Brand new house. Went to deliver all the appliances. Karen at the door said that if we got so much as a spec of dust or dirt inside the house she would sue. Called the manager and he said "Bring it all back". We did. Life is too short to take it seriously or to deal with Karens.
I hate when people, especially Karens, treat hard working people doing back breaking work (I imagine those appliances weren’t light) like second class citizens. Good for you man, life is too short to deal with that crap.
@@anthonybarefoot6744 my cousin worked at Lowes and I would hear so many horror stories.. she has autism (high functioning so if you weren’t told you wouldn’t know) and she was on lunch talking to her friend / coworker and it came up and her manager overheard and unprovoked started treating her like shit and saying, “I heard you have autism, I hope you understand I’m not going to be any easier on you because of that because no one in the real world cares about your autism…” and her manager would just be mean and cruel to her based on something she overheard two people talking about. And she would say it every week at least once just to be cruel, she would ask my cousin to do something and follow it with, “and you better have it done right and on time and I don’t wanna hear excuses or about your autism” all un promoted as my cousin never complained or brought up her autism or try to use it as an excuse or crutch… she literally just mentioned it one time in casual conversation to a coworker/friend. Finally I told her that she doesn’t have to put up with that kind of abuse and what is essentially being treated poorly due to a disability so I had my lawer contact the store and say that he had heard from a “customer” me.. that overheard this manager verbally abusing a worker about her autism and that is a clear OSHA violation that also violates the Americans With Disabilities Act so you might want to stop doing that as you are literally breaking a law. My cousin never heard that bitch say anything about it again and the horrible woman apologized and luckily my cousin got the hell out of there the second she graduated college and now has a great job in entertainment and got the job based on her senior thesis on the portrayal of autistic people in media as well as their mistreatment in the workplace. I had a delivery last year. Driver was familiar to me. I asked if he could put my delivery in my barn. He tried, but it was a no go. He bumped the wall on the way out and left a little dent. Then he tried to tell me where to send the repair bill. I said, “There won’t be a bill. You were trying to do me a favor. This was my fault. Thanks for trying!” I appreciate these drivers.

@@mtm7114 how? Because he couldn't go to the specific location? A lot of times we do curbside is because the majority of places the load needs to be at is not accessible by machine and the best we can do is usually as close as the machine can go.

Once ordered a log splitter (500+ pounds), paid a little extra for "lift gate" curbside delivery. Arrives boxed up and on a pallet. Very easy fix: don't argue with them, don't negotiate, just say "ok, I'll take it back" and then take it back and let the warehouse charge them a restocking fee..customer gets what he wants (which is the refusal of the load), driver gets paid, warehouse gets paid for lost time
i think this drive only gets paid if he drops off. seemed odd for him to insist that he was going to drop off regardless of what homeowner said. he stated multiple times that he gets paid to leave on curb.
@@dj_menyo839 That would be a very bad deal if he was only paid if he drops off. He would actually drop off no matter what then and take a picture to prove delivery. My thoughts exactly. I used to walk around with a Rum and Coke in my hand everywhere I went. When I got sober, I realized that sober people set their drinks down to do things like receive a delivery off a truck.
Chris, I agree! The trucker offered to get the material as close as possible which is already above and beyond what the customer paid for. Good thing the trucker filmed this with his phone. Many times these customers will lie about the delivery person and say that they were insulting, threatening and/or used bad language. I have over 30 yrs of managment experience in delivery companies and I've seen this. However, there are folks out there who are friendly to drivers, offer them water and may even tip the driver. Those customers make that drivers day.
No doubt. When I took delivery of a gun safe, I made sure that they were bringing it into my house and putting it where I wanted it. You work this out up-front. The owner-lady made sure it was in the delivery instructions and asked me questions like: is it being taken up or down flights of stairs, are there any hard corners that will cause problems, etc. That's good, that's what you want. It cost me an extra $50 and was worth every penny. It was 5 minutes of work for them, the hydraulic thing they used to move the 665-lb. gun safe was pretty cool to see in action. I was happy to not break my back, totally worth it!
He is what I call a dangerous person, a very little bit of knowledge but thinks he knows it all. If he knows what lumber size he ordered why is he asking if it will fit through a certain area , he should have been prepared and he knew it was curbside delivery. You’re doing a good job❗️🇺🇸
Supreme douchebag..and just after he looked at the material, he still still wanted it through a 15' gate. Then a few mins later, said it was the wrong material. Silly customer could have picked the material up with a flatbed/trailer, and brought it right EXACTLY WHERE HE WANTED IT! All while avoiding a delivery fee. Shame in him😂
The store manager will recheck the receipt to see if it was the right size boards ! But I’m like why at first you ask to bring the load through a gate to the backyard if it wasn’t the right size boards before you even checked the load! Something’s fishy here!!
You "jog" the load through..it just depends on the variables at the gate..how tall wide wats sitting around..You can fit 15ft pack..thr9ugh a 13ft gate..The forks move it side to side a few inches. Coupled with angling one end in...it could fit..

That’s how I’d respond. One time, a Home Depot refused the load of Sheetrock. I called dispatch. They said hang out a bit. After about an hour, the HD guys comes and says, “They said I have to take it, but I don’t have a place to put it.” I called dispatch and relayed their message. Dispatch said “Leave it!” How can I leave it if they won’t unload it? He called whoever he had to, and I guess they still said take it. Frustrated, he unloaded the Sheetrock, and stacked it all around the Pro entrance. 😅. He probably got fired, but we felt better!

The load wasn't even the wood the guy paid for. Also he paid for delivery to his address and not across a highway at someone else's address. The guy was right for refusing the order. The driver brought the wrong load to the wrong address.
With the way he was acting, it’s good that you didn’t go onto the property, he would have found some way to have you cited for trespassing or claimed damages to something that you never damaged
A few years ago, I ordered a large amount of lumber to build a deck in my backyard. I paid for curbside delivery, which I knew meant at the curb. However, after chatting up the driver for a short while, I asked if he could help me get the load into the garage, which would save me a lot of work. At first, he hesitated, saying that technically he wasn't supposed to do that. However, he agreed to meet me more than halfway. He offered to back into the driveway and get it as close to the garage as he could. I was grateful and thanked him for his extra effort. After he left, I carried the boards one at a time into the garage, which was a lot easier given that it was close to the garage. The experience illustrates one of the most important lessons my parents taught me: treat people with courtesy and respect, especially if you want something from them that you haven't paid for. This lesson about respect applies to everyone: teachers, delivery workers, store clerks, police officers, and anyone who has to deal with the public. It boggles my mind that so many people think that piss and vinegar will get them what they want in life.
In the customers defense this lazy truck driver didn’t even go look at the opening of the gate, he was dropping it off right there no Matter what. No need to kiss his. This truck driver was an AHole and I would having dealt with him either
@@jasiahperez9547 The truck driver is paid to do curbside delivery, his job is literally to "drop it off right there". If you really have to have delivery right up to the location you need to arrange that in advance, some drivers will accommodate your request if you're nice and it's doable, but you should not expect service you did not pre-arrange and pay for and then call the driver and A-hole for not meeting your extra request that you concealed from the beginning.
Ive done plenty of wood fences in georgia and had curbside delivery. Cant tell you how many times ive carried materials up steep hills or back into their yard 300 some feet. I view this little man as weak and lazy.
5:11 all right sir, no problem, I just need you to write "REFUSED DELIVERY" in big letters across the bills, print your name, sign your name, date and time, and then I'll be out of your hair.
I used to haul trailer homes. As you can imagine, the recipients are rarely ready for things *they* ordered. And expect us to accommodate them. We are always happy to help within reason. What most don't understand, that extra mile we go, *we are responsible for whatever happens* to the equipment, property, etc. That's why we are very cautious about it. And why we gladly help when it's possible.
I've had large things delivered to my house throughout the years. On the order form I signed each time, it specifically stated, in very bold letters, curbside delivery (Obviously for things not like appliances that normally would be delivered in house). Now, was anything I had delivered as cumbersome as this? No, but I have had very heave things delivered such as weight lifting equipment and all the times the driver was as cool and accommodating as he could be. I was fully aware it was a curbside delivery and was prepared to take it from the curb, but the drivers were always cool and backed it in as far as they could. Common courtesy and respect go a LONG way. This dude had an attitude from the jump.
You being a home owner should know that a little grease of the Palm goes a long way $$$ Especially if the driver really doesn’t have to do it ??? I mean like you want something for free,I mean like you yourself said it, curb side delivery!!! Not backed up to your door !!!! It would of helped if the guy was more Pleasant witch got a return from me at least, hell a smile hello I’d back right up to the kitchen sink !!! Attitude got nothing to do with it it’s called respect
As a driver myself, these deliveries are always my favourite. There is no easier delivery than a non delivery. This is what I'm contracted to do, you don't want it? Cool, I'll take it back and have a great day man, lol. If the customer still wanted the product it would be charged for re-delivery a second time with the same restriction after the office explained to the customer what their obligation was and what they were paying for. Its a waste of time to do the job twice but if the customer wants to pay for that then its their money.
That's a riot! I am grateful if a deliverer can just get a load as close as possible and then I tip them for the trouble. Hard to imagine being so self-entitled.

The customer is a punk. He comes out half drunk with a beer in a cup, acting like a jerk. He screwed up when ordering materials, didn't pay to have it brought to the back but curbside only. He's looking for free materials or partial free delivery. I am very glad I've retired from dealing with A-Holes like him. The poor truck driver was to listen to the noise coming from the customers face.
I find it hard to believe that there is no itemized bill of lading. Check the bill, if the inventory is correct with your load, call the shipper. Verify that it’s curbside delivery. It appears that your only skill is getting from point a to point b. That’s not a delivery. That’s transport. Delivery is finishing the deal.

I feel the pain of this. I used to work at a Lowe's and I would have to deal with customers like this all day. I really don't understand why so many people can't act like reasonable mature adults.
If you need the load placed somewhere specific, you better work that out ahead of time. ALWAYS assume that it's only getting dropped curbside and ask what you need to do to get it hauled to your backyard or wherever. What's wrong with people? @@Skank_and_Gutterboy Alot of people don't realize how unreasonable they are actually being until we showed them what physically we can and cannot do 🤷♂️🤷♂️
It seems the customer was very clear, return it. Too bad for him, paying for delivery that never happened, restocking and other fees. What a tool. Your patience is way more than I would have done.
The driver is required to have a bill of lading in order to legally have temporary possession of the goods on board although it needn't be a detailed list of materials, only the weight. This the customer signs and both get a copy. The purpose of the B/L is to acknowledge receipt of a shipment. The shipper would normally provide their customer with an itemized bill of sale that the driver would give to the customer to verify that he got what he paid for but can do this on his own time, at his own pace and not make a driver wait for it. If there's a discrepancy, the customer can take it up with the shipper later. In this instance, the carrier should charge the shipper for a refused delivery (usually 1/2 hour) and return the goods at the same rate that they were going to deliver it for. The extra cost would have to be born by the shipper and not the carrier who in this instance is faultless. The shipper can recover from their customer if they think he's being unreasonable or trying to get something for nothing. The trucker can't because, as a third party, he has no contract with the customer.
If the order ain't right, don't take it out on the driver. It probably passed through no less than 3-5 other people's hands before it hit his. All he does is throw some straps on it, fight traffic, and take the abuse when it ain't right.
Drives me crazy when this happens to us. I love it when builders act surprised that you can't drive thru piles of dirt, rocks, trash or over trenches with sewer lines. I also have to deal with no steps getting up into new homes and sometimes houses on stilts. All we ask is to be able to get close to house. I deliver cabinets and it's not easy hand trucking those things through mine fields of a yard.

I agree. The driver should have walked to check out what the customer was asking. Forget about anything else. He needed to stop being lazy and go look. Maybe he wouldn’t be able to get it into the back yard but maybe they would come to an agreement where to leave it if he just took the walk. The driver is passive aggressive at being lazy. If I was the driver I would have done a much better job offering customer service. I would have walked away with a big tip and a big thank-you even if I could only leave the delivery by the road. He was a lazy disrespectful driver that could have shown the contract to the owner then say, “ Letme take a look, if I can help you out I will” Easy. Very very easy. I feel the pain of this. I used to work at a Lowe's and I would have to deal with customers like this all day. I really don't understand why so many people can't act like reasonable mature adults.
Probably he never heard of road side delivery i had never heard of it
Curbside
If you need the load placed somewhere specific, you better work that out ahead of time. ALWAYS assume that it's only getting dropped curbside and ask what you need to do to get it hauled to your backyard or wherever. What's wrong with people? After refusing delivery, this egghead was probably down at the store hollering at people. He seems like a guy that needs to be arrested and do a weekend in jail to get his head right.
@@Skank_and_Gutterboy Alot of people don't realize how unreasonable they are actually being until we showed them what physically we can and cannot do 🤷♂️🤷♂️
It's like when you go to a stone and soil and have stuff delivered, they will always dump it in front or curbside
It seems the customer was very clear, return it. Too bad for him, paying for delivery that never happened, restocking and other fees. What a tool. Your patience is way more than I would have done.
He needs to know for what he paid-exactly for what he paid
Laurel and Hardy delivering that Piano omg lol
"I love it when builders act surprised that you can't drive thru piles of dirt, rocks, trash or over trenches with sewer lines." His driveway was freaking clean. Lazy mofo!
entitled customers are brain dead. they think you have magical levitating vehicles that can traverse any kind of terrain
i tried delivering cabinets once and never again. doesnt pay near enough for the difficulty involved.
@@_AndromedaGalaxy_ It's not bad if you are the owner and have the right equipment. What makes its hard is not being able to pull to a job closely. Very good exercise and you are not at a job very long usually.
You handled it well. We are always nice to EVERY vendor because they have to deal with tea sippers like this guy
👍😆
You and I both know that was coke and crown 😂
He's not sipping tea in that glass
Hey, I like a good hot cup of tea.
Didn't know it was happy hour so early in the day!! The minute he called you" buddy" I knew you were in for a rough time!! You should have just left with the lumber and let the guy get it himself, then called the cops saying he is drinking and driving!!
i recognized that trailer instantly. I’m in charge of deliveries at my store and i’m constantly hearing horror stories from my flat drivers. I try to help them out as much as I can because I know how these customers are.
hopefully you ride along occasionally and get to see exactly what they have to deal with
worked for years a t Home Depot California and when i explained why the curbside delivery is the policy because people call the store and say i damaged their property with my forklift so now its curbside only, they look at me like what!!1 a few always ruins it for the many
"How do you not know what's on the order?" Wouldnt that be the same as to ask a delivery driver what's inside all the packages they deliver to people?
Just give him the weight and a pencil.
honestly your attitude was " ill do what i want" from the start. a good deliveryman would see if he can drive the truck up to the jobsite
Aah man I felt so bad for you. He’s trying to act like a bigger person and treating you like dirt. It was his fault, he ordered a product that he wanted in a certain place but he EXPECTED you to have a certain sized vehicle for it. You acted calm which was the best thing to do👌👌
-The ass wipe guy had a drink in his hand. That was his back up for a big mouth. The coward type.
The driver was the dumb ass the customer knew the facts
I feel for the guys that deliver . I always thank them and help out and try to be as understanding as possible .
Ahh, you have common sense!
The precursor to common courtesy..
Not as common as it used to be.
But a sure sign, of a good human being!
Imagine ordering something and then getting mad because it was delivered
His wife wanted something and he didn't want to build it.
the company delivered the wrong item, id be upset too.
@@JC-dc9oz there’s no proof of that, as far as we know he ordered the wrong thing
That goes both ways.
Imagine not knowing what your delivering 👀
" get paid to drop it at the curb" even tho you got a lift at the back of the truck crazy times we live in, i don't blame the customer a bit delivery guy acted lazy n selfish
He was a lazy disrespectful driver that could have shown the contract to the owner then say, “ Letme take a look, if I can help you out I will”
Easy. Very very easy.
Cooperate
If it was not possible to do as the customer asked the customer would have let the driver make the delivery because the driver at least made an honest effort.
I got a $50 tip today as a wheel chair van transportation driver.
I made the passenger extra comfortable and played Irish music on the radio for him because he was Irish …I didn’t have to do all that I did but I just treated the passenger as I would want to be treated. It took very little effort to give extra good service. I was rewarded for my troubles.
I've been in equipment rental for 10 years and customers are amazing creatures. I love the sure you can get a 80ft semi in here no problem they do it every day. Then I show up and get the oh you can't fit in here... FML. Great job on not getting baited by the wee lad
Had that happen many times! OH didn't know the trailer.was that.long!
Thats why i am very clear on my length (24Meters) When i say i am in a long truck.
If they say they get trucks in all the time. What type of truck?
@@kaspernbs Had a customer the other day say he didn't know semi's were really over 53 ft. Thought that was maximum length we could be. He kept on insisting that I drive my rig up this forest road and that I would have plenty of room to turn around. Told him I'm around 75ft combined length and since I'm delivering a 40ft diesel boom it can be driven up the hill to the house and I'll walk or he can give me lift back. Said I could walk back because I was untruthful about the length of my semi and that it was impossible to be over 53 ft and he's calling my boss to get me fired for being lazy and a liar. I encouraged him to do so and have a great day. That was a fun phone call with the bossman.
@@Empty63 yeah I always give them my exact length down to the 10cm.
They always seem to take me more serious when I say 23m 90 cm.
They tend to go quiet. Then oh... um.... eh.
Its fun hearing that.
It looks like something else happened, and he changed his mind...just looking for an excuse to cancel. It's hard to build stuff without materials!
Looks like he didn’t want to have to haul it by hand to the backyard. He should have talked a section of fencing down.
Exactly
If he was in the middle of a build, and really wanted the wood, he would have tried to work something out..
He didn’t seem interested in the wood at all, and was looking for any excuse to refuse delivery…. and kept getting more anxious as the driver was unstrapping the wood.
Ran out of money
I feel your pain! I do deliveries for a large Greenhouse operation in the Midwest. We send large quantities of live plants all over. I've run into these A Holes all the time. Best thing to do is say good bye and go home, the guy is just being a D##k to exert his power over the lowly driver. He'll call the boss with a sob story and try to blame everything on the driver and insist they redeliver. If the vendor company has any sense of ethics, they will charge him for the restock fee and tell him to go somewhere else. It's also very possible he had a sub contractor lined up and P O ed them and they walked, so he's looking to find excuse to send it back at the companies expense.
