The sound of shakers along with the bass drum tone and the snare which I believe is played through a brush and not sticks is so soothing and sits just well along the song !
Boy, oh boy, I've probably listened to tens of thousands of songs on You Tube, and this is by far the sharpest recording of any live song I've listened to on this platform. The sound engineering makes this song sound like you are listening to it live. Every vocal and musical chord is so sharp and clear.
Anyone who’s listening this song Wicked Game by Chris Isaak in January 19, 2025. I dedicated to all my families relatives and friends in Luzon Visayas and Mindanao Philippines fans all my best friends working hard here in Rutherford County from Kenneth Geronimo Glenn T. Marquez Ellenboro NC USA…
I dedicate this song to my husband. He loves me more fully than any other man I have met. We only met in our 50s, but we thank God for meeting. He has a progressive rare genetic disease, and no matter how hard our days are, we continue to thank God for each other. 😢❤
This song reminds me of my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost battling cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, life could be so unfair most times, but sometimes I wonder why bad things always happen to good people.
Hands down one of the greatest ballads of all time. I was a 12 year old metal head when this came on MTV and the video stopped me in my tracks every time it came on. I mean sure Helena Christensen was easy on the eyes but the song was beautifully haunting. Stands the test of time.
I always assumed some studio magic was involved in the original radio version of this song, specifically pertaining to the lead vocals. Seeing how effortlessly yet perfectly Chris sings it live is beyond impressive.
so did I until I learnt to play it. Never going to sound as good as these guys, but it is surprisingly do-able to do a decent sounding job. The hard part is to not rush and feel the timing of everything. And it is really fun to play. Singing it though, not so easy, haha!!
@@cloudthegoodkatch For sure not, guess you havent seen his performance on MTV Unplugged, no tuners involved son. And it's even better on unplugged, was abit younger aswell so that might be it.
It may be one of the best songs ever...it's flawless nothing is overdone and nothing is missing. Not too short, not too long, it's a modern masterpiece.
I did that once…..played it over and over and over again……won’t say what I was doing…..but it was memorable! 😮 Best song EVER!!! Just saw him in Santa Rosa, CA a few months ago. He’s amazing…..always has been!
I've long ago outgrown tearjerker love songs. Genetic material copies itself, we're life forms, I get it, big fucking deal. But this is GOOD art! These dudes are talented as fuck, making me like to listen to a type of song I normally can't stand anymore :)
Agreed. But in saying so, you should check out James Vincent McMorrow’s cover and see how it makes you feel. Not many words to describe it, but it definitely does the original justice.
Top 10 songs of all time! Song is so hypnotic I’m surprised he never had a massive hit. That guitar player is utterly amazing for writing those riffs with the tremolo.
Do you woke from coma yesterday? For a single made by barely known singer outside US, this pretty soom became massive hit. 10 years later, it was still one of the most frequent song on Select MTV. And it sure isn't TOP10 song, because there are no TOP10 song. More like thousands, each TOP in it's own way. They are equaly good, .... you just don't know them.
Me too and I agree, but this song wasn't a hit until late 1990/early 1991. Being in Wild at Heart brought it to the forefront. I was working in a record store and it was quite a contrast to all the grunge and hip hop that was exploding at the time.
@@CraigS1124 No, you are exactly right. It was released in 89 and the album was mostly unnoticed. I just mean for me vis a vis cultural impact it was more a 90s song as that as when it hit.
The drum sound on 2:48 , followed by that perfect smile, just kills me. This video is a wonderful example of how a great band works. Amazing song in every technical and artistic sense!!
This song is such a distillation of the torment and beauty of the heart. My eyes tear up every time I hear it and not from my own past experiences with love but from the absence of it. "Nobody loves no one." Life is a series of illusions that rip us apart until we've been pruned properly before the heavens.
This is THE best song ever, ever, and ever... Loved it when it came out, still adoring it now. When you hear/watch covers, they always do weird stuff to their voices to sound like Mr. Isaac, but it's never the same. Cover it, don't imitate it, doesn't work, his voice is one of a kind. Did I mention I love this song?
Corey Taylor does it justice in his own way, with his own voice. Probably the only person who's done it properly. But Isaak still is the best, obviously. The twang' can't be immitated. .
Gina Miles fir sure won the Voice America with her amazing rendition of this song: It was hauntingly beautiful, and I have his original Album! My fav song too! Listen to Gina! Chris would love it too:
I want to say thanks for all the warm comments and likes... Oh well since I got too many messages over at my blue print account so I decided to isolate myself here and reach at to few of my fans without you I wouldn't have been here today. Kisses 💋to your lovely heart
I worked years as a Bylaw Enforcement Officer and was called many times over the years to bands playing in backyards. I never shut one down because I always thought of the great music we missed that never made radio play when I was a kid. I'd hang out for a while and listen then ask them to turn it down just a little. I could spend all day in this backyard listening to Nick Stone and the Shifty Hunchbacks.
Simply the BEST sound mixing I’ve heard on a live band ,you can hear every individual instrument which absolutely makes a difference instead of a ‘wall of sound’ …great song by a great artist accompanied by great musicians
Im not gonna sit here and let you slander the Wall of Sound and by extension the late great Owsley Stanley. Aka Bear, the mad scientist, audio technician and LSD chemist that rolled with the Grateful dead in the 60's and 70's. He may have been in jail for the creation of the Wall of Sound. But his work was certainly the inspiration, and the result was the loudest and clearest sound mix ever produced at a live event. Then a few years later advancements in audio tech made it outdated and the wall came down.
I wasn’t referring to that ,I simply meant that when a mix isn’t done properly, all you hear is a garbled mess leading to a ‘wall of sound’ from which you can’t distinguish who’s playing what etc ….sorry for any confusion caused 👍
When a musician plays it like the original recording is a true musician! No butchering of the song here! That single coil sound of that strat man ! Love it!

I found this song back then when I was going through very difficult time, my mother past away and I had guilt to not being a good son, the same time my Ex left me, this song was the only way for me to cry, because no matter what I do my tears never come out, I'm very hard hearted man I never cry but,,, That time I need to cry and I was alone and I needed to help my self I needed to let out all the pain,, this song was such and excellent medicine for me, everytime when I heard this song my heart just melt, So thank you so much for posting this and thank you for the singer I don't even know his name for singing this excellent song,, I also want to say that life is cruel and sometime thing never change, we hope things will be okay but that never happens you stay alone you stay being treated like shit,, in the end we have to accept that some of us people are not lucky enough to have people in our life who care about us, some of just have to accept that not matter how much we give and how much we love and care and sacrifice but in the end no one care,,,💔

0:05 the engineer is so good he listens to all the audio through a cell phone
Such a beautiful, haunting, heart breaking song. Chris nails it everytime!! Never get tired of listening to it!!
Puerto
I think we all had a girl like that
@Chris Isaak You broke 5he mold on that song. Sure brings back memories.
@Chris Isaak If you are reading these posts, I'm amazed. If you are many thanks. You make amazing music. Thank you.
@Chris Isaak really ?
Lol.
I have always loved this song by Chris Isaak and it never gets old. It is just beautiful.
Saten sheets, dim lights, sipping wine & this song. I get weak hearing him sing this.
@@marilynmccormick3731 I am laughing but yessssssssssssssssssssssssss, perfect
I'm 11 and isn't the song old??? Hope u get the joke
Just beautiful🔥♥️
💜💙💛💚🧡♥️💕❤️🔥✨✨✨✨✨✨✨lovely song
I dedicate this song to my husband. He loves me more fully than any other man I have met. We only met in our 50s, but we thank God for meeting. He has a progressive rare genetic disease, and no matter how hard our days are, we continue to thank God for each other. 😢❤
This song reminds me of my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost battling cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, life could be so unfair most times, but sometimes I wonder why bad things always happen to good people.
❤❤❤
May Almighty God grant your husband good health !
In sha Allah is Arabic for God Willing x
Deus te abençoe 🙏
Probably the best song of a generation.

Rarely live songs match studio versions. It's smooth, ethereal and intriguing. If it was a painting,it s a masterpiece.
Hands down one of the greatest ballads of all time. I was a 12 year old metal head when this came on MTV and the video stopped me in my tracks every time it came on. I mean sure Helena Christensen was easy on the eyes but the song was beautifully haunting. Stands the test of time.
Oh man I was born in 83 so this song definitely help jump start my interest in girls!
I agree, born 75 and this track had a coolness even though I was a rap/metal type.
Awesome
LOVE THIS VERSION ! Sometimes even when there's no public, we see the magic, the artists in their most common place
Nice piece this one 👌
Ditto❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I always assumed some studio magic was involved in the original radio version of this song, specifically pertaining to the lead vocals. Seeing how effortlessly yet perfectly Chris sings it live is beyond impressive.
You said what I was thinking so beautifully.
@@VincentVaIentine Well thank you 🙏
so did I until I learnt to play it. Never going to sound as good as these guys, but it is surprisingly do-able to do a decent sounding job. The hard part is to not rush and feel the timing of everything. And it is really fun to play. Singing it though, not so easy, haha!!
He’s got a live tuner on his voice for sure but it’s incredible performance
@@cloudthegoodkatch For sure not, guess you havent seen his performance on MTV Unplugged, no tuners involved son. And it's even better on unplugged, was abit younger aswell so that might be it.
Beautiful song! Been love’n this since back in the day… 1992. Never gets old. “World’s on fire, nobody can save me but you”. Beautiful.
A timeless classic, Chris has such a beautiful voice, it pairs so nicely with the guitar.

🎉
The best Chris Isaak song EVER! It gets more magical every time I hear it. Could play it over and over and over again!
I second that. Super easy to learn the basics of on a guitar too! Most magical elegance in simplicity, indeed!
Hello how are you I pray for you're keeping save and healthy over there
Never get tired of hearing this song, and only by Chris.
Just listen Diana Ankudinovas version when she was 15 .
@@aimokaakka9110 Nope. Has to be Chris or it's wrong. Sorry doll, that's the law!
My favourite version is by H.I.M
@@aimokaakka9110 theres some great covers James Morrow is my favourite ua-cam.com/video/DUV2kbQJYGI/v-deo.html
No karaoke Chris Isaak owns this song
Absolutely beautiful! Have loved CC & MM since I first heard this song. My sister was blessed to see the concert in Florence, Alabama in the 80's.
If this doesn’t stir you...you’re dead. What a fantastic performance by everyone involved, especially the dude that mixed it. This is a gem.
Still living! Chris is a gem!
Stfu plx
Truly better than the original mix
The guitar work .so simple and elegant. Along with the rest. Genius
I've long ago outgrown tearjerker love songs. Genetic material copies itself, we're life forms, I get it, big fucking deal.
But this is GOOD art! These dudes are talented as fuck, making me like to listen to a type of song I normally can't stand anymore :)
Many have and will continue to cover this beautifully heart breaking track. But nobody will ever perform it better than Chris.
Agree. Stone Sour cover is amazing but is light years away from this.
His voice is just perfect
It is part of him cause he wrote it.❤️
So true I agree
Agreed.
But in saying so, you should check out James Vincent McMorrow’s cover and see how it makes you feel.
Not many words to describe it, but it definitely does the original justice.
I think this is a beautiful song,I'm 64 years and I've recently discovered this song and a few other classics I didn't know existed.
me too :)
Have you listened to ..... David A. Stewart - Lily Was Here ft. Candy Dulfer .... I think it is the best song I have ever heard, I am also 64 yrs old.
Better late than never
What a great piece of music.
Greetings from Uruguay 🇺🇾 !!!!
This man’s passion for what he does is so refreshing. I love this man and this band The world needs more of this ❤️
Dead on sir. This was some of the last of the age of innocence in the 70s. We need this kind of music again to lift our spirits.
Más de esto y menos del obsceno regueton.
@@ronaldpetit9607 wicked game 1989
Top 10 songs of all time! Song is so hypnotic I’m surprised he never had a massive hit. That guitar player is utterly amazing for writing those riffs with the tremolo.
Agreed.
This song was a huge hit.
Agreed. I didn't even know this guy until I saw this, and this voice was transcending.
Tre mende
Chris Isaak's Wicked Game is the original and still the best, smoothest, most sultry, and knee buckling sexy. I tremble.
Das empfinde ich auch so! 🎶 Die Cover von Black Jack, Diana Ankudinova etc. reichen nicht heran!
This song is from 90s but I 1st listened to it on iTV in early 2000 in India and it brings all memories to me from that era.
it's an 80s song.
Another 80's classic that never gets old. I am blessed to have loved the 80's in real time!
Me to❤
Me too and I agree, but this song wasn't a hit until late 1990/early 1991. Being in Wild at Heart brought it to the forefront. I was working in a record store and it was quite a contrast to all the grunge and hip hop that was exploding at the time.
@@ericmills9839 I believe around that time he did a TV gig. SNL?
@@ericmills9839 I thought it was released in 1989, but charted 1990. I could be wrong, but either way, it is still a great song!
@@CraigS1124 No, you are exactly right. It was released in 89 and the album was mostly unnoticed. I just mean for me vis a vis cultural impact it was more a 90s song as that as when it hit.
I'm 25 years old, just recently discovered this tune, if you can believe it. It's become one of my favorite songs of all time
same, i have 16
That's good, a real song writer singer. So rare these days.
Beautiful haunting melody, great lyric, ball is I n your court, don't screw it up.
At 2:58 that tune is so good. NGL.
Better late than never...you have good taste in music.
Man, that clean tone on the strat! Love the vocals also - just a great song!
I bet Elvis would have killed this song.
Tenacious D cover is pretty good though!
@@emphotos103 She has a nice voice but her music is just the usual anonymous amorphous drivel that we've all heard a million times.
One of the most wonderful songs ever written. This performance is absolutely perfect. His voice is just so incredible
I want to say thanks for all the warm comments and likes... Oh well since I got too many messages over at my blue print account so I decided to isolate myself here and reach at to few of my fans without you I wouldn't have been here today. Kisses 💋to your lovely heart
The voice just mesmerize you soul
Once every 500 new songs I hear there is just that one that instantly stands out and gives me goosebumps, this is such a song, awesome. Keep it going!

I worked years as a Bylaw Enforcement Officer and was called many times over the years to bands playing in backyards. I never shut one down because I always thought of the great music we missed that never made radio play when I was a kid. I'd hang out for a while and listen then ask them to turn it down just a little. I could spend all day in this backyard listening to Nick Stone and the Shifty Hunchbacks.
if your going to have hunchbacks in your band best they be shifty
❤
The mix on this is absolutely top drawer. You do not mix a song any better than this. Bloody hell
I know man, unreal for a live straight shot
Not overly hard to mix at such a low volume , been doing sound for decades
My thoughts as well. Perfect!
Totally agree 💯 😊
One of the greatest songs ever. For personal reasons, I feel the need to listen to this about 10 times tonight.
I don't think anyone can really explain the feelings you get listening to this especially if you're missing someone
Then a few years later advancements in audio tech made it outdated and the wall came down.
simple is the best .this is a period piece ..adds to the stark reality ..beautifully done
Love it!
Hi. I lost my partner of 24 years 4 weeks ago today and think this will be the first song at the funeral. I love you Gez my sweet and always will. Just make sure you and our beloved dog Marshall are waiting at the pearly gates when I pass over. Love you both so much xxxxxx
I lost mine at 21 yo and Im now 43.......Its always gonna suck. It will be more bearable and you can handle it despite feeling to the contrary. Hang in there.
Mediterranean sunsets, a love long gone, slow dances a life time ago. So grateful to have experienced it all. Brilliant album, brilliant artist. To everyone who knows how much this song means, cheers 🍻.
I know exactly what you mean, feel
Bin there, done that😢
Lyrics
The world was on fire and
No one could save me but you
It's strange what desire make foolish lovers do
I'd never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you
And I'd never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you
No, I don't want to fall in love
(This girl is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't want to fall in love
(This girl is only gonna break your heart)
With you
With you
What a wicked game you played
To let me feel this way
What a wicked thing to do
To let me dream of you
What a wicked thing to say
You never felt this way
What a wicked thing to do
Let me dream of you
And I don't want to fall in love
(This girl is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't want to fall in love
(This girl is only gonna break your heart)
With you
The world was on fire and
No one could save me but you
It's strange what desire will make foolish lovers do
I'd never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you
I'd never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you
No, I don't want to fall in love
(This girl is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't want to fall in love
(This girl is only gonna break your heart)
With you
With you
No I...
Nobody loves no one
Thank you
A lot of wrong lyrics in there lol google is your friend
Used to sing 'foolish people', it's now 'foolish lovers'.
The best cover of this song it's from band names HIM
This WORLD is only gonna break your heart..
Beautifully played, sung, recorded, mixed. Magic
Yeah, sounds great without pitch correction.

Tenho hoje 57 anos meu pai me apresentou um disco de Elvis quando eu tinha 5 anos de la para cá e impossível deixar de ouvir essas canção desse Gênio.👏👏👏👏
As a teenager I used to listen to it all the time. A spent all my pocket money of the month to buy the record. I still have it. This song represents for me my melancholic youth. Still love it.
The best live version of a song I have ever heard.
The Way He holds That Note is Insanely Clever! What an amazing sound! This has Got to be the Best Version!Brilliant Song!
What a most beautiful intro with the horses and the amazing drone shots of the beautiful winter snowfall !! So happy to see you do the polar dip plunge!! It’s such an amazing experience!! I miss sledding on fresh snow! Absolutely beautiful video sweet sis!! ❤🐕🐾🍷🥰I know that I will miss this place when I leave 😢
One of the most beautiful songs EVER. So beautiful that it makes me cry. This live performance sounds better than the recording.
And it's not that often that the live version sounds a lot better...
My favorite song ever. Such a masterpiece. Chris Isaak is still so talented. Amazing live performance. Thanks for sharing.
Boy, do I miss this mans music. I wish he could go back to those roots and bless us with another album. His music transcended race and genre. Was unique and inspired.
This song will forever be fire 🔥
This is such a timeless song… I’ve been listening to it for decades and it hits me every time what a spectacular song it is. 2024 and decades more…
We will go on for decades listening...
This live did NOT disappoint. Even the back up singers. Just lovely.
it has been pitch corrected, as have the backing vocals... to even more degree. Wax in ears?? Now listen again. The original is not f'ed with like this.
I found this song back then when I was going through very difficult time, my mother past away and I had guilt to not being a good son, the same time my Ex left me, this song was the only way for me to cry, because no matter what I do my tears never come out, I'm very hard hearted man I never cry but,,,
That time I need to cry and I was alone and I needed to help my self I needed to let out all the pain,, this song was such and excellent medicine for me, everytime when I heard this song my heart just melt,
So thank you so much for posting this and thank you for the singer I don't even know his name for singing this excellent song,,
I also want to say that life is cruel and sometime thing never change, we hope things will be okay but that never happens you stay alone you stay being treated like shit,, in the end we have to accept that some of us people are not lucky enough to have people in our life who care about us, some of just have to accept that not matter how much we give and how much we love and care and sacrifice but in the end no one care,,,💔
Bless you. Hope you’re ok?
As a Blackman who listens to rock I ran back into this song. I don't know the artists sometimes but I know the songs. This my joint 😊
