I really like how you told us all of your trial and error throughout this process. They don't make furniture like they used to so I feel like refurbishing furniture is a must nowadays. Thanks for videoing all the hard work you put into this project and taking the time to edit and post this video
OMG - What a great "save" from the landfill and what a great refinish, the bed Head & Foot- boards are absolutely gorgeous! You know your craft quite well and shows in the end product : D
I love the result! Thank you for sharing great details on the entire process. Been researching on how to achieve a raw wood look for my dining chairs and so far, your method is the best! ❤
What a great video! We have all had those struggles with the raw look... that is such a beautiful bed. Looks so expensive like from a furniture store. A well worth labor of love! Thanks for sharing your process. Very helpful
I’m wanting to do this to my whole bedroom set which is pretty dark. I was going to paint them but I like the lightening of the wood like you did. Love this. Lot of work but well worth it.
Your are a life saver! This is absolutely georgous!! The perfect natural look. I started tackling this oak dresser and I am tearing off veneer but it has a beautiful solid oak top drawers and frame. I will have to replace sides with an oak wood. Anyways, I want this natural look so bad. I have been watching videos for days and Bingo! Here it is. I am excited to do this now. Thank you so much!!
You really went through the bleachers, thanks for sharing. Osmo Raw 3044 is great for retaining natural wood without darkening as is has white pigments in it.
I love the look of the finished bed. It is exactly the look I am going for so I'm glad I came across your video. From the research I have done the 2-part bleach is a 3% lye solution applied first and then a 30% hydrogen peroxide on top. I am a soap maker so I have the lye and have just received the peroxide. I can't wait to do it. The bleached wood of your bed has a very calming, peaceful look.
Hi Lori, Sanding lots of detail can be really tough and you might lose the detail. Also, the center panels were veneer, which you can't sand too much. Hope that helps!
Anna, sanding can work, but on the veneer parts, you may sand through the veneer before you can get the color you want. Also, stripping helps on curved parts that are difficult to sand, like the posts.

I love this finish, would love to do on an old oak table, what would be your top coat for a table that you will use.
Thats one heck of amount of work. It looks really good but i dont i think i have the patients to do that
Thank you for the great tutorial. 😀 Which version of Quick Strip did you use? Looks like it worked very well.
Beautiful! You didn't say what you sealed it with. I read the blog but couldn't find it there either.
I sealed with Minwax polycrylic in a matte finish.
Excellent job
Great job. Luv the results. ❤️

What grit sandpaper ending up working for you the best? It’s looks amazing!
Did use the bleach on the front too
Lovely!!!!!
Hello! Can you link the stripper that worked? I hear you call it Quick Strip, but can’t seem to find that online? Thank you! Gorgeous piece!
Such great tips. Thanks!
Thank you SO much! I love it!
Love this 😊
Wow, what a labour of love! The bed came up beautiful! Is this your workshop for projects like this?
Beautiful
OMG! I love it 😍
Going shopping for a bed headboard at my thrift store 😆
Beautiful job, Which quick strip did you use?
I’ve tried using Citri-stripper and had the same disappointing results.
Yup rust stains had this happen an they turned purple depends on the species
Is it oak ? I read that you shouldn't use steel wool on oak as the fragments from it lodge in the grain and react with the tannins in the wood.
Yes, I've totally stopped using steel wool!
Overall how long did it take to do the bed? It looks wonderful
I can't lie, it took a while! I did it here and there when I had the time but it's really hard to estimate.
Why didnt you just sand the stain off right from the start?
Hi Lori, Sanding lots of detail can be really tough and you might lose the detail. Also, the center panels were veneer, which you can't sand too much. Hope that helps!
Why not just sand and sand until you reach the raw wood?

@@InBetweenChaos Yes, good point! Who wants to spend their life sanding tiny curves when a stripper can do it for you😄
Yeah, that citrus stripper may be more natural, but I find it’s just not very effective
Seems like too much work
