Some popular singer said that in old Hollywood it was obvious that if some singer would sing even better than Sinatra, the management would come to him, as soon as possible make a contract, and pay big money, before someone else would make a contract with him to make him famous.
and they tell to him to never perform so people will never hear the guy because the king can be only one.
Or if there were 50 singers who are like Elvis and one of them was better than Elvis singing better dancing better.
The management would buy him, so he will never be heard by any audience because it's a shallow way to convince the public that King is only one, and its an interesting tricky
way of business itself to gain millions. Because they invest so much money in Elvis that they can not afford to have some other singer, who is better.
So maybe at that time cancel culture did exist globally but it existed only behind people´s backs, made by some individuals, who had money.
He is probably right. It's like Nike is just the best merchandise. Nobody is better than them except Adidas.
But nobody else is supposed to be as corporate as them. I was always wondering why we never hear the singers of the American Idol. Why they didn't become famous if they are so good, or just few of them were a little bit famous and made a CD recording?
So maybe the public is tired of manipulation so they made a cancel culture because they changed their opinion about famous people.
People started to realize that television is as fake as it gets, just to buy their products, without conscious thinking.
They convince you that its not on you to choose what product you want but they choose it for you. Then they blame people if they stop caring about culture.
Maybe cancel culture always existed before but people didn't know about it. Management could buy someone to not perform etc. Even though the celebrity became a slave at some point.. The management also does stuff. It actually doesn't create values of healthy relationships and marriages, because fake sense that celebrities are always best at something and don't have time for marriage and ordinary stuff. But people should have their own values.

@@alaalfa8839this is a great explanation of American capitalism and marketing. It's always been this way, especially in Hollywood. These days, the manipulation is extreme. The propaganda has always been powerful, but moreso these days because of the technology and access people have at their whim. Politics operates like this also; we have a lot less control than propaganda leads people to believe, ie, "vote no matter what!" People are chosen, we don't exactly choose. Same thing in Hollywood. I believe it's been like this for centuries.

There’s nothing wrong with an age gap when the younger person is 39… Jesus Christ. That person has been an adult for a long time. You all are crazy judgmental.
What if the person doesn’t have kids? Then you can’t say that’s the specific issue. Some women have had kids at 14, some at 40. That range isn’t exhaustive obviously… the range does however illustrate that making statements such as the one above is foolish. My parents are in their mid 80s and I’m 32… my husbands parents are also in their mid 80s. We have an age gap, that I’m not about to share here. We have been happily married 9 years. Our families are supportive. My parents adore my husband. Yes, they were insanely protective of me at first, but he proved he wasn’t a fucking creep. Relationships should be viewed on a case by case basis. You can’t make polarizing blanket statements.
Also, it is funny that people are talking about how normalized and ok society is with older men and younger women, but that’s just not true from my experience. Having an age gap seems to give people license to publicly shit on you and be justified in doing so… or for them to ask you ridiculously inappropriate questions. That is what I’ve experienced. I can acknowledge that we may be the exception to the rule, but it shouldn’t make people feel like they have free license to judge and treat you with contempt, disrespect, or hatred.

Another problematic relationship no one ever seems to question is Mariah Carey and Tommy Mottola. They met when Mariah was around 17 and he was 40. Soon later they started dating and they finally got married in 1993 when she was 23 and he was 45. If the age gap wasn't disturbing in and of itself, he was also essentially her boss, head of her record label and one of the most powerful men in the music industry, and she had just started her career and came from nothing. Unsurprisingly, the marriage turned out abusive, and Tommy is still credited to this day for "making" Mariah, when, in fact, he took advantage of her more than she profited from the relationship...

It´s actually a sign of maturity to choose a younger woman as a partner and has nothing to do with power and other idiotic notions you people regurgitate but rather the choice to avoid women just like you. Younger and less confrontational or socially paranoid women have less baggage and preconceived stereotypes embeded in their minds hence they are more desirable.
Not exploitable if you can ever make the distinction which is doubtful.
Younger women can have their opinions and freedom of choice and their projected imaturity can also be a weapon and not a weakness especially nowadays.
Women that are younger can easily take advantage of older men by financially exploiting them or cheating but that little detail totaly evaded your brain.
The one sided story telling and forced equality of the cases in this video and to compare real predators and healthy individuals just because of their age gap relationships is so typically female and very telling of your motives.

one thing most people don't seem to mention in age gap relationships is that if you're in it for the long run, you're essentially signing yourself up to be a middle aged caretaker, and then spending your own elder years alone, not to mention making your children have a parent who's gonna be as old as a grandparent and probably die when they're in their 20's, or even teen years. cause if you start dating someone middle aged when you're barely legal, that's what's gonna wait for you in life, they're gonna grow old and die, and you'll barely be half way into your life.

@@lostecho5318I agree that twenty one should be the bare minimum. In America you can't even legally have a drink with your date because they aren't mature enough; but adult relations is somehow appropriate?
I really appreciate when communities self police on matters like these; and hold themselves to a higher standard than laws, when they are lacking.
But, with all that being said; large age gap relationships tend to result in higher rates of abuse... Not to mention that the younger a person is, the more likely they are, statistically, to divorce (in comparison to first marriage older persons).
Though your age gap isn't the worst by any means from a moral standard; again really appreciate that you don't find minors of any kind attractive or dateable... I would still suggest to stave off marriage and shared finances until both of you are situated in your careers; or at least have a very solid game plan for child rearing (if any) and future investments that enrich both of you equally (the most important thing that tends to be missing in uneven-aged arrangements). Age gaps aren't just issues because of the legalilty. As noted in the video, people of different ages can be in very different places of life; and this can affect both, but most in particular the younger person, negatively long term.

My cousin and aunt encouraged their relationship, literally pushing the girl, when she was only 16, into his arms, only because they didn't have much income and needed to get rid of an extra mouth. When my mother told me the story I expressed my anger and disgust, but my mother said that it was the best choice for the girl (as if she chose it). When I asked her if that would be the best choice as well for my niece who is 18 now, her reaction was different, because my niece comes from respectful wealthy family, she is very smart and she 'deserves' brighter future. I will never doubt any of this stuff to be true. My own mother used to encourage me to flirt with older men, would send older men over to me when I was only 13/14 to talk with them (I never knew what to talk about with someone 10+ years older than me), and when a 32 year old coworker of hers asked if he could take me to prom, my mother agreed and allowed him to present me with a bouquet of flowers as some sort of "promposal" back in 2014/15. I chose not to go with him and he, of course, responded very angrily and refused to even make eye contact with me when I'd go visit my mother at her job. It is wild to me that women of the past HELPED predators be predators as if young daughters were some prize to be handed over to the first older/financially stable man who crossed their path?? I mean my mother would straight up ENCOURAGE me to go "hang out in the medical library at colleges" when I was veryyyyy under age so that I could meet my 'future husband'.
The only reason this has gone on for so long is bc woman have only just begun waking up and educating themselves on manipulation and predatory behavior and how it is NOT desirable to be some mans little toy to mistreat and take out his lack of emotional intelligence out on.... why else would a 30/40 year old even WANT to date a child with zero understanding of how the world works? its wild and sad that my own mother tried to teach me to accept abuse like that. I mean she's not exactly okay herself but it's sad that she thought it was GOOD to try to raise me that way...... she literally didn't know better, just like all the women you mention here... thank god Ive always been the "crazy person" who spots manipulation tactics from a mile away.... otherwise I would've 100% been a teen bride myself 🤷‍♀
EDIT : thought it'd be worthwhile to mention that my mother alsooo saw no problem with flirting with my teenage male friends. shed invite them to stay later at our house to "talk" even though I said I was going to bed bc I had school in the morning (so did my male friends lmfao) pretty much she would prey on my male friends who had particularly difficult home lives and didn't want to go back to their own homes. it always felt weird to me, hearing my mom have deep convos with my 15 year old male friend at 10pm.... but now with my fully developed brain im entirely aware how inappropriate it was. past generations were deeplyyyyy intertwined in this very sick, but normalized behavior....
mind you im only in my mid twenties and I would NEVER EVER EVER WANT TO EVEN BE FRIENDS WITH AN 18 year old, let alone a 15 year old!!!!!!!!!!!!! like whaaaaaaatttttttt?!?!?! I have no desire to groom anyone?!?!?! why was this sooooo commonnnnn and accepted😭

They still have a long way to go: Licorice Pizza is a film literally about a 25-year-old woman pursuing and ending up with a 15-year-old boy released in 2021 and it was nominated for Oscars. Imagine how things would have been received if the genders were reversed.

Yeah I was also extremely upset at the jury who ruled in favor of that 1940s actor. He was obviously guilty. Because why would a grown man go out for drinks with a teenage girl to begin with? Guilty. It's extremely upsetting that the jury was mostly women and he was found not guilty!!

There’s this one guy from North London who use to tell stories about Henry when he was younger. I was a 90s kid and I remembered being told not to be fast as the term is used in the POC community that applied to girls who were blamed for physically maturity . I used to dread getting dress because I didn't want to be seen as fast despite what was the style norms. Being labeled fast was an excuse adults use to blame girls who were assaulted or became pregnant usually by older guys. These guys were never held accountable and the girls and many times their families were blamed . The law and society has blamed girls for these crimes sometimes based on race, religious, or economic standards.

Professor Sam Vaknin explains that they are not in love with the person. They are just in love with the idea of falling in love,
with the act of falling in love but they don't feel anything about the person. They only like what the person may do for them.
Most of them do it because of being neglected by their mother or father in childhood because in childhood their brain
associated love with negativity and neglect. There are 50 percent of male narcissists and 50 percent of female narcissists or borderline.
Some women are also in love with the falling in love not with the person.

How did parents in the USA decide that a "basic accepted rule" in beginning dating age for boys and girls should be 14-16.........JUST WHEN THEY ARE BEING BOMBARDED WITH INCREASES IN SEXUAL HORMONES AND ARE STILL PRIMARILY LED BY EMOTIONS????
Send them out to date alone or on doubles dates with two others just like them.
Then BLAME your children and "society" on teen pregnancies.
Our younger generations are being blamed, as is their whole generations.
Today we are shocked at their "out of control" actions and their social and political views.
They are vilified and blamed for behaviors which originated from the horrible lack of ADULTS.
WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR YOUNGER GENERATIONS IS THE TOAL LACK OF LOGIC ALONG WITH THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL OF SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT.
