I'm assuming that she doesn't want more stress in her life. Don't blame her.

Mental health is a struggle, especially with all the things she went through

I truly wish her the best. I hope she can find genuine contentment and I don’t think returning to acting is in any way a healthy path towards that. Hollywood/NYC acting culture is far too toxic for most people, much less someone dealing with a possibly terminal, mental illness. If acting is something she strongly feels committed to as a career choice then the best of luck to her. However, it pains me that at the age she is now if it doesn’t work out that she’ll end up another statistic of the child star curse. In an ideal world she would leave entertainment and pursue a meaningful education and career somewhere within the STEM field, and disprove the stereotype of child stardom whilst proving all those that doubted her wrong.
Best of luck to this young lady. Seriously.

Amanda Bynes was always my favorite. i am not American. so i don't know all the tabloid gossips. but i wish i saw her in more movies. sometimes i re watch her old movies. many people don't realize but what happens in your childhood stays with you forever. it indirectly or directly dictates your mental state, decision and every aspect of your life. i really wish her the best.

Have U watched "A better schedule for Nickelodeon's main block" by Evan Rosman? It might save Nickelodeon.

We should not save a network that made its success on child abuse.

I just wonder if anybody's ever thought that maybe just maybe Dan Schneider had nothing to do with her so-called the downfall, and that people should stop pressuring her to say that Dan did this or did that just so they can fit their narrative and claim they are right that they've been complaining about for the past however many years, trying to get him put in prison, nobody even thinks about the possibility that she had her best times on set and worst times afterwards? Anybody notice her Dad was supposed to be the greatest man? No I guess none of that matters it's all about Dan Schneider the Stan Schneider that no wonder she's not talking, she doesn't want to put her story out there because people will take it and do what they want with her story

Couldn’t agree more. I mean there’s still no legitimate explanation as to why she suddenly deteriorated back in the day. But honestly, it’s no one’s business but hers really

It looks like she had been taking the wrong meds for her bipolar disorder, or drinking while taking them. I hope she tries Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, it can do wonders for those suffering panic attacks.

So why are we pretending that Amanda Bynes didn’t go off in some racist rant about black men just before she left Hollywood? Like idc if she has mental issues or not, it’s disingenuous to pretend like that wasn’t a big part of why she got blackballed.

She's also called RuPaul the f word and used some extremely homophobic slurs in public multiple times. But I don't think she ever meant any of these things....she was at an extremely unstable point in her life and she was deeply mentally troubled. There are times in mental illnesses where you have periods of lucid intervals, but when you have fall out episodes like she'd been having she'd tweet and comment the most random and often hateful things. I don't think she had any awareness in these situations.

@something.something189 I feel similarly to you.... I know she said a lot of hurtful things to people at one time and that's not ok but even if she might have meant them at the time, had she been in a more healed place, she probably wouldn't have felt THAT negatively and lashed out. I don't think the sweetness and warmth she exuded in her younger years was a lie, I just think there were some troubles lurking that she needs to work out. Even if she never acts again (which is sad), I hope she just heals and becomes whole again.
