don’t allow for huge trucks to do otherwise. Like here in the California mountains where I live.

Personally, I would come prepared with a liability waiver. Tell them that you only do curbside delivery. That if they want it delivered to their garage, they have to sign the waiver first.
It would probably head off a lot of head ache.
The idea is that the delivery instructions are setup before the delivery is even made. There's too much can happen when you start delivering past an entryway.
We have those. I just prefer not to bring it up at all.
LOOK LIKE A ROOF TOP DELIVERY...
I used to be a company driver for Home Depot. I loved it when the customer would tell me where to put the material. I'd always ask if there were anything along the path such as the well plumbing or a septic system and they would tell me "there's the septic system, but don't worry about it". I'd tell them I'm not driving over the system and they'd threaten to cancel the order to which I told them "okay I'll put it back on the truck!" LOL, they'd say put it where you can. I always loved "put in the garage, it's your job!"
Yeah but they actually pay for a curbside delivery so anytime that they argue with me about putting it anywhere past the curbside and I get it all if their driveway or something I'll end up leaving it back at the curbside. I'll then tell them look I try to be nice.

As my therapist always says... "You can complain, you're just choosing not to!"
I just got a few pallets of bricks delivered from Lowe's. I had no idea that "curb side" delivery literally meant on the curb. When the driver arrived he stopped to unload in the street. I thought it was weird because I have a wide circle drive that would have made everything so much easier. He was cool about it and even dropped everything in the yard where I asked. Stupid question: Why does the sales order ask for specific delivery instructions if the only option is curb side? I did request the pallets be dropped beside my garage and I made sure there was enough room to maneuver in the yard. I was very pleased with the service and will order again.
I think you’re a lazy troublemaker that are to realize the customers are the ones paying your check and I how you eat and you shouldn’t be such an ass
That's not a stupide question. It's a good question. Like you I suspect it is the reason for this confusion happening over and over. Would love to hear Safford's answer to this.
Usually it all about time on site and public liability. . I have delivered sheets of Gyprock ( dry wall in the states) and I crane it off onto the property , then they think you have time to help carry sheets under cover. The longer you play around on site the more chance things can go wrong. If people want something other than kerbside, then they must pay for the Time. Standard delivery drivers are on time Schedules, and can't spend time on sites worrying about a customer's problems. Reason a delivery Template has delivery notes is to accommodate more of the pre-arranged and Simple delivery process. And unless organised and EASY access is available , forget about it..
@@vancoe3163 I think you should take some basic Language Arts courses.
There shouldn't be delivery instructions, except for an address.
How about moving your truck and scaffolding out of the way?
i delivered building material for a timbr mart for several years
this is a common occurrence.
for many years the owner of the store promised inside delivery of all sheet rock,
you show up and the customer wants so many sheets in every room of the home including up and down unfinished stairs.
needless to say this company had so many workers comp claims it no longer exists.
You know as long as this guy doesn't talk this could be interesting.
I'm a new construction builder in NJ and have to work with drivers like this almost daily but on streets that are very small and homes that are being built 5ft from one another. These guys have my respect, I've seen them pull off huge deliveries that I thought were impossible at times.
❤️❤️💪🏾💪🏾
I bet after year of working construction your thoughts on what deliveries are impossible has gone out window when you realized somehow someone will find a way
I think it should have been established between the the contractor and the delivery company before you set out on the delivery. Dropping the shit in the street is not an option if you and the contractor don't have a fork lift on hand. It was a lack of communication on both sides.
Customer pays for curbside delivery
Or call a real lumber yard for that service lol
@Hello Daniel how are you doing
i've had A LOT of deliveries over the years and never a single problem, drivers always do as much as they can to accommodate.
Bruh if I was in your shoes I'd be throwing hands with these people
By the way it’s not Sheetrock. It’s drywall or gypsum board. Sheetrock is a band name
Laundromat is a brand too as is Kleenex, they all get used wrong many times.
Put a BandAid on that butthurt.
Ok Sherlock...
Sheetrock is a "band" name eh ? Is it a "rock" band ?
I didn't know John C Reilly drove a truck
I think if you accept a job then you accept whatever is in the notes unless you call the customer to make a different agreement before you show up.
I was all for the homeowner, until I saw the pickup parked in the driveway and the scaffolding still in the garage. Common sense ain't good sense anymore, smh.
Let me explain something: I might have to redo this video because a lot of people are confused about what's actually going on. The people that are there on site were not the contractor They probably don't even know the conversation that the contractor and I had on the phone. That's the reason why I most likely started recording because I knew if the contractor was there it wasn't going to be good but seeing how these people on site were cool people think that this video is clickbait.
Used to do the same job for slows had to take 1/2 a flatbed load up a 1/4 mile drive that was nothing but ruts and clay guy says just put it in the garage ok so I did. two hours later I ask is everything there and ok. He looks it over say all good signature on paper work off I go. A week later he claims I damaged the concrete in the garage Moffet never went in the Garage doesn't matter He gets $3000 for repair of concrete that wasn't damaged.
YESSSSSSS ☝️ Thank you!

Photos deliveries save your butt.
What a POS"!!
This guy would definitely have been better off hiring a different delivery company. That seems to be a running theme on this channel
Whats the theme?
Man!!!! That’s a lot stress dealing with customer… specially the ones who think they are paying you. Keep up the good work and the videos… good channel 👍👍
I like the part you didnt even look before just throwing the straps over who cares about a car coming by lmfao
Sent it
I carry 3 foot pvc pipes For jobs like this.
Right after he okays the recording, he gives the instruction of take it to the garage and we'll get it from there. You did exactly as the customer asked. On video. Pro level. 👊✌️
"Let's Go Brandon" - FJB!!!
FDT, the prison bit ch. Never get political.. You'll lose subs.
Why you trying to pick a fight with that big guy😂
I really enjoy your videos but I have a question I’m sure you’ve covered. Why can’t you have your attorney draw a form up saying your not liable for damages.
since we are third-party contracted the customer thinks that we work directly for the shipper and then when they claim that we damage their property they think that they're suing the Fortune 500 company the shipper and they don't realize that they are coming directly after us. So sometimes the claims will be dropped but sometimes customers don't care either way they just want their property fixed or redone at someone else's expense and the shipper will Make us pay for it even with their waiver signed with the customer. We've been burned before We have another video coming out soon that will probably be called the original Karen.
That makes since then I worked at Home Depot when associates had to drive the delivery truck and they were in house trucks back then. Keep them videos coming.
@@SaffordDelivery this is exactly what happens the customer only cares a bout his delivery and thinks we as drivers can do miracles they don't care if you damage your truck or anything else
Which is why companies like the depot used third party for deliveries. Love the ones that claim you damaged something until you prove it was pre existing.

How people don’t understand curbside delivery is insane!!
Part 2 ua-cam.com/video/Gw9rwuIQv_o/v-deo.html
Yeah he must be getting popular I stumbled across him in my recommendations. Great content! 👍
If the dude had moved his truck and a couple of items in the garage, that pallet could have been slid directly into the garage?
Liability
Ok you know he’s coming and yet you don clean out garage for delivery?
